SOA SUITE 11g MDS lock

Question

I am not able to deploy the artifacts to the SOA server. I am getting the following error messages while deploying for each and every file in the composite:
MDS-00001: exception in Metadata Services layer
MDS-00522: failure to save document /deployed-composites/default/DeadLetterQueueManagementBPEL_rev1.0/xsd/DeadLetterQueue_GenericHumantaskWorkflowTask.xsd to the metadata repository
MDS-00557: Resource /deployed-composites/default/DeadLetterQueueManagementBPEL_rev1.0/xsd/DeadLetterQueue_GenericHumantaskWorkflowTask.xsd is already locked or is being modified.
at oracle.mds.internal.transfer.InternalMDSTransfer.execute(InternalMDSTransfer.java:790)
at oracle.mds.internal.transfer.InternalMDSTransfer.transfer(InternalMDSTransfer.java:360)
Version of the SOA Suite 11gR1ps3
I also checked the DB MDS Schema for lock but there was no locks on DB schema.
Has anyone seen this?

Hello guys,
It's been a while since you've posted this so it was probably resolved a long time ago but as I've stumbled over this a few times during development for the SOA Suite 11 I thought it would be good to put the solution here.
The MDS-00557 is really the ORA-00054 in the underlying Oracle database. It can happen and it doesn't have to be an abnormal situation but in our case it's been constantly blocking some composites from being deployed. The problem seems to be pesimistic locking with a 'select for update' while updating MDS_PATHS on deployment without properly releasing the lock later with commit or rollback due to an intermediate crash of a deployment process (e.g. an unexpected shutdown/network issues etc.).
The solution is to find and kill a session that holds orphaned locks. To find it one can use a variant of (requires a sysdba) a below query:
select *
from
v$session s,
v$process p
where
s.paddr = p.addr
and
s.sid in (select SESSION_ID from v$locked_object);
And to kill it:
alter system kill session 'sid,serial#' immedaite;
