Snow Leopard distroyed Norton! Help!

Um... My Norton won't work now that I have upgraded to Snow Leopard. It kept telling me that it was Error 10, I think? Now it isn't giving me the message anymore but the Auto File Scan is still not functioning. The only problem I found was that Snow leopard found the file com.symantec.navapdaemon.plist incompatible... is there anything to do about this, or do I have to live w/o this Norton Function- and if so will this leave my computer unprotected?

Have to ask Norton when they will issue an update for OS X 10.6.
Not Apples fault, nor Snow Leopards.....
Incompatible 3rd party hardware and software are normal growing pains for any new OS.
3rd party developers bear the responsibility, as well as the users of such items, to confirm compatibility.
and if so will this leave my computer unprotected?

You do not need Snow Leopord (10.6.X), but you do need Leopord (10.5.8) and iTunes 10.x for iOS 4.3. You need iTunes 10.5 for iOS 5

Jetphoto Server on Snow Leopard Server - Need help.

Folks, I recently setup a machine using Snow Leopard Server and migrated our jetphoto server (http://www.jetphotosoft.com/web/?s=product_server) to this machine. I cannot get it to work. It worked perfectly on Leopard client.
I enabled my php5 module. I just don't know what to do on this one. I'd appreciate any help getting this going.
Essentially I downloaded the jetphoto server 1.3, moved the jpserver folder to the correct level of the webserver folder and attempted to load it in Safari.
All I get is:
Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server. If you entered the URL manually please check your spelling and try again.
If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster.

Should I try to upgrade my MacBook (model identifier: MacBook 5,1) from Leopard 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard? Please help me with the decision.

There's not much you can do except add more memory (8 GBs is the limit) and/or replace the hard drive. You can upgrade the OS to Snow Leopard and even to Lion. The former would cost $29.00 and Lion would add another $30.00. Hardware upgrades for memory and/or hard drives would add perhaps another $70 to $200 depending on what you did.
But the decision is yours to make.

How do I uninstall snow leopard? please help

Hey everyone, I am having a lot of troubles with snow leopard and since its not really a BIG difference between leopard, i decided to go back to leopard, so ok.
I got my 17 inch mac book pro, it came with leopard, and with the snow leopard installation cd, and i installed it, now, my question is, how do i uninstall snow leopard without leaving any trace??

To do the most in terms of leaving no trace, you will need to do an erase and install. Start from your Leopard DVD by holding down c when starting up. Next, when able, choose your language and stop. Then, using the menus at the top, select Disk Utility; check to see that your volume's partition is GUID; and make it GUID if necessary. Then, erase your drive. Next, quit Disk Utility and continue the install. After the install is complete, insert your Leopard applications disk and install the programs you want. Now, you are done except for restoring you data, apps, and settings using whatever media are available to you.
As implied, you need to have a plan to get your data and apps back especially. In this regard, it may be less important for you to get your users and settings back.
If you are not prepared backup-wise, then you can use your Leopard DVD, again by starting up to it, to do an archive and install. Since you want no trace of Snow Leopard, I would not choose the option of preserving user and network settings. After doing an the archive and install, your archives will be in the Previsous Systems folder. [See posts three and five on this thread|http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2168159&tstart=25] to get more info on archiving and installing and retrieving things you may want afterward.

Problems Updating Snow Leopard. PLEASE HELP!!!

I recently loaded Snow Leopard and have been trying to update it so I can get the App Store and purchase Lion. Every time I try to update the software it says it will take 80 + hours. Then I get an error message that says, "The update 'Mac OS X update combined' can't be saved. Software update can't connect to the update server. Make sure you're connected to the internet & then try again." I know I am connected to the internet b/c I am able to get online. I am so frustrated! Please help!!!!!

Snow Leopard Install Issue - HELP

Hope someone can help ..... I just installed Snow Leopard 10.6.3 from a brand new install disk.
Everything went fine UNTIL I did Apple Software Updates.
Once those were complete, I get this screen at Startup.
If I power off and back on the same screen comes back.
I thought about trying to reinstall, but if I put the disk in will it bypass this screen or what?
Any hekp would be greatly appreciated.

MacBook Pro Snow Leopard Software Upgrade Help!

I recently upgraded to Yosenity, and noticed my computer lags a bit (spinning wheel thing). I downgraded back to Snow Leopard via cd. Now my iTunes will not read my iPhone and when I upgrade the software, it is stuck on that aura screen. What should I do if I want to stay in Snow Leopard?
I assume I need to upgrade to the latest Snow Leopard to get my iTunes working properly. I think I would want to download iTunes 11 after I update Snow Leopard. Is it possible that since the updates need the internet that Apple does not support Snow leopard upgrades anymore?

Ok so I solved it I think. I restarted my comp, hard restart and then only checked Snow Leopard and ITunes to be updated. Now that seems to be updating itself like normal.

Maybe you should first tell us what your problem is. You may not need to reinstall Snow Leopard. Snow Leopard is what your installer disc has - 10.6. Reinstalling may also require installing a number of updates as well. Here's the basic reinstall process:
Reinstall OS X without erasing the drive
Do the following:
1. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
2. Reinstall Snow Leopard
If the drive is OK then quit DU and return to the installer. Proceed with reinstalling OS X. Note that the Snow Leopard installer will not erase your drive or disturb your files. After installing a fresh copy of OS X the installer will move your Home folder, third-party applications, support items, and network preferences into the newly installed system.
Download and install the Combo Updater for the version you prefer from support.apple.com/downloads/.

I previously bought OSX lion, then i had my harddrive backed up on an external. Once I wiped my harddrive, it put my operating system back to snow leopard...help

If you're wanting to put Snow Leopard back on your old laptop and you don't have the original DVDs, you should call Apple Support (800-MY-APPLE USA) and order the version of SL that came with your MBP. You'll be charged a small fee.

Upgrade from Tiger (g4 ibook) to leopard/ snow leopard? Please help!

I know a fairly knowledgeable when it comes to the lovely apple mac, but i am getting a little lost in a load of jargon on forums about whether you can update the software on a G4 ibook from Tiger (10.4.11) to something more recent (leopard/snow) which supports iLife '09.
The ibook G4 is an old laptop and I also have a Macbook which I leave at the office which runs off leopard. Can I t-boot and upgrade my software on my old G4?
If so, step by step dummy instructions would be soooo fantastic, if anyone would be kind enough to break it down for me

There's also a Verify button there, but may as well Repair, which verifies also.
Do you have a referral for obtaining new disc at reasonable price for this procedure or what I should expect to pay? Or just hunt?
If apple still has it, $129, if hunting, make sure it's not a Gray machine specific Disc, which are all Intel only also.
If Apple, you have to call Apple & likely ask for a Product Specialist to get it, if they still have it!

Final Cut Pro 6 on Mac OS Snow Leopard installation problem HELP!!!

After 2 - 3 hours of installing all 10 FCS 2.0 discs and Software Updates, I can't seem to launch Final Cut Pro 6.0.6. I get *"...software maybe damaged or not installed.."* So I removed all of them and only custom-installed Final Cut Pro 6.0.6. It works with no problem!!! Then I custom-installed Soundtrack, Motion, DVD Studio Pro etc..., I can't launch Final Cut Pro 6.0.6. again! What the **** is going on? I get that "damaged" warning and Final Cut Pro icon is replaced by missing application icon.
My Mac Pro also has _Pro Tools 8 LE_ with _003 Mixer Rack connect to USB_. That's it. No other application. You think this is maybe causing the problem?

Carbon Copy Cloner is pretty simple to use. If you have any questions, post back or read the documentation. As I said in the user tip, test your clone after you make it to be sure it is bootable and your apps work.

New snow leopard upgrade..help!!

I just updated my mac from tiger to the box set that has ilife and iwork. The upgrade said it was sucessful, but now my computer will not update, and it will not install ilife or iwork. I gets to the part to install, you click install and it sits there. What do i do!!

Trying to upgrade to Maverick from Snow Leopard - Problem? Help?

Hi - Trying to upgrade to Maverick from 10.6.8 on a mid/late 2008 ? Mac. App store tells me i'm not meeting criteria but version and memory (just upgraded from 1GB to 3GB) seem fine.
