So called "Expert Day" on Jan 11-12, 2011

This image on the HP site says the expert day is the 11 thru the 12th, so why has it ended already?
I noticed that hardly ANY of the posts for help users were answered.  Where were the experts yesterday?
I also looked at all users in the forum for printers and there wasn't one single Pro or Expert listed as a user out of approx 682!
Why were so few questions answered, practically zero solved, and no Pros or Experts in the forum?

Dear Mr. Matthews:   The time frame was noon on the 11th to noon on the 12th.  Yes, that's 24 hours, all right.  But wouldn't a lot of people have thought it would encompass workdays on the 11th and 12th?  (8  - 5,  etc)
Had I known the clock started ticking at 1200  hours on the 11th and stopped at 1200 hours the 12th, I might have received some assistance.
The "Expert Days" event are held a few times a year and bring in an extra hundred or more experts from HP and other areas.  While there are more experts on hand on these days (and more people here posting questions) the forums are open 24/7/365.  There are experts here every day answering questions.  But if you do not post a question you will not get a reply....
Find an appropriate sub forum for your topic and look near the top of the page for suggestions on how to ask good questions.  Provide plenty of details of the issue including your computer or printer model, what operating system and what exactly the issue you have, including any error messages.

    Schedule of Expert Day Events
    What is HP Expert Day?
    Expert Day is an event when HP product team members and other employees join our online HP Support Forums to answer your toughest technical questions, even for products that are out of warranty. Expert Days give you a chance to talk directly with the people who designed and made the HP products you’re using, or who wrote the manuals for them.
    This event has been called the “Super Bowl” of expert assistance, providing you with a day of free access to a wealth of internal and external technical experts.  We always have employee Experts (signified by the HP label) on the forums, but on Expert Day, employee Experts  are joined by many other HP employees to help get your problems resolved.
    The HP Expert Day events take place in several languages around the world and typically last 8-24 hours.
    Why should you come to Expert Day?
    Whether you own a Photosmart printer, HP Envy notebook or an HP home desktop computer, there has never been a better chance to learn about your product.
    When do you have a chance to talk directly with the people who designed the product or wrote the manual for it?
    This is your chance to connect with the best and brightest minds at HP for free.
    We’ll share our knowledge on the best ways to:
    Troubleshoot the issue you are having;
    Set up a Wireless network;
    Tweak your product to increase performance;
    Safeguard your PC from viruses and spyware;
    Choose the right video card, power supply, or add the right amount of memory;
    Use the tools built into your product that can make it run better and fix common problems.
    It doesn’t matter how old the product is or what it is connected to. We will do our best to help.
    And, best of all, it’s FREE.
    How do Expert Day events work?
    Come to the Forum and post your questions. More than 150 experts will be on the Boards and will do their best to answer your questions. They may need to get some more information from you so please check the box "email me when someone replies."  An online conversation will be born!

    You can also run Apple Hardware Test in Extended Mode to test it. Neither that nor a PRAM reset will affect your data. I suspect if it finds it the result will be a graphics card failure. You can also take it to your local Apple Store or AASP for professional evaluation. IMHO if it's the graphics card you may want to consider replacing the computer. FWICT it appears to be 4+ years old so it's probably time.

    Enterprise Business Forum: January 14th 7:00am to 12:00pm and 6:00pm to 11:00pm Pacific Time
    Korean Forum: January 15th 10am to 6pm Korea Time
    Simplified Chinese Forum: January 15th 10am to 6pm China Time
    Looking forward to seeing you on January 14th!
    I am an HP employee.

    My HP, purchased in June 2012, died on Saturday.  I was working in recently installed Photoshop, walked away from my computer to answer the phone and when I came back the screen was blank.  When I turned it on, I got a Windows Error Recovery message.  The computer was locked and wouldn't let me move the arrow keys up or down and hitting f8 didn't do anything.
    I'm not happy with HP.  Any suggestions?

    I had this exact same issue on a Spectre XT Pro Ultrabook.
    The original SSD failed and I was sent a replacement, was fortunate enough to be able to create a Recovery USB stick using the wizard in Windows. When booting from USB I received the message "You are not able to restore this system with the media".
    SOLUTION: You must NOT use the Recovery USB stick in any USB3.0 port (labelled SS). Using another USB port prevented this exact error message from appearing and I was able to complete the system restore process.
    I hope this helps someone, I signed up and posted here especially for this reason!

  • My app seems to consume an enormous amount of API calls every day? Please help!

    I am tired and sad and frustrated here, and feel like a total moron. I am very sorry if my post is too long and not very well put together, but im beggin anyone with some experience here to please give me some advice.
    I am currently testing out a app I have created to let people add events, search for events, comment on and get notified about changes in events they have signed up for. I have used Azure Mobile Service for this, and it all seems to have worked well. This is
    mostly a learning app for me, since I am very much a noob.
    Now we are nearing launch of the app, and I have started to look at the numbers in Azure. I am on the free version right now, where 16k api calls a day are free (will move to priced tier on launch) - but the numbers look completely off the hook here!
    Every day 2-3 devices seem to run up 600-700 API calls. I do run the testing app hard, of course, but I guess some user might do that to.
    So - 4% of the daily free calls are consumed by 3 devices. That means 33 users could fill the quota, and the first paid tier only gives room for 300 users.
    Am I reading something wrong here? Is my app then not viable? I think it, even with my noobness, has a potentil to get a few thousand users. Does that mean Im gonna have to go to the top tier? Because I can not afford that.
    Over to the stack part of the question:
    I log the user in, I create the tables, and then when they hit search I do something like this:
    eventenItemList = await eventenTable.Take (200).Where (item => item.Dateandtimeend >= DateAndTimeIn).
    Where (item => item.Dateandtime <= DateAndTimeInEnd).
    Where (item => item.Fylke == fylke).
    Where (item => item.Pris <= MaksPris).ToListAsync ();
    I would expect that to be a single API-call, but it seems to run up tens of calls - just there? How is that possible?
    When the user is not in the app, I run a background service in Android that goes through a local db of events the user has created and then checks against the db for any changes to them. I do that like this:
    var table = db.Table<MyEvents> ();
    foreach (var e in table) {
    eventenItemList = await eventenTable.Where (item => item.Id == e.EventId).ToListAsync ();
    if (eventenItemList.Count == 0) {
    } else {
    //I here notify the user that something new is up - and what it is. Time changed, comments or whatever.
    Im guessing this is stupid of me, since it probably makes one API call for each loop here? But in the numbers it just seems to do 2 calls - like I expect it to.
    I am horribly lost here, people. I ran around a hundred random clicks around the app this evening - and racked up over 1500 api calls. I have been cold sweating since that. Any advice or info about how this api call-system works would be very much appreciated.

    Replying here in case someone else stumbles upon this post. This question was handled on SO:http://stackoverflow.com/questions/28685710/app-consumes-an-extreme-amount-of-api-calls-in-azure

  • EXPERT DAY REQUEST!!!!! Laserjet M602 postscript feature values (specifically, "setpagedevice")?

    Pasted previously on the Community Home/Printing and Digital Imaging/Printers - LaserJet forum but thought I'd take advantage of the "HP Expert Day" and so am copying the posting on the "printer and all-in-ones" board:
    I have just spent two hours trying without success to find the values that the Laserjet M602 recognises in the postscript "%%BeginFeature" dictionary block for "setpagedevice"; to select the input tray mostly but other stuff in general. Does anyone know where this info can be found? I don't have much hair left to pull out...!
    NB I'm on UK time (i.e. Pacific time + 8 hours...)
