I can assume that you're using IE11, and probably with Windows 8.1.
This is a known problem with Internet Explorer 11, which Microsoft has been aware of since October 18 when they released their latest "untested" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player. So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using an different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Opera (from Opera)
Safari (from Apple)
Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in.

I have been using flash player to watch foxnews and it has recently started reseting the volume to 0

I have been watching fox news .com using flash player and the web site is set for auto play. As it advances to the next news story the volume keeps being reset to zero at the start of each segment. This is very annoying since I must turn the volume up on the adobe control panel before I can hear the segment. Is this intentional or can it be fixed?

Okay, That's NOT in Flash Player but in the web page. It's read and displayed by Flash Player, but the code for it is embedded in the page as part of the video, the "minimum volume setting" could be a "cached" setting in your browser. Try clearing your cache and history, but there ISN'T any setting in your Flash Player plugin that can change or set volume for websites.

Cannot use Flash player after 10.2, have to keep reverting back to that version or earlier.

I am frustrated. I cannot use any flash versions later than Adobe® Flash® Player Installer/Uninstaller 10.2 r159 . If I update to version 11 or later I cannot watch any flash videos. The audio will play but the video freezes and pauses.
I have been trying to find a solution to this issue, versions 10.2 and earlier work fine but ever since the new flash was released and I have tried to update, I run into the same problem and have to revert back to 10.2 or earlier.
I thought maybe it might have been the video card but I had it replaced and same issue and I have two other notebooks with the same exact hardware but different OS and they are able to use Adobe 11 just fine.
The issue is also present when using Linux (Ubuntu).

I would like if someone could help me with this issue. I am frustrated becasue sites are 'requiring / mandating' that I update to Adobe 11 but if I do so I cannot use part of the site, for example Facebook or Youtube.

That seems to have solved the problem.
Question though, why does turning the hardware acceleration off make the videos play better in high definition? I'm kinda baffled.
My video card driver is nv4_disp.dll , version 6.14.0012.6658, date 1/7/2011
I have tried many different Nvidia drivers trying to solve that issue and even had the video card replaced thinking it was the cause, but had the same problem with a new video card so thought I would try here.
Seems to work for me though now with the lastest version of flash but still I am confused why this is so.

Sounds like it is blocked for the website you are at. Check with this:
You can quickly test whether a recently added plug-in is causing problems by blocking it.

you can use scaling or textformat differences in individual (one for each line) textfields for that effect or you can use the displacementmap filter on a single textfield. using the displacementmap filter is more difficult.

Video Pixelation occurs while recording the video using flash player

Hello,
I am recording the video using flash player 9 ( using the
flash media server 2.0 on the back end). Everything used to work
fine in the past. The quality of the flv video was good. Now
suddently, I have started seeing the pixelation in the recorded
video (very poor video quality). Nothing has been changed in the
code. However on the server side, I am not very sure if there is
any windows update has taken place and have caused the problem with
the codec on server.
However my understanding is that when we record the video
then flash player use its own codec not the flash media server.
Can any one help me on how I can get rid of pixelation
issues?

I might not be understanding the question right, but if you
are using Flash
Player 6, and the Flash Player 6 video player component, you
can resize the
video by resizing the component on the stage (just drag and
make it larger).

I was able to solve my problem by modifying the solution
offered in
this
technote.
The technote identifies a permissions problem with the
components directory of non-Safari browsers. In my case the
permissions problem appears to have been in the main
/Library/Internet Plug-Ins directory. What tipped me off to the
solution was the fact that after manually removing Flash
Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt from the /Library/Internet
Plug-Ins directory, subsequent attempts to install Flash Player
resulted in the "Creating file: 1008:5, -5000 Access Denied Error"
I remembered seeing in the technote. Before removing these files,
the installer would just fail silently, perhaps because it saw
files it was going to install already living in the right place,
and furthermore had no permissions to alter the directory.
In any case, by making the permissions change recommended in
the technote to the /Library/Internet Plug-Ins directory, I was
able to install the plug-in, which gave me back access to Flash
content in all my browsers.
Hope this is helpful to someone else...

Black screen after using flash player 3 or 4 times

I've had this problem for a long time: After having played three or four videos using flash player for example, my screen turns completely black and I have to force a shut down of my PC. With how much flash is still used in browsers, this is extremely annoying and a waste of my time.

I updated my flash player and my graphic driver and the problem still occurs. I also turned of the hardware acceleration as stated in the following article: Video playback issues but it remains the same.
I registered this as a bug: Bug#3863932 - Video playback issues but I am uncertain whether this will actually be solved sooner there or here on the forums... So I've decided to try both.
Please help!

Yeah, that was always the problem: Hardly anyone CAN reproduce it. I've checked my hardware and drivers though and I've re-installed windows completely just because of this bug, thinking it might be some virus or sth, but nothing like that helped.
And so far, I couldn't find any steps to reproduce, or anyone who also has this problem.
I had my brother, who has a masters degree in computer sciences, try it out and he didn't know any solution or any reason either. :I You can just tell me if this is hopeless, I won't be mad, but really, a video would just show you exactly what I told you.
There's nothing else to it. No mysterious thing I'm doing wrong. I wish it was something like that, honest
Also, it doesn't happen with specific youtube videos. I tried mixing up the order of the videos and it happened again, after starting the 3rd or 4th video (also happens when facebook had this automatically-starting-videos-thing, which was especially fun, as you can imagine, so it's not website-specific either, sadly)..

Playback ok if using Flash Player 10.0 with Flash Media Interactive Server.
1. Record live using Flash Media Interactive Server
2. Attempt to play back resulting flv using Flash Player 10.1 and Flash Media Interactive Server.
Video plays ok for a few seconds and then plays faster than as recorded -- very jerky.
Audio plays at normal rate.
OS: Windows 7 64bit (two different machines. All updates installed.)
Web browser: FireFox 3.6.10 and IE8 8.0.7600.16385
Flash version: 10.1.85.3
Tried with hardware acceleration on and off.
Note: Also had another person report the same thing on a Mac.
We had been using Flex 3, so we tried building with Flash Builder 4 – had the same problem.
This is a show stopper for us.
Tried using Wowza and everything worked.
We’re dropping FMIS and switching to Wowza.
If someone can suggest something else to try, we would appreciate it.

So if I understand correctly, your findings are:
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Flash Media Interactive Server = Jerky Video
Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Flash Media Interactive Server = Smooth Video
Flash Player 10.1.85.3 + Wowza = Smooth Video
And what about Flash Player 10.0.x.x + Wowza?
Also, if you could check the network traffic to confirm if it's Flash Player causing the issue or it is receiving it like that from FMIS.

I cannot get rid of the permissions box when using flash player in firefox

I have explored on the web about this problem. When attempting to use flash player in firefox, I cannot click on the allow button to allow my video camera and microphone to be used on sites. I CAN go to Global settings and allow the sites by putting their URL, but this makes no difference, the little permissions box keeps appearing and won't go away.
Anyone know what else to try if changing global setting permissions doesn't work?

This sounds like a bug. The direction that we're heading is to have the browsers present these permission dialogs, and to eliminate them from Flash completely. It is unlikely these native dialogs will support an "always allow" or "remember" option.
If you're not able to click the button in the dialog when it's displayed, that's problematic. We have a couple things in the pipeline to make the dialog bigger. Usually those problems are resolution specific, although if there's moving video behind the dialog, that can trip our security controls. We do a bunch of checks to ensure that the dialog you're clicking isn't obscured by something else, so that we're sure you know that you're clicking and approve button.
There is an improvement in the pipeline to make these dialogs bigger. They were originally designed for 640x480 screens (they've been around *that* long), and they're way too small on modern high-density displays.
Anyway, you're welcome to file a bug at http://bugbase.adobe.com/. Please be sure to include a link to the problem content, and the configuration you're using (OS and browser version, and screen resolution would be particularly useful -- these are often resolution-dependent issues).

Using Flash Player for Android

Can I develop an Android App, and make it contain "flash player for android" which has been removed from Google Play by Adobe.
Because my app needs flash player for android to function well.
Now, my app has been tested and it works well. What I need is your license so that I can get my app onto Google Play.

No one here can approve or disapprove of your request. We're just users like you (and the occasional employee).
But...
Android dropped all support of Flash last year. Google dropped Flash from Google Play, not Adobe - Adobe DOESN'T run Google.
Development of Flash Player for Android was ended shortly after support for it by Android ended. The best you could hope for would be to embed an old version that may or may not work for what you're trying to do. People with new Kindles and Galaxy tablets will most likely NOT be able to access your app as they cannot install Flash Player anymore.
