Snow leopard upgrade has locked me out of gmail - can anyone help?

Yesterday I upgraded an old mac book with Snow Leopard and am now at 10.6.8. It has knocked me out of gmail. Any solutions would be greatly appreciated.
Is there a patch?

That's a curious situation, and so I have to assume you have issue with the Mail set-up in Snow Leopard after upgrading, because those settings no longer work now...? When you upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.8, did you choose to install Rosetta?

For gmail in an email application, the setup is not too different now than it was a few year ago; however subject to change however often or whatever reason they want. +Their end user agreement spells it out.

Mine is set up to use Notifier, with a second browser most often used exclusively for gmail. However notifier is sadly 'going by way of the dinosaur' by the end of this month, according to progess reports from Google.
You may have to consider a different browser, and find the last applicable Adobe Flash player plugin for OS X 10.6.8. Safari is among five browsers in my Macs, however due to some being powerPC models, there are fewer great ones left and a few get upgrades. TenFourFox, Seamonkey-PPC, and iCab seem to be OK. However for my intel-based MacBook 13" (1.83GHz coreduo) with Leopard 10.5.8, there still is a working FireFox, a different version of Seamonkey that won't work on powerPC, & iCab that is universal. In Safari preferences, you can assign another browser as default to the system.
So you could still use Gmail by web browser and on
occasion save files to .zip archive, etc for offline.

Place the iPod in Recovery mode and connect to the computer and restore via iTunes.

Lord K. Thank you. Yes I am within the 90 time period, however I travel Intertionally and I can not receive not make a call to Apple. I was just at the Genius Bar in Chicago and they said, don't worry about it. It just floats out there, however, I can not recover my messages on a flash drive. I need to go back to my old computer which I don't have with me. My messages were in folders for a lawsuit. It is going to take an incredible amount of work for me to, you have no Idea. We are talking thousands of pages! I the defendent will have them during discovery so I am not so worried. My Mac using os 105.8 has a unresponsive Mail problem. Can anyone help?

I'm unable top use the Mail. It starts up - downloads E-mails and then become s unresponsive (the system just displays the 'sp;inning disk' symbol and I have to force it to quit. The system has sent multiple "system quit while responsive" reports to Apple. What can I do? The problem developed overnight (with no warning problems) several weeks ago. Can anyone help please?

Quit, uninstall or disable all third party software, plug-ins etc especially virus protection

Turn your phone off and connect your cable to the computer, but not the device just yet. Start up iTunes. Now, hold down the home button on your phone and plug it in to the cable - don't let go of the button until iTunes tells you it's detected a phone in recovery mode. Now you should be able to restore to factory settings.

TS1702 When i purchased the APP dead space it got like 1/4 of the installing it then a window popped up saying the app can't be downloaded at this time has happened with another app aswell can anyone help me ?

I suggest trying the update again after an hour or two. Sometimes, the notice that an update is available comes an hour or two before the developers actually sends the revised app out to be downloaded.

Leopard install has locked me out!

This, I think, is different:
1) I did an Archive and Install and rebooted successfully into my Admin account.
2) As I began to work, I noticed that things started acting strangely. I was asked to type the Admin password for a simple task and it did not recognize it when I typed it. It gave me three tries and quit.
3) I rebooted and found that my Admin account had completely disappeared from the Login window. Only "standard" accounts were listed.
4) I logged into one of the standard accounts and found that the files from my Admin user account were still in the computer but inaccessible.
5) I tried the shell commands that Apple suggests but found that I could get no further than the "ls /Users" command and was informed that the subcommand "ls" (List) was unrecognized. HELLO?
So, I am going back to Tiger and staying there until Apple provides a way for the rest of us...

10.9.4 upgrade has locked me out of many of my files

I upgraded to 10.9.4. Now, I can no longer log in to "network accounts". I am lucky in that my school district gave me administrator access, so I am currently logging in that way. Big problem though- the permissions on EVERY SINGLE FILE AND FOLDER are set to read only, so any time I want to access anything, I have to change the permissions on the folder/document. I have tried doing this en masse to no avail. Please help me to log in to my original account so I can function the way I did before 10.9.4 hit.

Here is a screenshot. Everything inside of that Macintosh HD folder (which is where I store absolutely everything and have never touched the other two "devices" is read only.I also can no longer print (tells me 'Filter' failed) and access our network (Global) drives.

Snow Leopard upgrade causes screen black out and freeze

I have Mac Pro (2008) 3.1 with ATI Radeon HD 2600. During the installation of the Snol Leopard my screen went black and only switch off and on worked. After the problem happened more ofter especially when the system came back from sleep mode. Again several switch off and on helped. Later the screen went black just during normal usage. I have tried to get the screen with vnc from a laptop and it worked.
On the console I have seen windowsserver erros when the screen went black. After the screen just froze and the cursor turned to a transparent square. Whole system become unresponsive. The problem came more and more often. I was so desperate that I had to reinstall 10.5 again and I do not have the problem any longer.
Any idea what the problem can be?

Boot from your install disc and check the startup disk for errors.
Insert your install disk and Restart, holding down the "C" key until grey Apple appears.
Go to Installer menu and launch Disk Utility.
Select your HDD (manufacturer ID) in the left panel.
Select First Aid in the Main panel.
*(Check S.M.A.R.T Status of HDD at the bottom of right panel. It should say: Verified)*
Click Repair Disk on the bottom right.
If DU reports disk does not need repairs quit DU and restart.
If DU reports errors Repair again and again until DU reports disk is repaired.
When you are finished with DU, from the Menu Bar, select Utilities/Startup Manager.
Select your start up disk and click Restart
While you have the Disk Utility window open, look at the bottom of the window. Where you see Capacity and Available. *Make sure there is always 10% to 15% free disk space*
Also, run the Apple Hardware Test

HT4623 iPhone 4 upgraded to IOS 6 - battery drains quickly - can anyone help me?

I have just upgraded the operating system software in my iPhone 4 to IOS 6.0 (10A403). Since that time, the battery has been draining rather rapidly. With only the phone in standby, wi'fi off, the battery gets extremely warm to the touch. When I come out of standby, you can almost watch the battery capacity drop at about 10% in 3 or 4 minutes.
I have tried dpoing a backup to my computer, then a restore with a re-synch. This gained me a bit more memory space, and the battery went from 100% down to 28% in the period of 7 hours. No calls were made or received.
I am preplexed and hope someone has some idea of where I should start looking.

I haven't been able to download the latest iPhone update iOs 5 to my iPhone 3Gs and a network connection has timed out error notification has popped up the 4 times I have tried to download it.
