    If your Mac meets these requirements:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/SP575
    then you can order a Snow Leopard disk and install it.

  • With my iPhone 5s, can I record long voice memo to the cloud and not worry about storage on phone?

    With my iPhone 5s, can I record a long voice memo to the cloud and not worry about storage space on phone?

    You can't add music to the cloud, whether it will show there for streaming and redownloading depends upon what country that you are in. If you are in a country where music is available in the cloud then you don't have to download the music from the store, if you turn Settings > iTunes & App Store > Music (under the 'show all' heading) 'on' then you should be able to stream purchased music in the Music app without downloading it - your phone will need to be online in order to stream, and if using 3G/4G then it will use some of your data allowance.
    If you download an album or a track then it will be downloaded onto your phone. You can't upload music to the cloud from an iOS device. Whether music that you've bought shows for streaming depends upon what country that you are in and if the album or track remains in the store (unless you've subscribed to iTunes Match), and if you are connected to a network.

  • I am just going back to using my iMac. Had to upgrade to snow leopard and not want to upgrade to OSX Mavericks. I can't get the install because it is currently at 10.9.1. Where can I find the 10.9 version so I can upgrade "pre-patch"?

    I am trying to install (upgrade to) Mavericks from Snow Leopard (10.6.8). However, the current version of Mavericks is 10.9.1. I'm being told that I can't do this upgrade without 10.9. Any ideas as to where I can find the straight 10.9 (pre-patch) version of Mavericks?

    The version on the App Store for Mavericks is 10.9.1 and it's the full installer.
    The only time you would need 10.9 is if you were installing the delta download of 10.9.1  from Apple's Software Update Support page.
    So, just go to the App Store and you will be able to download/install Mavericks 10.9.1 without the need of 10.9.

  • When I sync my iPod to my MacBook through iTunes new events do not show up and old events are not deleted. I am using Snow Leopard  and not iSync.

    I am using Snow Leopard on a MacBook. I have an iPod touch 3G. I do not use iSync it Mobile Me. When I sync my iPod through iTunes new events on my iPod do not show up on my Mac and old events do not delete. I have read help instructions that include deleting the data on the iPod. The iPod has the correct data and the Mac does not so I have not followed those instructions. I need help as the only reason I bought the Mac was to be able to sync, back up, view and print my calendar. Currently it is useless. If only Apple could have learned from the elegance of the Palm software.

  • Can I partion my drive on macbook pro 10.5.8 to add snow leopard and not affect my leopard?  I'd like to run apps on snow leopard which cannot be run on leopard.

    I'd like to add snow leopard to my macbook pro which runs leopard 10.5.8 in order to run apps.  I do not want to mess with my original system and risk losing data.  Is that possible by just going to utilities and partioniong my drive?

    15 is probably enough.  And if you kept your home dir in a separate volume then you could use your same home dir on both leopard and snow leopard.  This is one of the reasons I recommend keeping the home dir on a separate volume.  Very convenient for switching OS's or needing to use a (backup) copy of the current OS.

  • If I am on Snow Leopard and not Lion, how will IOS5 be affected?

    What parts of iOS5 will not work with Snow Leopard?  I'm guessing that iCal will not and I need to turn off iCloud for that.  Are there any other applications that are affected like this?  What about Mail?  Should iCloud be turned off?

    OK, this is going to be confusing.
    Major point here...  If you have only one device, there is no benefit to syncing with the iCloud.  Its sole purpose is to ensure that two or more devices contain identical information.  Everything that follows assumes the existence of two or more devices.
    First, it's possible to end up with two sets of iCal calendars on the iPad.  One set is identified as the iPad calendars and these are standalone.  They sync to nothing.  Modify them and nothing else changes.  The other set is identified as the iCloud calendars.  They sync to iCloud.  Modify them on the iPad and the modifications are reflected in iCloud.  The identical situation could occur on the Mac.
    If you have only one set, the "iPad calendars," then they will appear to work correctly because you will not see them on any other device.  You have nothing with which to compare.
    If you have only one set, the "iCloud calendars," then they will be wiped out by the blank info in the iCloud!  If you don't have this set, it is mandatory that you create one which will, of course, be blank.
    I had both sets and, as scary as it was, it was necessary for me to delete the "iPad" calendar set, which actually had the correct information!  I did not delete the blank "iCloud" set.  If you're a little scared about my sequence of steps, you can hold off the deletion until the very end (after you see data in both calendar sets).
    Then, I went to my mac and, with Safari, continued with the Lion setup instructions and ended up in MobileMe/Move (via Safari).  I directed MobileMe to move everything to iCloud.  Since both the iMac and the iPad had been previously configured to retrieve data from iCloud, the calendar sets on both devices were then in sync.
    Now, if I change anything on EITHER of my two devices, the change is reflected up to iCloud and then down to the other device.  Works really well!

  • Anyone install snow leopard and not notice a battery drainage?

    seems like battery life is going twice as fast for everyone

    My battery life appears to be the same if anything. I do know that after I first installed SL that it chewed up battery life with a new spotlight index and a Time Machine backup.
    Do you have any peripherals attached?

  • Is there a way to set the ID of a collection item and not worry about fxx?

    Hi Everyone, I am not certain if I am phrasing this properly, so bear with me.
    I have a tabular form based on a collection.   There are a variety of items, textareas, select lovs, and radio groups in this tabular form.  Some of the items have a set id which correspond to the collection field...so for example,
    c010 has id='f10'+seq
    c012 has id='f12'+seq
    when any field is changed, a dynamic action is executed.
    dynamic action:  COLUMN CHANGE
    event: CHANGE
    selection type: JQUERY SELECTOR
    jquery selector: input[name='f10'],input[name='f11'],input[name='f12'],.shark_info, .hms_info
    true action1: set value, javascript expression, set P110_ID = this.triggeringElement.id AFFECTED ITEM P110_VALUE
    true action2: execute pl/sql code
    begin
    null;
    end;
    page items to submit: P110_ID
    true action3: set value, javascript expression, set P110_VALUE = this.triggeringElement.value AFFECTED ITEM P110_VALUE
    true action4: set value: PL/SQL expression, set P110_SEQ = rtrim(substr(:P110_ID,5,4),'0')    AFFECTED ITEM: P110_SEQ
    true action5: execute pl/sql code
    declare
      v_attr number;
    begin
      v_attr := TO_NUMBER (SUBSTR (:P110_id, 2, 2));
      apex_collection.update_member_attribute
                       (p_collection_name      => 'SPECIES_COLLECTION',
                        p_seq                  => :P110_SEQ,
                        p_attr_number          => v_attr,
                        p_attr_value           => :P110_VALUE);
    end;
    page items to submit: P110_ID, P110_VALUE, P110_SEQ
    true action6:  refresh region
    The value of v_attr is set to a substr of P110_ID....and p110_id is based on the ID of the item.
    I have one item, a radio group called c024.   It is not called as an apex_item because the radio group (for whatever reason) would not work.  Therefore, in order for c024 to correspond to attribute 24, I must make certain that there are 23 editable items appearing before it...or at least that is the only way to get it to work.
    I am wondering if there is a way to assign the ID='f24'+seq manually in much the same way that I assigned the CSS class=.SHARK_INFO to this item.
    any clues appreciated.
    thanks,
    Karen

    I hope it's the done thing to add to an old thread, instead of starting a new one.
    I'd like to be able to clear my form history, but not clear my search history.
    I'm using Firefox 7.0.1, but it still seems to be a combined option.
    Would it be possible to separate the two options in later versions?
    I've found two extensions that might help, but it would be nice to simply have two separate options.

  • Recently safari has been quit unexpectedly I've upgraded to snow leopard and I have the latest safari software. What can I do about it to rectify the problem?

    Recently Safari has been quitting unexpectedly. I've dumped my cache several times and even upgraded to snow leopard.l I have the latest version of Safari 5.0.5. The situation has gotten quite annoying and been going on for about three weeks now. What can I do to fix this short of bringing it to someone?
    I restart and it works fine for  awhile and then it quits again. I either restart and/or dump the cache AGAIN! This is getting quite tedious. I've even taken the battery out and reinstalled it. Nothing seems to stop the quitting.

    You don't need anything higher than OSX 10.6.8 to run iTunes 11.  iTunes system requirements - http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
    You can't upgrade without more RAM.
    MacBook upgrade possibilities - https://discussions.apple.com/message/19577869 - "The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard. The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion. I was using OS Snow Leopard and on 8/1/13 I downloaded Mountain Lion.  Then I found out it was not compatible with my HP Printer (HP Photosmart C5580 all-in-one) so I called Apple support and the tech told me to erase the hard drive instead of going in the time machine.  Well I did that and then it took about three hours three days a week for about three weeks on the phone with an apple tech to get all my stuff back on my computer.  I have had trouble with my printer (won't do the scan anymore and wasn't printing on my DVDs.  Also the computer keeps freezing up when it is in the sleep mode, etc.
    When I tried to list my problem on this forum it lists your OS at the bottom and mine had Mountain Lion listed as what I was using so apparently it didn't erase it.  Want to know how to get Mountain Lion off and put my Snow Leopard on so things start working right.

    Go to the  menu/About This Mac - what OS version shows there?
    Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.
    Revert to a Previous OS X
    Revert to Snow Leopard
    If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

  • I upgraded my Mac from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  I did have Microsoft Office for Mac 2004 in my applications and now get a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported."

    I just upgraded my MAC from OSX 10.5.8 to Snow Leopard and then to Mountain Lion 10.8.2.  When I try to access my Microsoft Office for MAC (2004 edition) files I am getting a message "can't open Office because Power PC applications are no longer supported.  How can I access all of my save Word documents?  I just want to be able to retrieve all of my documents that were in Microsoft Office for Mac (2004).  If I purchase the newest version of MS office for Mac from Apple will I be able to retrieve my old documents?

    Use any number of free alternatives to your nearly decade old version of MS Office.
    Consider
    LibreOffice (donation-supported)
    NeoOffice (free)
    OpenOffice (free)
    In addition to the above I also recommend Apple's Pages ($19.99). I use OpenOffice and Pages and have been completely Microsoft - free for years. Life is better without Microsoft.

    Restore the Snow Leopard bootable backup/clone or the Time Machine backup. As for making ML work, I've not a clue since I don't do windoze or access things remotely. You'll have to wait for one of those gurus to pop in or just post what's happening when you try at the ML forums.
