SnS-Superuse cant delete video files

Hello all,
Is the following behaviour acceptable?
The default SnS superuser account cant delete other user's uploaded video files!!!
Instead, the video file must be deleted by the same user!
How do you tackle with this?
Thank you

I agree that it would be great if the superuser could delete any video file and I think it should be an option, but I have found that only the user that uploaded the file can delete it.

  • Is there a way to recover deleted video files from the finder folder

I recently and mistakenly deleted video files that were in my Finder folder, don't know why they were in there but that's another question, in doing this it also deleted them from IMovie and I have lost them unless someone out there know's different,

If you haven't emptied your trash, they should be there.
If not, they should be in your last Time Machine backup. (Or other backup.)

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Everything is fine.
    -They are the right format
    -Quicktime is updated
-I have tried simply dragging them into the 'movie' library
-I have tried going to file<add file to library
Nothing works, has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it?
    Any and all help appreciated.

In addition to Mike's suggestions,  you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

  • How to delete video files that do not work

    Hi there,
I am frustrated. I just want to delete video files from my iTunes because they will not work on my iPod...I don't care about all the technical ****, I just want to delete the files so that when I update my iPod, they are taken away.

Just locate the videos you want to delete in your iTunes library and delete them, simple as that.

  • How do I permanently delete video files?

How do I permanently delete video files?

Perhaps you do not have permissions to move the file.  Do a get info on a file you cannot delete. Open the details triangle.  Report back.
This seems rather odd.  Is the file on an internal or exernal disk?
You may want to run these "standard" fixes if the problem persists.
You should run disk utility to verify the disk and to update your permissions.
You may want to run applejack to clean up your machine.

  • Cant delete video or photos

I think its official, my husbands Playbook is dead! Well, kind of. It has never been synced/backed up and there are lots of videos of our son on it that I will not get rid of so I dont want to wipe it. I have tried a hard reset and everything. Read on another forum about trying to plug in the pb with the desktop software already running and the pb turned off. I do this and all it does is turn on the pb. Doesnt prompt me to sync it or update it or anything like the forums say they will. I cant manually network map it to my laptop to pull the files that way and I cant even delete videos or photos to clear up some room to be able to do anything. The videos just keep popping back up. None of the apps work either. HELP!! I can run the videos and watch them on the pb. Is there a back door way to hook up the pb to a TV then a laptop to the TV and record what is being played on the TV? HELP!!! The most I can figure out is that it is so full it wont process data or anything?

Firstly that "connecting to PC with Playbook off"  method is called debricking and WILL wipe it completely if you are successful so don't try it again!
Yiu say you can view the videos etc on Playbook but can't sync?
Ok, read the link and learn about moving files from playbook to pc by wifi. You can also delete them.

Once you are completely sure you have all the files safely on pc, you can wipe playbook in

I followed your steps but I got this message.... "USB data transfer mode activated. MASS MEMORY MAY NOT BE USED DURING THIS TIME."
Actually the video file was not there anymore in my File Mgr folder but the problem is the video file is still there in Video centre > My videos folder. When I tried to delete the file using "c" or Options > delete, the error says "Unable to delete. File video.mp4 is open."
I also tried to reset the phone to its factory settings but still video file was there.
I think this is a bug. Pls advice. Tnx in advance.

  • Tried to connect my ipod to TV through USB. Can play music but the TV cant detect video files

Hi. I have an ipod nano 4th generation. I am obsessed with Doctor Who but unfortunately I do not have BBc America. I watch from itunes on my PC. I would like to sync the shows on the ipod and watch on TV. I am aware i can purchase apple's A/V cable, but i have found that my TV also has a USB port. I plugged in my ipod and four menus came up, "video" "pictures" "music" and "settings". I can play music but the Tv wont find the video files on the ipod.
    Thanks!!!!

iTunes Match on your computer can give you the same higher quality files.
Run iTunes on your computer.  Show your music library by Song in list view.  Add the columns for Bit Rate, Kind, and iCloud Status to the list view.
Any song that is shown as Matched for iCloud Status, that is NOT already 256 kbps (or higher) for Bit Rate can be downloaded from iCloud at 256 kbps AAC.  For example, if you have an old album from a music CD that you ripped years ago at 128 kbps MP3, and it is "matched" by iTunes Match, you can replace the lower quality files you have now with 256 kbps Match AAC audio file (which is shown for Kind).
To do so, select the song, or a set of songs, on the library list.  Press Delete.  Confirm you want to delete the song (but do NOT check the box to delete song from iCloud) and choose to move song file to the Trash.  The songs remain on your iTunes library list, with a "cloud" download button next to the song name.
Click that button to download the song from iCloud.  Because the song is Matched, you get the replacement as a 256 kbps AAC audio file, instead of the original 128 kbps MP3 file (or whatever lower quality format it was before).
You can go through your iTunes music library, and replace lower quality Matched songs with higher quality versions, thanks to iTunes Match.

  • Deleted video files still take up disk space

Hey guys! I'm using a 13-inch rMBP, late 2013, running OS X 10.10.1. Yesterday I deleted more than 40GB of video files from my "Movies" folder, and emptied the trash can. However, the 40GB of disk space didn't appear as available. I looked online and tried everything like resetting trash can authorization and restarting Time Machine, but they did not seem to work.
Meanwhile, in my disk usage I see more than 100GB of "others". I used Disk Inspector to scan my Macintosh HD and found 109 GB of hidden files. I believe this is much more than it should be.
Only video files seems to have this problem. I also deleted 2GB of documents, and they seemed fine.
So any suggestions or anyone else experiencing the same problem? Thanks a lot!

Sure hope you aren't afraid of Unix...
From the wife's Mac, open Terminal (applications / utilities / Terminal)
For all of these type in's I say to do, do whats inside the quotes and not the quotes themselves. Or do a copy and paste if you aren't sure on a letter... And press Return after you type them in.
    Type in "cd /"
    Type in "ls -al"
You should see a .Trashes in here at the top of the list.
    Type in "cd .Trashes"
Type in "ls" here and see what you get. It will probably be a folder named 501 for the admin account from your Mac.
If so, do an "rm -R /.Trashes/501/"
    and watch your disk space.
If it complains to you that you don't have permissions, you will have to type in "sudo rm -R /.Trashes/501/"

  • Delete video files in iPhone

Can I delete the video files in iPhone without using iTunes? If so, can you tell me how. Thanks!

For video transferred from your iTunes library, swipe across the video in the iPod to bring up the Delete button for the video.
Apple includes a Safari bookmark on the iPhone for the iPod User Guide, which can also be downloaded on your computer here.

  • FCP Deleted Video Files

At least this is my best guess. I had cut together a one minute teaser this weekend. This morning, I decided I wanted to create a title in Livetype so I exported the video For Livetype. The first export went through fine, but I forgot to take out the existing title. So I deleted the title and exported the video again. I tried importing it into Livetype but it said the .mov files that were in the video didn't exist. So I look now and all the clips I had in the teaser are now gone. The clips I didn't use in the video but still have in my browser are all ok. I have no idea what happened and would like to know so it doesn't happen again. I'm pretty sure I have the clips backed up, but I don't want my computer to start deleting files.
If it makes a difference, all the files are on a 1TB Western Digital MyBook for Mac external HDD.

I am doing a file recovery right now and it looks like it's picked up a few video files that have been deleted. I just hope they are the ones that vanished.< </div>
Do not get your hopes up. There are usually some unrecoverable bit in media files. Another thing we've never had satisfactorily explained but the files are missing something subtle. You will likely get an unknown file type or cannot open the selected app error.
Before you go completely nuts, try deleting whatever extension the recovered files have and thn writing a new .mov extension to the filename or, if they were captured or exported from FCP, try adding that weird .fcp extension.

  • CANT DELETE VIDEOS

ITUNES WILL NOT LET ME DELETE UNWANTED VIDEO I HAVE ACCIDENTLY ADDED, CAN ANYONE HELP?

I'm having the same problem. I had some old Rocketboom.com videos on my hard drive that I didn't know I had. When I updated to iTunes 6.0 it added these videos to my iTunes library. The problem is that the files had a read-only attribute set. Windows/XP OS. Since the files have read-only permission, iTunes won't allow me to delete the files. So I deleted the videos manually from the OS, unfortunately iTunes still won't let me delete the video from iTunes, even though the videos no longer exist. UGH! iTunes does ask me if I want to "browse" and find the file. I tried pointing the library to a file that was deleteable, but iTunes still thinks the file is protected and won't let me delete the file. I'm stumped. I can't think of way to delete all these files from my iTunes video library. Any ideas?
