So I had my iPod for almost a week, and I had added songs and a video file to it. It seemed fine, then one day I plugged it in, it started updating and it just stopped on a song. I thought iTunes had frozen, but it was fine. Then I started to hear a clicking sound coming from inside my iPod. Well, i started to freak out, so I quit iTunes so I could hopefully stop whatever was happening. When I did that, the screen stayed on "Do Not Disconnect" for a while, so I tried resetting it. When I did this the apple screen came up, the the little icon that means your iPod is sick (or whatever). Now I cant do anything with it.
What happened?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

In Messages on the Mac do you have the Preferences > Messages section set to "Save History when Conversations are Closed" ?
This will store all IMs and iMessages in ~/Library/Messages/Archive.
Use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type that path into the Dialogue box that appears. (~/Library/Messages/Archive).
They are stored in dated folders so some guessing/trail and error will be needed.
You may find that if this was an iMessage and you send the person a new message that the whole History with that Contact since you installed Mountain Lion/Started Messages may appear and that it is scrollable the closer you get to the "top" and the top may keep moving until all is on show.

I have only had my iphone for about six weeks, and today it just died. Nothing happened to it, but I went to call someone and the screen was black, now it won't turn on or charge!????
Standard troubleshooting...
Try a reset by pressing the home and sleep buttons until you see the Apple logo, ignoring the slider. Takes about 5-15 secs of button holding and you won't lose any data or settings.
If still a problem restore with your backup.
If still a problem restore as new, i.e. without your backup. See how it runs with nothing synced to it.
If still a problem, it's likely a hardware issue. -
I have had my ipod classic for several years and never had a problem downloading all my music. Now for the 1st time I can only download about 10% of my music. Any ideas?
Which version of iTunes are you using? (please give me the version number and not the "latest")
What is the iPod software number as listed in the iTunes summary page?
How much free space, do you see on your iPod screen, when you go down main menu and select the settings?
And it should also display on your iTunes summary screen, when you connect the iPod, the free space available.
How much song to you want to sync to you iPod?, normally if it is "Auto Sync", iTunes will delete all the songs in iPod and reload with the library content.
If you have more than enough space in iPod and the sync stop at 10%, then it is another common unresolve problem, with Ipod Classic and iTunes interfacing.

Did you try to reset your device by pressing the sleep and home button for about 10 sec, until the Apple logo comes back again? You will not lose any data doing a reset.
If this does not work, try to connect in recovery mode, explained here: iPhone and iPod touch: Unable to restore

Take it to an Apple store genius bar and if it is defective they will replace it since it is in warranty.

So what would happen if you lost your iPod or it was stolen? Answer, all your music would be gone.
The iPod is not a storage device.
Do you have a backup of your media from your old computer? If so, copy all your media from that backup to your new computer.
Otherwise, try searching the forums for an answer to your question. This EXACT same question is asked and answered many times every day. -

Try these steps
When the grey screen appears when you first switch on the mac, hold down the alt key straight away until a hard drive icon pops up. If this doesnt work step 2
Insert the mac install dvd into your mac when the mac is on, dont worry it can be on the grey screen. Then restart the mac with this disk in the drive and as soon as the grey screen pops up hold the "C" key, this will boot from the disk drive. After a period of time a menu should pop up asking to install mac, but dont worry about this. Just goto the menu bar at the top and find startup disk. Once you are in there select the Machintosh HD or which ever your drive is called, then select restart. This just resets the startup disk. If this fails step 3
When you turn the mac on hold Command+Option+P+R before the grey screen appears and hold this until the mac restarts and gives you 3 beeps. Then let go and it should work This command just resets the PRAM and NVRAM which is just a small part of memory that holds simple information such as the startup disk.
All of these steps will not make you reinstall anything or damage any of your data.

if the failure is not the result of misuse or accidental damage then it will be covererd under the 1 year warranty.

I accidentally changed a setting on my ipod touch and now it won't change back. I have had my ipod for more than two years and i dont know what to do. If i go to the apple store, would they fix it, or would i need to get a new one? If it could be fixed, how much would it cost?
If it is still under warranty you can call the 800 number to apple and enter the serial number and it will tell you if it is under warranty or not if not its like $30 basically for them to help or something like that it said today when i called...
Or take it to a genius bar if you have one near?
