Healthcare Integration is part of Oracle SOA Suite so you need to install Oracle SOA Suite to use it. Make sure to use latest version of SOA Suite which is PS5 (11.1.1.6.0)

Using SOA for CRM --- ECC communication

Hi,
We have the following standard CRM ECC update scenarios
Condition Updates
Master data sync up etc.
We have ECC 6.0 and CRM 7.0.
We are trying to evaluate a scnario in which we can replace the CRM middleware by SOA services provided by SAP.
Are there any pointers to do the same.
Any help would be appreciated.

Installing from a CD or from a download? It may be corrupt.
I suggest you compare the checksum of the downloaded file with the checksum as listed on the download page.
The installer is supposed to use its own JRE, so it should not use your installed one.

Server 2012 R2 - The system failed to register host (A or AAAA) resource records (RRs) for network adapter

We seem to be having an issue recently after introducing new Windows Server 2012 R2 servers where they fail to register DNS correctly. The Windows Firewall is off and the servers are on the same VLAN with no firewalls between them.
When I do an ipconfig /registerdns or wait 24 hours for the system to try we get the following error:

The reason the system could not register these RRs was because the DNS server contacted refused the update request. The reasons for this might be (a) you are not allowed to update the specified DNS domain name, or (b) because the DNS server authoritative
for this name does not support the DNS dynamic update protocol.
To register the DNS host (A or AAAA) resource records using the specific DNS domain name and IP addresses for this adapter, contact your DNS server or network systems administrator.
On our DNS server we have set for the internal.local zone Secure Updates only so that looks good because it is Active Directory that should be handling this authentication to update the record I assume. Just to mention that when also doing an ipconfig /regsiterdns
the update fails within a few seconds.

This issue is only affecting Windows Server 2012 R2 clients and testing with Windows Server 2008 R2 clients works no issues. So is this a mis-configuration or a bug with Windows 2012 R2? I have checked all DNS settings on client / server which all look good
to me so reaching out now to see if anyone has any ideas?

Standard Business Event issue in SOA.

I created a subscription in SOA for the standard business event (*oracle.apps.jtf.cac.task.updateTask*) using Oracle Apps Adapter. When the event is fired in the Oracle EBusiness Suite, I am expecting SOA to capture the payload and create an instance. The instances are not created.
This is the workaround I did to check if the events are firing or not.
1. Whenever a standard business event is fired, we can see a record in WF_DEFERRED queue. In this case too, I am able to see the record.
2. From WF_DEFERRED, the data should flow into WF_BPEL_Q. I am unable to see a record in this table in my case.
Which mean the events are firing but SOA is unable to capture the events. I tried to raise a JAVA event in the Oracle EBusiness Suite's workflow manager and SOA was able to capture the payload and an instance was created in weblogic EM. But when I update the task in the Oracle EBS, SOA is not able to capture the payload.
Any inputs to fix this issue is greatly appreciated. Please help.

Error while installing Healthcare Library of SOA 11.1.1.7

I have tried to install Healthcare library of SOA 11.1.1.7(PS6). For installation i have followed the following link given posted by you.

I am unable to install Healthcare library for SOA 11.1.1.7(PS6). I am getting xengineWinstdlibrary BUILDFAILED while executing 3rd step.
Third step is:

Configure OSB 11g to use the same domain as SOA Suite 11g

A quick question on OSB Installation and extend the weblogic domain created for soa for OSB also. Please guide me what i am following is the correct path.
I followed the soa 11g and osb 11g installation doc from Eric Elzinga blog also checked oracle doc. Am quite confused about the directory structure to cofigure SOA Suite 11g and OSB 11g.
After SOA suite install , I Configure Oracle SOA Suite by following the below path
Run: middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe (followed the blog ON OSB 11g Installation from Eric Elzinga).
I have seen another path to configure soa suite from oracle doc
SOA_ORACLE_HOME\common\bin\config.cmd
eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\Oracle_SOA1\common\bin\config.cmd
both directory str are correct?
After OSB installation , to configure OSB , I choose to reuse the SOA Suite domain to extend it with the Oracle Service Bus components. so in that case , is it the right directory structure I am following is
<Middleware_Home>\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat.
eg: E:\oraclehome\11g\middleware\oracle_common\common\bin\config.bat

Eventually you configure the weblogic domain always (either it is for SOA or OSB or BPM or all), so you should use middleware/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/config.exe

SOA/ESA strategy: which benefits inside company

Which benefits bring SOA for company?
If I want to expose some logic (HR module, Finance) I could get all I need (loose coupling, abstraction, transformation, routing, business process automation, long running process) with ESB facility of SAP XI and Adapter Engine or RFC,IDOC and so on.
Why we do need SOA?
I can find only one benefit - in case I want to give an access for business partners, vendors, customers and so on...
What do you think Do we need SOA inside company?

Frankly the need for an SOA would depend on
- how disparate the landscape of your org is
- what kind of ROI you are looking @ wrt return on a SOA implementation
- and the big word offcourse of interoperability based on Standards-which is why webservices are in the picture
Ultimately if u feel that your company is never going to grow Organically/Inorganically and that even if you buy say a competitor but probably never end up owning their HR/Financial systems..U r right SOA doesn't make sense..

Hi,
Wondering! What would the percentage of implementations SAP XI vs Oracle BPEL/ESB/SOA for next couple of years. I just wanna explore and know more about them.. How's Oracle SOA/BPEL/ESB doing in terms of new customers/implementations and what are all market trends and future jobs.. Also throw the light on SAP XI side... Is it wise to choose Oracle BPEL/ESB/SOA to get better jobs? Every one talking about SAP XI etc... How about Oracle Fusion?
I appreciate your opinions/facts/guess or whatever.

Giri,
SAP XI is something centered around SAP implementations and I am not very much sure of its architecture.
On the other hand when it comes to BPEL, SOA, ESB, they are all industry wide standard and Oracle is just one of the vendors providing tools to implement the solutions based on these industry standards.

i m not sure about the Oracle products but as far as SAP XI is concerned, its picking up in US.SAP is now recommending to use XI for all the integration instead of Point to point integration as was done earlier.more and more SAP customers are adopting XI and as the market for SAP grows , XI is bound to grow.

MISSING: Tools- Configure SOA menu item in SOA Suite 11g TP4

I have installed 11g TP4 Jdev and followed the install guide.
I didnt find the menu item 'Tools > Configure SOA...' itself... :((
May i know what i might hv missed ???

On the information page for SOA Tech Preview 4, there is a step called, Enable. You need to go to metalink to read the instructions there on how to enable SOA for TP4. Then the Configure SOA command will show up in the Tools menu.
