So I upgraded my iPod...now what?
Hi. I just upgraded from 1st gen iPod mini to 5th gen 30gb video. Here's the scenario:
--Library on home computer synched successfully on the new iPod.
--Library of music purchased from iTunes on my work computer won't synch onto the new iPod.
How do I get music that I purchased on my work computer onto my new iPod?

"cannot be played on this iPod" - NOW WHAT?
I had an iPod mini that I sold last year and got a new iPod nano. I just noticed while transferring songs to it this message - that certain songs in my library can't be played in the nano! I paid for the songs. My question:
1. how do I identify what songs are being prevented from copying onto the nano?
2. How do I get permission to use all of my songs on my nano?

No easy way to tell, unfortunately. Look for songs that are not there which you expect them to be there. There are other ways as well. One way I used was to export my iPod's song list and my iTunes song list to text files, then imported them into a spreadsheet program for an easy visual side-by-side comparison. This let me find the problem songs very quickly.
2. How do I get permission to use all of my songs on
my nano?
It's not a matter of getting permission. For whatever reason, iTunes thinks that some of your songs cannot actually be played on the Nano. Maybe they're in the wrong format or something. If there are songs you purchased through the iTunes Music Store, make certain that you can actually play the songs in iTunes, this will ensure that iTunes can copy the correct keys to the Nano so it can play them too. -
If I add ipod udater to my ipod now what will happen?
I have a whole lot of songs on my ipod right now, But if I add ipod updater to it now, will that delete any of my songs
In Updater, if you select Update, only your iPod's software will be updated.
If you choose Restore, your iPod will be wiped of ALL DATA.
If Update is not illuminated your iPod is actually up-to-date and doesn't need that iPod Updater to Update it. -
Just upgraded to 8GB, now what?
I successfully upgraded my MBP to 8GB, and I was told, I should reset "something" to take full advantage of the memory. My MBP does display 8GB, so I am not sure what more I should do.

Firmware Upgrade Crashed! Now what?
While attempting to upgrade my WRT54G wireless router (ver 1) firmware, the process crashed near the end -- leaving me back at my Windows desktop and with no access to my router. I can't ping it, can't connect to the management console.... Nothing!
Is there anyway to resurrect it?a Man How did you get a free one if ur version is old it should be out of warranty ????? and if you did that so I can call them about my problem I have to pay 30 something bucks for them to help me and im only 15 man so can I ?

New here, trying to restore my i phone 5 to newly refurbished i phone 5 and couldn't do it w/ wizard. old phone had OS-7 new came with OS-6... wouldn't let me restore from cloud without same operating system.
Installed os-7 only option then was "new device" which closed wizard and welcomed me to new phone.
on settings I see my old i phone in cloud
since I've added new contacts, pics.... (got it Christmas eve)
I'm guessing somehow I need to save pics to computer;
backup contacts etc to new device
restore old i phone back up then somehow get contacts and pics only back on new device...
am i on right track or is there an easier/better way?
don't know how to do last step - w/o replacing majority of contacts

Actually, I wanted to let my son use my old iphone 3g as an ipod now that I upgraded to the iphone 4.
But it has continued to shut down and say that needed to restore it.
The last time I did it, it's now saying that I need to have a SIM card in order for it to work.
Now, I'm not wanting him to use it as a phone or for texting, so I just assumed this would work. But it's been very challenging.
Any thoughts on what I need to do so he can use it as an ipod?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

Tried upgrading my iPod Touch 5G today to iOS 7.1.1 but didn't realize that I needed 2.1GB worth of needed internal memory for this update. I only had about 800MB of unused memory in my iPod 32GB Touch 5G before starting the iOS 7.1.1 download.
So now, when it turns on, I only see a white Apple lightning cable with an arrow pointing to iTunes icon.
I plugged the lightning cable into the computer and after the driver loaded up iTunes, I was told that my iPod was in 'Recovery Mode'?
It said if I wanted to restore my iPod, I needed to restore it to it's factory settings which erases all my data, apps, music, texts, settings, pictures, videos, EVERYTHING!!
Is there a way for me NOT TO LOSE EVERYTHING NOW???????? If I do go through with restoring my iPod, can I retrieve all my PHOTOS and VIDEOS I have stored on my iPod?? along with my texts, iMessages, emails, etc???
I read I think that after iTunes deletes everything and then updates to (iOS 7.1.1), it give's you the option to install back what was once on the iPod (because Apple supposally saves everything before deleting everything in order to install new iOS????)

So I just updated to the newest update that was available for safari and iTunes but now it won't let me go on the Internet using safari and it also won't let me sync my songs ,,,,,(it takes forever to backup my iPad AND my iPod) so what can I do ?

This worked for me an hour ago and has allowed me to sync ok. Still haven't tried downloading the new version 5 to the phone yet as I'm still backing up photos etc just in case.
1. Quit itunes
2. Start an elevated command prompt (Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> right click Command Prompt -> Run as Administrator)
3. Once in the command prompt type the following 3 words starting where your cursor is flashing: netsh winsock reset
4. press ENTER
5. Reboot your machine
6. Restart itunes & connect device to sync

I want to be able to connect an iPod to an interactive whiteboard. I was told by a presentor to buy a special cable, which I did, but now what? Do I need a certain app? I want to use the board to display apps to teachers to show them how to use them. Help.
Unless I've missed something, your iPod touch does not support mirroring the screen to an external display, so unless the apps you want to teach output to video, showing the app's interface, not just content, you will not be able to use your whiteboard to demo those apps. You'll probably need something like a document camera so you can show the iPod's screen on an external display.

Reload older versions from iTunes on a computer, or buy a newer device.

I did a system restore on my computer. When I had it up and running again, I downloaded the latest version of itunes. Now I can't sync apps to my sons ipod. What can I do to fix this?
If you have iTunes 11 turn on the Sidebar. Go to iTunes>View and click on Show Sidebar. You can also do a Crtl+S to show the sidebar and Control+B to show the Menu bar
To sync to your iPod go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Sync your iPod....>Sync You Device>Set up Syncing and follow the instructions.
