it's ridiculous I really kind of regret buying an iPad... the Internet is literally cut by like 60%... I understand apples concerns.. but come on now, HTML5 is hardly used on the web.
I really can't do much on the iPad at all... no websites with any animation, no games, no videos really... it's a serious draw back, and with other tablets coming out that DO offer it it's a serious threat to the iPad. and with good reson.. this is a Serious problem..
what's the point of having a tablet that only allows you to use half the Internet?

Well i have had a few problems with my phone the main one is that the browser just closes on its own and you have to start from scratch and then it does it again, now my network provider know about the problem but say they are waiting for nokia to release a fix, but nokia dont seem in any rush as its been 10 months since the last one.

Latest available firmware for 5800 is V51, I found the browser is good and not crashing as it used to be before. You have to push 3 to release this firmware from their end, hope you've got the device from them.

How much space does my Organizer hold? Will it ever get full?

Hi, I was just wondering how many pic's will my Organizer hold? Will it ever run out of space? Cause I sure do have alot in there now. Windows xp with 512 of ram.

Thanks for the correction. Yes, the file size in Jet 4.0 was changed to 2
gigabytes. I had forgotten that. I've been retired two years for Heaven's
sake. However, within the context that I brought it up, it was only to
tease a little bit :-) by indicating that there is a physical limit
to the size of the database and, hence, a limit to the number of entries --
i.e. it's not unbounded. Whether it's 1 or 2 gigabytes, it's still finite.
And, for Organizer, it hardly matter much because performance issues would
probably create a practical limit long before the physical limit was
reached.
Jet 4.0 was the last version of the Jet database engine and that was
superceded by the Microsoft Desktop engine (MSDE) and (as of the time of my
retirement at least) was deprecated as a component of the Microsoft Data
Access Components (MDAC). Time marches on. I understand that Microsoft is
replacing MSDE with SQL Server 2005 Express Edition and that standard
support of MSDE will cease at the end of next year. Taking all that into
account, I think I can be forgiven for opining JET obsolete. :-) I have not
heard of a new version of JET in the works. If you have, more power to you.
Being retired, I no longer need to keep on top of database developments or
care to. :-) :-) :-)

First of all, no poster here is privy to Apple's iOS development plans, so we cannot possible know what they may or may not include (and any member who may legitimately know something would be restricted by a non-disclosure agreement to not discuss it).
However, I doubt it. Custom keyboards are not an option on an iOS device as the operating system restricts those sorts of key OS features to what is built in only (rather than let developers change out or alter basic or core features of the OS).
Since 8pen is basically a handwriting/gesture recognition app, it would be up to 8pen to work at developing an iOS app, but it would not be able to act as a universal alternative keyboard to replace the base iOS one.

No, I have not ever used Rage Webhosting, but I have used the product EverWeb with another host.
I think the reason that EverWeb was offered with Rage Software hosting was so that things worked better on their host as opposed to others - it was meant to be along the lines of iWeb and MobileMe hosting - so things like blog comments would only work if the site was hosted on MobileMe etc, however, I believe the Rage had a change of heart, so at first the contact form would not work on anything other than their own hosting, but they soon changed this.
Anyway, there is nothing to stop you going with GoDaddy or Blue Host - they may offer more benefits than Rage. I current have hosting with GoDaddy, Siteground and 1and1 and have uploaded an EverWeb site with Cyberduck with no problems at all.
The reason that I have used others hosts is so that I can change the platform that I use if I want to and GoDaddy, Siteground and 1and1 all support the CMS's like WordPress, Drupal and Joomla, which I have currently been using - Drupal is my favourite at present.
Anyway, good luck with whatever you decide to go with.
Other software worth taking a look at and that had come out with new editions very recently are Freeway Pro/Expresss 7 and Flux V. Perhaps a steeper learning curve though.

I am so tired of random core audio resets and reload of all sample plugins.
It gets very annoying with plugins like Abbey Road Drums or Scarbee Bass libraries.Although they load to their own server still reloads everything.
Waiting everything reload really kills it. And worst of all it happens randomly.

This is not only happening by Kontakt. My Play libraries reload as well.
The problem lies within Logic. Somehow Logic sends a reset to core audio so all samplebased libraries reload.
I also see on my maschine hardware the light goes of and on and all the synrosoft keys shows activity.
This is a huge problem by logic and somehow couldnt be solved since Logic8.
Even with just audio tracks if there are too many after I open the song core audio resets and make me wait before I play.
There is something wrong the way logic handles memory and undos.
It is not possible for me to open two songs without quiting Logic first because Logic does not release the memory of the closed song fully.
Likewise load omnispehere and start browsing patches and you will see that memory gets less and less eventhough you are just browsing.And finally when you select a patch there is the memory getting low error.

Annoyed with JVC/Final Cut Pro import problem; will they ever fix this?

I've shot footage on JVC GY-HD111E in the UK in 720p/25p PAL mode.
I'm trying to import lots of short clips (average 10 seconds) into Final Cut Pro (latest version with 720p/25p support) with a new Mac Pro maxed out with ram and 3 extra internal HDs.
Problem is, on a scene-break i.e. pause/stop, Final Cut detects this and creates a new clip, but it takes about 5 seconds to 'searching for media" before it starts the new clip. Because some clips are only very short, this 5 second delay sometimes means I only get the final few frames of a clip, rather than the entire 5 seconds or so of it.
JVC UK are blaming Apple and are saying it is up to them to fix it as Premiere and Edius does not have this problem.
However, Symbiosis in the UK (who do HD-Connect box) say that the JVC ProHD cameras do not wrap the shots up properly at the end, they are kind of left open and this creates problems on scene-breaks.
I've tried turning off the "create new clip on timecode break" etc, but it does not make any difference, when I do this it simply quits capturing on a scene break. Besides I have about 300 cutaways like this and I don't want to spend the rest of the year breaking them up on the timeline as this would be a futile and long workflow.
I'm importing and working on a native HDV 720p/25p timeline and this is the way I want to work. I've already imported and edited 4 hours of footage, but these 4 hours were easy as all 4 tapes had no start/stop points, they were recorded continuously from beginning to end of tape for 64 minutes each time so importing was no problem; 1 clip per tape.
But now I've come to my 5 tapes containing hundreds of cutaways I'm kind of screwed and need some advise on how I can import them natively in HDV without losing this 5 seconds off the beginning of each clip whilst FCP searches for the media each time.
I've been told this issue is definately with FCP, any ideas how I can get around this?

I haven't heard of this JVC/FCP problem, so I can't comment on it. However, whoever shot the cutaways didn't do you, the editor, any favors.
I've been doing video since 1984, and I've got to say, anyone who shoots a scene that is only 5 or 6 seconds long on tape is making a huge mistake, and it's been that way since the beginning of computerized editing in the late 70s.
Shoot at least 5 seconds of pre-roll before the shot begins, then roll tape for at least 5 seconds after you've got the shot. That's the protocol I've followed for 22 years now. Tape is cheap, edit suite time isn't.
But laying down only 5 to 6 seconds for a scene is wrong, IMO.

I know I'm a little late in the game guys...Didn't know all the details of this retina display business, but I figured it was the way of the future and I should just bite the bullet and get one. Confirming that there will absolutely not be any hi DPI updates for InDesign 8 (CS6) either for Mac or Windows. As Peter indicated, this support was part of a massive code rewrite that went into InDesign 9 (CC) to support 64-bit versions of InDesign and the transition from the so-called Carbon to Cocoa programming frameworks on MacOS.

Keep in mind Flash is a third party plugin not written by Apple. Apple is not responsible for incompatibility issues with the Flash plugin.
Thoughts on Flash
Try troubleshooting...
Quit Safari.
Open System Preferences > Flash Player then select the Storage tab. Click: Delete All
Now uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Launch Safari From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Empty ri.
Cache
Now try a video.
BTW... if you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safa
