So my Iphone was Stolen []____[]
I was going to friends lake house and I had my phone in a sealed in a baggie. I had lost it and after I returned home my Mother had gotten a call from a person claiming she had found it and it was not working properly. So I had said if it's not turning on don't bother trying to get it returned. So a day or so had gone by and I was on my iPod 4 as a replacement ( the phone stolen was a iPhone 4 ) and I had checked the Photo stream. I had this turned on so almost all photos from my iPhone would go to my iPod and I had noticed a round of selfies from a girl in witch I don't know. So the only possible reason I would find this is she lied through her teeth about my phone no working and had been using it for herself ( new case and everything ) I tried "Find My iPhone" but I was not able to get a hold of the location and was not able to lock it because she had been out of internet connection. But I'm wondering if she wasn't able to go on the Internet how was she able to take selfies and have them get to my iPod? We confronted her over the phone and she stuck to saying it didn't work. A day or two after the conversation about it she took more selfies and they got uploaded to the photo stream. My mom went to the network provider ( Sprint ) and they cut off the phones connection rendering it pretty much useless, Right? I'm not sure if that stops the promblem. I live in Missouri and have yet to report this to the Police. I don't know if I should or not. If I can get some help that would be REALLY helpful.
Thank You,
Liam
First, you should definitely report it to the police.
Second, you need to change all passwords and credit cards associated with accounts on that iPhone.
Third, it was working and it was attaching to the internet or you would not have gotten those photos via PhotoStream.
Having the iPhone disabled by Sprint was a good move, at least that way it is blocked from being used as a phone. However, you should have setup Find My Phone on the iPhone before it was lost so you could track and disable and lock remotely.

My iPhone was stolen a few days ago. It appears to be offline on the Find My iPhone app. If the person who has it turns it on only for a brief moment and then turns it off immediately, will the location still be found? Once it returns to being offline will the location still be sent to me? And also, how can I retrieve my pictures from my iCloud?
Anything is possible.

My iPhone was stolen. I used Find My iPhone app to lock it and display a message. The phone has not connected to the internet to locate it. I contacted the police and they have taken my meid number. How does this work and what are my chances of getting the phone back? Are there other ways the theif can use it. I was told once they put in a new sim card and use it, whatever software the police have, it will show up.
Honestly? In the US (I can't speak to other countries, though I doubt it works much differently in a lot of the world) The police took your report and filed it either in their computers or, on paper. They will now not think of this again. The only time it will cross anyones mind is if, in the course of entering information into evidence about items recovered or seized at a crime scene, the serial number of an iPhone that was found/seized happens to match yours, in which case you will be contacted.
The police in the US can and will do nothing to 'blok' the phone and it's not worth their time to try and locate it unless you know for a fact that it was stolen by a big time drug lord, master criminal, or some other such prime target and they can get a court order to track the location of the phone in order to locate this individual for your own purposes. If they do that, they'll probably keep him under surveilance for a year or so before they act.
Basically, the police don't care about your phone. If they find it, they will give it back to you. They are not, however, going to go looking for it. They have better things to do.
I'm sorry, but that's the way it is. -
My iphone was stolen and we actually recovered it using the find my iphone app! Is there a way I can tell what the thief might have looked at in the interim? I know about hitting the home button twice to see recently used apps, but what if they then swiped to close them? i just want to know if this <bleep> was looking through my private info. TIA
Sorry marcia,
There is no way to tell what activity went on on your device when it was out of your hands.
Sorry,

My iphone was stolen. If i buy a new one and to register with the same Apple ID, my photos will be recovered in the new device?
If you have a backup of the old phone that backup contains camera roll photos. Restore from that backup to get your camera roll photos back

Hi,
My iPhone was stolen before, but luckily i got it back.
Now i cannot activate it with my own Apple ID because the system kept asking me to enter the previous user's Apple ID (yes, the theif)
So I cannot use my iPhone now.
Please kindly tell me what to do and how to do it. I want to use my iPhone with iOS 7!!
Thank you.
JiayiLiDoesn't matter. And if they have any property at all, it's worth the $50 filing fee for small claims court in most places.
If nothing else, filing could force Apple to disclose the email address and other information that was used to activate the stolen phone and lock it, leading to the identity of the thief or someone else involved in the crime.
For me, it would be well worth the $50 even if all I got was an attachment of future wages. Since i don't have the legal right to just shoot the bastage, it's the next best thing. -
My iphone was stolen, I used find my iphone app, and found that it was offline, however when tried locking mode option, I pressed remove device by mistake. Is there any way I can restore the iphone to my icloud/ apple Id again? No manual backup on laptop
The phone will automatically re-appear when it connects to the Internet. However, don't get your hopes up, as thieves know this & will make sure your phone never re-connects so you can locate it.

A month ago my iPhone was stolen, I turned on Activation Lock but it never came out BUT an hour ago somehow my apple ID was changed and someone removed from the account both my iPhone and iPad and the iPad was also remotely wiped. As soon as I saw it I recover the password and return the access to my iPad. But iPhone is not registered for my apple ID any longer. Can Apple help me somehow? I have all the documents and the iPhone box. Will they lock the iPhone and return me access to it. I'm sure it's been attached to another apple ID.
PS. the apple ID I'm using on the discussons is not the hacked one.Try contacting the Apple account security team and ask: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

my iPhone was stolen last night and I'm trying to recover all my photos from that phone and get them on my mac laptop. The iCloud photo stream only imported 1,000 photos from my stolen phone. How can I retrieve all of my other photos?
You have to reset the device to Factory Settings in order to restore it from an iCloud backup. You probably want to back it up as is before you do this.
To do the reset after you have backed up the current device, go to Settings>Reset>Reset all Content & Settings. This will erase the device. If you are signed onto iCloud with Find My iPhone turned on, go to Settings>iCloud and scroll to the bottom to sign out of iCloud before you do the reset.
Once you have reset your device, you will set it up like a new phone. When it asks if you want to restore it from an iCloud backup, select the backup you want to restore it from.
Cheers,

This morning my iPhone was stolen from me, I immediately called it and it had been turned off. So, I went right home to activate the Find My iPhone app on the website so it would call my other contact number. Then going to my AT&T store I was told to go home and submit an insurance claim. Later this evening, I tried to access my iCloud account and I couldn't. Finally, I found an series of emails from Apple at 5:15pm and on verifying my Find My iPhone activation had been disabled and that my iCloud ID had been changed to *********. I don't know who the heck this person is, but they've managed to deactivate the Find feature and hack my iCloud ID email address. How can this happen? How do I get Apple and Gmail to prosecute this person? I still don't know the full extent of what has been hacked into. Does anyone have any helpful insight? Thanks
<E-mail Edited by Host>In terms of your account the best thing to do would be to change the password.
Also just letting you know that you aren't talking to Apple, the people here are Apple product users like yourself. If you wish to speak with Apple follow the link below and call the number for your country:

my iPhone was stolen. I just got a new one and am trying to backup my contacts and data from iCloud. How do you do that?
If your backup is in iCloud, and your new iPhone is already set up, go to Settings>General>Reset, tap Erase All Content and Settings, then go throught the setup screens on the iPhone and when given the option, choose Restore from iCloud Backup and follow the prompts. (If it isn't set up yet, just choose this option when setting it up.)
Be sure your iPhone it connected to wifi and your charger while it is restoring the backup. -
