So ELP patch is out, but my MBP keeps skipping Letters (HLP problem?)
As you know, there is a lot of people with ELP problem PLUS some randomly skipped letters (for example "alocco" instead of "allocco", "abc34" instead of "abc345").
Now, having ELP problem solved, it would be better to open a new thread concerning the other part of the problem.
Did anyone hear anything about any solution? Local customer care told it is MS Office API'S fault (LOL) and wanted to format.... I have no spare time to lose with these strange ideas.
I'm gonna ask and PRETEND for a substitution when the new penryn models come out.
Do you enjoy responding to your own posts? Anyway, I do have the problem you describe and, of course, the keyboard fix did absolutely nothing to fix it. With my MBP, it seems it's mostly the leter "t" that doesn't register ... as in the word "letter" I just typed missing the "t" that I know I typed. Most frequently, it happens at he beginning of a word ... the word "the" frequently comes out as "he" and spell check doesn't cach it. Ha ... another missing "t". I have to say this really bites and it might well be my first, and last Mac.

I like and use Top Sites but it has become unsuable with this constant blacking out and reloading the thumbnails. My MBP has not seen a problem at all.
I have been searching every other day for over a month trying to find a fix in Windows Safari with no joy. I want to resolve, not switch browsers. Please offer up a solution that only refreshes the Top Site thumbnails once a day or as some controlable interval. Started about two versions ago, now on ver 5.1.5. Windows 7 64bit.
Safari 5.1.5 for Win64 bit, Windows 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I think I solved the wifi connection problem, just by switching off completely the router! sounds trivial, but in this case it worked!!!

Usb2 in specs but 12 Mbps in real life ??

I own a 2004 iMac flat panel (20", 1.25 GHz G4, Mac OS 10.3.9).
In the specs, it's supposed to be equipped with three usb2 connectors.
If I go to the system information, 2 buses are said to be limited to 12 Mbps, and a third one is said "high speed", but never shows any device.
The mac is connected to :
1. a Canon Pixma MP110 printer (officially usb2 High Speed, but 12 Mbps in the sys info)
2. a usb hubb (leading to Apple keyboard and logitech wireless mouse)
3. occasionnally to a digital camera or a iPod nano (and hopefully, if this problem is solved, to a usb2 camcorder in the future). All appear in the "normal" 12 Mbps usb listing in sys info.
How to get the advertised 480 Mbps usb2 ?

iMac G4 1.25 MHz 20" Mac OS X (10.3.9)USB doesn't encrypt data.
USB 2 (High Speed USB is Apple System Profiler) is designed at 480Mbits per second which is 60MB per second. This real life this turns out to be a burst speed that the design of the protocol cannot sustain for long periods. There are overheads in the form of digital coding that will reduce this theoretical maximum too
USB1.1 (The type built in to older Macs) is designed at 12Mbits per second which is 1.5MB per second. Again overheads will be seen on this protocol. The USB Developers reckon upon you getting about 0.9MB of bandwidth.

The first image shows how ASP lists that I have 4 USB connections only one of which is High Speed. The second image shows the USB2 (green dots) devices I have connected and the Red bars show the physical USB2 connections I've made.
In conclusion ASP is not an accurate list of the true USB hierarchy. This is probably due to their being spare USB buses in the iMac for Airport, bluetooth and modem data connections (not sure which though).
I'm not sure why your printer isn't listed as USB2 (mine says 480Mbps) but other than that all is normal - you aren't been shortchanged. All actual USB2 devices will be listed under the one High-Speed USB heading when they are in use.
I would recommend getting a Firewire connected DV Camcorder if possible as Firewire is a better protocol from Digital Video and Firewire plays nicer with iMovie (which is what I suspect you want).

I have a mid 2009 Macbook Pro and i know the Mini-display port does not support audio out but does it support HDMI out? or do i have to buy a Mini-display to DVI and then a DVI to HDMI adapters?
Run MDP to HDMI for picture. Use a cable like this to run sound from your audio out on your Mac to your TV's audio in. That's about all you can do.

A month ago my iPhone was stolen, I turned on Activation Lock but it never came out BUT an hour ago somehow my apple ID was changed and someone removed from the account both my iPhone and iPad and the iPad was also remotely wiped. As soon as I saw it I recover the password and return the access to my iPad. But iPhone is not registered for my apple ID any longer. Can Apple help me somehow? I have all the documents and the iPhone box. Will they lock the iPhone and return me access to it. I'm sure it's been attached to another apple ID.

I have the newest version of the iPad (3rd generation) with wifi. The messaging won't send out but I'm receiving messages from others when I'm using it. They also come through on my iphone at the same time. But I can't send them out on the iPad. I tried someone's suggestion of changing the DNS to 8.8.8.8 and that did not work to fix it. What is wrong with this thing? Thank you in advance for your help.
Are you trying to send a message to a cell number or an email address? iPad does MMS, not SMS, meaning it can't send a message to a number. It can send a message to an email address........

Hi there can anyone help. I am connected to the Internet by Ethernet but my connection keeps timing out and my network diagnostics shows all green and network connection ok but still no Internet connection. the other wireless laptop in my flat works well. Could the other wireless laptops being used in my flat be affecting my connection. what can I do to get connected, keep connected. Thanks for any ideas out there.
My network connected for a few hours then went back to timing out. I have not changed anything. However there four additional laptop users in my family who do not seem to be having any problems using their wireless connection. Could their film and music downloads be causing the timing out of my connection and if so is there a way I could prioritizes my computer or limit their use?

Just recently my iphone 4s speakers started acting up. I have restored it twice once to a back up and the other time as a new phone. The speakers get really staticy on full volume and then it cuts out but if I turn down the volume and blow air into the speakers it goes back to play fine until I turn up the volume again. I'm going to try to clean it out with a toothbrush and see if that helps. But I'm curious does this seem more like a hardware problem or is it a problem with the operating system and I should try to hold out until ios 6 comes out and see if that helps. I've read all the problems with this so I'm hesitant to send it in since there is no apple store around here and find out I have to pay to get it fixed. Tried to talk to them on the phone but since it's a week past ninety days I would have to purchase apple care in order to get any help but yet that's only available for 30 days after your purchase so I'm not sure how come they can offer that over the phone. Thanks for any help.
Thanks for the help. The problem just started suddenly. The problem I have is the closest Apple Store is 3 hours away so I would have to send it in and I don't want to send it to them and then be told I'd have to pay for it. Would they just send the phone back if you decide not to have it fixed. I will probably just get used to it or maybe it will fix itself one day.

i upgraded to lion when it first came out but today i tried to open my photoshop cs2 and its telling me the powerpc applications are no longer supported is there any fix out there for this
Lion is Not compatible with PPC (Power PC) based software, such as your older version of PhotoShop. Your choices are you can either upgrade to the newer version of PhotoShop, or you can backup your data and apps, erase your harddrive and reinstall Snow Leopard.
