So my Ipod Doesn't turn on no matter what! What to do?!?!?PLEASE HELP!!!

So this has happened to me before. The solution: buy a different charger. When I did that it started charging. And I was able to use it for a couple of days. Then I let it die one night because I was too lazy to get up and charge it. In the morning I got my Ipod and started charging it with my brand new charger. The screen stayed black and the battery didnt show up on the screen. I have already gone on apple before and tried all of the solutions. After all this is the second time I've had these problems. I've restarted it and nothing happens. I pugged the USB cable into the mac to let it charge like it said on the article from apple and still nothing has hapened! Its been charging like that for two days! I dont know what to do! I cant keep buying new chargers! HELP PLEASE!!!Another problem: when I could still use my Ipod the camera wouldnt work! I dont know why!

- Try:
iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
- Also, inspect the dock connector. Look for abnormalities like bend or corroded contacts, foreign material and cracked or broken plastic.
If not successful that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • My iPhone4 with iOS7 suddenly gone dead. Doesn't turn on no matter what is done. I tried connecting to iTunes and try to sync but the De4vices tab remains grayed.

My iPhone4 with iOS7 was working fine. Suddenly and spontaneously it had gone dead.Neithr was it ever dropped down nor any fluid spilled. It doesn't turn on no matter what is done. I tried syncing with iTunes  but the Devices tab in the iTunes remains grayed. It means it doesn't recognise. What shall I do?

No, No, it was not a question of drained battery. I charged iphone overnight and it was charged to 100%. Hardly 2-3% would have got spent before it had gone dead.Gving benefit of doubt of drained battery, I indeed allowed it by connecting to USB for nearly 10 mts before I  pressed the on button. But it was of no avail.
I searched for suggestions and followed the tip given in the forum. I kept both the home button and the wake up/sleep button pressed for 20 sec. The apple icon appeared and booted. Thanks.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.

  • My Ipod Won't Turn On, No Matter What!?!?

    Please Help:
Recently I downloaded the new Itunes(Itunes 7). After downloading it I was prompted to upgrade my Ipod (30g Video) to the new system (1.2). Almost immediatly after finishing this download my Ipod turned off, and is now frozen and will not turn on. Also, my computer doesn't recognize when my Ipod is plugged in, nor does the "Do not disconnect" screen come up, my Ipod stays blank. I called Apple they told me that I can send in my Ipod for it to be fixed, but the hard drive on the Ipod will be wiped. I recently bought a new computer and do not have any of my songs in my library, this is over 2000 (2000 + dollars) songs I have bought that I am currently on the verge of losing.
I have tried various USB ports, two different computers, restarting my Ipod, talking to apple technichal support, putting my Ipod into disk mode, manually trying to get the compter to recognize the Ipod through the manager, and smashing on my desk out of anger hoping that something might happen (just kdding). I believe thats everything, any other ideas you have are greatly appreciated. I have tried the 5 r's.
If anybody has any ideas on how can get my computer to recognize the Ipod is plugged in so I can back up all the songs (via my computer, ipod...copy all music files) would be greatly appreciated, that way when I send in my Ipod and then get it back, I can put my songs back on.
    Thank you in advance!

Try uninstalling iTunes 7 and downgrade to iTunes 6, search the forum for the link. Try plugging in your iPod in iTunes 6 and see if it is recognized. If that doesnt work, try getting rid of iTunes completely, and then plug in your iPod and see if it shows up as an external storage device. If it does, copy all your music to your computer so you wont lose it. Don't know what else to try, let us know if it works.

  • IPod won't turn on no matter what I try!!

Maybe a couple days ago, I noticed that my iPod wouldn't turn on, even if I toggled the hold switch or held down menu. I know it should be charged, since I have a home iPod dock where I keep it charged. I then plugged it into my computer with the USB cord, but my computer didn't even acknowledge that the iPod was connected. I have used two different USB ports, and still nothing. Please, ANY IDEAS?!

Firstly, sorry for my poor English, but I would like to share with you my experience, and hope that it may helps you.
Since the release and update of iTunes 7, I have not faced any problem, but I heard a lot of articles from this forum about the errors 1417, 1418, 1428 and 50 etc. I could not make any suggestion and find a solution about it, all I could do is to copy some threads from some successful cases mentioned on this forum.
Until yesterday, I finally received a 4th Gen 20GB iPod (around 2 years old)from a friend and asked me whether I could fix it for him, which has been left untouched as a paper-weight for almost 2 months.
I tried to turn it on, and the screen was completed blank and the device looked dead. Before doing anything I prepared the following:-
    1. A window based PC
    2. A Mac computer
    3. An USB iPod cable
    4. A Firewire iPod cable
    5. An iPod AC charger
As the iPod was previously formatted on a PC, therefore I tried to plug it with a PC via USB cable, it did not response and not able to get recognized by the PC. I ejected the iPod and connected with an AC charger, after a few minutes, I did a Reset for the iPod
    How to reset iPod
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=61705
The iPod showed an Apple sign, it stuck there for almost a minute, the screen then showed a battery with an exclamation mark sign, and after a minute, the iPod turned off itself. I was sure that the iPod carried very low battery, and could not be charged by connecting it with any computer (both Mac and PC).
I decided to let it have a charge with an AC charger for a bit longer, after 10 minute I did the Reset again, this time a sign of folder with exclamation mark showed up after the Apple sign, and again could not get recognized by a computer.
I changed my mind, and put the iPod into disk mode
    Putting iPod into disk mode
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93651
Instead of connecting with a PC, I plug it with my Mac using a Firewire cable, it did not response, so I switched the cable to an USB, interestingly, the iPod got recognized and a window pop up indicating that the iPod needed to do a Restore. Therefore I clicked ìRestoreî, after a few seconds, an Error message pop-up with Error Message 1417, the sign that I have been waiting for quite sometime.
I ejected the iPod and the screen immediately showed a folder exclamation mark (a sign indicating a corrupted or a failure iPod OS). I am forced to put the iPod into disk mode again, connected with the Mac computer and open the Disk Utility
    1. Open the disk utility, hope your iPod appears there (left hand side), highlight it
    2. Go to Tab ìPartitionî, click either ìDeleteî or ìPartitionî, if fails, skip this step and go to 3
    3. Go to Tab ìEraseî , choose Volume Format as ìMAC OS Extended (Journaled), and click Erase, again if fails, skip it and go to 4
    4. Same as step 3, but open the ìSecurity Options....î and choose ìZero Out Dataî before click Erase. It will take 1 to 2 hours to complete.
    5. Eject your iPod and do a Reset
    6. Open the iTunes 7 and click ìRestoreî
It managed to complete the Restore process, and started to sync with the iTunes. However, it got stuck at the song no.238 from the total of 2000. I left it for an hour, but with no process, instead the iPod became ìHotî and the iTunes showed an Error message of 1428. I ejected the iPod from my Mac computer, the iPodís screen turn to show the famous killer icon;ìThe Sad iPodì.
This time it was totally dead, even failed to put it into Disk Mode and non of the computer could recognize it. Sigh, I hated to do it but I knew that I must did the following:-
Holding the iPod in my Palm, and hitting it on a surface of a Sofa with 5 attempts.
Did not surprise me, the iPod turned on and it showed the Language Menu on the screen. So, I put it into Disk Mode and connected with my window PC.
The PC showed a sign and indicated that an USB device had been connected with it. I opened the iTunes and did a Restore there.
However, an Error Message 50 showed up, but I were not worried about it, connected it back with my Mac computer with it in Disk Mode. As expected the iTunes opened and allowed me to do a Restore there.
This time it managed to complete the process and a window of register pop up. After the completed the process, the iPod started to sync with the iTunes again, which finally managed to complete the process.
I left it connecting with the AC charger overnight. In the next morning, I switched it on and have a play with it, I am so glad as it is working like a charm.
From the above experience, I would like to share it with the user the following:-
    1. It always better to charge with an ac charger instead of the computer, as when an iPod carrying with very low battery, it may not able to get charge from a computer
    2. Try to connect the iPod with a computer, switching between USB and Firewire
    3. Try to format an iPod with HD problem, with a different kind of computer e.g. Mac or PC, as the formats are totally different, the way it formats may able to solve the bad sectors on the HD
    4. It may get better chance to get your iPod recognized, if you put it in Disk Mode
I hope the following works in your case as I did.

  • My iPod will not turn on after interrupted iOS 6 update. Please Help!

I need help with my iPod Touch 4th Generation! It was in the morning and I was getting ready for school, and I saw my iPod needed the iOS 6 update. So I updated it, and when it was installing (showing that bar) I accidently was late, and took my iPod with me. I left the Wifi Area and now when it turns on the apple logo darkens and then it goes to a greyish blueish screen. Sometimes when it turns on the apple logo darkens and then goes to the same screen with a bunch of lines across it. What happened, and how do I fix it? If I turn it off it turns on by itself and then does the same as above. Please help me!

    - Try a reset.
Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Then connect to your computer and try to restore.
    - See if placing the iPod in recovery mode will allow a restore. For recovery mode see:

    lost/stolen
No app on the iPod is required.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected, on a computer browser go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it unless you had iOS 7 on the device. With iOS 7, one has to enter the Apple ID and password to restore the device.

  • HT3204 I can't download apps to my ipod 5th gen - ever since I updated to the ios7.4 :(  Please help!

    Hi ~
I recently upgraded to the ios 7.04 and ever since I am unable to download apps to my ipod (5th gen).
The new apps show up in my itunes library but they will not download onto my ipod.
I feel as though I have tried everything.
Please help with whatever tips you may have for me!
    Thank you!

I had to do a quick check, thanks! Here are a few I think should be working:
    Temple Run
    Sunday Lawn
    Where's my Water
    Dora Dress up
    Dora ABC
    Spy Mouse
    Super Why
    Spongebob Marbles
Some other apps say iOS 4+ but don't list the iPod Touch 2nd gen in the description, so I'm guessing they just don't work no matter the OS. However, the apps listed above say OS 3+ and just say ipod touch, so I think they should work. I'm running iTunes 10.3 but not the most recent release, and am updating as I type just in case that's the problem. Thanks for any help or advice!
