So many iMac problems today. Now 'attach' is not working in Mail
What is going on with my computer? I did an update yesterday now so many things wrong. Cannot attach anything in Mail, no photo uploads work on various photo sites. Anyone know what is going on? TY!
Guests accounts typically don't use any login items. Have you tried a safe start, by holding the shift key down when you boot (may take awhile to boot), to see if the system behaves any differently? A safe boot doesn't load login items and does some disk maintenance. Or you could just create another userid without any login items to see it things work. If so, you now know where to look ... something is getting loaded that messes the system up. Check login items and in system preferences looks at any software listed under 'other'.
If you can't sort it out via login/startup items, you may need to reload your system.

prompted to update iTunes today and now it does not work. tried reinstalling and caanot successfully reinstall.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

This is a user-to-user support site not a place to reach techs. You can make a Genius Bar appointment at your nearest Apple Store and see if you can do an out-of-warranty replacement or you can use a 3rd party repair site.

Accidentally copied microsoft word icon to desk top. Now program will not work. Error message says cannot be opened because of problem. How do I re-install ?
Drag the Word icon back to where it belongs.
Applications > Microsoft Office 2011 > Put Word there.
I'm assuming you have Office 2011. If you have 2008 there should be a similar location to put Word. -
I do not know why, but I can not go to the App Store! before I went there without any problems but now I can not connect with App Store
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Finder > Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: ~/Library/Cookies
Click Go then move the com.apple.appstore.plist file from the Cookies folder to the Trash.
Try the App Store. -

What OS X version did you upgrade from? What iPhoto version did you have before upgrading? You cannot upgrade a version of iPhoto from a pre-10.10.2 OS X version installation. You needed iPhoto 9.6.1.

I am having real problems with my hotmail account not working on my IMac but works absolutely fine on my Iphone 5. Can anyone help with the setup for iMac. I am with BT for my Broadband. I am cionverned if I route my Hotmail accoutn to GMail will iy stop working on my Ipone.
How are you accessing Hotmail? Via your web browser? Are you using Apple Mail? Outlook?
The answer will be different depending on how you want to access Hotmail.
If you are using an email client (like Apple Mail, Outlook, Entourage, etc.)) then you need to set up a mail account in your email software.
The incoming Hotmail settings are these:
Incoming server: pop3.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address (aka "me @ hotmail.com" or "me @ live.com")
Password: Your Hotmail password
POP port: 995
Use SSL to connect : yes
The outgoing Hotmail settings are:
Outgoing server: smtp.live.com
User name: Your full Hotmail email address
Password: Your Hotmail password
SMTP port: 587 (override the default port if necesssary)

Ipad2 gives me ""accessory is not supported" message w/ VGA adapter that I used lots of times before. Now it's not working. Why? and how do I get it back to normal functioning?
I used the (Apple branded) VGA adapter lots of times last year. Now I got back to one place I used it many times and it does not work. When I restart iPad with the adapter connected, I get the "accessory is not supported"message. But that same accessory WAS supported before.
This is very annoying as I planned a whole bunch of presentations starting this week to do with my iPad2 and that adapter.I received the same error message, "Accessory Not Supported" from both the VGA and DV video adapters I purchased, both were boxed direct from Apple. However, to bypass this problem I simply clicked on Photos icon on iPad2 and flipped through photos until it displayed on my projector. I then exited the Photos app and my home screen displayed fine on the projection screen.
Some logic issue with the video adapters, but launching Apple Photo app initializes the video adapters then they work fine for mirroring after that.

Garageband is not picking sound from builtin mic (rMBP).
I recorded some tracks, now it is not working. I have checked GB Preferences, Audio/MIDI > Audio Input > Built In Microphone.
All other apps can use the mic. Dictation, Skype etc. can use the mic!
Monitoring is switched ON at GB, it picks sound only some other app, eg. Skype, is used to access the mic.
Can any one help me, Please!
Many thanks!I have foud the solution - rather stupid. The system setting for audio input was at 70%, increasing it to 100% solves the problem!

I downloaded the newest verion of itunes. Now quicktime is not working...error 2096. I have uninstalled and reinstalled itunes. still nothing. i have read countless other people having the same issue. What is the problem?????

That one is often a compatibility mode problem. Try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

iPhoto says it won't import photos from my Fujifilm Finepix S1000 camera because it's the wrong format (jpeg). It always has before... but I upgraded to Lion then went back to Snow Leopard and now it's not working. Suggestions? Thanks!
As a Test:
Hold down the option (or alt) key and launch iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Create Library'
Import a few pics into this new, blank library. Is the Problem repeated there? -
