After several attempts I couldn't get my BTYahoo homepage to open
I then had the following sreen appear.....
So is Yahoo also offering a similar facility to the BT Web Address Help?

Psd turn into JPEG prewiews after save for web. Help!

save for web>save>save optimised as>save>close. That gives me a jpeg (the previous was a psd), but in the form of a preview thumbnail, top right corner bent, loupe and "JPEG" on it. I did about 20 psd just fine,ending in the folder as jpg images, keeping their previous names and the new "jpeg" underneath. What happened?
Not less odd, as I was shrinking the folder window, (bring in the bottom right corner, but this is probably not related), all the previous ones (the jpeg images) turned into preview icons, too. By moving the cover flow, they turned back into images, and by moving them again, they turned back into jpeg
icons, this time, not with the loupe and the photos, but with 3 geometrical shapes on them. If I bring them back into Ps CS3 and save for web again, and then close, I get a "save changes to the jpeg document?" question,>save, which gives me a regular save as window, and they stay images, and I could end the problem like that, but that might cancel the previous save for web. Help! goodnight now.

I guess I have been sending all along (my almost 2 years of photoshop) inflated pictures of images (which however I take the care of reducing to 1000
pixels from the original 4000 something that they originally are). What's odd for you guys, and normal for me, is that the computer went back to turning
out "normal" .jpg images, in small characters, like it has been doing all along, as if it went on a freaky spree yesterday, and I will probably go along with it, just because i don't know how to provoke deliberatly the JPEG with the loupes which appeared breafly yesterday, and that I am supposed to expect.
I don't have any third party add on (do you mean plug in?) Only GF, sitting there, unused for a year.
Of course now i am intrigued: Marion: what do you mean by :"this may be affected by normal Finder settings" ? Any settings that i can control to get those JPEG with loupes that I should expect all the time?

Web part Help button - Where is it?

I would like to use the web part help mechanism, which seems to be available in the Advanced section when I edit the web part. (see "Help URL" in the image below). If I place a URL in this box to an htm file and save the
web part, I am unclear where I click on the web part or page to have the text of the help message appear. By the way, this is in the context of a NewForm.aspx page, if that matters.

The help URL configured can only be accessed when the web part is edited unfortunately. If you want the end users to see the help URL, you might have to educate them on where to find it.
The help mode has various ways in which you can configure how the help URL acts when clicked.
Menu options available in the dropdown are Modeless (the default),
Modal, and Navigate:
Modeless opens a popup window that allows users to continue working "behind" the popup in other windows while the popup remains open.
Modal opens a popup window that users must manually close before they're able to continue working.
Navigate doesn't open a popup at all, but navigates directly to the help content by refreshing within the already open window.

Need to Add Help links to ESS pages

Hello,
I have a requirement to add helps links to ESS services like address etc.
The services have the roadmap element. Is it possible to add the link besides the roadmap element and right aligned?
Which component should the link be added to?
Is it possible that all the personal info services will have the link pointing to respective URLs?
I figured that I might have to change the sap.compcui_gpxssutils DC. Am I right?
But here I face a problem, that the DC is not modifiable in the DTR.
Please let me know your suggestions.

In Homepage Framework for ESS, there is a help service with every service. Check if this will help you.
You can create a service as a help service. EIC_SERVICE_REQUEST is an example of help service provided by SAP. Then you can configure this help service to any service you want. This way you can provide access to help informationm without changing the code.
To create your own help service, you can upload the help documents(say HTML) in portal KM repository. Create a KM document iView for the document. Create a page out of the iView and configure the PCD path of the page in the Hompageframework service.

BT Web Address Help service, i dont want BT interc...

Hi Guys, I came accross this service yesterday when trying to navigate to a URL that is no longer valid, after doing this i was redirected to a BT Web page saying the URL is invalid and suggesting some alternative pages for me rather than just getting the usual page not found msg from the web browser, i understand this could be a usefull service but i do not appreciate BT hijacking my search information without my express permission even if it is to help me, anyway a quick google search gave me 1 link with instructions of how to disable this service, I cannot find any official information from BT on any of its own sites with regards to this service, it totally smacks of the secret phorm trial that BT was running some time ago. anyway if this happens to you here is a link to the page that helped me to disable it if you so wish.

Web Address Help is a new service launched by BT which provides useful search results in place of an error message when a URL has been typed incorrectly. Customers are automatically given Web Address Help unless they tell us they don’t want it. It is easy to opt out if you would prefer not to have this service.

BT Web address help screws up local name resolutio...

I discovered that since the move to BT Infinity, my nightly NAS backup has been failing.
It's an rsync job backing up from one qnap NAS to another. The destination NAS is named in the rynsc job setup. Ater much faffing I found that the name was resolving completely elsewhere. After much more faffing I located BT web address help sending back the "duff" IP address.
Am I right in thinking that if the DNS sent back a domain unkown message, then the NAS would have tried (and succeeded) to resolve the name locally.
Can anyone who actually knows about networking confirm this? It doesn't seem terribly useful for BT web address help to do this. I've opted out and I think I have got my local name resolution working again. Tonight's backup will tell.

Web address help will upset quite a few things, so its best to stay opted out.
If it still fails tonight, then let me know, and I may have a few other suggestions.

I'm trying to log into a work network which I used to have access to with my old hub. I now have a Hub 3 and the following link says it can't open my preferences - it worked on my old hub but not any more. Any ideas appreciated

Web based help over satellite ISP

Just installed the Mavericks OS X on my 2008 Macbook. All went well. Since I use Exede ISP I had to download the Mavericks App during the midnight to 5AM "late night free zone" as I am limited to a total of 10 gB per month. The download happened very qickly and the install was completed when I awoke. It took me a couple of hours to find the best benefit. For the first time in over a year I have full access to the Apple web based help. Previously any attempt to drill past the initial pages in help resulted in the "you are not connected to the internet life ring." That's all gone with Mavericks. I've noted the same complaint from users of other satellite and wireless ISP's. I hope your installation goes as well as mine and if you're unable to access the Web Based Help, please let us know if Mavericks resolves your issues as well.

Try this:
Go to Safari preferences>security. Make sure that the boxes at the top are checked (block popups is optional). You already indicated you accept cookies.
Go to Safari preferences>general. I would check the box "open safe files after downloading."
If none of this works, post back. There are some really expert people round that will help.

Cant disable BT Web Address Help

One of my vpn clients can connect to the VPN but is unable to do anything when they are connected.
I have been trying to get him to disable the BT Web Address Help service but when ever he disables it, saves the setting and closes the browser, it seems to change back to enabled again when he checks back on the preferences page.
He has tried to change this setting on 2 machines in his house and they all appear to enable themselves again.
Any help is much appreciated.

It shouldn't be doing that (though I too have had it enabled again, just the once, which was very recent - no idea why).
Since I opted out (again), it has remained disabled.
I guess his only option is to call or email BT and ask them to look in to this, or he could sign up to these forums and then ask the forum mods to look in to this.
Putting what is stated on the status of the web address help aside, what happens if he deliberately uses an incomplete URL, for example bthomehub.hom (missing the e - it should be home) - does it go to a BTYahoo page or give an error message?

Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />

If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

PB G4 Ti cant display web adds

Hi all
My PB G4 Ti cant display web adds banners from www.elishacolourprint.co.uk
our imac G5 can. Winddows PC's can but not our My PB G4 Ti.
Installed all JAVA and Apple updates. 10.4.7 1BG ram. Website created with Freeway 3.5.15
Any comments or seggestion.

Hi eww and thanks for the reply. My PB is using Safari Version 2.0.4 (419.3) I have also viewed the site with the same result from Firefox 1.5.0.5 and Opera 2200. There are no additioal plug inns addded just the normal installation.
I will wait to see if this problem lies with just the G4 Ti PB's or try the lasted PB at an Apple store.

I have Yahoo Mail synced on my new macbook pro. It it consistently asking to re-enter the password. Does anyone else have this problem? I have deleted it and reinstalled it several times. It did not do this on my previous macbook.

There are several similar reports on this site every day.
I've never used Yahoo mail and my knowledge of it is second-hand. This is what I've been able to gather.
If you have a free Yahoo account, POP access to incoming mail from a mail client such as Apple Mail is not supported. A free account is accessible only through IMAP (and then perhaps only on mobile devices — the documentation is unclear) or the web interface.
As for a paid Yahoo account, or an account through an ISP such as AT&T, you must enable POP access through the web interface. I've seen reports that you must periodically (every two weeks?) log in to the "Manage Account" page on the website to confirm your identity.
I've also seen reports that eliminating all UPPER CASE letters from the password, and shortening it to no more than 7 characters, may help. That's barely, if at all, adequate for security, and you must be sure to choose the password randomly. It should not be easy to type or remember.
That said, so many problems with Yahoo mail are reported that I can't recommend using Mail as a client for it. You might get better results with another mail client, such as Thunderbird. If not, just use the webmail interface. That's how it was designed to work. Better yet, don't use Yahoo at all.

How can I get my G5 OSX 10.5.8 to quit trying to handle my mail? I have yahoo and when im on a site the computer wont ley me contact them unless i sign up for mail plus which you have to pay for. Is there a way to make it stop?

when I'm on a web site and I need to contact them the Mac wont let me do it. I have Yahoo mail but It wants me to sign up for yahoo's mail plus account which cost money so it can communicate with them. I dont want mail plus and I dont want to have to use different mail then my yahoo account. The only way with what you desire & have is to Right click or Control+click on the eMail link on the site, choose Copy Email Address, open Yahoo Mail in your Browser, New Message, then Paste in the To: bar.
WebMail is a real pain, Yahoo is a pain... are you sure you wouldn't like to modernize & streamline things with a new free POP or IMAP accont like HotMail/Live.com, or GMail?
