So my friend gave me a ipod touch 5th gen i went to reset the ipod through the settings but after i hit erase ipod it stopped doing anything all you see is the apple sign and a line under it...it has had the same thing on the screen for 2 days ...
so i bough an ipod touch 5th gen from a friend i went to the settings and tried to factory reset it the ipod...so i hit erase ipod then it went dark..then showed the apple sign and a line under it...but thats it it has had that on the screen for 2 days it wont connect to itunes and i did the rebot thing with the power and home button and it still wont do anything i need help please

Ipod touch 5th gen suddenly not compatible with volvo s60 through usb
My 5th gen ipod touch is suddenly not working in 2013 Volvo s60. When I plugged it in via usb this afternoon (as usual), message came up on screen saying ipod was not compatible with this accessory. I've already tried resetting it by pushing home and power button at same time but it didn't work this time. Worked fine until today. Any thoughts?

Is there an email account setting somewhere on my iPod touch 5th gen where I can reset the number of unopened emails in the inbox to zero? This worked fine until I installed iOS7, and still does on the other devices (Blackberry, windows 8 PC/Outlook 2010) And it only does this on the occasional email and not in all accounts. I won't repeatedly delete/reinstall the accounts as suggested elsewhere. Thanks.

I have had them all for only relatively short periods of time yet the lightning cable has stopped working on all of them?
On the touch, charging has stopped completely?
Is this a manufacturing issue with the new charging system?Hi, yes I'm using the original apple cables.
This definitely isn't user error nor confined just to me, the devices are used by different people in the home.
On a quick sample around the office (survey of 7 people let me add) 4 of them said the cables had broken on them and had to be replaced.
Having also searched through the forums it appears this is a fairly widespread issue.

My friend's iPod touch 5th gen is locked somehow for 41 years and she does not have a backup. Is there a way to unlock the iPod without restoring it or loosing the pictures and videos from the camera roll, the applications can be redownloaded and she had no music. Your friend may have placed the ipod next to an object that repeatedly pressed the screen. Under certain circumstances this can lead to what appears to the iTouch to be failed attempts to access the system. After repeated failed attempts, the Touch increases the waiting time required for the password and may ultimately lock in the way you describe.

I have an Ipad and an Ipod Touch 5th gen both on the latest firmwares but they won't connect via Bluetooth whenever I try even though both shows that the devices are discoverable. if i factory reset my ipod touch(5th gen), can i reset it to the option 'set up as a new ipod', and then i can just go into the app store/itunes store and log into my apple ID so i can just restore my music and apps and not icloud with photos, contacts, ect. and then later i can add contacts that i need/want instead of them restoring them from icloud?
The reason i asked this question is because i have been wondering this a lot ever since i got an exchange on this ipod (and ive only had it for a few weeks now) because my last ipod had a lot of problems. so after i restored my ipod with my computer/itunes, i downloaded apps that i wanted, and then when i went to the storage to see how much storage was left, it said 0 bytes. i was freaking out because i didnt know how that could be, i mean, cause like, that is impossible when i just 'purchased' it, that the space was full but i looked and all my pictures were on this ipod and i already put them on my computer so i dont need them anymore thats why i wanna reset it now so there is nothing on it so i can have more space for stuff to do and download on it.
it is updated to iOS 8 but that happened when i purchased it, so i didnt have a choice to update it even though i didnt want to update to iOS 8...

-sierraHey Sierra, You can do just what you have stated. My question, what is your "other"? If it is over 1.5 GB you most likely have corrupt files. Doing a Restore to New, Factory restore should correct it. Just make sure you make a full backup of all information on your iPod to your computer before you restore, so you don't lose your stuff, contacts, videos, pictures, non-iTunes music, etc, use the cable and connect with your computer. Then, via cable, connect to your computer, run the Restore to new, don't use your backup. Treat this iPod as if it was your first one ever. When restore is done, set up and add what info you wish to install on this iPod. The music apps etc you purchased should be on your computer, if not you should be able to retrieve purchased apps and music from iTunes. Any music, videos, apps not purchased from iTunes will be lost to you if you do not save them to your computer or the cloud first. When your done, make a current Backup and you should good to go. I've had my iPod touch 5th gen for a little over half a year now, haven't had any issues until now. Yesterday it randomly shut down, and when I try to turn it back on, the apple logo shows up but the iPod just stays on that screen, it doesn't turn on any further. I think I might need to restore it to the factory settings to get it to work again, but I'm concerned that I'm going to lose all my photos. I found the backup folder in my computer but it doesn't have any files in it. I have over 600 pictures on my iPod and I really don't want to lose them all. Is there a way that I can either get my iPod to work again without restoring, or a way that I can extract the photos without the iPod actually being in functioning condition? The computer doesn't recognize the device when it gets connected via the USB. Thanks!

and try making a backup again. If you can't then there is no way of getting the info off the iPod unless data recovery company can do it. Not cheap.

my ipod touch 5th gen fell outof my pocket while i wasinmy local park it landed on the concrete and the screen got smahed:(
its smashed about 2/sof the SCREEN and i just wanted to see if the screen can be fixed or replacd thereforei do not really want a new ipod because i have lots of very important information on my ipod!
And also my camera wont work now on both sides even though its the screen that got smashed not the back!
