So I stuck a key into one of the USB ports and then a message came up and it crashed straight away and now it won't turn back on.(the message was to do with the USB port taking to much power when there wasn't anything besides the key) help?

Please help! My mac is about 6 months old and I was just playing with my keys and stuck it in the USB port and then it crashed and won't turn on, it's not picking up the charger (the little led light isn't on) and pressing the power button does absolutely nothing

Don't be so surprised, people have stuck worse things in worse places before and it was on purpose

Reset the SMC first. If this doesn't work, reset PRAM. Move down troubleshoot with links below. First, SMC reset for MBP models 2009 and later:
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

If wjosten's tip doesn't work try plugging it into a USB charger (not through your computer), wait about 30 seconds and it should come on. If it doesn't remove the cord from the phone and keep trying this. I've had this same issue and found a combination of the reset & charging cable tends to work. Sometimes it takes about 5 minutes for the phone to respond.

It could have powered off. Try holding the sleep button down for a few seconds until the apple logo appears to restart it

Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

I was at a friends house and I used her Ipod dock to charge my ipod before we left to go to her grandmas, before we left I checked it to see if it was charging and it was. So we left for a few hours and we came home and it was charged. Later on that night, before we went to bed I put my ipod on the SAME charger I used earlier that day. I woke up in the morning and tried turning it on and the screen stayed black so I paniced and put it on the charger some more and notcied the screen stayed black. We looked up what to do on the internet and it seems a lot of people were having this problem as well. Some of the people said to hold the home and power button at the same time and the apple sigh will appear and your ipod will be good again.. we tried that and nothing same black screen. I have no idea what to do with it and if it can be fixable.

HT1459 i tried to restore but there was an error and now ipod won't turn back on

randomly my music wouldn't sunc with my ipod today, so i tried to restore it. however, there was an error during restoring and now my computer won't recognize my ipod and the screen on my ipod keeps going to the "itunes/connecter" picture and it won't so anything else. how do i fix this?

Have you tried resetting the iPod? Hold the home button and wake/sleep button for 10 secs (it can take more). If iTunes won't recognize it anyway, try reinstalling iTunes. Hope can help!
