SNP PPM can't be activated

Hi ,
I am working in SCM 5.1 , I wanted to test the dependent demand flow in SNP heuristic run and for the same I have tried to create PPM. I have created resource bucket & single mixed both. But when I am trying to activate the SNP PPM it gives me error "No linked PP/DS plan exists for SNP plan". IS it necessary to have PP/DS plan for SNP ppm ? Is anybody else faced the same problem in SCM 5.1 ?

Hi,
are you getting some more error? like 'bucket consumption is not defined'. then you have to define the 'bucket consumption' in the resource. go to 'mode' of the 'ppm' and check resource consumption is properly defined or not.

Hi All:
I have created a SNP PPM which is also activated .I have a PIR for same product for which produrement type is production.While running SNP heuristic I am getting Planned Order but source is supply is shown as blank.Can some one tell me how this inconsistency can be resolved ?

The PIR says to get the product for Location A from Location B.
The PPM is in Location B.
Product in Location B says in-house.
Version is set to "no orders without source of supply".
Is that your setup?

SNP PPM Generation from PPDS PPM - Time less than 1 sec. in snp bucket con

Dear All,
Request immediate help .
(a) My PPDS PPM have time elements less than 1 seconds towards processing time and there are operations without a set up time .
(b) While converting such a PPM PPM into an SNP PPM I get an error of bucket consumption as SNP cannot convert less than 1 second into a daily bucket .
(c) I have to maintain the base qty in BOM and Routing as 1 unit hence cannot increase the same .
(d) Is there a way in which SNP PPM can be generated from a PPDS PPM wherein the PPDS PPM has only a processing time of 1 second and no set up time .
(e) Infact I have tried to convert the PPDS PPM with a time of 1.5 seconds but now I have lot of products where the routing suggests a processing of less than 1second and no set up . This is leading to a PPDS PPM of time less than 1 second and SNP PPM is not getting generated as guess it cannot convert a PPDS PPM with less than 1.5 seconds in a day .
Would appreciate a quick response .

Firstly, can I ask why the base unit has to be 1, this seems a strange restriction?
If it has to be, then two possible solutions:
1) In the CIF enhancement CIFPPM01 you could multiply all values by, for example, 100 to give you larger values in the PP/DS PPM in APO and hence of a size that SNP conversion can cope with.
2) In one of the BADI's /sapapo/ppm_calc or /sapapo/ppm_gen you can do the same conversion factor if the PP/DS PPM has to also be 1 unit.

SNP PPM need to be created

I want to create a only SNP PPM when a Routing is CIFed from R3. currently, we are getting the PPDS PPM.
pl let me know, where will be the setting to create SNP PPM directly in APO.

SNP PPM can not be generated from R/3 directly .
It can be manually created in APO through transaction SCC03 .
Also if you dont want to create it manually then you can do through this , when you CIF BOM & routing , A PPDS ppm gets created in APO .
This can be converted into SNP PPM , It is also possible to convert for the whole plant in one go or can select certain products for a plant.
SNP PPM is generated in APO based upon existing PPDS PPM . So, every time an R/3 recipe or BOM is changed, the PPDS plan will automatically be updated. However the equivalent SNP plan must be regenerated manually to account for the R/3 changes.
there are two steps :
selection of the required plans via /n//SAPAPO/OO_PPM_CONV
& conversion of those selection plans /n/SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_310.

Upload single level variable cost in SNP PPM in mass by MASSD

Hi experts,
I am trying to upload single level variable cost in SNP PPM in mass by MASSD by following selections:-
Selection
Object Type:- PPM
Selction Criteria:-
Component:- Plan        Attrib:- Use of Plan
Component:- Plan        Attrib:- Plan
Components & Attributes to be Maintained
Component:- Plan        Attrib:- Var.Sing.Lvl Costs
While maintaining the cost, under selection criteria, compoment: PLAN and attribute: PLAN I am unable to maintain multiple plan names.
The single level variable cost that I have to maintain for all these plans is the same and therefore was trying to use transaction MASSD
Can you please throw some light on how multiple PLAN selections can be done?

Converting PPDS PPM to SNP PPM

Hello,
On converting a PPDS PPM to an SNP PPM which has multiple activities(operations). Is there a way to generate the SNP PPM the same number of activities included in the PPDS PPM to capture one Resource for each SNP PPM. Or it has to be converted multiple times?

Below is an example:
PP/DS PPM A
Activity 1 - Resource A
Activity 2 - Resource B
Activity 3 - Resource C
If PP/DS PPM is set-up like the example above, can this be converted to 3 different PPMs for the 3 different resources in one conversion? Or i would need to do the conversion three times to generate the SNP PPMs (examples below)?
SNP PPM 1A
Activity 1 - Resource A
SNP PPM 1B
Activity 1 - Resource B
SNP PPM 1C
Activity 1 - Resource C
SNP PPMs are set-up per resource to monitor utilization and capacity per resource. Also, resources are set up per production line in ERP.

PPDS to SNP PPM conversion error log

Dear all,
Iu2019m facing an issue in PPM conversion from PPDS to SNP.
I have deleted the both PPDS & SNP PPM for a product/location combination & the corresponding PV has been made invalid.
I have created a new PV for the product/location combination.
When I execute CIF & conversion for the newly created PV, though system is generating both new PPDS & SNP PPMu2019s but at the same time it issuing error messages referring the deleted PPMu2019s in transaction /SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_LOG - SNP PPM Generation: Display Log.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue. More over I would like to know is there any table where the deleted PPMu2019s data is stored which system is referring while generating new PPMu2019s?

I am surprised at the behavior of system. PV is invalid and still it is giving error message.
Please try to CIF new PPM for newly created PV after making earlier PPM inactive.
If the above said option does not work.
I could suggest you to try this. Let's hope it works.
1) Delete all SNP and PPDS PPM for this product location combination.
Make sure PPMs are inactive and deleted.
2) Delete the PV which is invalid and maintain only one valid PV.
Now try to CIF it afresh.
As far as your last question is concerned.
all the plans can be accessed by table /SAPAPO/PLAN
You will get all the details about all PPMs in this table along with the status if PPM (Active/Inactive)

Please check if any single or multi-mixed resource has "Not SNP Rel. indicator" has been set on the Planning Parameters tab page is in the PPDS ppm.

Multiple Resource in SNP PPM

Hi Experts,
I have scenario where bottleneck resources changes with time. Lets say that I have two workcenters WC1 & WC2. Operation 10 will be performed through WC1 and operation 20 will be performed through WC2. SFG1 is input material for operation10 and FG1 is output material through WC2. So SFG1 will be processed through WC1 & WC2 and output material is FG1. Operation 10 & 20 are sequential operations. WC1 & WC2 have the same scheduling time for both the operations 10 & 20
Now, WC1 runs in three shifts in May'10 and WC2 runs 2 shifts in May'10. So WC2 is bottleneck resource in May'10. In June'10 WC1 runs in two shifts and WC2 runs in three shifts so WC1 is the bottleneck resource in June'10. Simply, bottleneck resource can be either WC1 & WC2 depends on time.
So in my routing I have two operations and operation 10 contains WC1 & operation20 have WC2. Further, we created Production Version (PV) and CIFed as PPM. When converting PP/DS PPM to SNP PPM I can chose only one mode so only one work center (resource) in one PPM and another work center in another PPM. We need both workcenters in one SNP PPM.
Could any one guide to meet this scenario.

Linking SNP PPM to desired ECC production version

Hi
We have a need where we manually create SNP PPMs and so the APO and ECC have no connection in terms of the PPM or production version.
I have two SNP PPM1, PPM2 in APO and I have two production versions in SAP ECC, VA and VB.
The requirement is to some how maintain a table in APO where we can choose to map the SNP PPM to ECC production version.
something like
SNP PPM1 and PPM2 both need to refer to version VB so that an SNP planned order pushed into ECC would automatically pick up production version VB.
Appreciate if any one can throw some light on how we can create a user maintained table or Z transaction in APO to achieve this.

Could you please let me know why you want to change the source of supply in ECC only?
Do you have PPDS? If yes then you can have one source of supply for that production version VB and transfer these orders to ECC system.
Apart from that if you want to do the development then check FM /SAPAPO/DM_PROD_ORDER_CHG_OLTP inside that with your own custom logic you can update the production version.

SNP Interactive Planning. Problems for SNP PPM plant

Hi All
Can you advise please why SNP interactive planning does not create SNP planned order when there are SNP and PP/DS related PPMs together.
And once i delete SNP PPM, SNP interactive planning creates SNP Planned Order without any problems.
Once i again create SNP PPM and run SNP interactive planning- it does not create planned order to fullfill demand.

Thanks! You solved a problem. PPM had maximum/minumum lot size 100 while in product master in Quantity determination max/min lot size fields were empty.
I've added the same values to product master as in PPM and run again SNP interactive planning.
And planned order was created.

SNP PPM Selection Criteria

Hi Experts,
I would be really glad if you could help me regarding this issue.
I have 2 Materials with 2 SNP PPMS. The SNP PPMS were generated by converting PPDS PPMS which was cifed from R/3. The production versions in R/3 has the same validity date.
Lets say for Material A:
- It has 2 production versions and 2 SNP PPMs
- PRD1 and PRD2
- when I had run the SNP location heuristic it had selected PRD1.
Material B
- It has 2 production versions and 2 SNP PPMS
- PRD1 and PRD2
- when I had run the SNP location heuristic it had selected PRD2.
May I kindly ask therefore how PPMs are selected by the APO system in the case of SNP PPMs running SNP location Heuristic? Unless I understand the process, I cannot still create alternative PPMs. I cannot always assign manually the Procurement Priority of all the PPMs generated.
I am really hoping you'd help me regarding this issue.

As you must be aware the basis for selection of ppm are 'quota arrangment' ,'procurement priority' ,'costs(multilevel cost)' ,'procurement type' .
Kindly refer to following link for more detailed information and how this ranking list can be changed. "http://help.sap.com/saphelp_scm2007/helpdata/en/1c/4d7a375f0dbc7fe10000009b38f8cf/frameset.htm ".
Also if all the parameters are same , it will refer to nomenclature of the ppm as the ppm name contains the version number ciffed from r/3.
For example, if there are versions "0001 " and "0002 " in r/3 and these versions are ciffed to APO to create ppm .
The snp hueristics will select the ppm of prod. version 0001 .

SNP PPM generation

Hi Guys,
I have PPDS PPM have 3 operation , in first operation there are 6 modes ,all are SNP relevant and second operation there are one mode and third operation there are 2 modes. second and third operation resources are not SNP relevant, While generating SNP PPM system gives error maximum no of mode combination exceeds.
The requirement is only 6 SNP PPM should be generated as there are 6 SNP relevant modes are there.

Hello,
With my experience SNP PPM generation can be a tricky business. Try this out...give the max number of PPMs possible as '99' and generate the PPMs. Then have a look at the number of PPMs generated and see what its doing. It should give you a fair amnt of idea wats going on.

SNP PPM schedule duration

Hi dear APO experts,
In SNP PPM, for each activity duration only days allowed. So if there are 2 activities in one PPM and each take 1 day, then SNP planned orders created with such PPM will take 2 days in scheduling. Is it possiblle to set the schedule duration to only 1 day in such case?

the details of SNP PPM is as below:
For example, the SNP PPM only have one operation and under this operation there are 2 activities -
activity 1 and 2, which are both of type Produce. Each activity will take a fix duration of 1 day. The sequence relationship between these two activities will be activity 2 to follow activity 1.

SNP PPM Generation after the delta change in PPDS PPM

Dear Colleagues,
In oss note 1172838 SAP AG states that there is no auto link to
generate SNP PPMs from PPDS PPMs,when PPDS PPMs are changed from R/3
and recommends the customers to do that manually.
Yes, that is possible if the company uses not more that 50-100 PPMs,
but that is not the case in our business.
We have ~10000 SNP PPMs and it is impossible to track the changes and
update the PPMs manually.
What we need (when there is a change in PPDS PPM) is a report which will:
1. Delete SNP PPM with invalid mode combination and the Production
(Planned) orders which use that PPM. The old SNP PPM must be deleted as
the existing name of SNP PPM is required.
2. Create a new mode combination taking into account the changes in the
PPDS PPM.
Then we will run transaction /SAPAPO/PPM_CONV_310 and generate the new
SNP PPMs.
Task in point 1 can be done with transaction /SAPAPO/PPM_DEL,
but it does NOT give us the possibility to select only SNP PPMs
with invalid/obsolete mode combinations. Besides that it can not be run in
background, but in foreground.
Would you share you experience if you have faced the same/similar problem.

Hi Senthil,
The problem is that the mentioned check does not work. I have even opened an oss message where I have got the following answer:
First you have to re-generate the SNP PPM (invalidity of the old mode combination will be generated) and then the
check will warn you about the invalidity.
This is so because at the first stage there is no issue of it being obsolete until a new one is created.
At the point that you Generate SNP PPM is when the mode invalidity is generated and not before. So its not possible for the warning to have come when there is no invalidity.
/SAPAPO/SAPLSCC_CPIT2 looks scary. There are tons of includes in it. Would you specify which one is used for the mentioned check? INCLUDE /SAPAPO/LSCC_CPIT2F09?
