Am I right in thinking that you can't extend your network wirelessly with a time capsule unless your base station is an apple one?

My new time capsule will only allow me to extend my network via ethernet cable.
What I really want to do is use it wirelessly as an extension wirelessly.
The option is there (under other options in airport utility) but when I select it and move on it reverts back to create a new network.
Why is this?
Am I trying to achieve the impossible?
I have an airport express and that be added to my network wirelessly with no issue at all.

Apple does not present this option....but, even if they did.....this would be the worst possible option to use for backups.

Yes, you can. The AirPort Express would be configured to "create a wireless network"......then.....the Time Capsule could be configured to "extend a wireless network".
It is critically important that the Time Capsule be located where it can receive a very strong wireless signal from the AirPort Express in this type of setup. The more that you have line-of-sight between the AirPort Express and Time Capsule, the better your network performance will be and the faster that backups will occur to the Time Capsule.
A better option in terms of performance would be to connect the Time Capsule to your current modem/router using an Ethernet connection and have the Time Capsule "create" the network. Then, use the Express to "extend" the network.
Here, I am assuming that you have a new Time Capsule.

1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPhone but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPhone with it.

I don't know if there is an app, but you can take a snapshot of the video. I do this all the time. You just need to hold down the power and home key once and it will take a snapshot.

Part of the reason for such stuttery playback performance lies with the limitations of the single SATA connection (channel) itself. You see, SATA is not full duplex, but only half-duplex. That means that a block of transfers going in one direction must be completed before a block of transfers can even begin in the opposite direction. Think of the SATA channel (single connection) as a single-lane stretch of highway with traffic signals at each end. What's worse, that single disk must also deal with the Windows pagefile, the media cache, previews and various other things all going on at the same time. As a result, the effective performance of that single disk can plummet by a factor of six: That single disk, after accounting for all of the tasks it must perform at the same time as video playback, is left with only about 32 MB/s of bandwidth available for Premiere Pro.
In other words, that single disk is being severely overworked as it is.

Is it safe to assume that once you've used a backup of an old phone to restore a new one that you can delete the old backup? I am running out of "cloud" space and want to free up space

I purchased an additional 20gb of storage and I am getting a message that I am out of space on the cloud to backup my Iphone or my iPad. When I checked my settings it seems like it's because my old iPhone backup is still being stored. Since I used my old lphone4 backup to load my new iPhone5s would it be safe to say that I can delete that backup now since all the info that was on that phone has been transferred to my iPhone5s. This way I can free up storage in my icloud (instead of buying additional storage?)

As a precaution, I would suggest backing up your iPhone to your computer via iTunes as well as iCloud. Then you can delete one of your two backups. The article below will explain all of your options for deleting data or backups from your iCloud storage.

Delete the Find My Friends app. Don't give anyone your Apple ID password as if they had that, they could use Find My iPhone to track your phone. Don't let social media services (twitter, Facebook, Instagram) have access to your location services.
If you are on an cell phone account that is controlled by someone else (e.g. parents) note that they may be able to avail themselves of carrier services to track your phone. In order to avoid being tracked that way, you would, as Bonanaza888 noted, you'ld need to put your phone in Airplane mode or turn it off.

We love apple email, but it does not play wall with other venders when you want to use your own domain (lags, disconnections, etc.)? What vendor should we use to make it push and work well? We want to stay with Apple Mail.

Help, our AppleMail does not play well with other Vendord to use our own domain. iCloud mail works great, but so far others we have tried lag, disconnec, etc. not nearly as good as icloud mail. Should we try exchange or office 365 plans with Apple Mail/ a lot more expensive?

Microsoft Exchange is the best business solution, Office 365 will give a hosted version that works well, as you noted it is not the cheapest. You should also look at Zimbra, an excellent service.

I have what appears to be a web icon that is frozen on my safari blank page. The icon is for a website and shows the image of a progress clock. If I tap the image, the website opens, but I notice that the clock in the upper left never stops moving.

If I tap the icon, the we page will open, but the clock on the upper left corner will continue to run as though the page is still loading, but never finishes. When I close the we page, the clock image will remain on the blank safari page. I cannot get rid of it. Just upgraded software, but that did not help. Any ideas of how to get this "icon" off my blank safari page?

That's probably a bookmark you have saved in Favorites.
Tap bookmark icon>Favorites>Edit>Delete the bookmark

There you will find out, which version of the system IOS your device is currently running.
In addition to Niel's answer - applications developed for IOS will not be able to run on a Mac, because a Mac uses a differnet type of operating system "MacOS", and MAc applications will not be able to run on IOS based devices.

That is a problem with two DIV containers with an IFRAME with Flash objects that hides the right part of the first button and the second button button.
You can just see the second button if you position the mouse between the second and third button.
Those button are positioned absolutely.

As far as I know there is no US cell carrier that allows pay as you go with an iPhone. You can purchase an unlocked iPhone 4S at an Apple Store and try it with a non-supported carrier.
