Snow and setting priority for voip voice packets?

I have an engine Voice Box 2 connected to my dual ethernet base station, for voip phone calls using a 1500kbps broadband connection. It all works fine, except sometimes the voice quality of phone calls isn't good - drop-outs occur. Engin support tells me there is a way to configure an airport BS to give priority to voice packet data over other internet data data, and this will improve the voice quality.
Is this possible with a snow BS, and if so how do I do it?

OK, Duane and anyone else. My question has been answered via telephone from Apple Australia, on Thursday 22 Feb 2007 at local time 9.01 pm. The answer is: There is no way that any version of an Airport BS can be set to prioritize voip voice packets over other internet packets of data.
Apple Supporters in other countries may disagree (not a surprise). I've been a Mac user since the first 1984 64K Mac, and I've not been too impressed with Apple phone service during the last 20+ years, so if another Apple tech elsewhere comes up with a different answer I would not be at all surprised.
So, first premise is my voip provider gave me incorrect info. Second one is maybe someone else gave them the incorrect info. One guess and no prizes as to whom this may have been.
Bigger surprise is that Apple seems oblivious to how popular voip phone is going to be in the immediate future, and that Mac users are likely to receive inferior quality voice quality and have no way to improve this by tweaking their Airports.

As Terence said you're experiencing a kernel panic. Boot into your System install disk and launch Disk Utility from the Utilities menu in the first window after the language selection window. Repair the disk. If DU finds problems and runs repairs do it a second time and then reboot.

Setting priority to the RTP packets

I am developing a system which will use multicasting to trnamist RTP packets. To ensure the better transmission, I want to set priority to my transmitting RTP packets. My system has been developed based on AVTransmit3 and AVReceive3 provided by sun where RTPManager has been used.
However is it possible to add special information to the RTP packets so that router underlying router will allow my packet to be transmitted first?

Well......according to the RFC2474 and RFC2475, diffserv header can map with the precedence field of the IP header, In IP header TOS field can be mapped with DSCP field of the Diffserv Header. Now jcparques, though IP header can be diffserv capable but is their no router availble in reality which is diifserv capable?Or if I use any simulator like NS2 or other simulator which can work with java, can't I implement diffserv in rtp packet?

when you set a credential, you don't have to set the UseDefaultCredentials property (it is already updated).
For autodiscover, you should try to set the property EnableScpLookup to True if you are in the Exchange domain or it is known by the current domain.
Autodiscover uses a domain query (through Active Directory) and/or a dns query (this requires a DNS register for autodiscover.domain.net) to determine the access to the autodiscover service URI.

I'd like to set the colors of my application to the system's colors. Especially the backgrounds of my JPanels, JButtons and so on should look like in the operating system. If you change the systems color scheme, my application looks really wierd with it's grey canvas an components and the border and menu of the window is displayed in the system's colors.

koemActually, the truth is quite the opposite, the UIManager only has control over swing components.
There are many ways you can set these globally. You can sublcass your own look and feel, use the system look and feel, call UIDefaults.put() etc.

EJB3 and/or Toplink and setting context for VPD

We are looking at moving to the latest version of jdeveloper and taking advantage of the ejb3 and/or toplink features for the model part of applications. I have a question on how to set the vpd context using this new model. Currently we use:
Jdeveloper 10.1.2.1
Oracle application server 10g R2 Enterprise Edition ver 10.1.2.0.2
OracleOCI driver
Oracle 9i database
Our database access is in regular java beans where we get a connection from the pool , set the context for the current user (by running a stored procedure on the connection) perform the required data access and then release the connection. It looks like when you use Toplink or EJBs with CMP the database access is out of the developer's control. How will I be able to set the context for each connection ( it's different for each user) once I move to the new model?

I have been told though, that since we are deploying to the OC4J container and it will manage persistence and since EJB 3 simplifies the creation of entity beans that we should use EJB 3 entity beans and a session facade for the model and not add toplink as it would be an extra layer we don't really need , would you agree?

Calling GUI jar from C++ and setting parent for JDialog

The problem i am facing is the jar runs as an independent application. I want to set application as the parent window for my GUI.
The frame is a JDialog. Can i set a parent for a JDialog? So that doing Alt+Tab would not open the GUI on any window other than the parent application.

Well, you can certainly set a parent for a JDialog (an owner, anyway, since it isn't a "parent" in the GUI hierarchy)... but that won't necessarily make the windows task switch together.
Now, the real problem is that the "parent" needs to be a Java Dialog or Frame object in the same JRE as the dialog, and in order to get what OS-specific task switching features can be provided by AWT, it needs to be set at the Dialog's creation. Since a JDialog does have a native peer at some level, (although I'm not sure if it actually would be a native dialog window), you might be able to use the Java Invocation API instead of ShellExecuteEx to set up the JAR, watch for the JDialog to be created, and then link its peer through native code... but I don't think there's any easy way to do what you want, since Java windows aren't even supposed to be aware of native ones.

Need help. Both iTunes and Setting's for photo usage show about 2000 more photos then appear on the Camera Roll with no additional libraries. This takes up many gb of phantom photo storage. I just upgraded software, I've reset the phone. Need help!
