  • Distribution channel for manufacturing industries

    Hi.
For manufacturing industries of consumer products what is best channel distribution choice in SAP, taking into account that the customers in SAP aren´t the consumers?
    A.
    10 Wholesalers
    20 Distributors
    30 Supermarkets
    or
    B
    10 Wholesale
    20 Retail
If the answer is A,.... Why SAP give us the option of extend a customer to the another distribution channel ?
    Thank you.

As you would be aware the purpose of creating Distribution Channel is that through some channel you have to distribute the material to customer and we call this channel in many ways like, wholesale, retail, export etc.,
As long as the sales area (combination of sales organisation, distribution channel and division) is clear in SD side, all sales reports can be differentiated easily and from end user point of view, this will be much useful.
In some cases, you need to go in for a common distribution channel due to the fact that instead of having lot of distribution channels, you can simplify the configuration part by having a common channel.
The decision to go different distribution channel or common distribution channel needs to be analysed on case to case basis and of course with clients' concurrence.
    thanks

  • Manufacturing industrie-process(buses)

    sap experts good evening:-
Sirs, My project is the related to the Manufacturing, industrie BUSES , Under this one what we can say as the BUSINESS PROCESS,(how to the intial stage comes to work in, and how to the finished  completed structure) please what have ur valuble suggestion..... help

    Hi,
    PP point of view:
For this type of products you can use repetitive manufacturing.
1.For this the prerequisite is to use a production version in mrp 4 view of material master & REM profile should be given
    2.Rate routing should be used.
    3. During mrp planned orders are generated for the requirement given.
4.Using t.code MFBF, after production we can do GR & GI at the same time.
    Integration with FI/CO
    1. To create cost estimate using ck11n
    2. To release use ck24.
    3. To create a cost collector use kkf6n
    For order settlement use kk87.

  • Using Adobe Interactive Form in Retails, manufacturing industries??

    Hi,
I am a systems integrator solution provider and have a few customers from retails, manufacturing and supply chain industries.
They want to design label with barcodes (such as those SSCC label for shipping). Which SAP solution is the best and most standard?
I have a couple of options: SmartForms and SAPScript. But I also heard about Adobe Interactive Form. Which one is the most commonly used in the market right now? I don't think there are many users of Interactive Form in this scenario but I am not sure. Which barcode/termal printer supports Adobe Interactive Forms?
    Please give me your insight.
    Thank you
    Jessica Alba

    Hi Tanmay,
I had the same problem. Try this.
    In WebDynpro:
Copy the component and put on a new interface for this Component.
    In Transaction SFP:
As "Layout Type" you select "ZCI Layout".
Go to "Utilities" and insert Web Dynpro Script.
    Activate and test the Component.
If you insert the Web Dynpro Script later in a Form,
it does not function. You must again put on it.
    Anyhow my experience.

how is it different from normal sales process

    Hi

In addition to excise invoice u have to make ARE1 doc along with dlv.billing and excise inv.
U have to separate the excise invoice series and u have to keep different series group for export tax will not be applicable in case of export despatch. If u differentiate the domestic and export despatch it will be helpful in reports to you.
    Thx.

  • Best Practices on Mining Industries - CO-PC

    Hello,
I am looking for best practices on the mining industry for CO-PC. I am not very familiar with this industry and I don't know if a classic solution based on standard cost price control and material ledger is the most suitable for this business.
I am used to Material Ledger, but I think it does not make sense to implement that on Mining Industry that produces coal for example or extract only one type of product using as raw materials only diesel and explosives. Can anyone share  experiences in this segment?
    Rgds,
    Rafael

    Hi Rafael,
Controlling in Mining industry is often centered not so much about product costs but about assets, maintenance and utilization. Therefore controlling reports often show the costs e.g. by crusher compared to planned cost, and ABC (activity based costing) plays a larger role than in classical manufacturing industries.
But material ledger is still quite popular in mining companies. Even if you are a coal miner there are manufacturing steps like purification, crushing and homogenizing and activity consumption involved in the process steps. Furthermore also the distribution and transportation costs play a big role and can be controlled by material ledger actual costs.
Have a look at SAP's best practice for Mining that contains material ledger and ABC templates for asset costs:

  • How well  does SAP cope with a manufacturing environment ....?

    Hi all,
I wanted to check about how well SAP copes with a manufacturing environment where there are many parts for many product lines, with small production quantities being the norm. In this case, you would see many BOMs, High quantity of POs, Supplier invoices etc. This is in addition to the normal needs for Quality inspection forms, WIP movement and valuation. It's intended to utilise all the modules, ordering, inventory, quality, purchasing, MRP, sales order, invoicing, payments, AR/AP, HR, CRM.

    Hi Usha,
...you should have a look at the diffeent best practices offerings (aka. All-in-One). Theree are a lot of offerings there - pre-configured, ready to go - that apply to manufacturing industries like Chemical, Automotive, etc. Go to help.sap.com and you will find details abiout the content of the different best practice solutions.
    I hope this helpes.

Suppose, urs is a VOLVO Bus manufacturing Company, u got order from SAP AG for manufacture of 100 Buses for its employees. u enter it through VA01.
Now, u will have to find out the right vendor for raw material i.e, Tyres, Steel Sheets, Engine, etc., have to place order and procure it through ME21N, MIGO then MIRO. then building(assembling) happens, if still ur company is not into Painting or Interior Decoration then again it sould be handed over to other Painting Vendors for ur bus get painted. After every thing is done u take it into Inventry stock through MB1C. Then Creates a Outbond Delivery at VL01N, then Billing Doc at VF01,

    Hi Sripriya,
Manufacturing has been the foundation of SAP's customer base since the company's origin more than 30 years ago. Building on the capabilities of its enterprise software to improve business process efficiency and reduce costs, SAP is helping manufacturing companies to drive growth by enabling the next step in business process evolution: adaptive supply chain networks.
SAP sees adaptive supply chain networks as encompassing five key abilities that competitive businesses need to compete in today's marketplace:

    •     Respond – React rapidly and efficiently to demand and supply signals to internal and external deviations
    •     Learn – Continually evolve and incorporate knowledge into supply chain and manufacturing process
SAP solutions empower companies with these abilities, creating enhanced visibility into the extended supply chain and thereby enabling businesses to adapt processes and respond in real time to meet customer demands. SAP builds user-centric solutions that adaptive manufacturers run to intelligently monitor, manage and optimize supply chain and shop floor operations and to seamlessly integrate into demand chain processes.
