SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0 with Oracle OID

Hi All,
I have installed SOA Suite 11.1.1.3.0. I am able to use Oracle OID and able to login into weblogic console.
http://hostname.domainname.com:admin_port/console
But I am unable to login into worklistapp using OID user.
http://hostname.domainname.com:bpel_port/integration/worklistapp/faces/login.jspx
Do we need to do any provide any specific permission to OID user in the worklist app.
Regards,
David G

Sorry but I could not find anything like this in certification matrix. Although, few lines are mentioned about Oracle Database -
Ÿ The Oracle databases listed in this column are supported on all configurations (including RAC) and platforms that the database team supports. Check Certify for details.
Ÿ These Oracle databases (including RAC) can be used for WebLogic Server features and application connectivity.
Ÿ These Oracle databases (including RAC) support the following JDBC drivers: Oracle Thin Driver 11g; Oracle Thin/XA Driver 11g.
Ÿ If you are using Oracle Database 11g (11.2.0.1+) and you choose to configure Oracle Internet Directory (OID) with Oracle Database Vault, refer to the "Certified Databases" section of the Oracle Fusion Middleware System Requirements, Prerequisites, and Specifications 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) document ( http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/ias/files/fusion_requirements.htm ) for additional information.
In certification matrix, I can see that SOA suite 11g on Red Hat EL 5 (UL3+) is certified on Oracle 11.2.0.1+

  • Oracle SOA Suite (10.1.3.1.x) with AS 10.1.2.0.2

    Hi
We are planning to use Oracle SOA 10g R3 (BPEL &ESB) product with our current Oracle Application Servers 10.2.2.0.2 (Oc4j &Bc4j) , I need to know if Oracle SOA Suite 10gR3 (10.1.3.1.0) release can co-exist with our currently used version 10.2.2.0.2.
Can we leave the current setup running as is and install the new SOA Suite 10g R3 on a new separate machines and interface it with our current environment.
    Thanks

"When I was installing SOA 10.1.3.1.0 on oracle 10.2.0.1 and it was giving error that it needs minimum 10.2.0.3, just wondering 10.1.2.0.2 + SOA =will this work?"
so you talk about the db version. SOA 10.1.3.x runs on 10.2.0.1 and above (I ran for the longest time on XE) and if I remember correctly that's a warning, and not a hard prereq.
Regarding Appserver versions - soa 10.1.3 runs on AS 10.1.3 only

  • Eclipse+SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 Issues configuring Oracle AS in eclipse

I have searched all the forums and google but could not find much information.
I have installade soa_windows_x86_101310_disk1 and configured SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 whcih works perfectly fine with oracle JDeveloper. Since our developement platform is eclipse and not jDeveloper I am trying to see if I can configure eclipse to work with Oracle AS.
    1. Installed eclipse europa and installed WTP for eclipse.
    2. Created a j2ee project and trying to deploy on Oracle AS which I have created as part of SOA Suite ( Please see above).
    3. Trying to create a server instance from eclipse and deploy my application for testing with in eclipse.
    4. Issues:
I have created the server instance with the following:
    New>server>define a new server
    server's host name:localhost
    Server runtime: <drive>:/product/10.1.3.1/oracleas/j2ee/home
    for Oracle OC4J Standalone 10.1.3.1

password: weclome ( tried welcome1 which I have been using for OC4J thru JDeveloper)
ADMIN port =23791 ( default), tried 6003 ( OPMN port which I was using with OC4J thru JDEV), tried RMI port value 12401
    HTTP Port:8888
    web site: default-web-site
I could create the server instance and start it. Not sure if it is really starting and running.

    Chandra,
I am having the same problem with the same versions. I don't think I can move to a different AS to solve the problem.
I've searched a number of other threads in and out of Oracle for solutions. There seem to be a lot of different solutions for similar problems, but nothing that really solves this one.
If I find a solution, I'll post back here. I hope you will do the same or if some kind soul has solved it, she/he will post it.

  • SOA suite 101.1.3.1.0 and Oracle AS Adapter 10.1.2....???????

    Hi all,
I have installed SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0,now i want to install Oracle AS Adapter 10.1.2 but when I go for installation of AS adapter release 2 ( latest available) ,it gives me an error that home of apps server is not of web cache type...
Plz can anyone give any solns
    Thanks a lot
    -Mishit.

ya i know its not the standard way but i'l try these steps 'n post the result.
Bt the problem is m not having lib files (JAR files) of PeopleSoft( whc is only the application available for me here apart from oracle apps ) which should to be copied into <AppServer Home>/Adapters/lib folder 'n then only i can configure the adapter. i have to check with my admin for these files.
Well, when i try to install Adapters(Release 2) on SOA suite(101.1.3.1.0) it gives exactly following error:
"OracleAS 10g Adapters will run on top of the an Oracle Application Server
10g J2EE and Web Chache instance. This location does not contain this instance.
Please select a new oracle home which contains this instance."
Anyways,i'l try to deploy rar files manually once i'l get them.
    Thanks Peter.

  • Install SOA Suite 10.1.3.1 fails with a 'Unable to create home "oracleas1"

each time I try to install in shows this error:
Unable to create home "oracleas1" at "C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1". There are existing homes with the same name and the same location.
I previously had the preview release on this machine, but I uninstalled it and removed the directory. I also checked the windows registry, but it appears to be clean.
After the error message there is a C:\product\10.1.3.1\OracleAS_1\install.platform. Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Bret

    Vipin,
Thanks for the reply. However, the environment variable ORACLE_HOME was not set. Remember I had looked through the registry to make sure it was clean. This included the environment variables that are defined therein.
I did get around this problem by not using the default install path. I changed c:\product to a different directory name and it work. It is strange that it had a problem with the same path that the previous SOA preview was installed to. Since the directory was not there and I could not find anything in the registry. There must be a file in the %WINDOWS% directory that has information about other oracle installs. At least that is my guess. It is apparent that a deinstall does not remove everything :)

  • Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 with Oracle Database 10.2.0

    Dear All,
I've downloaded Oracle Developer Suite 10.1.2.0.2 from OTN website. I'm having two database versions on two different machines on the network. They are Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 and Oracle 10.2.0.
Which one is more suitable to work with Dev Suite 10.1.2, the lower version of database or the upper.
    Please help,
    Thanks,

"they are Oracle 9.2.0.1.0 and Oracle 10.2.0."
go with the 10.2 database server (10gR2). As you might know, the 9.2.0.1 is no longer supported. You must upgrade your 9i database to 9.2.0.8 (latest patchset). So, avoid upgrading (especially if it's not your job) and use the 10gR2 server and save yourself headaches in the future. (for example: if you want to upgrade your iDS/iAS 10gR2 to latest patchset 3, then one of the requirements is to ensure that your metadata repository minimum is 9.2.0.8 (if on a separate db)).
    Hope this proves useful

Did you install the service registry in the same container as SOA suite, e.g. oc4j_soa.
It is typically best practice to install into separate container so upgrades don't affect other applications.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11g (BPEL Process) Dependency with Database

    Folks,
Oracle SOA Suite 11g requires a relational DB like Oracle, SQL Server to maintain the Metadata for the SOA & Related Components.
Can you plz let me know with your experience - what should happen to a running BPEL Process if the database (SOAINFRA) is down? Being very specific -
1, Does/Should end-point become inaccessible? Or Does service remains accessible but throws service remote-fault execption?
2, What happens to a process which is in running state?
My experience in these scenarios is not encouraging; we have notices the following -- during the time when our SOAINFRA database is down, the in-process (running) instances are left in a running state. These instances do not complete or move forward even when the Database is back. These instances do not provide any information in the Enterprise Manager.
Also, if DB is down WSDL's are still accesssible, is this right way?
If this is how SOA does work then I would doubt for its merit……...your thought plz????
    Thanks & Regards
    Shyam Kumar

I am not posting here because I'm smart but because your questions look interesting.
during the time when our SOAINFRA database is down, the in-process (running) instances are left in a running stateYou know that BPEL is a state-full product and it needs database support for persisting the process of state so if database goes down it is an expected behavior that processes may stuck in the same state where they were when DB went down. I don't see anything wrong with it.
These instances do not complete or move forward even when the Database is back.Instances should auto/manually recoverable. If this is not the case then you may raise a SR with support.
These instances do not provide any information in the Enterprise Manager. What information you could not find? Can you be more clear on this?
Also, if DB is down WSDL's are still accesssible, is this right way?Yes, again it's expected because design time data also gets stored in DB only and hence if DB goes down, any design time data may not be accessible.
If this is how SOA does work then I would doubt for its merit……...your thought plz????Why so? Alternative of DB is physical memory and that I don't think is perfect for long running BPEL processes and their heavy design time data. Moreover, it will create problems in terms of auditing, support and maintenance. If your requirement is such that it does not need any long running BPEL processes and even auditing is not required and use case is simple routing and transformation with no DB dependency then you may go for OSB which is a stateless product. BPEL is generally used for long running processes and hence DB is the best option, in my opinion at least.
    Regards,
    Anuj

  • Starting One of managed server in cluster SOA Suite(11.1.1.4.0) fails

    Oracle Soa Suite (11.1.1.4.0)
    Weblogic (10.3.4).
Operating System : Red Hat Linux 5.5
I have installed and configured Oracle Soa Suite (11.1.1.4.0) with 1 Admin Server(host1) and 2 Managed Severs (host1,host2). Deployed wsm-pm (cluster), wsm*.*.seedpolicies* (cluster).
I was able to start the Admin Server , Started the Node Managers in both (host1) & (host2). I made sure to run the pack & unpack utility from $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin folder while i moved from one host to another.
Also i ran $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin/./setNMProps.sh on both host1 & host2. Made sureto check on both the nodemanager running on host1 & host2 has "StartScriptEnabled=true".
Now when i start Managed Server 1 in host1(Admin server run on same host) -- It started just fine.
When i Started Managed Server 2 in host2 , it started with ADMIN State and i tailed the logs and found the exception below.
I also made sure the os level permissions are not an issue here. I can see those artifacts in the folder structure mentioned and available. So not sure what am I missing here.
Any help solving this exception would be appreciated.

    Ravi,
    Thanks for your reply.
Yes I did pretty standard stuff on pack and unpack. I did the same in SOA Suite 11gR1 PS1 and it works fine.
I tried to do the same with PS2 which had issues clustering the osb. But soa suite ran fine using nodemanager and startManagedServer.
I am trying the same procedure and it failed in 11.1.1.4.0 version.
When i checked the classpath between the managed server on hosta and hostb it looks different.

I noticed the jar files in both classpath are same , but its denoted different in hosta which runs fine like "@oracle....*.jar" but in hostb its denoted as /data/..../*.jar.
Not sure if something is missing or should be run between them to work fine.

  • SOA Suite Business Rules: Error caching the Decision Services metadata

    hi ofm users
    im currentntly trying
    SOA Suite 11.1.1.1.0
    on Oracle XE
    on Windows XP Pro
what im trying is a simple use case of business rule component,
my service is getWorkStatusByDay, that i implement using
business rules component using decision table.
    my rule model is (conceptually):
    Day{
         String id;
         String code;//mon,tue,wed,...,sat,sun
    WorkStatus{
         String id;
         String code;//holiday, work
    WorkStatus getWorkStatusByDay(Day):
is rule service that decides WorkStatus code by Day code,
    eg:
if Day.code=mon,tue,wed,...,fri then we got WorkStatus.code=work
if Day.code=sat, sun then we got WorkStatus.code=holiday
i've successfully created the composite project, using
rule component, mediator, and exposed it as a webservice
    compiled and deployed ok.
but when i try to run the service using soapUI WS tester,
i'm getting error in the console, see stacktrace below.
im able to reproduce the error by deploying the project
to another computer with a same spec as above.
So is there any solution to this ? how to fix this issue,
as this is a very basic sample scenario.
    Any information will be appreciated,
as im looking forward to evaluating Oracle Business for a client project :)
