So BB "ordered enough to cover pre-orders?"

It has been repeated ad nauseum on this board that BB "ordered enough iPhones to cover pre-orders" but were at the mercy of how many Apple actually sent them. I would really like to meet the psychics that BB employs. That order from Apple had to have been placed well before the pre-orders even started. So how did BB know how many pre-orders they were going to have?

It is quite simple really.
1, BB and Apple should have had a pre-arranged and agreed upon launch day stock allotment quantity.
2, Based on that quantity allotment, BB Corporate would advise quantity distrbution to individual stores, based on the store's overall sales performance.
3, Thereby, the stores themselves should have known from the beginning how many they were supposed to receive, if Apple delivers the pre-arranged allotment.
4, This store allotment quantity is confidential and cannot be disclosed to public per BB policy. This is their practice and cannot be called into question.
To recap, each store should know from the get go how many they expect to receive. Assuming they receive the expected quantity, they should also be able to inform their customers the likelihood of pre-orders being fulfilled.
All BB can do is assume that Apple will fulfill their delivery promise. What is upsetting everyone is that not only do we not know what each store is going to get, we do not even know what each store is allowed to receive as determined by BB Corporate.
Alas, BB has disavowed all responsibilty for customer satisfaction in the handy FAQ. As pre-orderers, according to BB, we did not have reason to believe in launch day delivery, even when reinforced by BB salespeople.
I will stop now as I have restated my points many times, it is a sad way of venting for me so thanks to everyone for putting up with my comments!

Black title screen not large enough to cover video: see edges of underlying video

Hello users,
I am trying to use black title screens to display names of songs which are to appear for 5 seconds before fading and then showing the performer.
I have the title screen on the track 2, above the video on track 1.
I can see a very slight but noticable edge of the video all around the title screen. I see this on my Sony pro production monitor and on my Plasma TV.
How can I eliminate that? I thiought I could just enlarge the title screen but I see no way to do that.

I see now, the little window that pops when doing "new, title" let's you specify the title size. Why can't we just be able to change that in the properties at the right? What if you have already created a slew of titles?

My BB is not putting pre orders into a number priority system...urgh!

I called and asked what number I was, and she said they weren't doing numbers. She said that it's based on when your appointment is.
How can they not prioritize orders by time and date? !?
She did say she expected to get enough to cover all pre orders.

That's my beef as well. Their own manual states they must number each order.
I mean what sense does it make to give someone an early appt time that ordered after me. And then I may not end up receiving a phone.

I'm going to pre-order my iphone4 on the 15th, but how will the order process work with working out a monthly contract with 02/orange/vodafone.
I'm confused because if you look at the current store/iphone3gs you can only buy the handset and no contact involvement.
Does this mean that I will have to order through the 02 store itself and forget about apple.com
I will be a new 02 or orange customer and will require a new micro-sim plus my currrent number moved over from old network.

Can I Cancel Pre-Order to get an iPhone at AT&T or Apple?

I know this may sound stupid to some of you. But would it be quicker if I just get an iPhone from a local AT&T or Apple store? Or are they sold out and Back-ordered as well?

In the chicago area, there are ZERO iphones to be had. ATT stores state they only have enough for their pre-orders, and will be short on that probably. Apple stores state 2 weeks at least to get one without pre order.

Down Payment processing for Sales orders using Milestone Billing Plan

The business scenario is as follows.
The delivery for the sales orders are to be created only after the pre payment( a percentage of the total sales order value) is made by the customer.
Hence the sales orders while creation are blocked for delivery creation using credit block by means of a userexit.
The credit manager checks the blocked sales orders using VKM1 transaction and verify if there are any payments made by the customer to cover this pre payment to be made.
If it is enough to cover then he releases the sales order manually for delivery creation.This is a complex process since there are too many sales orders and the payments made by the customer may not match the amount to be paid(it can be greater or lesser).The customer just pays a huge amount which is to be distributed among the sales orders for pre payments.
Later, when the invoice is created, the customer account is cleared manually using F-32 transaction for the oldest open invoices.
Here again there is a huge manual effort involved since he need to distribute the amount against the invoices using oldest open item principle.
As a solution we are planning to implement "Down Payment processing for Sales orders using Milestone Billing Plan".
Is this the right solution?
Can you please give the steps in detail to implement this functionality for above scenario?
We are using SAP 4.7 version without Project Systems.

I have had a verizon cell phone for 13 years and have gotten your cable/internet/phone when i moved out on my own because i had been so happy with the experience i had with the cell phone service. i ordered my new iPhone 6 on October 6th along with my husband. i was told by the sales associate at the vierzon store where i placed the order that it would ship a week before halloween. instead of a shipping confirmation, i received an email a week before halloween letting me know that my order had been placed on 10/24/14. i thought this was weird, but figured i could weight another week or two, no big deal. my husband got his phone in the mail yesterday. still no sign of mine. then this morning i got an email letting me know that my order was cancelled and if id like to place another order for a phone, then i can go back to the store and do so. why would i want to go through another month of this??? verzon lost my order. i never canceled it and i am beyond annoyed. i am looking to switch my entire house to another provider. this is ridiculous.

i did not get any reasons or explanations. the email just stated that my order was canceled and that it won't be posted to my credit card (i have more than enough to cover the cost, so that is not the issue). also my husbands phone was paid for from the same card moments before me. my balance is always paid automatically and on time. so that couldn't be the reason either. that's what so frustrating is because they didn't explain what happened. this is what the email read exactly:
"This email is to confirm that your order has been cancelled; you have not been billed for this merchandise.
If you would like to place a new order, you may do so by visiting your local retail store or going online to www.verizonwireless.com.
Business customers should refer back to their local Verizon Wireless Sales Representative if you have any questions or would like to place a new order.

it almost feels like its saying that i canceled it and that this was to confirm that i did. but i didn't cancel anything.

How to reflect auto-rebranding of Sales Order in SNP Planning?

Hi Experts,
We have a scenario wherein we have branded product and unbranded product.
-Customers are billed for branded product
-Demand Planning forecast for the branded product
-Invetory will be on unbranded product and I can say that we plan for the unbranded product.
Sales order document will have the branded product in the document. Before the creation of delivery and GI, there will be a stock movement from unbranded to branded product..
In terms of how to model this in APO SNP Planning, I am thinking of using either
(1) Form Fit Function --> branded and unbranded in one class and the unbranded as leading prouct
(2) phantom assembly --> unbranded as component of branded product.
The trick now is that there are cases that they stock for the branded product. So in case there is stock in branded product and its enough to cover the whole quantity of sales order, there will be no rebranding and they will ship for the branded product.
This is where I am having problem modellign in APO SNP. I hope you can help me. Thanks.

" A sales BOM is not a
planning relevant BOM hence the components must not be transfered in
standard to SCM system. This was introcued with note 398610.
If you need to transfer this items to APO, even if the BOM is not
planning relevant then your have to use a BADI to overwrite here the
standard behavior. Check here note 929975 and related notes.
The filtering is done in prgramm SAPLCUSLNTRTO
FORM CUSLNTRTOX_CHECK_APO_RELEVANCY
IF is_itm_data-sanfe <> marked
OR is_itm_data-objty EQ gc_obj_3.
ev_delete_flag = marked.
So you have to overwrite here this value to get this items transfered.
But anyway is is then out of standard, as a planning system needs only
planning relevant data. "

Songs from Concert won't play in order

I purchased and downloaded a live concert. I can't get the ipod to play the songs in the order they should be played. They are fine in my main folder. But the ipod won't play them correctly. The concert was long enough to cover 3 cds. I created a playlist with just the first set songs and a second with the 2nd set songs and encores. They appear in the correct order in the playlist, but they won't play correctly when I select the playlist.

Is there anything systematic in the order in which the songs do play? For example, is it ignoring the fact that you may have two albums with the same name and similar track numbering and the only thing distinguishing them are the CD number?

MRP - VB type deletes already created purchase orders

Dears,
Recently sth happened with MRP planning for materials with VB (reorder point) type at my client.
If stock is below reorder point MRP generates requisition correctly. But when requisition is converted to purchase order and delivery date is changed (+ few days) a new MRP run suggests to delete such purchase order and creates new requisition with delivery day = today.
1st clue I had was to check planning horizon period in SPRO but it's 30 days so any purchase orders within this period created with reference to MRP requisitions should be "visible" for MRP.
Planning mode is standard (adapt).
Do you have any idea what could happen?

I've checked this. VB type seems to be unchanged - SAP standard settings. As far as I know there are 4 factors that have influence on reorder point planning:
1. Material mater data - MRP type and reorder point level
2. MRP type settings - VB in this case is a SAP standard
3. Config - planning horizon (in this case long enough to cover diffrences in delivery dates between PREQ and PO dates)
4. Planning parameters:
Processing key          NETCH
Create purchase req.    1
Delivery schedules      3
Create MRP list         1
Planning mode           1    (adopt - normal mode)
Scheduling              1
Parameters seems to be correct but system still recreates PREQs and wants to delete POs...This is very odd behaviur. I'll try to find sth in OSS.

Chrome Protector until you get yours ordered/delivered.

Hey guys, I (like many of you) am worried about scratching my chrome backing until I get my cover that I ordered. Well today I found a quick fix until then and guess what!? Apple gave it to you in your box! I just took the plastic screen protector (with the tab on it) and peeled it off and put it on the back. I know it's not enough to cover the edges, but at least you can set it down now without worrying about it!

yeah you do have it. when u first get your ipod touch it comes with some plastic wrap on it, stuck on the front to stop it from scrathing in the box, just keep it on basically. although you probably threw it away already

Will an apple time capsule have enough range for a 2 floored house?

I am willing to buy an apple time capsule of 2TB, my house has 2 floors and my purpose of buying this router is that i have a good connection downstairs. Questions like this always boil down to the the same answer......you will not know how the wireless device will perform in your home until your try it out there.
For that reason, you should understand the store's return policy in advance before you buy.
As a very rough guide......
A typical wall constructed of sheetrock and 2 by 4s will absorb....on average....about 15-20% of the wireless signal.
A typical ceiling will absorb 25-35% of the signal because of its more dense construction.
So, after 3-4 walls, or a ceiling and several walls, there won't be much of the wireless signal left.
I have about a 2400 square foot home, and it takes 4 AirPort routers to deliver the performance that I need.....a fast, very reliable wireless connection anywhere in the house and out in the patio area.

Store allotments of games like this typically depend to some degree upon the number of pre-orders that they take. By pre-ordering, you have initiated the process for the store to get at least enough to cover the pre-orders that they receive. While there are occasionally delays in shipping, stores should receive the game in time to have it available to you on the release date.
Even in the unlikely event that it isn't available that first day, however, your copy will be set aside as soon as it does arrive.

My BB huge store but only receiving 15 phones nice good job best buy

A store as huge as #559 and receiving scraps. My advice is to avoid taking 100 preorders next time. I for one will never shop at best buy again.

I don't get how you can blame Best Buy for this at all. From the get-go they've been up front with customers explaining that they have NO IDEA what kind of inventory they will receive. If you look at some of the leaked inventory and order lists out there, you'll see that they ordered more than enough to cover their pre-orders. They have no control over what Apple decides to ration to them. Even though they may have ordered 100, Apple can say "Sorry, you're only getting 5 on 6/24".
Further, while your experience may have differed, by pre-order sales rep explicitly told me - almost as if reading from a script - that "Although Best Buy *expects* to receive ample inventory on 6/24, we cannot guarantee that we will receive ANY devices on launch day. The only guarantee we are making to you is that you will get the (insert pre-order # here)th device we receive. If we receive the (pre-order #) device on 6/24 it's yours. Otherwise, when we get it, YOU GET IT."
I'm not involved with Best Buy in any way, shape or fashion -- I just think it's completely unfair to blame them for this fiasco when they're in the same boat we are.
