    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have to iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing

I lost my ipod touch-how do I find it using Location services?

    Joel Zimmerman wrote:
I lost my iPod touch in a club last Saturday. Was on, had a passcode on it but I didn't have Find My iPhone installed. I'm not sure if this is correct information, but an Apple store clerk said that I would still be able to track it if I had registered it with iCloud, which I have done
What you needed to have already done was to have went to Settings>iCloud and turned FindMyiPod on.
. The problem is, though, even if this information is true, how will I be able to find it? It's an iPod touch with no GSM/CDMA capabilities. Therefore, it cannot be found unless it was connected to Wi-Fi.
For location the iPod uses the location of nearby wifi routers that are in Apple's database. Thus, wifi has to be on.
But how would that be possible unless the person who found it knows my passcode?
Wifi just has to be on and connected to report its postition to you by going to icloud.com as explained in a previous reply.
I'm guessing that if the person wipes and restores the device, I will have no way of finding it... unless it works off the serial number?
If the iPod is restored, you can no longer find it via icloud.com. I uses turning FIndMyiPod on, not the SN,.
    Thanks.

  • Found an Ipod touch--how can I locate the owner?

I found an Ipod touch--how can I locate the owner?  The Ipod requires a passcode.

You can't. Turn the iPod into your local police department, or the station closest to where you found the iPod. They have resources for identifying and contating the owner, should they wish to take that time.
    Regards.

    Two ways:
    - connect to a computer with a computer with iTunes and restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.
    - Connect the iPod to a computer or charger and on the iPod go to: Setting>General>Reset and tap Erase all content and settings. The above maakes it lke a new iPod.  For how to restore see:

i lost my Pad Please how can i track it ,I cannot remmeber the serial number. Please help me find it

Unless you enabled Find My iPad on it before it was lost then there isn't any way to locate it. If you did enable it then you could try locating it either via http://icloud.com on a computer or Find My iPhone / Find My iPad on another device - but that will only work if it's connected to a network and the device hasn't already been wiped and/or Find My iPad disabled on it.
If you think that it was stolen then you should report it to the police. You should also change your iTunes account password, your email account passwords, and any passwords that you'd stored on websites/emails/notes etc.
There are some methods described on this page for how you might be able to find the serial number :

  • Lost my ipod touch how to report it

I lost my ipod touch 5th generation(32GB) at a club yesterday, its registered in my icloud and I have put it in lost mode but it really doesn't help me, problems are its dead, well it died the very last time I had it on me, it needs a passcode to access it and since its an ipod it needs wifi to connect to any internet in order to track it from icloud... now if someone found it and tries to sell it or pawn it how can I report it stolen, I still have the box with the serial number, would I have to tell the police the serial number?

    Hi  ..

What to do if your iOS device is lost or stolen
Authorities need the serial number to idenitfy the device.

  • On iPod Touch, how can I view calendars but not sync them?

I have thirteen years of calendar events in iCal on my desktop Mac, dating back to year 2000, divided between three calendars. A quite large amount of calendar data, admittedly. I sync to my iPod Touch via iCloud.  Problem is that, if I select "Sync All Events" in the Settings of the iPod, my iPod apparently constantly is trying to sync thirteen years, resulting in unbearably slow performance, with intolerably long lag before calendars "sync" and before new entries resolve.
Of course, if I select the alternative iPod Calendar Setting "Sync Events Six Months Back", my iPod performs swiftly, efficiently... after all, it's not like I'm editing old events from years ago. However, by doing so, events older than 6 months cannot be viewed on the iPod Touch.
I suppose most people aren't concerned with preserving older calendar events in a viewable form, but I have need to do so on my iPod Touch. I don't need to spend unbelievable amount of waiting time while my iPod processes (i.e., "syncs") all my old calendar events ; I simply wish to be able to see the darn things! So, how do I maintain fast performance AND ability to view all my calendar events quickly?
I hope this makes sense. If anyone has an idea how I can achieve this, I will be greatly appreciative. Obviously, on my desktop Mac I have no problem viewing any date in iCal that I choose to view. On my iPod, though, can I set up separate calendar in which I can store but not sync the older calendar stuff? Or, do I need some separate app to preserve and view my older calendars?
    Thanks.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order

  • HT201406 in scientific calculator mode the 7 8 9 numbers/area doesn't work on ipod touch, how can I rectify this?

The screen is not touch sensitive in the area covered by the 7 8 9 numbers when the ipod is in the horizontal (in scientific calculator orientation) - the rest of the screen is fine. But because of the ares affected I cannot even log on to internet as the password needed has the letters in the affected area!! Frustrating!!
Any idea how to correct this - in simple terms please as I am not very technical at all!!
There are no physical marks or scratches on the screen in the area affected.
