SOA and OSB servers in Admin State

I created two soa servers in a cluster and two osb servers in another cluster. When I start my servers they go to admin mode and I can't get them to go to starting mode. From what I read, certain libraries and applications need to be deployed to the servers. I did that while creating the servers and clusters. What might have been wrong?
Thank you

Hi,
When you created your clusters, have you followed the Enterprise Deployment Guide?
http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/core.1111/e12036/overview.htm#CJABGFEA
You will have to check the servers log files to see why they are sitting in admin mode, be aware that they will take a while to start on the first time, from the second onwards time they tend to be faster.
Go to your %DOMAIN_HOME%/server/<your-server>/logs and look for <your-server>.log and see if there is some error messages there. Post the messages here and I can help you out.
Cheers,
Vlad

  • File Adapter Transactional in SOA and OSb

    Hi All,
Is file adapter transactional in SOA and OSB. I have a requirement where a inbound file adapter polls for a file and it is consumed by a topic. If topic is down, how can I know that the same file will goes to topic when is up(how can I make it transactional).I want to do this both in SOA ans OSB.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Kumar.

    Hi Kumar,
File Adapter itself is NON TRANSACTIONAL...
    4.2.9 Nontransactional
The Oracle File Adapter picks up a file from an inbound directory, processes the file, and sends the processed file to an output directory. However, during this process if a failover occurs in the Oracle RAC back end or in an SOA managed server, then the file is processed twice because of the nontransactional nature of Oracle File Adapter. As a result, there can be duplicate files in the output directory.

  • Dynamic endpoints in SOA and OSB 11g

    Hi,
In AIA we have aiaconfiguration properties.xml from where end points of wsdls will be accessible.
This enables ease in migrations so that if endpoint changes it is only need to be changed in aiaconfiguration properties.xml.
Can the same be acheived in SOA and OSB 11g projects?
    Thanks,
    Sowmya

    Hi Sowmya,
Yes, it is very much possible in OSB 11g using customization (you may use it manually or programmitically). Please refer -

  • WebLogic Server Administration Console shows EPM servers in ADMIN State

    Hello everyone,
We have a distibuted environment for Oracle EPM:
Server 1 - Foundation Services, Essbase
Server 2 - Reporting and Analysis Framework
We are trying to replicate one of our customer's environment and as part of that we have done multiple installation-configurations and un-installations on this environment. After completing one of the latest configurations we see that all of the managed servers are in ADMIN state.  I have tried restarting the services but with no luck.
All the previous installations and configurations worked fine without any issues.
Any advice from the members is highly appreciated.
    Regards,
    Warren

    Thank you Celvin and Rahul.
Both your posts were helpful in resolving the issue. After going through the logs we realized that there was some conflict with data sources. After setting the data sources right from the WebLogic admin console and restarting the services the managed servers are now starting in the RUNNING mode.
    Thank you once again.

  • Few composite files are not up even sao and osb servers are restarted.

    Hi All,
I have situation where my soa compsite9s) are not restarting even I have restarted my soa & osb server(s).
My implementation is I have composite(s) which refering to OSB services. sometimes OSB services are down and my composites are strucking.Even is we restart soa server they are no up. I have to down every thing and start OSB first and soa later then only the composite(s) wokring fine.
But I dont want to do this every time. Is there any alternative to this.

    Can any one provide suggestions.
In some of the blogs they are refering to MDS. what is this?
    -Ramakrishna Gilla

MDS is a database repository where you can store WSDLs and schemas and refer to them from MDS instead of actual end system during design and deploy time.
If you want your composites to come up even when OSB is down, then make sure that you have the copy of OSB service WSDLs and Schemas in your composite or in MDS. The only place where your composite should point to OSB server is in the location attribute in reference binding.ws in composite.xml
Everywhere else it should refer to the local copy of WSDL or the MDS copy of WSDL.

  • MTOM attachment configuration in SOA and OSB

    Hi All,
We have a requirement to send Email to two SMTP gateways through OSB 11g, but due to constraint that we can not apply OWSM policies on MTOM enabled OSB service in OSB 11g, we are working on approach of routing request from SOA 11g to OSB so that policies can be applied on SOA service and actual Email Notifications will be sent by OSB.
But SOA is sending MTOM attachments as encoded value but OSB is configured to receive MTOM attachments as reference. OSB can also be configured to take MTOM attachment as value but we also need to set 'xop:include'.
Any pointers on setting OSB 'xop-include' or making configuration in SOA to send attachments as reference will be of great help.

  • Manged servers started in ADMIN state instead of RUNNING

    HI All,
Recently i installed SOA 12C (12.1.3.0.0) with cluster for SOA and OSB. But when i start managed servers it shows in ADMIN state instead of RUNNING. Any specific reason? Also in Fusion EM console except Admin all servers are down.
    Thanks,
    Jagdish

    Hi Jagadish ,
This may happen if the domain credential is changed using the Admin Console and then the Admin Server is restarted without shutting down the Managed Server. Because the Managed Server has not restarted, it still has the old copy of the domain credential cached in memory, which does not match the new credential used in the Admin Server.
    1. Shut down managed server(s) and the Admin Server in sequence. After all managed servers and the admin server are shut down, backup and remove the directory data , cache , tmp under the path $DOMAIN_HOME\servers\<managed_server>\ .
    2. And then start the Admin Server, then bring up the managed server(s).
Also would be great, if you post the log file contents which Borys's requested in last post !
    Thanks

  • SOA 11 G and OSB under single WLS and domain

    Hi,
I have OSB(10.3.1)(file:osb1031_wls103_win32.exe) installed on local machine on some domain say "osb_domain".
I also want to install the SOA_Suite_11.1.1.2.0 on the same machine under the same domain.
is this right way of doing it?
    OR
Do we need a seperate domain for both SOA and OSB?
If yes, then I dont understand why cant we leverage the WL server infrastructure to manage the OSB and SOA, since both runs on WLS.
    thanks
    Sanjeeva

    thanks Adam,
What if I want to install both on same machine with different domains?
    Say
    Soa - soa_domain
    osb - osb_domain
    can this be done?
SOA has three servers running (admin server, soa_server1, bam_server1 on ports 7001,8001,9001 respectively) and listening to port 5556 (default port)
if I install OSB also on the same machine with different domain on port say for ex 1001, do I need to change the listening port to different port ?
    thanks

  • Automating start / restart of WebLogic Admin and managed servers on MS Windows

    Hi All,
Please help me to do the automation of start and stop scrip of Oracle Weblogic 10.3.6 and Forms and Reports 11.1.2.2.0(Managed Servers) On Windows server 2008.
Here are two options for automating start / stop of WebLogic Admin and managed servers on MS Windows. Please suggesst which one is standrad procedure.
Use NodeManager (installed as a MS Windows Service)
    or
Create Windows Service(s) for the server(s) - no NodeManager
    Following Document : 1060058.1
Please suggest me the best practice. Many thanks in advance.
    Kind Regards,
    Mohan

    Hi Borys,
    Thank you for quick reply...
If we use the first option "Create Windows Service(s) for the server(s) - no NodeManager" then we will be facing issue Like "Admin Server or Managed Server may go into an unhealthy or failed state but the JVM is still running"
In the document : 1060058.1 : Mentioned as Important Note: The second option has a limitations.
Limitaion is below when we use first option : "Create Windows Service(s) for the server(s) - no NodeManager" -
Windows Services Manager only monitors the JVM process. If the JVM process fails (shuts down), then Windows Services Manager will attempt to restart it. But there are some scenarios where the Admin Server or Managed Server may go into an unhealthy or failed state but the JVM is still running. The Windows Service will not know to restart the process in these cases. If a server is started using NodeManager, NodeManager would recognize such a state and restart the process accordingly. Furthermore, if you start up managed servers via a MS Windows Service, you cannot monitor and/ or stop the managed server via the Weblogic Admin Console and/or Fusion Middleware ( Enterprise Manager ) Control.
I have implemented the second option "Use NodeManager starting admin and manged servers via WLST script" - Python script. Its working well without issue...No Limitation...
    Script Contains Below :
print "================== Start scripts of Managed servers and Admin server ======================"
    nmConnect(userConfigFile='D:/myFiles/myuserconfigfile.secure',userKeyFile='D:/myFiles/myuserkeyfile.secure',host='00.0.00.00',port='5556',domainName='ClassicDomain',domainDir='D:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\ClassicDomain',nmType='ssl')
    print "================== Adminserver Starting ================================================"
    nmStart('AdminServer')
    connect('weblogic','Password1','10.4.93.117:7001')
print "================== MANAGED SERVER (FROMS) Starting ====================================="
    start('WLS_FORMS','Server')
print "================== MANAGED SERVER (REPORTS) Starting ==================================="
    start('WLS_REPORTS','Server')
    exit()
HOPE WE WILL MEET AGAIN AND AGAIN...
    Many thanks for your comments!

  • Alert setup for Admin and Manage servers in weblogic

    Hi All,
We need to setup e-mail notification for health status of admin and managed servers on fusion middleware 11g. Kindly advise.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

    Hi there Vijay,
you can easily do this using the WebLogic Diagnostic Framework. If your WebLogic installation hosts products from the Fusion Middleware portfolio, e.g. Oracle SOA Suite, Oracle WebCenter, etc., you will have a preconfigured WLDF module targeted to all servers named Module-FMWDFW.
In general you will have to:
    1. Configure mail session and target it to all servers. Details on the mail server are provided as properties. Use the following as a starting point:
    mail.host=<your_outgoing_mail_server_host>
    mail.user=<your_outgoing_mail_server_user>
    mail.transport.protocol=smtp
    mail.from=<address_to_send_emails_from>
    mail.debug=True
    2. Configure WebLogic Diagnostic Framework Module or reconfigure the Module-FMWDFW if exists
    3. Configure Watches and Notifications for that module and the data/events you are interested in. By default the Module-FMWDFW is configured to generate ADR incidents in certain occasions (you can examine the configuration of Module-FMWDFW).

  • Admin and Task servers as one in the same

I open up the Remote Desktop software, and select 1 computer from the list. I then click on the "Install" icon and drag a .pkg file inside of the "Packages" area. I check off the radio button that says "Run this task from: The Task Server on this computer" and click the "Install" button.
I get a progress bar that runs infinitley and a message that says "The targetd computer, "<computer name>", is currently idle. It doesn't matter if the computer is up and running, or if it is offline. It says the same thing regardless and never installs the package.
If I decide not to "Run this task from: The Task Server on this computer" and instead "Run this task from: This application" then it works prefectly. I just can't seem to install from the local task server, which means I have to wait until this machine is online before I can manually run it, which means there's a problem with the way I set up the Task server.
Does anyone have any idea what's wrong with my installation? I have gone into "Remote Desktop -> Preferences -> Task Server" and made sure "Use Task Server on this computer" was selected, and it is. I am NOT using 2 different serial number for 2 different and separate copies of ARD3 for both an Admin + Task Server. I am, however, expecting the Task Server and Admin Server to run as one in the same. If this is not possible then perhaps the Documentation needs updating? From http://images.apple.com/server/docs/ARDTaskServer.pdf I read: "You can run the Task Server on either the administrator computer or a dedicated remote computer. The default Task Server is the administrator computer on which you installed Remote Desktop.". This means the Admin and Task Servers can run as one in the same, no? Please let me know if this is incorrect.

Update: Please refer to the post with the title of "Possible to run both an Admin Server and Task server from the same host?". Basically the answer to this problem is that there isn't one. I've called apple support and it's been confirmed that an Admin server and Task server CANNOT be run from the same installation on the same host. I suppose you could say the answer is to buy another license of ARD3 and run it in a separate host, but for some of us this isn't an option - especially for a very small startup.

  • SOA suit 11g uses both ESB and OSB(ALSB)

Hi, I am newbie to SOA suit 11g. Can somebody please explain the use of ESB and OSB(ALSB) both in SOA 11g.In SOA 11g ESB is being used only for mediation.Even OSB(ALSB) has same capability. Then why both needs to be used? Can't we use one of these?
    ~Pradeep

    hello Pradeep,
there is quite some literature on this hot topic - actually it's one of the most frequently asked question from people who are using OSB and Soa Suite.
if you google "OSB vs Mediator" you will find some useful links:

  • Command for STOPPING  admin and managed servers

I am writing a script for our application, which apart from building and
deploying application, also needs to stop and start both admin and managed

servers? ( something that "initiates the shutdown")

Scott, could you try specifying the protocol: t3 in the url of the
    servers.
eg) java weblogic.Admin -url t3://172.17.13.46:7013 -username system
    -password
    xxx SHUTDOWN
