So really how much is my Option 1 data limit of 10...

Greetings Gurus,
Here is my conundrum. I try to monitor my usage and use the broadband monitor on the ' my BT page' pasting the figures into a spreasheet.   So far so good, all I need to clarify is just how much is my daily allowance?
Say for the month of November withits 30 days, Is the daily allowance 1/30th of exactly 10 Gigabytes (or 10,000 Megabytes) or is it 1/30 of what some in the data community regard as 10 Gigabytes which is 10,737.42 megabytes.
It makes quite a difference  and you never know it might save me £5 if i creep over my monthly limit. Over to the experts - all opinions welcome or even a definitive answer from BT.
TTFN

Cannot fault the maths here my Amigos, thanks for the rapid response and so good to see that standards of numeracy are being maintained
I got the same answer on my Sinclair Scientific
Gonna keep an eye on the utilisation and amend my spreadsheet to be exactly 10Gigabytes/10000 Megabytes instead of my more optimistic figure.
Any other views welcome on when is a Gigabyte not a Gigabyte

  • How much space used by App + Data

Is there any way to determine how much space is used by each app including it's data?
I have estimated how much space my apps should be occupying and it's 2 GB less that what iTunes shows. I can only assume that one ore more of my apps is taking up much more space that I think it would. I do have an app that is storing lots of photos. After estimating the total size based on the size and number of photos and talking to the developer it does not account for the missing space. The best thing is to actually see true app sizes with their data but I can't figure out how.
    Thanks

    HI Steve,
I do have an app that is storing lots of photos.
Something to keep in mind when syncing photos. When syncing photos to iPad, iTunes automatically creates a size optimized for iPad, if necessary. See “Syncing with iTunes” on page 28 from the iPad online user guide available here.
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/enUS/iPad_UserGuide.pdf
That could make a difference in the space available on your iPad.
The best thing is to actually see true app sizes with their data but I can't figure out how.
Try resizing images on your computer first, then sync to iPad. If you are PC / Windows, help here:

  • How much to identify pending txn/data during oracle streams latency

    Hi ,
I have configured Downstream replication between database. Sometime i am getting latency due to large txn. Latency  is taking more than 6 hrs to drain. How to check below things
         pending transaction?
How much data's are in pending?
How long it will take to replicate.
Could you please help on this

Hi, You can try as below:
    Source Side
Replication is very quick. You can see the progress as below:
    1. Sql> Select capture_message_number from v$streams_capture;
    XXXXXX
    2. Query the current archived logfiles that the stream is processing;
    QL> select name, completion_time from v$archived_log where XXXXXX between FIRST_CHANGE# and NEXT_CHANGE#;
    NAME                                               COMPLETION_TIME
    /AGNCSYST/arch/1_299.dbf                           28-07-2009 13:26:48
Repeat this query a couple of times to see the progress.
When you will get null value, then Capture process is up to date.
    TARGET/ Stage side
Then check on Stage side to see the progress
    1. Run below SQL -- APPLIED_MESSAGE_NUMBER should moving
    column APPLIED_MESSAGE_NUMBER heading "applied_scn" format 999999999999
    column OLDEST_MESSAGE_NUMBER heading "oldest_scn" format 999999999999
    select APPLY_NAME, APPLIED_MESSAGE_NUMBER, OLDEST_MESSAGE_NUMBER
    from dba_apply_progress;
    2. Check how far apply process
    select (APPLY_TIME-APPLIED_MESSAGE_CREATE_TIME)*86400 "Latency_in_Seconds",
    (sysdate-APPLY_TIME)*86400 "Latency_in_Seconds",
    TO_CHAR(APPLIED_MESSAGE_CREATE_TIME,'HH24:MI:SS MM/DD/YY')  "Event_Creation",
    TO_CHAR(APPLY_TIME,'HH24:MI:SS MM/DD/YY')  "Apply_Time"
    FROM DBA_APPLY_PROGRESS;
    Latency_in_Seconds Latency_in_Seconds Event_Creation    Apply_Time
                  1915                617 11:00:04 08/18/11 11:31:59 08/18/11
Compare the value of Event_creation and Apply time.

  • I have 6gb of data, so how come I'm reaching my data limit?

My phone says I've only used 3.5 gb? Is this an iPhone problem, or a network problem?

I can't tell from your post whether you are asking about data storage on your phone, data storage on iCloud or cellular data usage.
If you go to Settings > General > Usage, the numbers shown there indicate how much data you have stored on your phone. The total available depends on the amount of memory in the phone you purchased.
If you go to Settings > General > iCloud, the numbers there refer to your iCloud storage.
If you go to Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Usage, the numbers there show how much data you have transmitted and received over the air using your cellular data network allowance. Note that those cellular data numbers are since you last reset them at the bottom of that screen.

  • How much am I charged for data overage?

I know I had this information when I changed my plan, but now I can't find it.  The only thing I can find here on-line says that I get charged $15/500MB over.  Is that correct?  So if I go over by 2MB, I'll get charged the same as if I go over 500?

Depends on which data plan you have, i.e.,
for plans 1 GB and above, data overage is $15 per 1 GB over
for the 500 MB plan, data overage is $15 per 500 MB over

  • HT1689 How do I disable the 50mb data limit on 3g?

I have paid for an unlimited data plan and can not use it. Every time I try to download something I get a message saying item over 50mb conect to wifi or pc.
If I had known about this I would never have bought an iphone, is there some way to disable this, or will I throw this usless phone away and get an Android.

I don't buy that...and don't understand the cap...  same carrier with Android device and same plan doesn't have a data transfer limit.  One of the many reasons I'm looking forward to dumping this thing once my contract is up.  Apple requires a lot more functionality before they will win my business back.  Small examples...memory card, bluetooth file transfers (to non-IOS devices), no download cap, competive answer to 'swype' typing, and file management system to save and transfer files other than movies and pictures.

  • How much bandwidth does iChat audio chat use?

I have a friend who has a broadband connection via a 3G/Edge cell phone connection in Europe. She has to pay for bandwidth in chunks of 500mb. Anyone have any idea how much bandwidth audio chat uses on an hourly basis.

It's complicated by how much data you can send in Video with Audio or Audio only or text chat and by what rate then can accept it.
iChat normally sends Audio chats at about 25kbps up to about 48kbps
After that is a question of ding the math.
This will give the rate that is th Max. What you will not know is how much of that is actually data measured as Download over the service.

  • How much can 16GB of data hold?

I am looking to at  a new iPhone 6 but don't know how much storage to get. How much can 16 GB of data hold?

A 16 gig iPhone is going to have around 12 gigs of free space.

  • Where do I go to find out how much memory I have left?

Where do I go to find out how much memory I have left?

    Use the Settings app.
    Settings > General > Usage
You should see how much storage space is used on your device and how much remains. It takes a little while for the apps section to update but that area will tell you how much storage is being used by each app. Tapping on the > next to an app will provide information on how much storage the app requires and how much is being used by data and files.

  • Remove option for Data Tracking and Drill Mode

    Hi all
We have integrated a bunch of Webi reports into the SAP Portal. My question is now how to remove the options about Data Tracking and Drill Mode in the top right hand corner? I guess it is some special right we need to deny in the Access Level, we have defined. But if I deny data tracking and drilling in the Web Intelligence section of the Access Level, it has no effect.
    Please assist.
    Best regards,
    Martin Søgaard

I, too, am perplexed by this change. Then again, I've been perplexed by most of the changes Apple has made to products/os in the last few years. I'm thinking that I may not only change browsers, but hardware/software also. It's issues like this that make me wonder if anyone on the Apple design team actually uses any of their products, or maybe they think we are all just too ignorant to be able to use a computer.
Making things simple to use shouldn't equate to removing advanced functionality, but it seems that's what Apple believes it to be.
    Really disgusted now.
    Thanks Apple.

I know of no way to do this with Reader or XML.

  • How much deep I have to erase my disk after malaware infection? (security option)

    Hello,
I got a Malaware from a website and I want to be sure that i will completely remove from my Mac.
Is it relevant how much, sorry for the incorrect term, "deep" I will erase the disk?
Does it need the maximum security option or a quick erase will solve my problem?
    Thanks for the patience

  • Option to Limit How Much Phone Storage Spotify Uses

I have a starred list that is not huge by most standards: 1700 songs or so.
It's too large to fit in the available storage on my phone which is 4 or 5 GB (some of the files are local files which are probably a bit bigger than the low-bitrate ones Spotify uses for streaming).
I have a Nexus 4 with no SD card slot.
For a long time that was no problem, Spotify occasionally complained that it was out of space but most of the songs were available when in airplane mode even if some weren't, and Android seemed to enforce that it always had enough space to upgrade apps and whatnot.
But now since I've upgraded to lollipop, Android wants to upgrade all my apps and a lot of them seem to have grown. Once available space goes below 500MB Android refuses to download app updates any more so I'm stuck without being able to update any apps.
I'm trying to figure out how to limit the size of the storage used by Spotify and I can't find a setting in Spotify or in Android to do that.
It seems amazing to me that neither Spotify nor Android have this capability.
If I can't do that my only options would be to create a second "Mobile Starred" list with less songs which would be a management nightmare, or delete all of Spotify's data via Android settings, upgrade my apps, then download the Starred list again, after which Spotify would just fill up the phone's storage again immediately and I'd be back in the same boat the next time an app wants to update.
If Android is not going to provide an option to limit how much storage is used, then Spotify should do it.
I don't know if this is also an issue on iOS or not.

    Hey agraham.
While perhaps not the solution you were looking for, I've just finished a Spotify web service that attempts to automate the creation of a limited-size randomly sampled playlist from a variety of sources (library and/or playlists). This would automate the creation of your  'Mobile Starred' playlist and will perhaps be sufficient for you as it was for me.

  • How much can high ISO RAWs really be improved?

    Hi everyone,
I've taken some test pictures with my new Panasonic FZ150, some of them in difficult conditions (night and/or lens at full tele) and at various ISOs. I then tried to see how much of an improvement can be brought about by the processed RAW file, in comparison with the JPG that was produced by the camera at the same time. I did this test because, in my opinion, the JPGs of the FZ150 at high ISO are too noisy to be of any use, and to see whether the (already good) low ISO ones can be improved even further.
Howver, after playing around with the Develop settings in LightRoom 3 (lum/hue NR, sharpness, detail, etc), I did not manage to get the RAWs to really look any better than their JPG counterparts, at least in terms of the trade-off between noise and detail. So I am now wondering if this is really the limit of the camera's RAW pics and/or of LightRoom (in other words: whether it's worth even bothering with RAW), or whether I am simply not using LightRoom skillfully enough!
Therefore, if anyone enjoys a RAW challenge, I'd be very curious to see just how good the following RAWs can be processed to become, particularly the high ISO ones. Many thanks in advance!

Been playing around with LR some more, as well as with RawTherapee, but still can't obtain a significant improvement in terms of noise/detail. Any input from more experienced RAW users out there would be very much appreciated

  • How much faster or better is the new iMac... really?

    Hello all,
I have a 20" 2.33Ghz C2D iMac w/256Meg video RAM, and 3Gig of RAM. I understand that many factors come in to play when you compare the over all speed of a computer. How much faster, over all, is the new iMacs over the system I have? Has anyone tested the two next to each-other yet? I am sure the new one is faster in some ways, but is it really lots faster in over all performance, or just a little?
    Apple //GS

    Hi Patrice,
Within Apple’s slim new 21.5- and 27-inch iMacs are NVIDIA GeForce GPUs, based on our new Kepler-class architecture, which helps make them up to 60 percent faster than last year’s models. This follows news in June that Apple’s 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display uses Kepler GeForce GPUs.
The new 27-inch iMac offers the GeForce GTX 660M as its base GPU, with even faster GeForce GTX 675MX or GeForce GTX 680MX GPUs available. The 21.5-inch model comes with the GeForce GT 640M GPU, with an available upgrade to the GeForce GT 650M GPU.
    http://blogs.nvidia.com/2012/10/big-imac-news-less-heft-more-kepler/
So, any Apps that use the GPU to assist GPU should be much faster.
Though I don't see it listed here, it may be too new, I suspect it may be supported...
