So, what new features actually exist in CC Premiere vs. CS6?

Anything new at this point? I know a feature comparision will be difficult as time goes on since the features will be regularly released but I'm curious. I'm debating, I can upgrade from CS5 to CS6 for $525 now and be good for the next few years, or at least until I can see what new features are coming out that I'm missing. Basically, a CS6 upgrade is cheaper than 18 months of CC so what would we expect to miss out on?

For a more extensive, detailed list, check out the post in the Premiere Pro work area blog here:

The Sync Settings feature that takes advantage of Creative Cloud was announced after that post, and is described here:

More in-depth descriptions of specific features in Premiere Pro CC and other apps are also described in other posts on that blog.

  • What new features in Lightroom 6 ?

With Adobe Photoshop Lightoom 6 expected to be released later this year, what new featured would you like to see in the new version ?.

    Dumb Marine,
It seems at least some of your requests are already implemented, thus I was confused by having them requested for Lr6.

This is already implemented, no? I mean, images can be stored anywhere (that's always been true), and @Lr5 one can edit via smart previews when 'real' image is offline.

Lr already takes advantage of 64-bit operating systems (but not GPU acceleration). In other words, the 64-bit version is a recompilation of the source code, not a 32-bit version that runs on 64-bit computers too.

Not sure what you meant by the 2nd part of this, but part1 can be done using Jeffrey Friedl's Online Lightroom Configurator.

User can choose to buy/maintain Lightroom independent of Creative Cloud now. Granted, if you buy Photoshop + Lightroom, Lightroom will be available via the cloud, but even then you can download and install independently if you prefer - stand-alone download will find creative cloud licensing, I *think* (somebody correct me if that's wrong).

It already does - always has.
Perhaps I've misunderstood what you were asking/hoping for in some cases - if so, please forgive and enlighten...

  • How do I find out what "new" features, if any, are in incremental version updates to CC?

In olden days, Adobe would tell you what was fixed and what was added to new micro-versions of a product. I've noticed now that when I get an update to Photoshop or Bridge, it can be over 100mb but nowhere does it say what the update is for like new features, bug fixes, etc. Does anyone know if there is a version changelog or anything similar that explains what each new incremental update does or fixes? Since we are paying now for our Photoshop and new implementations are supposed to be included (thus no more major new versions), I'd like to know what these new incremental updates actually do and what new and wonderous things Adobe has come up with. Anyone know??

    Hi,
You can read about the 14.1.1 & 2 updates here:

  • OT: Windows Vista - What new features do you use?

Hello all. I just got my first Vista machine, and am learning

Hi John - I have Vista Ultimate too - just got it yesterday.
    What you
describe is pretty much what I've heard elsewhere, so I guess
    I shouldn't
expect much excitement. It would be nice if there was a
    little more pay-back
for having to learn a new system and having to put up with
    the security
stuff - you know, some fun or even just helpful improvements.
You haven't tried "smart folders"? I'm going to check that
    out.

  • What new features should be in the second gen. iPod Touch?

    title basically asks the question.
These can be hardware or software new features.

iCal needs some desperate improvements to be a good PDA. Like floating events and a better alarm that goes off more than just once.

  • Did someone here updated their iphone4 to 4.3.5? does any files or apps in my iphone will be delete? and what new features it has? thanks guys!

someone answer me. thanks in advance guys! =)

No files or apps are deleted when updating your phone. In any case, all your content should be safely backed up on your computer.
There are no new features, just bug-fixes and security updates.

  • What new features in 3.0 will not be available to the iPod Touch?

I fully expect that I will not have the capability to use voice control (not sure why, but what is the hardware limitation that does not allow this to work???) for my music, games that require > 128 MB of space to run, and to even think of video or camera... of course! However, is the processor completely different and will the iPod Touch be able to step up its processing speed to the 600 Mhz speed that it is more than capable of doing but has been downgraded to for battery sake? Will I be able to play the new games or will they be a distant wish for me? Also, what are the hardware enhancements in the new iPhone that the iPod Touch does not have?

It is actually not catching up. The speed of the iPod Touch 2G is 512 MHz, but the speed of the iPhone 3GS is 600 MHz. This is very good boost. On top of this, the graphics chips is a much more robust chip. The 3GS is not catching up, but surpassing significantly the speed of the iPod Touch 2G. Of course, the next the iPod Touch will probably be 600 MHz or more and will of course, have the new graphics chip. I did read that they are working on a dual core ARM processor. That would be a nice step up. I think the OS X could handle that quite nicely. Needless to say, I am sure Apple will always have something even better and bigger and stronger for their next release.

  • What can I do to stop Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 from crashing when exporting?

Regardless of whether I have a new project file or an existing one, edits or no edits, whenever I click export, Premiere Pro simply crashes.  Same for Media Encoder - can't even open that one.  I have all of the latest CS6 updates installed, the computer is brand new as of two weeks ago - OSX 10.9.1, NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024 MB.  The only way I've been able to export is through a backdoor: I use the dynamic link in After Effects, then render out my sequences there.  Help?

  • New features in Photoshop Elements 12 ?.

Photoshop Elements has come a long way since it replaced Photoshop 5 LE back in 2001.  It however still lacks many of the more professional features of Photoshop Creative Cloud such as 16 Bit Editing, CMYK color mode and soft-proofing.  It also has a number of watered down or simplified features like the slider depended Adjust Color Curves and Photomerge Exposure rather than HDR editing.  With Photoshop Elements 12 expected to be released in September what new features or functionally would you most like to be added to the new version ?.

A few thoughts related to the Organizer portion:
Comments for tags.  The ‘keyword tags’ in all the versions I’ve used allows you to enter comments about the tag.  However, version 11 introduced ‘people tags’ – but that did not include the ability to enter comments about the ‘people tags.’  For myself, I found the comment field to be very valuable.  I used them regularly to add notes about who barely-recognizable distant-relatives were, and how they were related to me, etc.  I would love to see a comment field added to the ‘people tags.’
Default location for PSE Catalog.  By default, Elements places the catalog in the \ProgramData\ folder (on Windows machines).  The problem is that few users would think to backup this folder as part of routine backup procedures, unless they were backing up the full hard disk.  And, most of the consumer backup utilities (and services, e.g. Carbonite) generally have defaults to only backup the \users\{username}\ folder structure.  As a result, for users who are diligent about doing regular backups, there is a pretty good chance that they are not backing up this very critical file.  Compounding this is the fact that the process to move the catalog to another folder is far from intuitive.  It is virtually impossible to figure out from the user-interface itself.  As I’ve wanted to move the catalog location with each new version of the release, I’ve had to spend considerable time searching the web and Adobe knowledgebase to find out how to do it.  It would be great if 1) the default location was in the \users\{username}\ folder structure, and/or 2) the user could change the location during the installation process, and/or 3) the process for changing the location after installation was simpler and more intuitive
Comments/Captions.  In Windows, there are several pieces of information associated with each picture file (e.g. date taken, camera type, dimensions, etc.).  The comments field is one that I use to enter information about the image (names, locations, events, etc.).  I’ve been doing since before my use of PSE.  It would be great if PSE could grab this information when doing a media import and store it as the PSE caption information.
Folder hierarchy view.  In version 11, the folder-tree pane on the left side of the Organizer only shows folders that have been imported into PSE.  In previous versions, the folder-tree showed 'all' folders - and those that had not been imported to PSE were greyed out.  I found the view in pervious versions to be very helpful, as it served to let me know which directories I had not yet imported.  With the interface in version 11, I either 1) have to make more of a manual effort (comparing my actual folder-tree with that I see in PSE), or 2) rely on memory to realize that PSE is not showing me pictures that I have.
I'm looking forward to the new version.

  • New features in Exchange 2013 that can help speed recovery ?

What new features are available in Exchange 2013 to help speed data recovery ?  anything change to the architecture which means it is no longer needed to restore mailboxes and replay logs prior to restoring data ?

    Hi ITForum2013,
from the Exchange perspective backup and restore is Dumpster.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee364755(v=exchg.150).aspx and, if applicable, you can run your Exchange Servers backupless. So more "speed" is the same improvement on IOps as for the EDB.
This is for availability of you mailbox data.
So you need to define a little more your goals of backup and recovery, while on the other hand there is no more backup "tool" outside of dumpster as you never need it from an Exchange Servers view.  ntbackup is old style. :)

    Martin
