i was supposed to get my iphone today, but it was delievered so early that i was still in bed when the ups guy showed up and knocked and i got up and ran down stairs like a kid on christmas, but he was already gone and left me that ****** 1st attempt note. i am so mad at myself right now.

ok so i exported mpeg1 using compressor and had lots of marks which i made sure were marked as chapter markings. I thought that compressor kept chapter markings, but apparently not cause i imported the mpeg1 to DVDSP and lo and behold, no markings. ANd i waited for probably 4 hours for it to export both sound and video. so what did i do wrong?
Normal on a Macbook Pro? Probably. I'm guessing you have either a 5400 or 4800 RPM disk drive in that thing. So yes that would *** as you put it.
Switching to a 7200 RPM internal drive would show you about a 50% increase in overall performance improvement on the MacBook Pro itself, and probably 33% on the Compressor--but I don't know your CPU speed.
The only downside to going with the faster drive is your battery duration goes to s**t. I only use 7200 RPM drives in my IBM Thinkpads and it eats batteries for lunch. Going from 2:30 minutes to about half that with 7200RPM drives.
Now I don't know if the new LED LCD screens in the MBP's use less energy and thus you can justify using a 7200 RPM drive.
But on mine (I just got it this week) I opted for the 5400RPM drive and it seems good enough for everything I'm doing so far. -
My wifi is limited since I took the new 7.04 iso update... I'm very mad right now
The new 7.04 iso has almost trashed my wifi... Why?
Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)
• Launch Settings app

• In the window that opens, tap on the Renew Lease button

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

when I have made a movie in Imovie and I want to transfer it to Theater I get the following comments: "Imovie is updating your Theater, You can't add or remove movies right now. Please try again in a moment". I have uninstalled and reinstalled Imovie to no avail, cleaned with "Onyx" etc.
This simply means it is set to Automatically update and you should not have to do anything with it.
When you put new music in iTunes , it will automatically go on the iPod next time you connect it.
This is the default to make it very simple and very easy to use.
If you want to do it all yourself, iTunes prefs -> iPod.
Set to Manually manage songs and playlists.
You have to drag songs to the iPod and delete them from the iPod. -
(we share a apple id) My dad bought some inapp purchases, and he thought it didnt work. so he did it again. he can't pay it of right now, and icloud reuses to work on my new ipod. i cant just make a new id, all my music is on that. how can i get icloud to work, WITHOUT waiting for my dad?

My original I Phone 5 was running IOS 6.12
My I phone 5S currently runs IOS 8..When I upgraded it, it had IOS 7 on it which made the I Photo app compatible with everything below IOS 8...( which the photo app is not compatible with ) so I just connected the I Phone 5S to my computer and thinking the new phone had IOS 7 on it that these was nothing to worry about..I thought all 900 + pictures in the photo stream would transfer but somewhere in the process, I Tunes decides to just go and install IOS 8 which requires that you run a " Photo Migration App" to transfer photos from IOS 7 & below. The problem was is that I didn't want IOS 8 on my new 5S so I thought I wouldn't have to do that part..
Anyway the phone emerged with IOS 8 on it and the only photos that remained were the ones that were actually on the phone..The 900 + I had in the stream didn't transfer because the Photos that works on IOS 7 and below isn't compatible with IOS 8..I guess you have to use the photo migration app that comes with IOS 8 & I phone 6..But I didn't ask to upgrade to IOS 8...It just did it on it's own!
I still have the I Phone 5 Back up that I did just before giving it back to Verizon but if I try to restore the I Phone 5S running IOS 8 those photos in the stream will not go back on the phone because IOS 8 isn't compatible with the I Photos" that ran on IOS 7 and below..
So I have an I Pad mini that runs IOS 7..should I try and erase it...and put that I Phone 5 backup on it and pray the photos that were in the stream come back on it so I can transfer them back to my computer...then erase the I pad mini again and restore it using it's original backup that I have on the computer and the in the cloud?

Please try again after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already taken.
Step 1
Reset your computer’s PRAM.
Step 2
If your model has user-replaceable memory, and you've upgraded the memory modules, reinstall the original memory and see whether there's any improvement. Be careful not to touch the gold contacts. Clean them with a mild solvent such as rubbing alcohol. Aftermarket memory must exactly match the technical specifications of the machine.
Step 3
Back up all data to at least two different storage devices, if you haven't already done so. One backup is not enough to be safe. The backups can be made with Time Machine or with Disk Utility. Preferably both.
Erase and install OS X. This operation will destroy all data on the startup volume, so you had be better be sure of the backups.
Step 4
Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service provider to have the machine tested. -
Learning PHP, should I wait for PHP 6 or begin right now with 5?

Well I liked PHP syntax somehow when I readed some code, and also that it can be used for web and desktop apps, but if you've got a better suggestion instead of flaming you could of course say that
I actually didn't mean to flame, hence my "no offense" but people who are used to languages with more structure and design might be slightly bewildered. As I said, I use PHP myself for various projects, it's a love-hate thing really. Anyway, I found myself productive in replying here by stating that I would recommend PHP for whatever dynamic web page has to be made. It DOES get the job done easily, just it usually isn't pretty .
Don't worry about that, I was at a conference held by Lukas Smith ( PHP's Release Manager ) yesterday, and he himself told everyone that PHP is a "patchy" language were there are no defined rules, no real guidelines or anything, but that's also why it's so powerful ( still some guy who came to discover what was PHP were kinda scared xD ). It also prove once more that the community can do awesome work and that open-source is a really good way to go -
I am unable to make my payments right now, what can i do?
Hi. I am unale to make my payments right now. Money is extremely tight and I can't afford to make my payments. I am already past due on October's payment. I don't want to cancel my subscription because I will be able to pay for it hopefully within a couple of months, but I also don't want to be charged for cancelling. Is it possible for me to just put it on pause? I don't care if I can't use my programs, but I just don't want to cancel it. I just need to pause it until I can make my payments again. Here's what we're up against.
Windows 8.1 - Flash Player for IE is embedded ny Microsoft. It can't be downloaded, upgraded or replaced from here.
That's half the battle.
IE11 - Microsoft really did a numnber on it. Browsers use "User-Agent Strings" for websites to identify the browser and its engine and the websites provide the proper content based on the ID from the Strings. The "geniuses" (sarcasm intended) in redmond, WA decided it'd be a really good idea to change IE11's User-Agent Strings to make websites think it was something else. Some sites ID it as a Gecko browser (Firefox), and some as a Webkit browser (Chrome or Safari). Now, here's where the real genius shows through. With out a Gecko or Webkit browser engine (IE has a Trident engine)... The content won't play properly if it even plays at all. And most of the time it doesn't at all. What happens is IE becomes an "unidentified" browser. The pages can't recognize the browser, so they don't recognize any of the plugins, like Flash Player.
So far, Microsoft has made NO indication that they have any plan to fix it soon. In fact, since they came up with this idiocy, I seriously doubt they'll even acknowledge what a major problem it is.
Microsoft's recommendation is to use Compatibility View for affected pages, and "pretend" you're using a different browser. Trouble with that is it has seen limited success at best, and you have to individually enable it for EVERY page that has problems.
I'm not big on "pretending" so I recommend actually using another browser.

Chrome (from Google)
ANY of those will work where IE11 won't, with the Flash Player Plug-in (For all other browsers), and Chrome doesn't even need that because it has its own Flash Player plugin built in. -
Tuesday night (2/3) I ordered a droid maxx using an upgrade because my s4 LCD screen shattered. I was told it would be over night shipping,a nd I should get it Thursday. I borrowed my wife's phone to call verizon last night to ask why it was still listed as "in processing" and I was reassured I should get it today.As of now, it's still listed as "In processing." When I asked a chat rep how it could still be in processing and I still supposedly get it today (as they had initially reassured me), they referred me to customer care. I won't be able to call verizon for quite some time because I don't have a phone myself right now. Help!
i am in the same boat, ordered tuesday after 4pm, as they said it would ship by 4pm the next day and 2 day shipping used.. have no Fedex tracking number, but found out once order is made,theres a place called the warehouse that can hold 3 days, before shipping anything out or the ware house.. so now instead of being home and able to sing for the phone, we will have to shift work schedules, one verixon decides that they will ship my phone to my house. so for 2 day shipping i may get it after 1 week..been told for 2 days in a row that it will ship... nothing but online sales tells me no delays no problems, but warehouse says it special configuration on my phone takes 3 days, but cant tell me when it will ship, or be delivered..

We have a Windows XP desktop with iTunes for windows. The hard drive needs to be reformatted. Right now, the computer will not connect to other computers on the network. Can I save my iTunes songs to a thumbdrive, then re-load after reformatting? How do I do it?
Copy the entire iTunes folder out to the drive. If it is too big to go as one copy stuff over to another computer in batches. It is important to have not only the media but the library file in order to properly restore your library.
See also this User Tip. Assuming the machine won't connect to the internet you could download the SyncToy installer on another machine and then transfer it with the thumb drive. If it will connect to the net don't forget to deauthorize the machine before reformatting the hard drive.

What happened to my music when I downloaded the latest version of Itunes? I had quite a few songs there and now NOTHING. I want to uninstall this version and go back to the older one. how do I do this without wiping out whatever else is left on there?
