My new Apple iPad Air is asking me to enter pass code but I haven't created one and now seem to be locked out.  What do I do?

    FORCE IPAD INTO RECOVERY MODE
    1. Turn off iPad
    2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
    3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
    4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
    5. Release Home button.
    ON COMPUTER
    6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
    7. Select "Restore iPad"...
    Note:
    1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
    2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.

I HAVE TRIED TO CONNECT TO ITUNES TO RESET AS I CAN'T REMEMBER MY PASSWORD. I PURCHASED THIS IPAD FROM EB GAMES STORE IT IS RECONDITIONED SO I DON'T KNOW IF THAT WOULD HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH WHY I CAN'T CONNECT TO ITUNES

If it is your password on your appleID account then click on the link to reset your password.
If it is your four digit passcode then See here - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212
You will have to go down the route of a Restore. Please read carefully the links therein with regard to using a different different computer from that with which you normally sync.
[You may also have to put your device into Recovery Mode -  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 ]

How can I change the appe ID that is registred in my Ipad? It was bought for a friend and he put his own ID. I have my ID but I don' t know how I can install it in my Ipad

Tap on the id in Settings > Store and log out of it and then log in with your id. But if there is any content on the iPad from his account then you are probably better off resetting back to factory defaults via Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings and starting 'as new' with it - content is tied to the id that bought/downloaded it so your account won't be able to download updates to any of his apps, and unless his account is authorised on your computer's iTunes and his content is on there then it will be deleted when you sync to it.

Go into Settings > General > Passcode Lock (you will need to re-enter the code to go into it) and you can then either Change Passcode or Turn Passcode Off

  • All of a sudden, I'm getting an error that says I can't open my current iPhoto library using this version of iPhoto. Then it tells me to use the latest version. But I don't know how and I don't know when it changed....

I cannot open iPhoto. The error reads: "You can't open your current iPhoto library using this version of iPhoto.
You have made changes to your photo library using a newer version of iPhoto. Please quit and use the latest version."
But, I don't ever recall doing that, and I need to access my iPhoto. Anyone help?

    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .

  • I have signed into my iTunes account in a different account (on the same laptop) and now I'm supposed to verify my billing info. However, all I've ever used is a gift card. I still have money left, but I don't know how to verify a gift card.

Please help! I have a list of awesome songs I'd love to buy. If the way I stated the question above is confusing, please let me know... I tried to word it well, but exams have kind of wiped me clean of the proper brain cells required to string correct sentences. And that was probably run-on. Anyway! Thanks.

You don't need to get the balance off unless you're trying to change countries. Redeem the second card just like you did the first.

  • Old purchases aren't recognised by Sonos. I know this is because they have DRM. But how do I get round that?

Have recently bought SOnos. And I have realised that old iTunes purchases aren't loading into Sonos library. I realise that's because they have DRM. But I don't knowhowto resolve the issue. All thoughts appreciated.

    Hi,
Use iTunes to burn audio CD. Create playlists for such tracks. You can get up to 80 minutes on each disc. In preferences set import settings to format and bit rate required.

  • HT204053 My wife just got this iPad mini and I want to copy the address book on my iPad 2 over to the mini. Can I use iCloud to do this?

My wife just got this iPad mini and I want to copy the address book on my iPad 2 over to the mini. Can I use iCloud to do this and what are the steps. The 2 devices have different Apple IDs.

Download the "My Contacts Backup" app from App Store to your iPad 2. Make a backup and send it by email to your wife's address. Open this email from iPad mini and tap the attachment to import the contacts into iPad mini Contacts app.

I plugged my ipad into my pc and got this message: This ipad cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started. I have had this ipad for almost 2 years, the pc for 2 1/2.

Maybe you need to restart the Apple Mobile Device Service. This will tell you how to do that.

  • This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes

I have seen others post this same question but the answers provided does not resolve my problem. My iPad Air is running iOS 7.1.2. I have been using this same computer for three years. It has Windows 7 home premium, service pack 1,  64-bit Operating System, Intel 3.4GHZ computer and 16.0 GB .  I used this same computer with my iPad2 for several years. I purchased an iPad Air a year ago. I never had a problem with either iPad using iTunes. About a week ago, my computer would no longer recognize the iPad Air. I thought it must be a driver problem or iTunes somehow became corrupted. I uninstalled all of the Apple products except for iCloud and deleted any Apple software left in my Program Files and Program Files (x86). I then downloaded from Apple, iTunes64Setup.exe which is a 110,833 KB program. I installed the program without a problem. It installed Bonjour, Apple Software Update, Apple Application Support and iTunes. These programs I had previously uninstalled. I then brought up iTunes.  I now plugged in my iPad Air and a popup message appeared "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes". OK, I did as instructed. I used the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then ran iTunes64Setup.exe. I brought up iTunes and got the same message. "This iPad cannot be used because the required software is nt installed. Run the iTunes installer to remove iTunes then install the 64-bit version of iTunes"  In general, I have found the Apple software to be robust and reliable. This situation however is very disappointing. I am hoping that someone has an answer that I can use to resolve my problem.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it, which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component, such as Apple Mobile Device Support, won't install normally.
In your case I suggest you start with a clean download of the setup file using the direct link. If reinstalling AMDS alone doesn't work try tearing everything down again.
