Snow Leopard to Lion

Good afternoon all (I realise in some parts of the World it isn't),
I could not find a Lion forum but I am hoping I can get an answer in this forum - I have recently installed Lion as a digital download onto my MacBook Pro, and whilst checking some documents I discovered I can no longer open Appleworks files nor  Microsoft Word for Mac files - I get a message saying PowerPC documents are no longer supported - I realise my Works application is an old one bought some years ago but it worked on my Mac using Snow Leopard.
I have Pages but a lot of my old stuff is in Appleworks and my wife uses nothing but Word on her computer - she has not yet installed Lion.   Is there a more modern Word Application for Mac that will work with Lion?
Will I have to reinstall Snow Leopard in order to use those files, at least in the short term till I can somehow transfer all the documents onto Pages?
Any advice would be much appreciated
Many Thanks
Kincaid   (Just realised all my household accounts are in Word!  Oh dear!

Hi Bill,
Well, you could do some of 1-3, then open the bottle of wine while the system does all of the installing etc
I would go for an external drive, not very expensive today for even something like 2 TB...I bought one in September from OWC, www.macsales.com their Mercury Elite, and partitioned into 1.5 TB for TM backups and 500 GB for extra work space.  Used Carbon Copy Cloner, free download, to clone the internal drive and that then is a bootable external partition.  You could install SL on that partition instead of cloning, and all the older software you want to have available.  And then install Office 2011 when you want on the internal drive.
You can also look at the Home use version, they might call it Educator version, of Office that retails for something like $150.  I am not sure but think that is now 2011.
In the meantime, enjoy the wine, hope it is relaxing.

  • Macbook 2006 upgrade to Leopard, Snow Leopard, or Lion?

I own a white Macbook pro 2006 core 2 duo OS x 10.4 tiger. More than anything, I want to update this computer. Is there any possible way to upgrade to leopard, snow leopard, or lion?

You can upgrade from 10.4 to10.6 with no problems. Any program that runs under 10.4 will run under 10.6. You might have to upgrade some drivers for printers, etc.... And you will have to install Rosetta if you have any Power PC applications http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/snow_leopard_installing_rosetta/   I recently upgraded an older Core Duo MacBook (1,1) from 10.4 to 10.6. If you only want iPhoto or other single apps from iLife '11 you can get them from the App Store after you've upgraded to 10.6.6. iPhoto, iMovie or Garage Bandfor $15 each and Pages, Keynote or Numbers from iWork '09 for $20 each.
You can order a Snow Leopard10.6 install disk for $29 as long as you have at least1gb of RAM and 5gb offree space on your hard drive. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A?mco=MTY3ODQ5OTY
A 10.5 Leopard disk willrun you over $100
Once you are at 10.6.8 you can buy Lion from the App Store if you have at least a model 2,1 MacBook. Lion will require at least 2gb of RAM but really needs 4gb to run smoothly. Also Lion doesn't run any PowerPC programs. To see if you have any Power PC programs go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. WhenSystem Profiler comes up select Applications under Software. Then look under kind to see if any of your applications are listed as Power PC. Universal and Intel will run under Lion.
Before Mac switched to Intel processors they used Power PC processors from 1994 to 2005. Power PC 601 through 604, G3, G4 and G5. Applications written for the Power PC processors need an application called Rosetta to run on Intel processors. This was part of the Operating System in 10.4 and 10.5 but was an optional install in 10.6. With10.7 Lion Apple dropped support for Power PC applications.

I have updated from Snow Leopard to Lion with Safari Version 5.0.5. Now I can not update to Safari 5.1. There is no update in the Software Updater, and on the apple-download page, I only found a Safari 5.1 for Snow Leopard. When executing it, there is an error message, that it is for 10.6 only.
It seems that I should have first updated Safari, and then only to Lion, which I didn't. Any idea how I can fix this now without having to rollback to Snow Leopard, update Safari and then go back to Lion?

Try this Safari5.1 from the installer package

The download worked better with Firefox not sure why. At the bottom of the page after the captcha>> slow down load is the Free link,  it took about 4 minutes to download on my test.

  • Is it worth it to update from Snow Leopard to Lion?

I just got my first Macbook (early 2008 edition for maximum savings moneywise), and I found out that I can't sync my iphone 5 and ipad mini on the Leopard OS that is on it. I've already worked out that I have to at least get Snow Leopard to use my devices, but someone also told me that Lion is better than Snow Leopard. Any opinions on if it's worth going to Lion instead of just Snow Leopard? And would it COST MORE? Thanks for any opinions, this is the first time I've used a mac since Computer class in 1993 in Middle School so I'm a little confused with some things...

    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mountain Lion if your computer meets the requirements.
         Snow Leopard General Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel processor
           2. 1GB of memory
           3. 5GB of available disk space
           4. DVD drive for installation
           5. Some features require a compatible Internet service provider;
               fees may apply.
           6. Some features require Apple’s iCloud services; fees and
               terms apply.
Upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mavericks
To upgrade to Mavericks you must have Snow Leopard 10.6.8, Lion, or Mountain Lion installed. Purchase and download Mavericks (Free) from the App Store. Sign in using your Apple ID. The file is quite large, over 5 GBs, so allow some time to download. It would be preferable to use Ethernet because it is nearly four times faster than wireless.
         OS X Mavericks- System Requirements
Macs that can be upgraded to OS X Mavericks
             1. iMac (Mid 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 7,1 or later
             2. MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer) —
                 Model Identifier 5,1 or later
             3. MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             4. MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 2,1 or later
             5. Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             6. Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
             7. Xserve (Early 2009) — Model Identifier 3,1 or later
To find the model identifier open System Profiler in the Utilities folder. It's displayed in the panel on the right.
    Are my applications compatible?
See App Compatibility Table — RoaringApps.
    Upgrading to Lion
If your computer does not meet the requirements to install Mavericks, it may still meet the requirements to install Lion.
You can purchase Lion by contacting Customer Service: Contacting Apple for support and service - this includes international calling numbers. The cost is $19.99 (as it was before) plus tax.  It's a download. You will get an email containing a redemption code that you then use at the Mac App Store to download Lion. Save a copy of that installer to your Downloads folder because the installer deletes itself at the end of the installation.
         Lion System Requirements
           1. Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7,
               or Xeon processor
           2. 2GB of memory
           3. OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
           4. 7GB of available space
           5. Some features require an Apple ID; terms apply.

  • Manually migrating iPhoto and iTunes from Snow Leopard to Lion..

    Hi all,
I received a shiny new iMac yesterday and in my haste to get it up and running, I began to run the migration assistant on wi-fi.  Unfortunately, my 2006 macbook model is so old that my firewire cables don't actually fit the firewire port on the back of the iMac!!
11 hours later, there was still 40 hours left to go.  At this point I manually quit the migration assistant. Partly because I have to work and to work I need to use a computer and partly because I realised that I don't want all the old crud from my previous system.. all I want is my iTunes (songs, apps, playlists etc) and my iPhoto to migrate.
The original admin account that the migration assistant was going to replace was still there.  Everything seems to be working fine... I did a quick repair of disk permissions and all seems fine.   So, I think I flirted with danger by quiting the migration assistant, but danger doesn't seem to have flirted back.
I've searched high and low on the web and I can't find any advice on migrating just your iPhoto and iTunes from Snow Leopard to Lion.  I did read a post somewhere (relating to a migration to Leopard) where someone wrote that, for iPhoto, you simply had to replace your iPhoto Library in your pictures folder on the destination machine and then simply start iPhoto.  iPhoto would upgrade the databases etc and all would be fine in the world.  I cannot find a post online that suggests that this is also the case for Lion.
Can anyone here give me some hints on how to manually migrate the iPhoto and iTunes libraries over (and still preserve playlists in iTunes, albums/events in iPhoto etc)?
I figure that I cannot be the only person in the world who wants a "fresh start" on their machine, with the exception of iPhoto and iTunes.

Resident apple gurus at work have advised me to use the migration assistant and plug an ethernet cable between machines.
I'll give this a go and then go through the process of removing and cleaning up whatever old data I can.. but if someone posts a response to this question for me, I'll happily roll back in time-machine and go again in a cleaner way. :-)

  • System freezes when attempting to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion

I hope someone can help me out there.  I have downloaded the Lion upgrade install program and built an install disk on my jump drive using Lion Diskmaker 2.0.2, but when I tried to upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion using the jump drive, the install freezes at 24% and I cannot reboot or anything.  It just keeps coming back to the install screen.  Any suggestions?

This could be due to a number of causes. If you have the Lion installer application, then I suggest you put it in your Downloads folder. Now do this:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
When you've done the above you should now double-click on the Lion installer application in your Applications folder. When prompted click on the Install button. Note that you will not use the flash drive you made as you shouldn't need it. And, this will avoid any issues with a bad flash drive installer.

  • How can I share files from Snow Leopard to Lion?

I have an iMac running 10.6.8 with file sharing turned on. (I've tried AFP and SMB).
I am trying to connect to the iMac on my LAN using a Macbook Pro with 10.7.5.
I am immediately prompted to authenticate – so I am confident a connection is being made (I am also able to ping) – but when I enter my user credentials from the iMac, I get the spinner (not the beach ball) basically forever. I've let it go for several minutes and nothing ever happens.
This article seems related, but following the procedure in it did not help:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4700
Has anybody been able to file share from Snow Leopard to Lion or Mountain Lion?

The firewall is off on both computers.
How can I werify the shared user is enabled on the iMac with the correct authorization and permission? It does not seem like sharing is configured per user. The user is my normal user account which I use when logged into that machine for everything. I am using those credentials when trying to connect from the Macbook Pro. In the past I did this frequently without trouble. I am not sure when the problem started but the only thing that has changed was I got a newer Macbook Pro last year with Lion.
If you grow weary of this, you might just bring the Macbook Pro over to the iMac and use Target Disk Mode to mount that iMac on your Macbook Pro as a desktop disk. Then drag and drop. No a long term solution.
This is not practical for me as I frquently have need to work from another room using the Macbook Pro and with files that typically live on the iMac (and get backed up from that location). I am making due with Dropbox for now, but the reason I have been driven to post here is that I am looking for the long term solution.
Thanks for feedback. Let me know if you have any additional thoughts.

  • Upgrade from snow leopard to lion 10.7.2

    Hi all,
I wonder if anyone can help me at all. We currently have three MAC computers in our office, the newest one is running on version 10.6.8 and the other two are 10.5.8. I want to upgrade all of them to the new Lion 10.7.2 so we can have the new server and access all the features that goes with it. I understand that you cannot just do an upgrade from leopard to lion, you have to buy all of the upgrades. Is this correct? Also, do I need to buy all the upgrades for all of the MACS or can I just buy one version of each? Would it be a version of snow leopard, then Lion, the Lion 10.7.2 ?
Hope this makes sense, any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks again,
    Andrew

First off you should consider the risks of upgrading to 10.7
1: 10.7 runs poorly or slowly on most older Intel hardware (certainly machines old encough to run 10.5 qualify)
Lion has been tested and it's a hair slower than Snow Leopard.
2: Lion machines also has to be 64 bit Intel processors, not the 32bit Intel Core Duo's. No PowerPC machines.
3: 2GB of RAM is required, but people report 4GB is better.
4: 10.7 will not run a LOT of your 10.5 and 10.6 software, and a lot haven't been upgraded/updated to work with 10.7. This also includes drivers for scanners and printers that some might be a bit older.
You can check this compatibility database
    http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
Snow Leopard runs everything from 10.5 and 10.6 because of Rosetta. So all your software should work, perhaps with a minor update each.
5: OS Lion introduces some radical changes in the User Interface that can disrupt your workflow and sanity.
My 20 plus Apple vet/production manager opinion is this, upgrade the 10.5 machines to 10.6.8 and leave things alone.
When you buy new hardware, it will come with 10.7 and then you buy new software to go with it and gradually ease into it, sort of like getting a enema, insert gently.
If you go all radical and change all the machines, your going to be in for quite a bit of pain, not only on the machines, but from the users using them, believe me!
You can buy this ($69) and backup, wipe and install. Need one for each machine on 10.5. and you should have one for the 10.6 machine too, but you can download Lion $29 from the 10.6.8 AppStore instead, no USB copy.
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD256Z/A
Snow Leopard $29 install/upgrade disks are here
    http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573Z/A
Again, I suggest you just upgrade the 10.5 Intel machines to 10.6, it's less expensive, it's stable and it works faster than 10.5 or 10.7 in tests.
Save Lion for new hardware and software upgrades when they arrive.

  • I have a hdd from late 2009 that I upgraded from leopard to snow leopard to lion to mountain lion.  I want to upgrade the hdd to ssd.  Do I need to buy a new copy of mountain lion to install on the ssd?  If not, then what is the procedure to transfer?

I have a hdd from a late 2009 mbp.  I upgraded from leopard to snow leopard to lion to mountain lion.  Now I want to upgrade to a ssd.  Do I need to purchase a new copy of mountain lion to go on my new ssd? If I don't, then what is the procedure to transfer mountain lion with my 4 user accounts onto the new ssd from the hdd?
I'm confused on if I can use the recovery hd on a thumb drive to install mountain lion on my ssd.  Will it be pheasible with so many OS X upgrades?  And then how do I get my user accounts onto the ssd from the hdd.  Do I use migration assistant?  Do I need to make a time machine backup first?  Should I use something called Carbon Clone or something like that?
    Thanks for reading

If you have a cable that connects and external HDD to the MBP, it will do.  If it is something like this, an  enclosure will not be needed for the swap:
An enclosure allows you to use your old HDD for storage or backup purposes.  The cable will not.
Here are instructions as to how the swap can be performed using DISK UTITY.  Substitute You cable for the enclosure in same:
INSTALLING A NEW HDD IN A MBP
    1. Make certain that you have backed up all of your important data.
    2. You will need a HDD enclosure.  One with a USB connection will do.  A 9 pin Firewire is better.
    3. Install your new drive in the enclosure and connect it to your MBP.
    4. Open DISK UTILITY>ERASE.  From the left hand column drag the new drive into the 'Name' field.  Make sure that the format is 'Mac OS Extended (Journaled)'.  Click on the 'Erase' button.
    5. Click on the 'Restore' button (on top).  Drag the old drive into the 'Source' field and the new drive into the 'Destination'  field.  Click on the 'Restore' button on the bottom right hand corner.
Depending upon the amount of data you are transferring, this may take a couple hours or more.  A Firewire will speed up the transfer.  This will result in both drives having identical information on them.
    6. After the data transfer has completed, you may swap the drives.  Start the MBP and you have finished the installation.  The initial boot may take a bit longer than you are accustomed to, but that is normal.
    7. When you are satisfied that the new hard drive if functioning properly, you can erase the old drive and use it for any needs that you may have.
If there is any confusion on your part, post back.
    Ciao.

  • I am new to mac's and have upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion but......

I am new to mac's and have upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion but not all my application will work. Is it save to reinstall using original snow leopard dvd and does it wipe all my other application like apature? I am in a panic over this, any help!!
I came across this online and i want to know is it safe to do this:
Backup your User folders to an external drive. This should preserve your documents, photos, music, etc. If you store those things in locations not in the User folder, make sure to copy those over too.
Insert the Snow Leopard disc. Restart your Mac and hold down C to boot to your DVD drive.
Go to Utilities in the menu bar once the installer pops up and select “Disk Utility.”
Find the drive in the sidebar where Lion is installed, select it and navigate to the Partition tab.
Click on the drop down menu under Partition Layout and select “1 Partition.” Hit Apply.
Now navigate to the Erase tab and make sure “Mac OS Extended (Journaled)” is selected, then hit Erase to delete all data on the drive.
Quit Disk Utility to get back to the Snow Leopard installer and proceed with the install.
Restore your User folder and documents from your backup.
Run Software Update to get everything current, install your apps from your original install media and update those as well.
if any one can help me that would be great, thanks Mike

Before you do that why not do this first:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Lion Recovery HD. When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
To boot from the Recovery HD restart the computer. After the chime hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
If this doesn't help, then you can proceed to reinstall Snow Leopard as follows:
    Downgrade Lion to Snow Leopard
    1.  Boot from your Snow Leopard Installer Disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button.  When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
    2. After DU loads select your hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Note the SMART status of the drive in DU's status area.  If it does not say "Verified" then the drive is failing or has failed and will need replacing.  SMART info will not be reported  on external drives. Otherwise, click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
    3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed.
    4. Quit DU and return to the installer. Install Snow Leopard.
This will erase the whole drive so be sure to backup your files if you don't have a backup already. If you have performed a TM backup using Lion be aware that you cannot restore from that backup in Snow Leopard. I suggest you make a separate backup using Carbon Copy Cloner 3.4.1.
This will erase the drive so be sure to backup your files before doing this.

  • I have a big problem with Lion and PGP. After upgrading from snow leopard to lion I cannot access my PGP drive which was generated under snow leopard. PGP does not start but gives a notion that lion cannot work with my PGP version. Solution?

After upgrading from Snow Leopard to Lion I cannot access a PGP drive which was generated under snow leopard. PGP does not start. When I try to start I just receive a message that Lion cannot work with PGP. How can I now access important and confifential informatio which I have stored in PGP (snow leopard). Do I have to move back to snow leopard. If so, how can I do this?

    If you have this product,

you have to go back to Snow Leopard.
To re-install SL, back up your home directory, format and re-install.

  • I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram.  Will I be able to run Lighroom 5 if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion?

I want to upgrade to Lightroom 5, but I'm concerned about compatibility with my 2008 intel Core 2 Duo iMac with only 4G of Ram.  Will I be able to run Lightroom 5 okay if I upgrade from Snow Leopard to Lion?  What will happen to the applications that aren't 64-bit compatible?  Also the Eye-one Display 2 colorimeter to calibrate the monitor will not run on Lion, so that will be an expensive upgrade to an i1DisplayPro. Is the upgrade important enough to offset the expense?  I have an Epson R2000 printer.  Will there be problems with the drivers if I upgrade to Lion?  It would be great to hear from other mac users who are also photographers and who print their own photos.

Before upgrading to Lion be sure to read this link:
    https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-6271
    Adobe lists these requirements:
    http://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom/tech-specs.html
Looking at http://www.everymac.com/ even the earliest 2008 iMac was fully 64 bit, even though Boot Camp doesn't support 64 bit Windows on that machine.

  • Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase harddisk and install Leopard Snow Leopard Mountain Lion. Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion

Mountain Lion won't install on 10.7.4. Suggestion from Apple is to completely erase the harddisk and install Leopard > Snow Leopard > Mountain Lion.
Is there no other way to install Mountain Lion?

I tried and failed for several hours to install Mountain Lion, and was repeatedly getting the "Recovery System" cannot be created error.  I tried all the tricks: resizing the drive partition, booting from an external boot drive, all to no avail.  After reading other users struggling with the same issue, I had determined it to be a boot camp drive error.  However, I didn't want to have to erase and begin anew when I came upon a possible solution.  I had long ago renamed my boot camp drive with a "." (".windows" for me) in order to avoid having the partition show up on my desktop.  So, I boot into windows and renamed the c: drive without the "." ("windows"), and reboot into os x.  The install then went off without a hitch.  I hope this will be helpful for others struggling with this issue that may have renamed their boot camp drives in a similar manner.

  • External hard drive Snow Leopard and Lion compatibility?

I am going to install Snow Leopard on my Mac (so I can then purchase Lion and install THAT into my Mac) but it only has 975 mb of memory left. So, I've decided that I need to purchase an external hard drive so that I can transfer some videos, songs, etc. to create more space on my Mac. My question is, what external hard drive will be compatible with Snow Leopard and Lion? I was going to purchase a Western Digital external but I've heard many problems of it being incompatible with Lion. What's a reliable and compatible brand that I could purchase? I'm looking for an external hard drive that hold at least 500 gb.

I think your analysis is kind of harsh, kurt.
    'garbage'? really?
Sure, some familiar paradigms have changed, and change brings pain - or at least, unfamiliarity - but that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad.
Of all the changes you mention three things that you consider abominations...
UI changes more in line with iOS. Sure, and this is bad because...?
It's clear that Apple see the iOS as the future, and it makes sense to unify the experience - at least where it makes sense. You don't actually mention which elements you consider bad, BTW.
The scrolling seems to be the one most often cited, but to me it makes way more sense to manipulate the document directly, rather than manipulate a scroll bar that works inversely. I'm not sure what other UI elements you're concerned about.
As for the Save As... issue, the change to Duplicate makes a lot of sense when you understand the concept of automatic file saving and versioning. There's never a need to 'save as' in order to create a point-in-time backup since you automatically get point-in-time backups just by using the OS. The only reason it makes sense to to force a branch and for that, 'duplicate' makes sense. If it bothers you, just read 'duplicate' as 'save as'.
The big break here is that versioning requires application support - the developer needs to add it to their app code - and that creates inconsistencies in the short term because not all apps support versioning. That will fix in time as developers release updates to their apps.
As for bugs, the current release is 10.7.2, so that's two revisions past the original. Any major release (of any applications, not just an OS) is going to have some number of issues and some people avoid any .0 release just for that reason. I think the concensus is that by the time you get to .2 most of the issues have been resolved. Can you point to any bug in 10.7.2 that directly affects you and your use of the OS? or are you basing your statements on outdated material?
In short, every major OS release, from every OS vendor has some number of changes that confuse and upset users, and some number of short-term pain while application developers and users get up to speed. Lion is no different in that respect, and if you look back in history you'll see the exact same sentiment for Snow Leopard's release, and Leopard's, and Tiger's, and..., and..., and...
To call it garbage, though? I think not.
