So I had an engineer visit and I'm not happy

Following on from my is the speedtester up the swanny thread
Today I had a visit from an OR engineer. He called before he attended which was very good of him.
He read the results on the above thread, looked at all the other screenies I've kept and also witnessed some tests that I carried out there and then - these followed the usual erratic result
He tested my line using the jdsu tester which confirmed my router was showing the same - nothing obviously wrong.
Having glanced at his laptop I noticed that it clearly stated that I'd had a lift and shift, but the number of previous OR engineers that had worked on my issue was nil.
When I questioned him about this he was unsure why, so he made a few calls for further clarification, stating that he was prepared to carry out the lift and shift as it had not happened. He was told not to do this but to put a note on his report that I would need an "ncis(vp)".
Any idea what an ncis(vp) is? (pronounced n-siss)
He also asked why my connection was still asdlmax when my area had been adsl2+ for some time. I overheard "100% capacity" and that "so even if the customer was on adsl2+, he'd be limited to adslmax speeds anyway" or words to that effect.
I find that a little unfair tbh.
I asked him that if I were to go on to Infinity, would this issue disappear, "yes" was the answer.
This is why I'm very annoyed as Infinity only went live very recently and this may of been around the time the speed tester started to give the results in the thread above.
So I put this to you BT, why can't/won't you give me up to 20mb download speed if it's available and why should I pay more for Infinity just to sort this out? I'm not prepared to pay the price for BT infinity as others can offer this a lot cheaper, though why it's still estimated at 27.2mb is anyone's guess. I've already been previously told by BT that this is a very low speed.

Aye, good honest bb and all that . I'd guess that the most I've ever used in one month would a around the 10g figure. The only reason I went for unlimited was because it actually worked out cheaper - work than one out!
To be honest the slight increase in price for the big increase in speeds is worth it, in my opinion anyway. But it's horses for courses

    You should be able to go > App Store > App store (menu) > store > view my account > sign in.    Where do you vary after following this point.   In between ID summary and Settings should be a section marked iTunes in the cloud and directly below but within that section, the message we are seeking.
    I'm not doubting you, just don't see why you have this problem.

    1. If you are this unhappy with that phone, and the lost earbuds is the only thing stopping you from taking it back, why do not just buy some earbuds. That way you can get rid of that phone. It all depend upon how much you want to get rid of that phone.
    2. Yet if you are stuck with that iPhone, here is something might help you to control the data usage. By design, iPhones do turn off WiFi when they go dormant. So if a download is in progress and so forth when the phone goes dormant, it will switch to use cellular data, if this setting is left on. Therefore, from multi-sources I have learned that if you keep your iPhone connected to a power source, then it will stay connected to the available WiFi.

    If you have a backup, it is very easy to revert back to your previous system setup.
    If you don't, then the downgrade is much harder to accomplish as it require a complete clean install of OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard.
    Before going down that laborious road! maybe you tell us what issues you are having.

  • Startup had White Repeating Staircase and Cursor did not Respond

    Hello there, very odd experience. I recently updated to Leopard and it's been alright but tonight when I turned on my laptop I received a white repeating staircase over a light blue background. Every other line was thicker than the other and this did not go away for at least 15 minutes when I freaked and restarted. An image of the cursor was fixed in the upper right hand corner but there was another cursor with a small rectangular grid attached to it that I tried to click with but the menus must not have been there (could only see white staircase thingie over light blue). The issue was resolved when I restarted. N.B., I did have my ProTools dongle attached and detached it before restarting. Is this a known issue and would it have had anything to do with the dongle?

    hello, maybe it's an issue with the protected mode in the flash plugin - you could try if [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/flash-113-crashes#w_solution-2-downgrade-to-flash-10-3 downgrading to flash 10.3] (which is still supported) or [http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1018071#TemporaryWorkaround disabling protected mode] makes a difference.

    You tried what ? If the app is no longer available in the store (can you find it in the main part of the store ?) for re-downloading then you would need to have a copy of it somewhere e.g. on your computer's iTunes, on a backup of your downloads.

At this time period many, many people were here claiming the same thing happened (approx2 yrs ago). All was settled with a 40 dollar "valued customer discount" which lasted one year and dropped to a 20 dollar " valued customer discount". I was happy, didn't mind paying more and loved FIOS.Mind you it took many,many hourson the phone to resolve. Fast forward to about a month ago and being leary about calling in, being told one thing and getting charged another I went online. Was basically bullied into choosing a inferior package from extreme to prime, said I would not lose nfln and MLB network. All he kept asking me was if I had checked out yet, like he was in some hurry, over and over again which was odd. Having two young ones at home and money being tight I was trying to save a buck. Shame on me, I lost many off my favorite channels which I could probably live with however the internet speeds are painfully slow. I can hardly watch videos now it's so bad. Did the chat rep put a gun to my head? No, but being at work and him being rather pushy clouded my judgement on just waiting like I should have. So here I sit, a long time happy customer wearing FIOS underpants left holding the bag with sub par service that I really didn't want. The wife is fuming wanting to switch to xfinity as I tell her I will try and come to some common ground with the big red V.   • Cant sync my daughters nano (and she is not happy...lol)

    We have had the nano for 1-2 years. Until recently we were able to sync the ipod with the songs on the computer (from ITunes site). the "Sync IPOD" chioce in the main menu cannot be clicked or the "share" section of the side menu does not appear. Two things were changed and I am not sure which may have caused us to be able to load the songs from the computer to the nano. 1. we just bought a replacement cord (one that attaches the nano to the computer)from radio shack. I do not think this is the problem since it appears it charges the nano. 2. The girls loaded limewire on my computer which I believe has caused the girls not to load thier music. I unintalled limewire but I thinking this screwed the Itune Ipod software. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem?

    There are many, many ways to access your files in iPhoto:   You can use any Open / Attach / Browse dialogue. On the left there's a Media heading, your pics can be accessed there. Command-Click for selecting multiple pics.
    (Note the above illustration is not a Finder Window. It's the dialogue you get when you go File -> Open)
    You can access the Library from the New Message Window in Mail:
    There's a similar option in Outlook and many, many other apps.  If you use Apple's Mail, Entourage, AOL or Eudora you can email from within iPhoto.
    If you use a Cocoa-based Browser such as Safari, you can drag the pics from the iPhoto Window to the Attach window in the browser.
    If you want to access the files with iPhoto not running:
    For users of 10.6 and later:  You can download a free Services component from MacOSXAutomation  which will give you access to the iPhoto Library from your Services Menu.
    Using the Services Preference Pane you can even create a keyboard shortcut for it.
    For Users of 10.4 and 10.5 Create a Media Browser using Automator (takes about 10 seconds) or use this free utility Karelia iMedia Browser
    Other options include:
    Drag and Drop: Drag a photo from the iPhoto Window to the desktop, there iPhoto will make a full-sized copy of the pic.
    File -> Export: Select the files in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Export. The dialogue will give you various options, including altering the format, naming the files and changing the size. Again, producing a copy.
    Show File:  a. On iPhoto 09 and earlier:  Right- (or Control-) Click on a pic and in the resulting dialogue choose 'Show File'. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.    3.b.
    b: On iPhoto 11 and later: Select one of the affected photos in the iPhoto Window and go File -> Reveal in Finder -> Original. A Finder window will pop open with the file already selected.

    I have tried to install my Lion from an external drive. This drive has basic Lion on it and runs great with my iMac.
    However installing the Lion on my iMac fails constantly. I have reviewed the installation protocol and can not find a clue. It seems as if the drive was wrong but the disc checker does not find a clue when it is empty. I did several partition processes and deleted it with various methods. However a volume of 310 MB was always left, although hidden to me.
    When I checked the protocol some errors occur. I can not judge, which critical at all. However this ReportCrash could be a hint.

    The problem was a hard drive with a bad storage area.
    I replaced the hard drive with an external drive and boot the OS X from there.
    Now all is good.
    That was solved a year ago.

    My iphone 4 went dead even when there was plenty of batery life. I ran through the reboot for holding down the home button with the power button and it still did not come back up. Any thoughts?

    Plug it into a wall outlet for at least 30 minutes, then try resetting it again. If no respose, you most likely have a hardware issue. Make an appointment at an Apple store.
