SNP implementation checklist..

Hi,
Could you please share the complete checklist for the SNP implementation for
1. Masterdata on r3 & apo side
2. CIF settings need to be done
3. Heuristics, capacity levelling settings, varitants
4.optimizer settings, variants
5. any other relevant mandatory variants to be created as part of implementation
please share your ideas.

I must assume from your question you have never done an SNP implementation before. I am sad to inform you that there is no such checklist. Every SNP implementation is different. Every Core Interface is different. Every optimizer implementation is different.
The 'checklist' is dependent upon the business requirements. If there were a standardized a checklist, the first item on the list is 'Determine business requirements'. From these requirements, you will develop the checklist.
If you want to see how certain common business scenarios are implemented, I suggest that you review SAP Best Practices.

My advice:
- involve a senior NW BW basis person for the installation/post-installation
- understand the technology (ABAP and JAVA platform) and study checklist and installation guide
- follow exactly all post-installation steps as this is the tricky part
The checklist is meant as addtitional help, but don't put the installation guide away.

I am new to this site and find it difficult to get information regarding WEB tools and WEB CRM.
I would like to be involved with others who are putting e-commerce together with webtools and B1.
I can find no information at all regarding WEB CRM, we are finding the outlook integration a poor solution to and essential area and need to explore other solutions.
please point me in the right direction if you can on any of the above.

SNP without R/3

Is it possible to implement only SNP ?
This is without SAP R/3 and other APO modules.

Sure.
Create the master data directly in the system, using the BAPI suite would automate it.
Then run SNP and generate requisitions.
In a typical SNP implementation, the integration with R/3 is a step you tackle after you get the planning piece working, so in essence you just would never tackle the final (and most critical) step.

Dear SNP Experts,
I was looking for some high level effort estimates for implementing SNP. The high level information I have is this
More or less standard SNP implementation
Using standard heuristics
ECC implemented .. MM, PP, SD all in place
Make to Stock is main strategy
20000 products in all (FG+RM), 35 locations (types)
SNP PDS needed
Interchangeability- INCMD in SNP to be considered
No ATP
Standard Macros and Alerts.
No CIF done before
No VMI
No Subcontracting scenarios
No supplier or customer collaboration.
All solution management admin tasks to be considered.
Assume a firm that sells 4 billion dollars worth of ready to eat food products globally.
SNP is being implemented in One country only.
Roll outs later (not a part of effort now).
No HANA
SCM 7.3
Reasonably credible sounding consultants who have been there done that will be hired.
This is all the info I have now. I know each implementation is unique and there can be no generic answers but something empirical data based on your experience is all I need
Do highlight major dependencies and show stoppers you encountered.. that must be kept in mind

Some things to think about in making the effort estimate:
1. What are the processes in scope - Distribution Planning? Master Scheduling ? Safety Stock Planning ? Deployment ? Truck Load Building ? Inventory Balancing ? Simulation Planning ?
From your description it looks like its just focused on Distribution Planning. But I doubt if that's all there is.
2. What is the level of process maturity within the organization ? Do they use any Advanced Planning Systems today ? What is the appetite for change? Who owns change management/ training?
3. I've seen clients who start of by thinking that they want to do Heuristics to 'keep it simple' - and then do a volte face when they realize that they want to do constraint planning. Then ending up going with CTM.
4. If client is in food industry then they likely have shelf life requirements. SNP has some major limitations meeting these requirements. Your 'more-or-less-standard' solution may not be so standard any more !
5. To meet above said shelf life requirements you will likely need full batch management implemented in ECC. If that's not in place its a LOT of work to put the system/ processes for batch management first.
6. Any other existing or new systems to integrate with ? I've noticed that CPG clients tend to have a laundry list of best-of-breed applications in addition to SAP - For example SmartOps/ Logility for Safety Stock Planning, Terra for Demand Sensing, Oracle Transportation Management for Transportation Management, etc.
7. Make-To-Stock may be 'main' strategy. But if its not the only strategy, then think again about the numerous limitations of SNP in supporting Make-To-Order scenarios.

1. Compliant User Provisioning Implementation          14 days
2 Complete AE Pre-Implementation Checklist          1 day
3. Deploy and install AE on NW                    1 day
4. Perform AE post -installation configuration and connectivity     1 day
5. Perform AE issue resolution                    1 day
6. Discussion & Configuration of Test workflows          7 days
7. Run end to end request scenario testing for each workflow path     3 days
It is upto your project resource allocation and working hours to minimise the task ASAP.

Upload of SU24 Auth. objects in SAP GRC AC 5.3

Hello,
We are in process of SAP GRC AC 5.3 implementation, and our SAP System is not updated to SU24 (Authorization objects), in which USOBT_C is populated.
In GRC AC 5.3 Pre-implementation checklist, it is mentioned about the above, being necessary.
If the SAP System is not updated to SU24, then what is the other way, to upload authorization objects in RAR Post-Install Steps, after we have already completed SAP GRC Tools ( all the SCA files) install and backend RTA installation?

1. Create file (automated via batch job) from SU24 (report /VIRSA/ZCC_DOWNLOAD_SAPOBJ)
==> SA38 --> Background --> create a variant where you fill out the value for the server + filename (no extension needed for filename) --> schedule periodically
2. convert to UTF-8 format (how can this be automated?)
--> not necessary ; in my system it is UTF-8 by default
3. upload periodically into RAR via background job (from AIX based file system !)
--> configuration tab --> upload objects --> permission --> choose system --> leave local file blank and fill out server location (drive letter) --> click background and schedule the job daily. This is not a heavy job, therefore daily.

based on my real time experience, I will suggest you to keep an eye on
Load performance (It will be useful when your database(Warehouse) will have huge amount of data)
System availability (Check for Windows update and up time configuration)
Deployment methodology should be planned in advance. Development of packages and respective objects should be done systematically.
Source control mechanism
Disk space and memory usage
You might or might not have full rights on production environment, so be prepared to analyze production environment via Select statements [I guess you got my point]
Proper implementation of Landing , Staging and Mart tables.
Column size (this can drastically decrease your database size)
Usage of indexes (Index are good, but at what cost?)

I have one more thing.
I am exploring the SNP because the client is looking to optimise their logistics cost. As I understand that In SNP the transportation lanes feature can cater to this need. My only point here is that I want to use APO for the Deployment side & not for the production side..That means I would be using the system MRP result for carrying out the production execution & will not be using SNP here but for mpving the stocks between the network I am intending to use the SNP Deployment feature.
Please advice me whether this is a right approach from cost implications perspective.

It may vary in different projects.
I can just give you a couple of general roles.
Migration project
Designing mapping documents in order to check the need of creation in BW.
Developing various objects like Cubes, ODS, Info Sources, InfoObjects etc.
Designing Transfer Rules and update rules including start routines, update routines and Transfer routines as per the requirement.
Scheduling Info Packages to carry out the data loading process. Involved in data loading from SAP R/3 to Source layer ODSs into BW. Loaded data using Data mart, as the Business layer and Report layer ODSs get loaded from source layer ODSs using data mart functionality of BW.
Involve in the backfilling of historical data from present sys to SAP BW .
Developing the Master/Transactional data process chains considering the dependency among the BW objects and automated the triggering and monitoring of the same on daily, weekly and monthly basis.
Transportation of various BW components.
Performing unit testing and data validation of newly developed and enhanced objects in Quality BW system in terms of providing an efficient solution.
Responsible for overseeing the Quality procedures related to the project.
Responsible to deliver (Transport into Prod) the object as per the scheduled deadlines; with accuracy of deliverables by considering the quality norms.
Involving in the Client/Onsite communication for any client side clarifications, for assignment of work, for discussing on project status related issues, etc.
Support project
Data Load Monitoring:
1.Carried out data load on a daily, weekly and monthly basis using Process chains from both SAP Source systems as well as Non-SAP Source systems such as Informatica.
2.Resolving Data load error such as Invalid characters, Time period conversion, Currency conversion, Duplicate records, etc
3.Ensuring the availability of the updated data in the datatarget on time.
4.Spooling out data through Infospoke from SAP BW to systems like Trillium, Ariba (Reporting Tool)
Ticket Resolution:
1.Process chain modification: Working on Optimizing Process chain by creating new process chain considering the load dependencies.
2.Reloading of R/3 data from different clusters Reconciliation issues
3.Enhancements as per Business requirement.
Additional responsibilities:
Preparing design documents from the Business Requirement docs and identified the relevant data targets for satisfying the customer requirements.
Creation of Operational manual: BW Run & Maintain Support.

Table space activity with basis team.

Most projects have different number of cubes with varying volume of data. You cant generalize this.

Migrating from 10g to 11g checklist

we are migrating from oracle 10.2.0.4.0 to 11g. we have Apex 3.1.2.00.02 installed in 10g.Will migrating to 11g will have any issues in our applications?.i have read that what comes with 11g is apex 3.0.
