SOA Server 11g (Weblogic instance) stopping on its own on Windows 2003 OS

Hi,
I am running SOA Server 11g (Weblogic instance) on Windows 2003 OS. The machine has 4 GB RAM and 1.8 GH CPU. The SOA Server (Java process) and Weblogic Admin Servers are stopping on its own. There are lo errors in the server log files. Please suggest if you have faces similar issues. I have installes Oracle Weblogic 11g and SOA Suite 11g on this machine. The same software runs fine on Windows XP OS.
Thanks
Subho

Can you please provide more information:
1. Which version of Windows Server 2003? 32 bit or 64 bit version?
2. Which exact version of Weblogic and SOA Suite have you installed?
3. How long do the servers run before they shutdown(do they even start properly before going down)?
4. Make the stdout go to the server log and then see if you can find any errors.
To do that you need to go to following under domain structure tree:
Environment>Servers>{your admin server name} page
in Logging tab, advanced section, Put a checkmark against following:
Redirect stdout logging enabled
Redirect stderr logging enabled
Save and activate and then restart the server. This will log the JVM log information to the weblogic server log and hopefully you will be able to identify the issue.

  • Re: Smart Quotes crashes reports running on Reports Server 11g/Weblogic 10.

    Anyone experience smart quotes stored in oracle tables that causing report to crash. Is there a parameter option in Reports 11g/Weblogic or maybe a characterset change. We are looking at modifying the call package but would prefer a parameter change. Thanks.

    Ricardo,
    I've done a lot of VM installations of WebLogic 11g w/ Forms but never used these VM "templates" that you use. I've always installed weblogic and Forms on a freshly installed operating system (Solaris,OEL,Redhat,Windows,etc..).
    Please refer to forms installation documentation provided by Oracle: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E14571_01/install.1111/e10421/toc.htm
    Secondly, the statement "Oracle weblogic 10gR3" concerns me - what exact version of oracle weblogic server is installed?
    You need 11g Forms with 11g Oracle WebLogic Server. The versions are a little confusing but you need one of the following setups:
    1.) WebLogic Server 11g (v10.3.2) with Forms 11g (11.1.1.2)
    1.) WebLogic Server 11g (v10.3.3) with Forms 11g (11.1.1.3)
    2.) WebLogic Server 11g (v10.3.4) with Forms 11g (11.1.1.4) (Just recently released)
    Note: Forms 11.1.1.3 and Forms 11.1.1.4 are patchsets.
    Thirdly, for system specs. All minimum requirements are noted in the installation guide link i mentioned above. It depends on what environment this is and how many apps, users, etc. etc. However, for development environments i've done: usually 25GB+ HDD space, 4GB RAM, 1 CPU (1.5 Ghz+) has been sufficient.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Gavin

  • RSD...just stops on its own?

    So about a month ago the dreaded RSD started happening to my macbook. I tried several times to make appointments to see a "Genius" at my apple store, however unless I wanted 11am or 1130am on any day I tried...I couldnt get in, and forget any times on the weekends...so I gave up, hoping apple would somehow solve this and give us all the answer ( hoping it was software based), then they said to call applecare as their "answer"...I cant get along with out my macbook, as I use it for my photography business, so sending it in, not an option. Then I noticed something in the last 2 plus weeks...it hasnt happened...at all, and ive rebooted a couple times, though I think maybe only twice...and nothing, no more RSD in the last 2 weeks.
    Anyone else have this happen...am I being to optomisitic??

    Mine started RSD for the first time, after 4 months of use, a week ago last Tuesday. Two of them, nothing more until today. But I wouldn't count today because it happened strictly in the context of the computer hanging up when coming out of sleep.
    I'm not convinced that there aren't two different causes, one hardware and one software/firmware for two different problems that have the same symptoms. Might it explained why fixed MacBooks come back and then unfix themselves.
    But if it's not in firmware, or you're version of the problem isn't in firmware, you're going to have to send it in eventually. Try and plan a vacation for it and notify your clients; hopefully you can limp along without too much RSD inconvenience for long enough to get things straightened out for your MacBook repair vacation.
    And for the last time RSD is misnomer. Sudden is fine, if everybody like to use that. But these are not RANDOM. They are intermittent. A certain set of criteria are met and the computer shuts down without the user directing it do so or without the existence of an emergency condition that would cause the computer for its own shut down. But they only appear random; they are not.

  • cfdocument and cfchart stopped working when moved to Windows 2003/IIS6

    We just moved our content to a new server: from Windows 2000 to Windows  2003 (IIS6).
    We are using Cold Fusion MX 7,0,2,142559.
    Everything works properly after the move except:
    1. <cfdocument> (any, the simpliest one) hangs producing error:"The  document has no pages. null "
    2. <cfchart> crashes producing error: "Invalid attribute: autoAdjust null"
    What can it be? Where should we look? Is it some Windows 2003  feature/problem/blockage? Or does it look like Cold Fusion was not  installed properly?
    Any Hot Fixes are required?
    Any ideas are welcome!!!

    I would avoid installing 7.0.1 hotfixes on an 7.0.2 installation.   The 7.0.2 release notes state that "It also includes all previous ColdFusion MX 7 hot fixes that have been released to date, eliminating the need to install multiple hot fixes and patches."

  • IPhone 3G Severe battery loss stopped on its own today

    My iPhone 3G had some serious battery loss starting very late Friday / early Saturday and continuing through the weekend (9/19-9/20). Running the latest iTunes and firmware updates, etc. Happened to notice my service randomly switching back and forth between 3G and Edge during the morning of 9/20. Battery completely dead this morning 9/21 after charging 8 hours yesterday.
    Today the battery has shown 100% all day and into the night after charging for a couple hours this morning. Other iPhone users have reported the same experience to me here North of Seattle.
    My very amateur guess is AT&T messing around with their network was at fault.
    Thanks for the "great servicing" AT&T. Please Sir, may I have it again?

    I don't get the concept of having to turn off a bevy of things ( http://www.apple.com/batteries/iphone.html ) to get the iPhone to work PROPERLY and how it should work. Turn off 3G, turn off this, don't check multiple emails, etc... They built this hardware to do all this, so why not put a battery in it that can handle it?
    I have a Blackberry 8830 and I do not have to turn off anything to get it to last more than a day. In fact, it lasts about 6 days of normal use on a single charge. I have to have my iPhone on a charge the entire day just to get it through one day.

    Lets us try to start your environment by using a WLST script.
    Before you try starting the servers by using the script, could you first check your weblogic console,
    to see if the server soa_server1 is running or not (click on environment, servers) maybe the enterprise manager is out of sync.
    The following steps are necessary the run the script:
    First edit the nodemanager.properties (which is located in the directory <middleware-home>/wlserver_10.3/common/nodemanager).
    Find the entry StartScriptEnabled and set this property to true.
    Open a command shell and navigate to the directory <middleware-home>/wlserver_10.3/server/bin and run the file setWLSEnv.cmd
    (this sets your environment variables, so that we can run a WLST script).
    Copy the following script into a file named for example StartScript.py and adjust variables as needed
    beahome = '<middleware-home>';
    linux = false;
    adminusername = 'weblogic';
    adminpassword = 'transfer-solutions';
    domainname = 'base_domain';
    pathseparator = '/';
    if not linux:
         print 'SETTING WINDOWS PATH SEPARATOR';
         pathseparator = '\\';
    domainlocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'user_projects' + pathseparator + 'domains' + pathseparator + domainname;
    nodemanagerhomelocation = beahome + pathseparator + 'wlserver_10.3' + pathseparator + 'common' + pathseparator + 'nodemanager';
    print 'START NODE MANAGER';
    startNodeManager(verbose='true', NodeManagerHome=nodemanagerhomelocation, ListenPort='5556', ListenAddress='localhost');
    print 'CONNECT TO NODE MANAGER';
    nmConnect(adminusername, adminpassword, 'localhost', '5556', domainname, domainlocation, 'ssl');
    print 'START ADMIN SERVER';
    nmStart('AdminServer');
    nmServerStatus('AdminServer');
    print 'CONNECT TO ADMIN SERVER';
    connect(adminusername, adminpassword);
    print 'START SOA SERVER';
    start('soa_server1','Server');
    nmServerStatus('soa_server1');Run this script as follows, but first stop the servers already running
    java weblogic.WLST <directory>/StartScript.py

    Thanks,

    Hi, it´s a little late, but it may help to someone else.
    I just got the same error on deployment and realized i was going through a proxy server, who was responding with a http 503 code to deployment request from JDeveloper. Just check your proxy settings under Tools->Preferences->Web Browser and proxy and add an exception if needed.
    I also had to restart JDeveloper (a bug?) after adding the exception to correct the issue.
    regards,
    Pedro.

  • Systinet UDDI - SOA SUITE 11G (Dynamic SOAP end point lookup Issues)

    Hi,
    We are using Systinet as our UDDI product and trying to use UDDI lookup in our BPEL process as well. I have completed the below tasks
    1) Configured the Systinet UDDI Inquiry URL and the development soap endpoint in the SOA Infrastructure Common properties in soa server 11g. Did not provide the user-id and
    password.
    2) Restarted the servers so that the changes are effective.
    3) In Jdeveloper 11g, Created a connection with UDDI Registry.
    4) Created a sample BPEL process using Jdeveloper 11g that calls an already registered webservice in UDDI. This lookup web service has 3 different end
    points (Dev, QA and Prod) and a binding of wsdlDeployment use type. The binding points to the actual wsdl Physical location.
    1)     http://wasd.psc.com/SBDO.AD/services/Authez
    2)     http://wasq.psc.com/SBDO.AD/services/Authez
    3)     http://wasp.psc.com/SBDO.AD/services/Authez
    4)     http://wasd.psc.com/SBDO.AD/services/Authez/wsdl/Authez.wsdl
    5) In the BPEL created the partner link for this webservice using UDDI Registry and selected “Dynamically resolve the SOAP endpoint location at runtime”
    option.
    6) Generated the Configuration plan by right clicking the Composite.xml
    7) Modified the configuration plan and added a new property name “endpointURL” that points to the development endpoint (referred in Point # 4). Pasting the
    required portion of config plan for easy reference.
    </component>-->
    <reference name="PartnerLink_1_2">

    9) The service was able to get back the result. But in the log, it is showing that the WSDL is being searched in all the end points available for that service and does
    not take it to consideration the end point provided in the configuration plan.

    I supposed to make my previous question more concrete, the first answer I need before moving on to the rest of the bigger questions is this ...
    What is Oracle’s recommendation for a services invocation framework between BPEL, JEE and ESB containers? From a quick read of Oracle Technet website, WSIF seem to be the preferred framework for this purpose. However, from an equally quick survey of such frameworks in use today outside of Oracle, WSIF does not seem to enjoy any widespread developer community support anymore and all talk in public forum seem to point to newer Apache Frameworks such as CXF which support emerging standards such as JAX-WS 2.0 What is the current stand of Oracle with respect to this matter?

  • Installation of SOA Suite 11g for development purpose

    Hello All,
    I wanted to install SOA Suite 11g for development purpose on my laptop (OS Windows XP).
    As per installtion prerequisite process in the download page of oracle.
    I found the following pre requisite - installation of Oracle DB 11g EE(although i am having Oracle DB 10g R2 10.0.2.0 - now the problem is i am not able to run RCU in this data base, so i installed 11g)
    Jdev 11g Download
    Web Logic Server
    RCU Utlilty run
    then SOA Suite installation.
    My doubt is , is there any SOA development installation available because 11g DB EE takes lot of space in my system.
    if available please provide the link.
    Thanks & regards
