So...about those 100 new features?
dont get me wrong, i think the new software is awesome. but i dont see how it has 100 new features.
Some are up front and noticeable without looking, and some are under the hood so to speak with settings, etc.

100 New Features in iPhone OS 3.0? WHAT ARE THEY!?
I've noticed apple saying there are 100 new features in the iPhone OS 3.0. What exactly are they? I've watched the presentation video that was like over an hour long and there really are only maybe 20 new features mentioned. That is, as long as they're not counting 'cut, copy, and paste' as 5 different features since it works for mail, safari, notes, etc.
is there a list of the 100 new features? cause i want to know themI'm so simple that all I want is universal ringtones across all apps that have "alert" sounds (text messages, email, calendar- already available on phone calls & clock). Hate the provided sounds Apple gives us, would like to be able to assign specific music or self-made sounds so that I can hear them in a loud area, that are continual until answered, and that can be set as app-specific, just like ringtones can be caller-specific. Most phones have this feature, and I would use it daily, unlike many of the new features being touted. Anyone seen any mention of this (I watched the presentation, not mentioned). Oh, and please don't be a troll and tell me to contact Apple with a request- I do it on a weekly basis. Just looking for info, not basic noob advice.
BTW, I am soooo happy that MMS will finally be provided, as it will put an end to the "old" technology vs. use an email to send pictures argument so prevalent here. That particular back-and-forth has become quite aggravating. (Don't really care that much about MMS, rarely use it, but if it puts those arguments down, good for Apple.) -

The 100 new features in the 3.0 update?
Does anyone know what they were? I have the spotlight search, the landscape option for texting, the voice recorder but other than that, what is there? I don't have 100 new features like it said. I don't even have the videocamera. The one thing I wanted.
I am glad there was a copy paste added but it would have been nice to use your own ringtones and I don't understand why they could not use gps for the direction of the phone too.

"Over 100 New Features List" ??
Ever since the release of IOS4, I have heard the term "over 100 new features" thrown around, yet I can not find an official list of these features. Does anybody know where an official list can be found with each feature number listed out? I feel like it is just a hype term they have used, but it isn't documented anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

IOS4. Over 100 new features?
Can someone point me to more list of new features as highlighted by Apple. As I can only visibly see less than 10. Also, don't give me the explanation that most features are available only on the iPhone 4
Here is a link to the appadvice change-log with a few of the new features in iOS4 listed:

Question regarding suggestion of new features
I'm probably going to touch on a sensitive topic, but please hear me out. In working with some legacy systems and I have the need to deal with unsigned values. Needless to say this is difficult to do in Java. There are some work around solutions, but they are hardly ideal. I would like to suggest this feature be added to the language. The question I have is how do I go about suggesting a new feature and get the ball rolling? Is it as simple as forking and developing it all yourself hoping it gets merged in or does it mean you have to go through the JCP?
Thoughts?TuringPest wrote:
you still havent shown that you NEED unsigned ints.
That's kind of an odd statement. Let me see if I'm hearing you right. I don't NEED unsigned ints because I can always cast them up to longs, etc and handle them that way? Does the fact that one is not the other play a role? Say like I were to commit that back to a database (or worse, a binary file). I'd have to always do some conversion and handle an overflow possibility because I'm treating it as a long...
also, there might be another good reason beyond the fact that they arent really necessary:
the java opcodes were made to fit into a byte.
as it is now, a lot of those opcodes are used
for primitive conversions and every permutation of primitive arithmetic.
if they added 4 more primitives to the existing 6...Couldn't that statement apply to any language addition? "I'm sorry I shouldn't do it because I've only got a byte and need to save it for more useful stuff." -

PURPOSE
Explanation
기능으로 system time or systme change number(SCN) 기반 read-only view이다.
UNDO_MANAGEMENT = AUTO
SQL> ALTER SYSTEM SET undo_retention = 1200;
SQL> call dbms_flashback.enable_at_time('9-NOV-01:11:00:00');
Example1. Flashback setup 과 date/time 설정
1) Undo tablespace 생성
SQL> create undo tablespace UNDOTBS datafile

Example2. Flashback 으로 잃어버린 data recovery
1) test user 생성
SQL> connect testuser/testuser;
Connected.
SQL> create table emp_recover as select * from scott.emp;
Table created.
SQL> select count(*) from emp_recover;

Subpartition is State_code It's Only allow to insert the values is CT or NY
My understanding is correct or not.
Any one help me and thanks for ur reply.
Regards,
Suresh KumarHi
Partition is Product Code It's Only allow to insert the values is 101 or 201Yes.
Subpartition is State_code It's Only allow to insert the values is CT or NYNo. You have a subpartition with "default" and, therefore, any varchar2(2) value can be inserted.

Notifications About New Features Should Be In WebOS!
Palm,
Please listen, we all love your updates especially when new features like contact addresses can be launched in Sprint Nav. And I know from listening and personally talking with Jon Rubinstein how much he cares about the customer experience. But most of your customers like my mom or sister wouldn't know that update 1.3.5 had this new feature. I personally knew about it's existence but had to search on how to toggle between the two.
It's important you show off exciting new features and how to use them. My suggestion is to have pop-up tutorial after an update that says something like, "WebOS has just updated and there are new features on your phone now. Press here to learn about them." This would launch an animated guide. Otherwise the only way most people will find out about them will be by accident if at all.
Please make this happen and thanks for all the great work.
Post relates to: Pre p100eww (Sprint)I agree with you. A lot of easter egg features. I think some people like that, but for the common user who does not like searching for these hidden things It can hinder there experience.
I don't know if I would like the tutorial on the phone idea though. I mean in theory its nice, but those will add to the download time. And sometimes when those updates are released, they don't exactly come speeding fast regardless of wifi or not.
I think instead what would be nice, with the ability to watch flash in the web browser coming soon, maybe just include a link that pops up, or one you can click in the Update App that directs the browser to a flash showing the new features. Would not force everyone to download extra files, and have the option of viewing it from any PC if you want.
