SOA - ASG down

Hi Friends,
I have installed SOA -Suite on my Windows XP. When
I started the SOA-Suite, I observed that the ASG component status is "down"
How do I start it up? Or Is it needed anyway?
Thanks a lot

not needed unless you are in a Disaster Recovery Environment with advanced capabilities

    Hi Roshni,
For most MW targets including the WebLogic Server target, you can set the thresholds by going to the target drop-down (right above the main pane, you will see a "WebLogic Server" menu) and you can the navigate to "Monitoring" from the base menu items. From there, you will see "Metric and Collection Settings" which will take you to where you can set thresholds for the target.
You then can set notifications via your chosen mechanism. For more details, we have in-product documentation. The easiest way to find out more about thresholds, incidents, notifications, and other key features related to basic monitoring and alerting like metric templates, you can navigate to "Incident Management" off the "Enterprise" top-level menu item. There you will see incidents (i.e. metric alerts, policy violations) as well as a Getting Started guide at the bottom where you can learn more about these topics. You can also use the "Help" menu of course and look through the broader set of documentation that we offer both in the product and on OTN.
    Cheers,
    Glen

  • SOA server down

    Hi,
I have started Weblogic admin server and Soa_server1 also both in the console http://localhost:7001/console shwoing running and active. But when I log on to http://localhost:7001/em Soa_server1 is showing as down but if I check the details it's showing there as running. I am confused. Please let me know details on this.

Are you able to login to below URL in your browser-
    http://localhost:<soa_server_port>/soa-infra
If not, then SOA-INFRA is down. Check the SOA server startup log to figure out any errors which shows that SOA-INFRA could not be deployed.

  • SOA EM down after password change - OracleSystemUser is not a valid user principal in the current security realm

    Hello,
I've got a SOA Suite development environment set up and whilst trying to change the weblogic password using this tutorial a problem arose with my soa managed server.
Firstly I was unable to start the Managed SOA server due to mismatching passwords, and after I modified the boot.properties file, now I cant start the usermessagingserver and soa_infra applications due to the following error:
    Error 1

I've checked both weblogic and OracleSystemUser users and their groups are (respectfully) Administrators and OracleSystemGroup.
I've searched for an answer to this problem and found this other support article but couldn't resolve the issue.
The weblogic server version is 10.3.2.0 and it's running on RedHat Linux.

    @Sri_Sonti
In the Admin Console, I can see both users in the security realm with the following configs:
    weblogic:
all atributes with the "value" column blank
    groups: Administrators
    OracleSystemUser
all atributes with the "value" column blank
    groups: OracleSystemGroup
Also I have not found the system-jazn-data.xml file you mentioned. In that folder there's only a readme.txt file.

  • Issue with default install of SOA suite under Windows

    Hello,
I installed SOA Suite without error, using the defaults of the Basic Installation.
When I start the SOA Suite, it starts up without error, but reports that ASG is Status=Down
When I try to create an Integration Server in JDeveloper, and test it, everything works, with the exception of the ESB Server:Fail, which in the details is listed as:
    ESB Connection, Not Run
Can anyone explain these behaviors (ASG Status=Down and ESB Connection = Not Run)? Are these normal based on not installing products from the Advanced options? I'm in the process of an evaluation and I don't want to go too far down a path if my system is already somewhat broken.
    Thanks.
    --T
    Thank you very much.

The ASG down is normal - it is not causing the other issue you have.
The JDev integration server connection error (ESB not run) is unfamiliar to me. Make sure you have created the Application Server connection properly (choose standalone). The Test Connection button for the Integration Server connection shows you status for the Application Server, the BPEL Server, and the ESB Server - what does it say for each of these?
    Heidi.

  • OIM and corporate SOA server

Our lead architect would like for OIM to use our corporate SOA cluster instead of the server that is installed with OIM 11g. I don't remember much about the OIM install to know if this is even an option.
Anyway, what do you guys think? Good idea or not?

We have a small UI which is a cut-down version of the OIM UI (change password, reset password) that we can expose to the Internet. This uses the OIM Java API. I doubt we would use any SPML. That's the only piece of code that's running outside of OIM. The SOA server would be used just for approval workflows.
I think my architect is just trying to get all of the SOA stuff in one place, having it clustered and fault tolerant (not that OIM won't be). I just don't get the advantage of that over issues like potentially having to patch/upgrade OIM and this SOA server at the same time and the fact that if the OIM SOA is down it's likely that OIM is down also whereas that's not the case with a separate SOA server. Not sure what havoc that will cause.
I was hoping that someone would come back and say it cannot be done! So, if it can be done then has anyone done this, why, and how is it working out?

  • Web sevice data control deploy error.

We developed an ADF application. We deploy this application to SOA 10.1.3.3 it works correctly. After that we add this project a web sevice data control pointing a BPEL process (initiate method).
it works from Jdev 10.1.3.3. no problem.
But when we deploy this application to app server . deploy works ok. but when we want to connect application
"page not displayed error" occurs. no more information.
it seem to us a connection error occurs to BPEL process web services.
is there anyone face this problem? How can we solve?
We want out ADF application works even SOA application down.
How can we make ADF and BPEL applications like loose couple (can we add try catch block to provent general failure. Where we can add?)
    Thanks.

when u deploy manually it goes under some other url than you specified, try to test webservice under the app server console and then webservice tab. this is how u get the actual URL to request webservice u deployed manually.other solution is to redeploy manually through app server console the webservice that you've deployed through jdeveloper.

  • Opmnctl shows Alive but I could not access either BPELConsole/EM control

    Hi,
We have oc4j 10.1.3.3 with BPEL installed.
I have chnaged JDBS resources using em control and restarted default application from UI and I waited for couple of hours to complete, but it never completed.
Then I stopped and started oc4j using opmnctl
    status shows
    ASG Down
    OC4JGroup_Default- Alive
When I access BPELConsole or em control, I see page cant be dispalyed on browser
and I see stopping was happening in less than 5 secs and starting happening in 1 min
but previously it used to take few minutes to start
any idea on how to recover ?
    Thanks,

  • Soa11g  - missing middle tier ?

    hello ...
first sorry my chaotic question, but im total beginer.
I've got installed working SOA11g environment . everything was started from admin console and works fine (developers confirm). But after computer restart is something wrong. all aplications are down. Server Error 404--Not Found . SOA is started as usualy by link Start AdminServer for weblogic domain from windows start menu and then starting servers BAM and SOA from adminConsole.
In AdminConsole - domain - servers is running AdminServer, Bam-server1, Soa_server1 all in running state.
in EM11g http://server:7001/em everythign except adminserver is unavailable. Status of BAM and SOA is down (red arrow). I can start, stop server from EM and in server summary screen state Running and Health OK. everything else is unavailable.
all deployed applications are down and their status is unvailable.
comparing with another server with same SOA11g installation there is another server in list - servername_server. I think it weblogic middle tier. This instance is not present on problem server.
I cant find what hapens and how to solve my problem.
Can you please give my some hints for this ?
    Thanks for any hint.

try to restart your admin server, it looks like you have deployed your applications to admin server, this will resolve the issue. If the admin is not coming up check on the .DAT files in the domain_home/servers/AdminSevers/data/default & diagnostic folders and remove them and restart it. Check if there are any other admin process ( zombie ) running and kill them and restart the admin.

  • Receiving email messages using UMS: messages dropped?

This is the situation: I've setup User Messaging Service (UMS) on SOA Suite 11g (11.1.1.5.0) to receive messages on a certain email account. I've then implemented a small HttpServlet that uses the UMS API (based on the usermessagingsample-echo sample provided by Oracle) that registers itself with UMS as a listener for that email address upon server startup, and deployed that to WebLogic (10.3.5).
    Now consider the following scenario:
    1. Bring down the soa server
    2. Send an email to the email address
    3. Start up the soa server
    4. The email that was sent during the soa server down time is never delivered to the listening HttpServlet.
    5. After the soa server has started up completeley, send a second email to the email address
    6. The second email is delivered to the listening HttpServlet
The problem here is number 4 in the list (obviously).
Here is the configuration of UMS: http://i.imgur.com/vNwkLFZ.png (incoming mail server and port are empty in the screenshot, but they are correctly set, I made an error creating the screenshot)
And the stdout logfile of the soa server: http://pastebin.com/TsDqftXD
    A few things to note:
    1. Notice that very early on in the soa server startup process (starting at line 60 of soa server logfile) the email address is already checked by UMS, the email popped, and deleted. Before any listening app has had the chance to register itself as a listener (like my HttpServlet test app).
    2. Notice that the second email is delivered correctly (starting at line 290 of soa server logfile, the listening HttpServlet responds at line 326)
    3. I seem unable to successfully register a listener before the UMS initialization (using deployment order etc.)
    4. Calling the synchronous receive() method of the MessagingClient also doesn't seem to retrieve the missed message
What am I missing here? How can I make sure that my app will receive *all* messages sent to an email address, also the ones that are sent during downtime?

Hotmail is a web based email service and you will need to use the Blazer browser to access the msn home page and then get to your email. You cannot setup a hotmail email account on the device using the email app. You need a POP or IMAP account in order to setup an email account on the Treo, these are usually a fee for service account.

  • OIM Architect

I'm looking to Hire an OIM Architect Consultant to work a long-term position in Dallas, TX. If anyone is interested please feel free to contact me at your convenience.

    Hi,
We are facing one specific issue in SOA 11g environment .
SOA managed server is hosted on WebLogic Server Version: 10.3.4.0.
Server is keep on going down even after restart, after each restart it iwll come up for 15-20 minutes max and then again soa managed serve will go down.
Also in nohup logs we observed below warning :
    oracle.adf.share.ADFContext> <BEA-000000>
    +<Automatically initializing a DefaultContext for getCurrent.+
Caller should ensure that a DefaultContext is proper for this use.
Memory leaks and/or unexpected behaviour may occur if the automatic initialization is
    performed improperly.
This message may be avoided by performing initADFContext before using getCurrent().
To see the stack trace for thread that is initializing this, set the logging level of
