So, why can i not save a jpeg in cs6?

OI,
i just installed my new Photoshop cs6 (with the design standard package, student edition), and set about to make some graphics.
i selected a new file, 300ppi, and set to work.
after a while, i flatten the image and go to save
when i go to save drop down, i get a bunch of odd cool-sounding options, raw, and tiff.
seeing as i just made a normal no-frills graphic, i choose tiff.
when i re-open image, i get a really crappy version of the image, with some odd color bars to one side.
WHAT DID I DO?
RAW isn't any better, it just won't open!
so, any clue as to what i blew up?
i want to put it on the net, not just constantly re-work the jig in PSD!

first: no, i have no other copies of Photoshop on the machine. if something pulled in an erroneous file or old plug in, it did so automatically. Windows has been updating like mad, but i doubt it messes with the Adobe files.
i am working in 32 bit and my laptop uses 32 bit. no problem there.
i took the image to a MAC at school, and saved as a Tiff. it worked fine.
ST, the document is in RGB.

my Windows 7, Asus laptop with i3 processor exeeds the other system requirements.
when i looked at my graphics card, it shows HD family. i got a first-time warning about unsupported graphics, so i set my preferences to not use a seperate graphics processor. i am sure the main processor on my machine can handle it.
any crazy ideas? if not, how might i seek serious help?

When creating a DVD face in Photoshop 13 my save options are limited to .PSE and .PDF. Why can I not save as a jpeg or other file format? This was never an issues in Elements 10 (my previous version).

I just recently purchased Elements 13. I am in the process of creating a DVD face for a video. The design is complete and I would like to be able to save it as a JPEG so I can use it in another program that prints my DVD's. The problem is that it only allows me to save the file as at PSE or a PDF. No other options are available. Why is this? I upgraded from Elements 10. In Elements 10 I have never had a problem saving this type of project as a JPEG. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

ANSWER FOUND!
Once I finished composing my question I went back and spent some time to figure out the problem. Rather than choosing the "save as" option, which doesn't work, or attempting to choose "export" (grayed out), the correct option is to choose "export creation", which is near the very bottom of the initial drop down options. That works! I still think it would make sense to have it as an option in the "save as" area.

Why can I not save a locked Numbers document?

My Numbers is weird, slow and almost impossible to get used to. That's why I now
I still use Appleworks Spreadsheets on my Powermac for doing daily accounting updates, and
only then import a copy to Numbers for keeping copies on my MacBookAir.
I created a template in Numbers, open it for every import, then copy the content of the import
to the template. The template is named Copy 0.
To do that I will import say "12Dec01", then need to open "Copy 0" and duplicate it (so I will not lose this template) then rename the duplicate to "12Dec01". I
then open the imported "12Dec01" and copy its content, then paste it into the renamed duplicate, then "lock" that document.
I now want to save it, but Numbers will not let me save an open document that has been locked.!!!
Why lock it if a locked document cannot be saved? Besides this issue of locking, I now have 4 open documents on the desktop: The import, Copy 0, the Duplicate of it, and the Renamed copy of it.
You know what? In Appleworks you would only have 1 document open which you "save as" with what ever name (in whatever condition of progress you want to save it), wherever to.
Accidentally, I found I can save a locked document but only after doing all these extra steps: In order to lock the document it has to be closed and saved unlocked to a folder first, then opened up again, and only then it can be locked!
This process reminds me of the old DOS systems, which questiioned everything you wanted to do with "do you really want to do that?"
I wonder whether my Numbers is damaged, or whether it has a good reason to be that way?
Or maybe I missed some instructions?

Thanks Jeff, I was not aware that a template could be multi-page. (All the existing templates were 1 page)
But it worked, saving me some steps. When I was finished I renamed the document, and locked it.
Then tried to save it but could not because it was locked. I closed it, went to my Spread Sheet Folder ,
to find it, it was not there. The Finder could not find it either.
So I start over again.
I opened up Numbers and it showed my personal Numbers template folder, it contained both my new
original 4 page template and the vanished saved document!
I tried to delete the template containing these document data and could not - I had to go to the Library/Application Support/Numbers to physically remove it from this folder. Then I started over again. I Finally found out how to make it work: I can now "save as", and then lock, and it will go to place where I want it to be saved and locked.
The secret is: Click on the document title in the menu bar, and it opens up "Save as...", which works the same as in OS 10.4.11, and you can pick the place you want for saving. Once done that, you can then lock the document in the same pull down menu, and then close it.
I also found later that I can delete a template from its folder, by letting Numbers open the templates,
clicking on the one I want to remove, then go to the "Numbers Menu/File/Move to...", select "Desktop"
and from there the selected template can then be thrown into the Trash from there.
It appears now that the real fault of the Numbers software is that the "Save as" command is not available in the "Edit" or "File" pull-down menus, but hidden behind the title of the document.

Why can I not save images?

starting today, I can no longer download images with the save image as option. Most of the time, save image as, is not an option in the list. Most of the time there is a really long menu when i right click on an image. Something is stopping me from downloading images. I believe the problem is with Firefox because, I can still download pictures in the IE browser. Any idea what may have changed and why? I need to download images for my work. I am in so much trouble right now because, I can't get my work done.

oddly, i needed to restart my computer for another issue (i could not hear any sound no matter what i did). luckily, apple has had the insight to include automatic recovery of files and i was able to re-open these applications and have my unsaved files intact. even more strangely, i was able to save my file with the original name.
as a pc & windows convert, this whole thing was a little disconcerting. perhaps i am just used to that environment, but i have never had something like this happen there. (though perhaps i have had other things... )

I have been creating movies and saving them in 1080HD without any problem. Today I can only save in 720. What is the problem and how do I fix it?

Lets say you have a movie with video clips and photos, the video clips are originaly 720p now one of your images just happens to be so large that it reads as 1080p. Thus it would allow you to export as 1080p and this was very common in the old version of iMovie. Now the new version seems a bit smarter it will read what the majority of your clips are and adjust to that resolution. This seems to happen to me at different times, sometimes I can export in 1080p and sometimes not.

If you are saying these options are not available, then there is the question of whether or not you actually registered/entered your key information correctly/at all. If you have, then what kind of files are you trying edit, export, and/or save? Are they DRM? Do you have required third-party components installed?

Why can I not save apn settings on iPad after ios7 upgrade?

After upgrading my iPad2 to ios7, I am unable to save apn settings.

I still have the problem with one service provider, to fix it I use SIM from another internet provider which sim is recognized by my ipad, then I set APN for the first provider and reinsert again the first sim, and works fine.
Ocassionaly I have to do this proccess again when it is misconfigured or after new ios upgrade.
I have IOS 7.04 version

If you tap the picture, you should see a box on the bottom left with an arrow pointing up. The first option at the bottom of the next sheet should be "Save Image"

When you zoom you're not chnaging the image at all, just looking at more closely, like using binoculars. Using binoculars doesn't actually bring the object closer. So with zooming. I think you might want to explore cropping.

I took photos and they saved in my camera roll. they were there the next morning. I took more pictures and they are all gone. why did they not save and can i get them back ?

I took photos on my iPhone on yesterday and they all saved. I looked at my photos the next day and they were still there. I took more photos and now none of the last photos that I took in the last two days are there. Why did they not save? Can I get them back? My storage was not full. I just updated my iPhone to ios 7.1 a few days before.

Close all open apps by double-tapping the home button, then swiping up and off the screen with the app window (not the smaller icon).
Reset your device: hold down the home button along with the sleep/wake button until the screen goes black and you see the Apple, then let go. (No data loss)
