Snyc ipod

when i put the songs onto my ipod from itunes it does not put the songs in the same order as they are in on itunes. i arrange the songs in the order i want them and that is how they stay in itunes, but they will not go onto my ipod in that order. i have the latest version of itunes 7.4

It really helped me with the same problem that you are having, and NO I don't want a stinking playlist I WANT THE ALBUM TO PLAY LIKE IT SHOULD.
You have to do the fixes first *( select all the songs on that album and make sure that disk 1 of 1 is labeled and make sure that all of the Album and Album Artist fields are all IDENTICAL. some may have and extra space or one word that is mispelled, that is what is causing the problem)*
Then you have to delete the album with the jacked up order off your ipod (by deleting of off ITUNES. Then disconnect it and Add that album back to your Itunes Library, then connect your Ipod back up and IT should work then!
Hope that this helps!

  • Crashed hard drive now I need to Snyc ipod.....

Hopefully someone can help. My computer crashed and I lost all my songs saved on my hard drive. I re-installed a new hardrive and re-loaded itunes onto it. I downloaded the new software (7.2.whatever it is...). I can hook my ipod up to itunes and I can get all my songs and download new songs to my ipod and I can even copy all the songs I bought off of itunes (like 400) but I can't save the songs I burned from my c.d.'s to my library onto itunes. So basically if something happened to my ipod I would loose all my songs I burned from my c.d.'s that took me like 3 months and is over 3,000 songs!! (needles to say, this would suck big time).
If I "sync" my ipod will it take the blank playlist from itunes and erase all my music on my ipod or will it take my library on my ipod and copy it to my itunes leaving my ipod in tact? That is my question. Is there another way to back up all my music from my ipod?
Any and all help would be appreciated. Thanks.
    Tank

It will if you select "Yes" to replace your library with the new one. If you select no then the songs will remain. I don't have the hyperlinks handy for extracting the songs off the pod so you can then add the tracks back to the library. If you use the search option and use "ipod to PC" you should find a thread that has those links for you.
May I suggest you adopt a backup strategy? You should never only hold the songs on the pod as the sole storage unit. My library is 130gb and I have 4 copies of it, two are working copies (work & home) and the other two are backups that are on different media types.

iPod shuffle snyc starts then stops after 2 seconds

If there is nothing new to automatically sync to the shuffle from your iTunes library, the sync probably lasts about two seconds...
What are expecting the iTunes and the shuffle to do, when click the Sync button?

ipod nano 7th generation having issues with the UI. Out of box everything worked great. Once I snyc the device and it finished, the UI becomes unuesable. You have to double tap every icon in order to open music, videos, etc.  I cannot swipe to the second page of icons,  black box appears around an icon and then switches to a different one anytime I swipe. A box even appears around the time and battery power. iPod & iTunes are both updated. What is the FIX on this issue?

I had this problem as well.  This is what I found by searching online.  I tried the fix on my nano 7th gen and it worked.  I hope this helps you.  Make sure to use two fingers for sliding and double-click the icons to get into settings.  Good luck.
It would seem that Voiceover has been enabled on your iPod Nano. The following article contains information regarding Voiceover, and how to disable it once it's been enabled.
iPod nano (6th generation and later): How to use VoiceOver
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4317
To turn off VoiceOver on iPod nano using VoiceOver gestures
From the Home Screen, swipe right or left with two fingers until you see or hear "Page 2 of 2" on iPod nano (7th generation) or "Settings" on iPod (6th generation).
If the icons have been rearranged, or if there are more than four Home screens, you may hear something different.
Slide one finger around the screen until you hear Settings.
    Double-tap to open Settings.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear General, then double- tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear Accessibility, then double-tap.
Slide your finger up or down the screen until you see or hear VoiceOver, then double-tap.
Double-tap when you hear "VoiceOver switch button on."
You'll hear "VoiceOver off" to confirm the setting. Now you can use standard gestures to control iPod nano.
Note: You can also turn off VoiceOver by resetting your iPod.

is there any way I can get my play lists back to my iPod itouch as the last time I snyc my itouch it deleted them from my itouch and from my pc

While I can't help you get back Playlists that have been deleted (by iTunes!), I can hopefully help you stop that happening again. The latest version of iTunes (on 4th July 2012) is 10.6.3.25 and this version fixes the bug that has been present (in iTunes) for the last few updates.
So first of all, make sure you have iTunes 10.6.3.25 installed.
For any Playlist you created, you will simply have to compile them again from memory, or by starting again.
For the built-in Playlists that came with iTunes:
Recently Added - see the contribution from Jolly Giant in this post https://discussions.apple.com/thread/3022568.

  • Empty iPod, unable to snyc

    i've had my iPod for 7 months, a few weeks ago i updated it, only to find that there was no music on it at all. i then tried to update it again, with the same to happen again. i then went on to the apple help site, which told me to manually sncy my iPod, again nothing, still no music. so i went back to the apple help site and followed the RRRR method. yet again nothing, including updating to the latest iTunes libary. the message i always get when trying to sncy my iPod is;
"Songs on the iPod "***** iPod" cannot be synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist"
it was not till after all of this that i was told my nosey comeputer safety freak of a next door neighbour had deleted a lot of things off of the computer. i think that this involved some things to do with my iPod, what can i do to get it working again?
please help A.S.A.P, i'm lost without my iPod!
    iPod nano   Windows XP

    Hi 2-56,
It sounds like, before the problems occured, you were automatically syncing your iPod with at least a couple of playlists, possibly all of the playlists, in iTunes.
You are getting that message in iTunes when you now connect your iPod, because a playlist that your iPod used to be selected to sync with somehow got deleted.
As long as all of your music was backed up on your computer, this message is relatively easy to fix. While there could be a couple of different ways in solving this issue, I'm going to go ahead and pick one, which may not be the easiest way, but hopefully should work just as well.
Create a new playlist in iTunes (File > New Playlist). Name it whatever you want, but don't bother loading anything into that playlist, for now.
1 - Connect your iPod to your computer, and launch iTunes, if it isn't opened already.
2 - Click on your iPod's name in the Source List of iTunes (the left panel in iTunes).
3 - Go to the "Music" tab, and make sure that the "Sync" option is check-marked, with the "Sync Selected Playlists" setting selected, instead of "All songs and playlists".
4 - Now, deselect all playlists, except this new, empty playlist that you just created.
5 - Click the "Apply" button in the bottom-right corner of your iTunes screen, to save your changes.
Now, hopefully, your iPod will sync up again with iTunes, with nothing on the iPod.
From here, you can go back to the "Music" tab, and select the "Sync All songs and playlists" option. Again, click "Apply" to save your changes.
Again, your iPod should sync up with iTunes, and, hopefully, without any error messages or problems.
You can always create a new playlist(s), and go to the Music tab under your iPod's preferences, if you want to change what is selected to sync to your iPod.

  • New IPod nano will not snyc, message says a file not found

I have completed the 5Rs and Windows and ITunes recognize my IPod but it will not sync. Each time I plug it in I get a window saying it will not sync because a file is missing or something to that effect. Any suggestions? It's my birthday and I want to enjoy my new "toy"!

  • Ipod Nano won't Snyc

With the lastest versions of Itunes, my Ipod Nano stopped syncing. I've been trying to transfer new songs from Itunes to the Ipod. I've dragged them from the purchased list ti the Ipod library. The songs show up on the Ipod playlist on the PC but they are not actually on the Ipod itself. I have noticed lately that whenever I disconnect the Ipod from Itunes, I no longer get the message "syncing" on the Ipod. All get get is OK to Disconnect and the new songs are not on the Ipod.

Tried resetting it, then trying to turn it off?

  • My itunes library has gone following a laptop rebuild.  I do have my iPod which is up to date - can I transfer from the iPod to the library or will the iPod lose all its data if I snyc?

My itunes library has gone and is empty following a laptop rebuild.  I do have my iPod which is up to date with music, photos, apps etc - can I transfer from the iPod Touch to the library or will the iPod lose all its data if I sync to the laptop?  PLEASE HELP!

I'm guessing you've got iPod touch 2nd generation
iPod touch 2nd generation only goes up to 4.2.1, so you'll need a newer generation...
iPod touch 3rd generation only goes up to 5.1.1
4th and 5th generation both go up to iOS 6.1.3, wich is the current latest version.
    Hope this helps
