It was last minute, & I got stuck using an SVHS unit...fine, whatever. The shoot was at night with no standard live power...I had a couple "power packs"...No problem...(light for the event WAS provided by a gas generator)
BOTTOM LINE: The video I shot has random "vertical" lines all through it...not REALLY noticible but "slightly visable"...I thought, "dirty heads"...naaaa!
The video RF from the pulsating generator seemed to change the way the "recorded interference" looked on the recorded video...I've got a radio background, so, the only way to explain it s...it's sorta' like video RF.
THE "REAL" BOTTOM LINE: "any suggestions on how to filter this stuff out so it's (at least), presentable?..."

The only thing I could think of would be to manually replace the problem areas with material from an adjacent frame or an adjacent area of the frame. I think there are some filters available to fix dead pixels in a camera's sensors that might help (I've never used them). Do a search here for dead pixels or google. One other idea: Have you tried playing the tape back on another deck, or thru a tbc?

    ...on Ebay selling MacBooks. Like ten a week for the past several months. I am looking for one. He shows you a screenshot of the serial numbers. When I try to run a check on the serial number they come up "unknown". When I asked the guy why the serial numbers weren't coming up, he said, "FOR ME BEST WAY TO CONTROL MY INVENTORY I AM A OLDER PERSON AND EASY TO SEE REFURBISH NUMBER THAN OTHER SERIAL NUMBER THAT WAY I CAN NOT MAKE MISTAKE BUT I ALWAYS MATCH IT BOTH NUMBERS BEFORE I SHIP MY ITEM HAVE GREAT DAY"

    This ebay item is not terribly exciting - you should be able to get this type of deal nearly anywhere. My 2006 MacBook was just under 2 years old when I tried to sell it online. I wanted $800 - $900 for it (cost $1600) but the online buyers schooled me to realize it was only worth $400 - $500. When I looked at my machine with fresh eyes I saw how much the LCD had dimmed since it was new, and how much better the new Macs ALWAYS are over previous ones. What I learned otherwise was that lots of Service Techs buy up these older units to dismantle and create machines out of parts so they can sell them as "refurbished". No one wanted to buy my machine except these "solo" service guys! My advice is buy from a friend or from Apple.

    I've had an RSS feed created for an online video podcast but keep getting the message: 'we had difficulty reading this feed. host parameter is null' i've looked at the forums but none of them make any sense. My IT team say the RSS feed is valid and it should work and that is more like down to an itunes error, any help?

    This will be our first podcast so do not currently have a page. Below is the feed.

  • "We had difficulty reading this feed. null" Atom feeds no longer work?

    Hi - our Audioboo feeds used to work fine when submitting as a podcast (eg http://audioboo.fm/users/4705/boos.atom). It seems like they stopped working recently - maybe in the past couple of days - and just report "We had difficulty reading this feed. null" when you try to submit them.
    I'm beginning to suspect that the use of atom rather than rss is the cause. Can anyone confirm?

    This feed can be subscribed to manually in iTunes (from the 'Advanced' menu) - actually I'm rather surprised it works because it isn't a valid podcast feed (though it is a valid Atom feed).
    It has the iTunes 'declaration' and some itunes tags, although the former is contained in a 'feed' tag whereas it should be a 'rss' tag: there is no 'channel' tag enclosing the podcast data, no 'item' tags enclosing each episode, and no 'enclosure' tags within each episode containing the media URL. I'm not surprised you can't submit it as a podcast, and as I say it's a but surprising that the iTunes application recognizes it.
    In order to get it accepted in the iTunes Store you need to create a feed in the correct format: this page contains a sample basic feed so you can see how it should look:

    If the feed contains the valid iTunes format it can also contain atom tags, which iTunes will ignore.

    So I sent my macbook pro to a nearby macbook repair person because it was too slow, everytime I click on something, the rainbow wheel will appear and it will take like a few minutes to open up a window. Also, my videos were stucked whenever I played them in VLC etc but when I use my external hard disk to play the video, it will be okay. So I sent to this guy explaining all the problems I am facing with my macbook, then he claimed that he could do it within a day as its probably just the hard disk problem or if its the processor(2days). And now its been 3 weeks and he is still fixing my macbook, he told me it was the bios and he needs sometime to do it as he needs to be very careful. I dont know if I should believe him, its been more than 3 weeks now? I just wanted to know if what he is saying is logic and if it is, does it really take so long to fix the bios?
    p/s I've increased the RAM to 8gb 1600Mhz Ddr3 recently thinking that was the problem but obviously it didnt fix my problem Help me out

    Mac's do not have a BIOS to flash. Get your Mac back before this situation gets worse. Then take it to an Apple Store. You will have to pay.

    You fitted the wrong Ram, you will need to change it for the right Ram when you get it back.

    For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
    The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
    Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

    Here is the screen shot, just the top half, there are another 10 pages, but I guess this should enough for you to have an idea of waht is going on, bit small I am afraid. No, I don't have any apps setup to run when I open my computer, the kernel, varies between 290 and 305 per cent ish.
    Would that PRAM thing help ? I think it may be the computer itself, well something inside, as this the first time that the fan has ever started running since I have this computer, even when I have 3 or 4 apps running.

    Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
    Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
    Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
    The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
    Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

    If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:

    You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

    I don't think that is normal behavior. The long press is possibly causing the system to force power down, which would then allow it to power back up.
    Just to make sure, all drivers are up-to-date? Are there pending BIOS updates? If so, you'll want to make sure it can restart properly before applying the BIOS update
    Try an Ubuntu LiveUSB or LiveCD to rule out software issues.
    If that doesn't work, try taking out the battery and AC, pressing the power button ten times, then holding it for ten. This is usually the remedy for another issue, but try it anyway.
    If that doesn't work, then try resetting the BIOS settings. Then try unplugging the CMOS battery overnight. Otherwise, might have to call for warranty.

    Oh no! Lets ensure that you are connected. Have you tried to reset the Network Extender? Are other devices able to connect to the Extender? Is your Internet service up and running?

    There is no chance at all that you can activate the iPad without the previous user's Apple ID and password. That is the feature of iOS 7 Activation Lock.
    Every time I read one of these post, I can't help but think that the user asking about this (in this case - you) was duped into purchasing a stolen device. If the seller was legit, they would have erased the device completely before they sold it.
