So, wait, basically I just can't download iTunes 11?

I've only had the iphone for about a month (it's a 4, by the way not a 5) and this is the first time I tried plugging it into my computer to sync apps and the like. When I plugged my phone in, I got an error message that the device could not be opened because I did not have the latest version of itunes. Hmmm, but ok. Went to download it where I got an error message that I couln't get the new itunes because my computer version isn't a 10.6. Because I bought it in 2008. Because it's a 10.5. So, basically what I'm gleaning is, that because, god forbid, I can't buy a new computer every four years, I can't have the basic functionality that's supposed to be part of owning a smart phone. And I can never ever, in any way sync my phone wtih my computer. This is utterly baffling to me. Am I crazy? Better yet, am I missing something? Please help. My four year old computer doesn't warrant free support and I'm not paying 19 bucks to have this ridiculous crap confirmed.

Click here and install the software. If you later purchase an iPhone 5, you absolutely must have Mac OS X 10.6 or newer; that is $19.99 in the online Apple Store and requires an Intel Mac.

What should I do to get Firefox mobile on my phone? Thanks in advance.

So its really useful that you guys do NOT mention this in the linked sys req page:http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/mobile/platforms/
but in the deep in the system hidden wiki page. Please change that! So much people try to download FF mobile beta and have no clue why they cant even download it.

Try using Migration Assistant following this guide:

  • Can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. iPhone, iPad work fine.

I can not download iTunes Match songs on my Mac. It gives an error stating that only one Apple ID can be used at a time with iTunes Match and asks me to wait 72 days until I can download any songs!? Tried to turn off iTunes Match in an attempt to reset it. And now I can't turn it back on. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm pretty sure the songs will need to be physically present on the computer you are syncing the Nano with, but I'm not 100% sure.
Edit: I just attempted to sync music that I have stored in the iCloud, but not written on my harddrive to an iPod Classic and it only syncs the music that is present on the computer. I tried to grab a few iCloud file and throw it on the iPod, but I had to download them before it would work.
So, yes. You do have to have the files already downloaded to sync to a non iOS 5 iDevice.

  • I can't download Itunes 5 and consequently can't download IOS5

    I can't download Itunes 5 and consquently can't download IOS5.

Yes I assume so, I was just wondering if anyone could enlighten me as to how. I'm running version 10.6.8 on a macbook, as far as I can see there's no reason why it wouldn't work.
What happens is when I connect iPhone 3GS it alerts me that the iOS5 software is available, but that itunes 10.5 needs to be downloaded first. I click through to start the download for itunes, then it runs software update, which says that my software is up to date, and that's as far as I seem to be able to go. The version of itunes that I am currently running is 10.2.1, and because I can't update itunes, I can't get the ios5 software. No error messages or anything else, just says my software is up to date, when it isn't.
    Any thoughts/help much appreciated!

  • Can't download iTunes, error message "Key not valild for use in specified state"

I can't download iTunes, keep getting error message "Key not valid for use in specified state"  I uninstalled and tried reinstalling but same issue.

For "Key not valid for use in specified state" errors try moving the folder RSA from C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Crypto\RSA to say C:\<User>\RSA (just in case there should be a need to restore it) then try installing again. This folder appears to act as a cache and should be rebuilt automatically as required.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Can't download itunes because haven't got access to support key

I can;t download itunes because I don't have access to support key.

Sorry, that was just a test to make sure that the only thing that needs to be done is fix that registry key problem, however it still needs fixing. If you reboot you'll find that the iPad is no longer picked up.
    Try this:
    1. Please triple-click on the relevant block of text below to select it and then press CTRL+C to copy it.
    32-bit system
    cmd /k REG ADD HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v iTunesHelper /t REG_SZ /d "\"C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe\""
    64-bit system
    cmd /k REG ADD HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run /v iTunesHelper /t REG_SZ /d "\"C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe\""
    2. Press the WinLogoKey+R to open the Run... dialog.
    3. Paste the text into the box with CTRL+V and then press enter/return. Overwrite the value if prompted.
If there is an error please post back the exact text.
Should you get an "Access denied" error and you know your way around Regedit you could take a look at the current permissions of the Run key and make sure that you have Full Control. This is what I see...
I have full control since my standard login is a member of the Administrators group which has full control.

  • How can I download itunes for my generation 1 ipad

What apps still work for my generation 1 ipad? How can I download iTunes for my generation 1 ipad?

No one is developing applications for iPad 1 devices that are stuck on IOS 5. A compatible IOS Apple iTunes App Store is no longer available. A synchronization via iTunes 12.0.1 to my iPad 1 basically refuses to load almost all applications because newer versions of these applications require IOS 7 and IOS 8 for installation.
Time to get a more recent iPad that can run IOS 8 (or later).

  • Still can't download iTunes 11.1

Hi guys... i just downloaded iOS 7 for my iPhone5 and now can't download iTunes 11.1 for my MacBook Air OS X (10.7.4). After clicking download button, it redirects me to the Thank You page.
    Anybody got same problem?
I know from current discussion that the Apple server seemed to be very busy on Sept 18th while million of users are downloading at the same time (maybe). But today is Sept 22nd. Any clue that the problem still persists?
pls... I can't sync my devices and have lot's work to do before Monday.
    thanks for help guys...

    Hi,
Did you try in the App Store app of your Mac and search for upgrades? iTunes should appear there.
If not, I'd suggest you to clear all cookies from Safari and try again or try to download from a different browser you may have installed.
    Hope that helps.

  • Can't download itunes windows 7

I have Windows 7 and just got a new iphone 5s.  I can't download itunes to my computer.  I push the DOWNLOAD button and it just goes to a screen thanking me for downloading.  I never downloads and I don't even get a pop up box saying if I want to Run or Save to my computer.  I've done all the updates available, and there is no Service Pack 2 available for Windows 7 operating system.  I've turned off firewall protection and other antivirus software.  I need help.

I push the DOWNLOAD button and it just goes to a screen thanking me for downloading.  I never downloads and I don't even get a pop up box saying if I want to Run or Save to my computer.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

  • Where can I download iTunes 10.1 so I can sync my old iPod touch with my G4 running 10.5.8

Where can I download iTunes 10.1 so I can sync my old iPod touch (4.2.1) with my G4 running 10.5.8 ?
I have not found a link on the Apple support site. although there do seem to be links to download many older versions of iTunes.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi varjack,
Thank you for your suggestion. For a number of reasons I choose not to upgrade to iTunes 6.3. As this G4 is running slow (it's over eleven years old) I have made a decision to avoid any software upgrades on my 'legacy' applications. Not only will any new software strain the resources of the G4, but I do not think it a good idea to put a lot of features into my machine that it is not capable of utilizing. The iPod touch (I have been prompted by iTunes) will communicate with my G4 if I have iTunes 10.1. That is the solution I continue to seek.
As far as the iTunes Store goes, I do not use it. One reason is that my iPod touch cannot run many of the new Apps (I'm also unable to find legacy Apps, though I haven't tried lately) and I'm not going to run out and buy a new device from Apple so I can. I just don't care enough.
    Thanks

  • Where can i download itunes 10.3.9 for my mac g5

Hi,i just bought this mac from ebay, which came with a verson 10.3.9 everytime i click software update,it said software up todate already.and my main problem i can't download itune .

Please be very clear on your computer model and what software you are running.  There is conflicting information in your post.
itunes 10.3.9 for my mac g5
Mac Pro, Mac OS X (10.3.x)
    A Mac Pro is not a G5.
A Mac Pro cannot run OSX 10.3.x
A G5 can possibly run OSX 10.3 if it is an older model and has not been upgraded.  I doubt then that it can run iTunes 10-anything though.
Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.
Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).

  • Can't download itunes/ipod updater

I already posted a couple of months ago, but got no response. I've been putting the problem off, but it is extremely annoying.
I'm running Windows XP. My internet settings are ALL set to default. I can't download iTunes or the iPod Updater. I get this error message: "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." I've searched google, these discussion boards, and other discussion websites. I've posted on a couple of them as well, but kept getting the same response- set everything to default and make sure downloads are enabled. Been there, done that! That is NOT the solution, although it seems to have helped many others.
I browsed through the other topics on this thread, but they all seem to be different variations on the same problem. So I figured I'd be better off posting my own than trying to adapt to their problems.
    Any suggestions??

    hi Christina!
... you know, i don't have the foggiest idea about how to fix this one ...
but why not try just cutting the Gordian knot? do you have access to a PC with a CD burner that
    b can
    download the software?
if so, why not download and save to the hard drive the two installer packages (and a QT 7 standalone installer, while you're at it). burn them to a CD-R, carry them back to your PC and copy them across to your hard drive.
    love, b
