SOA and B2B Domains

Anuj,
You told me before in an other thread that i'm able to logically saparate B2B from SOA creating two domains in same installation.
1 - Hosting B2B
2 - Hosting OSB + SOA Suite
So in this scenario I must have 2 Admin Servers one for each domain, isn't it ? Is possible to have just one Admin Server Admin managin both domains in order to have a central point of managment?! If it is possible to have just one Admin Server and as we have 2 domains. How will it know where to migrate to in case of failure !? If the Admin Server migrates to a machine in other domain, isn't it generate problems in the second domain? How will one domain knows about admin server in this case if it was migrated to a machine out of the its own scope ? I was thinking about it and I end up with these questions.
Did you get what I mean?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Philip

Philip,
There is a one-to-one relationship between admin server and domain. So one domian can have only one admin server and one admin server can belong to only one domian. So answer of your question is that there will be one admin server for each domain, you create.

  • Installing Oracle BPM suite, when SOA and BAM domain are already installed

    Hi Gurus
I have installed already Oracle SOA domain now I have to install Oracle BPM suite, How to install it with no effect on already installaton.
    Please guide,
    Aamir

    Hi Aamir,
Shutdown the database all the servers. Start the configuration wizard again(SOAORACLE_HOME/common/bin/config.sh) and select BPM and finish it. (SOA and BPM share the same schemas)
Start the servers. Now you can see that BPM is configured with your soa server.
To check whether everything is fine, login to AdminConsole , goto Deployments and check whether oracle.bpm.runtime(11.1.1,11.1.1) is shown as "Active"

    Hi Saravana,
Is there any way i can archive the EDI file while using AS2? My requirement to get the data from EDI file and based on that, it needs to send the Audit Trail Report to Business. No, AS2 does not have any archiving option but you may query details of transactions using B2B Instance Message API -
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/apirefs.1111/e18158/toc.htm
getWirePayload() method of InstanceMessage class with give you the native EDI file which has been sent to the partner.
Also do we have any document for enalbing AS1 and AS2 in B2B (Which includes SSL Certificaties, encryption etc)? You may refer B2B user guide to understand how to create AS1 and AS2 channels - (section 5.5 Configuring Channels)

  • Regarding A2A And B2B Integrations in SAP XI

    Hi Experts,
I want to Know the Difference Between the A2A And B2B Integrations in XI.
Any one Can Please Explain me In General Words Using One Real Time Scenario.
    Helpful ANS Will be Rewarded.
    Regards
    Khanna

    Hi Rajesh ,
Today's business world is infinitely more complex than it was a long time ago.
Modern companies have a large number of applications that take care of
running the business. Such diverse applications weren't a problem initially
because they were meant to provide stand-alone, independent, and
automated functions. The result of this diversity was a collection of stovepipe
applications rather than a unified network of linked systems. But now, the
companies are realizing the utmost need to integrate these independent data
silos to leverage the information stored in them across the various vertical
and horizontal domains as well as surmount the ever-increasing costs of
    building new applications.
And this is where an A2A Integration solution comes into the picture.
    1>A2A Integration
A2A Integration is a collection of processes, software and hardware tools,
methodologies, and technologies. When implemented together, they have the
aim of consolidating, connecting, and organizing all the businesses computer
applications, data, and business processes (both legacy and new) into a
seamlessly interfaced framework of system components that allow real-time
exchange, management, and easy reformulation of the company's missioncritical
    information and knowledge.
    2> B2B Integration
B2B Integration is fundamentally about coordinating information among
    businesses and their information systems.
In today's world with companies operating in a global business environment,
B2B Integration is a pre-requisite for them to remain competitive. They need
to come out of their shell and interact with their suppliers, partners, and
customers distributed throughout the world. B2B Integration enables a
company to focus on its core competencies and offload other services to
partners to gain efficiency and reduce cost.

    Hi there
I have a Technote that shows how the information can be published from EBS to BAM. In addition you could create an end to end visibility across the products e.g. B2B - BPEL - EBS - Financials etc by raising the events to BAM .
There is no out of the box dashboards available today. However, i have a number of customers who are doing this use case by themselves or through some SI/Oracle consulting.
can we contact you offline to discuss your requirement?
    http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/integration/bam/11g/technotes11g/whitepaperBAM_E-BusinessSuiteIntegration.pdf
There are certified adapters available for EBS to FM as well.

  • SOA and REST

    Hi
I start this thread to get an insight from the Architect community who is working on the Best-Built applications to know the direction related to adhering and adopting to SOA and REST based applications.
In this guidelines book, I see SOA as the framework to expose the business functionality as Enterprise Services, even it suggests that BAPIs and RFCs are to be encapsulated in webservices as far as possible. I like the guidelines to provide the application flexibility for the business logic so that I can use irrespective of the platforms, versions and so forth. Also it helps me in orchestrating these services in A2A, B2B and in the integration scenario where multiple systems and softwares are used.
Then came the new buzzword, I understand that many developers and Architects are considering REST as the go to Architecture for the future and SOA enterprise services may be outdated.
I do believe that REST and SOA webservices are different architectural styles, REST can be used more in sin point to point simple client server and point to point applications(synchronous) and mobile scenarios, so that the SOAP payload that exists in SOA can be avoided to improve the performance and data tranfer. But how much it can be used in the A2A, B2B integration scenarios where the critical business applicartions always rely on Asynchronous communication. SAP Bnaking and Utilities are heavily developed based on SOA based Enterprise Services. At the same time within SAP some people are still under the impression SOA is dead.
I am now confused, as an Architect I would like to follow these guidelines to suggest the customers and the developers I am working with that follow the guidelines. But, there is no mention about REST in this book except in one place. It would be nice to mention in this book about guidelines of using REST and SOA.
I am really interested in hearing from you all and the document owners as well.
    Regards,
    Suresh

    Hi Suresh,
you raise a very good question, which keeps the BBA team quite busy. I might not be able to give a perfect answer right now, but stay tuned for our next BBA updates. We are working on new SAP NetWeaver Gateway and a Mobile chapter. I foresee that those new chapters will also trigger some minor updates on language in the existing Process/SOA chapter.
For last weeks TechEd in Las Vegas we already published a preview of the Gateway and Mobile chapter in the pdf version of our book. My personal opinion is that SOA comes with different implementation flavors, which are optimized for different use cases. Web Services and REST are both just different means of Service Orientation. As you said, web services is a good choice for A2A, B2B integration. On the other hand other more light weight integration for mobile but also other very light weight applications are a better use case for REST.
We need to be thorough on releasing our official SAP Guidelines and need to ask for your patients. As said stay tuned for more updates on Gateway, Mobile and Process/SOA.
    Best, Joerg

  • SOA and OWSM in separate managed servers

Can someone please provide the pros and cons of separating SOA and OWSM into separate managed servers for a production environment. Also are there instances where customers are running OWSM in its own domain ?
    Thanks-

A separate managed server requires more memory.
We do not use separate server.
    EDG implements a separate server.
    Any other thaughts on this?

  • What is A2A and B2B?

    Hi Experts,
Please explain what is A2A and B2B senario?
    Regards,
    RajeshKumar

    HI
    A2A & B2B:
A2A is application to application. When two applications in a company communicates with each other we call it an A2A scenario and if its across Companies we call it B2B or buisness to buisness.
Consider an Car Manufacturing Company, it may use XI for integrating its ERP system with say an HR system and so on. As both systems are in the same landscape, it becomes an A2A.
Likewise, the Company might have transactions with say a Glass Manufacturing Unit or organization . When XI is used to Integrate these systems, it becomes a B2B as you use it to integrate 2 different Businesses in different landscapes.
B2B scenarios come in to picture when communication is between two Organizations or parties.
    A2A - application 2 application:
this is a integration like let's say, you have 2 systems in your company: ERP & accounting system. And you want to send data from ERP to acconting system. This happens inside your company, so it is sol called A2A.
    B2B - business 2 business
Let's say, there are 2 companies, and they have a different systems, which need to be integrated. For Ex: your client is using SAP R/3 and their customer is having some other technology. they want to integrate each Appications. this is B2B.
"B2B" is contemporary shorthand for a longtime sales practice called business-to-business. B2B transactions primarily target companies and other wholesale buyers, while transactions targeting individuals are called B2C, or business-to-customer. Many organizations have both B2B and B2C components, but it's not unusual for a company to specialize in B2B services or sales. In fact, the vast majority of products and services sold are considered to be B2B in nature.
One major reason for the popularity of B2B sales and services is sheer volume. An individual customer may visit a clothing manufacturer's website catalog and order two pairs of shoes or a sweater. The buyer for a national chain of clothing stores, however, may order 5,000 pairs of shoes and 2,000 sweaters. Without a B2B component, the manufacturer would have lost out on a very lucrative sale. This is why many companies provide B2B options alongside the B2C offerings at their websites and other outlets.
B2B sales are also generated by providing a specialized product line or service not available to the general public. This form of B2B transaction is very common in the manufacturing world. A company which produces shaving cream in cans, for example, may need a specific plastic nozzle. Several plastic injection molding companies would send sales representatives to pitch their particular designs. These nozzles would be useless for individual customers, but a manufacturer may order thousands of them.
With the growth in electronic communications, B2B has taken on even more importance. Instead of simply focusing on business-to-business sales, modern corporations are conducting other financial transactions online. B2B communications are now being used to promote investment, trade stocks and form financial alliances. Because the price of these transactions is far beyond the reach of most individuals, there is no equivalent business-to-customer option available. Some B2B transactions handled electronically can literally run into the billions of dollars.

    A2A:
If you do the Integration for Business Process in the same LAND SCAPE then it is called A2A .
    B2B:
If you do the Intergration for the BP out side the Customer LAND SCAPE then it is called a B2B

  • Same internal and external domain names - AGAIN!

    Hi all-
Like many of you, I am confronting the problem of having the same FQDN for both my Active Directory domain and Internet domain.  For the sake of discussion, let's call the domain rlh.com.
I need to access an externally-hosted website on the rlh.com domain.  The site is coded exclusively to use rlh.com and NOT
www.rlh.com.  Therefore, the old trick of adding a static www A record on my internal DNS server will not work.
It looks like another option is to install IIS on my DC and then configure some type of forwarding to the external site.  While this might work, frankly, I don't want IIS on my DC.  It's a DC, not a web server.
Yet a third option, correct me if I'm wrong, looks to be using some type of "split DNS."  Though I have not read the particulars (yet) of this solution, I am suspicious of it causing DNS inefficiencies.
All of these solutions look to me to be workarounds.  I am preparing to install a new DC (upgrading from 2003 to 2008 R2) and want to FIX the problem, not work around it.  That said, it looks like I have two options:
    1.  Rename my existing 2003 AD domain using rendom
    2.  Install the new 2008 R2 DC with the new domain name, setup domain trust between the old and new domains, and then use ADMT.
Can someone please comment on my logic here?  Does anyone have experience with both of the two options?  Is one less painful than the other?
As I preparatory step, I have migrated from my onsite Exchange 2003 server to Office 365.  Exchange is no longer present in my organization, though some slight "remnants" may remain in Active Directory.  Other than Exchange, I have a
Hyper-V host, 2 SQL Servers, and 3 RDS servers present in my environment.
    Thanks.

I realized this was answered, but I would like to add the following comprehensive blog on this subject.
Can't Access Website with Same Name (Split Zone or no Split Brain)

Note - In an AD same name as the external name (split zone) scenario, if you don't want to use WWW in front of URL, such as to access it by
http://domain.com, then scroll down to "So you don't want to use WWW in front of the domain name"

  • Cross-tenant email and split domains - how to set up?

I've successfully deployed exchange 2010 sp1 in /hosted mode with multi-tenancy and the install is working great. We are running into a problem configuring the send connectors
for inter domain email and split domains. We have several customers wanting to only put a couple of email accounts on the exchange server and have the rest of their email accounts resolve to a pop server at an external location. Currently I have a internal
send connector set to relay email between the domains on the server so they can send emails to one another. Directions for this were found at: http://www.zerohoursleep.com/2010/10/step-by-step-starting-with-exchange-2010-sp1-multi-tenant-sending-and-receiving-emails/
I created the connector: new-SendConnector -Name 'TestOrg' -Usage 'Internal' -AddressSpaces 'SMTP:domain1.com;1','SMTP:domain2.com;1' -IsScopedConnector $false -DNSRoutingEnabled $false -SmartHosts '[127.0.0.1]' -SmartHostAuthMechanism 'None' -UseExternalDNSServersEnabled
    $false -SourceTransportServers 'Exchange'
I added all my internal domains to the connector listed above and email is able to flow from one domain to another.
My problem is we have a number of customers who need split-domains set up where users who arent on the exchange server are relayed to an external server. Example to route unknown users on a domain to google my send connector looks as is:
New-SendConnector -Name "Internal Relay - domain1.com" -Custom -AddressSpaces "SMTP:domain1.com;5" -SmartHosts aspmx.l.google.com -SourceTransportServers "server"
This results in an internal loop error when sending from one internal domain to another. Sending from an external domain everything is fine. If I remove the "internal" connector listed above the split-domain send connector works perfectly fine delivering locally
    and to the external server.
How can I make it so both send connectors work?

    Hello,
did you solve the problem and how?

  • File Adapter Transactional in SOA and OSb

    Hi All,
Is file adapter transactional in SOA and OSB. I have a requirement where a inbound file adapter polls for a file and it is consumed by a topic. If topic is down, how can I know that the same file will goes to topic when is up(how can I make it transactional).I want to do this both in SOA ans OSB.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
File Adapter itself is NON TRANSACTIONAL...
    4.2.9 Nontransactional
The Oracle File Adapter picks up a file from an inbound directory, processes the file, and sends the processed file to an output directory. However, during this process if a failover occurs in the Oracle RAC back end or in an SOA managed server, then the file is processed twice because of the nontransactional nature of Oracle File Adapter. As a result, there can be duplicate files in the output directory.

  • Lync Implementation with different internal and external domain sync

    Hello Experts,
Having Windows 2012r2 with Lync 2013 frontend and Edge 2012 server on Win2012. Internal domain name is test.local and Internet domain name is : tgroup.com. Internally all the clients are able to sync with frontend
server using [email protected] or [email protected] Internal CA and External Digicert works fine. But only problem is with external clients who want to communicate through edge server.
Edge server has 3 LAN ip address (nat with public IP), 10.10.10.2, 10.10.10.3, 10.10.10.4 and another Internal network interface which has ip 10.10.20.3
which uses that to communicate with front-end.
How to achieve this ?  We dont have reverse proxy configured and we have only two servers.

The reverse proxy is used to publish URL's like the meet and dialin url, the address book url and the lync mobile client (smart phones and tablets) urls. This doesn't impact the external desktop user access as thats via the edge server. There is more to
it than that but for the sake of keeping this simple lets stick to that for now.
As far as SIP domains go. Think of your Lync users as having a SIP address similar to email addresses. You wouldn't have a user with an internal email address but with a different external email address. In fact best practice is to have the Lync SIP address
    match the email address.
My reccomendation is to use the ttgoup.com as a sip domain and not the test.local
