Soalris 8 x86 and IDE

I installed Solaris 8 x86 02/02, but later I used the same disk to install other OS, it said the disk geometry is invalid. I have to spend 3 hours to fix the disk.
No matter what disk I use (Maxtor 40G, 80G, Quntum), and no matter if I enable DMA, it's same. What can I do here?

I format the whole harddrive, so it is not a issue.
I have an older version 04/01 which doesn't have this problem.

I have a print server win 2008 r2 with some printers installed on it including x86 and x64 drivers.
1. I wanted to install printer drivers on x86 and x64 CLIENT OS (win 7/8 ) from the print server.
2. This installation should in in backend(hide mode). While installing it should not pop up on user desktop for installation.

I was using bellow script but it displays on desktop before installation.

given your scenario, this script is probably what you are looking for:
Add-PrinterDriver
It will add all printerdrivers from shared printerobjects from a printer server.

Windows 8.1 standad (not-Pro/Enterprise) x86 and x64 bit client support

Can someone from the team please clarify if Windows 8.1 standard (not pro/ent) x86 and x64 computers are supported as full Intune computers?
I want my small business customers who have BYOD (home computers) that have Windows 8.1 standard (NOT RT) be monitored, managed, AND have the same anti-malware system as the Windows 8.1 Pro/Ent computers.
This was clearly (and surprisingly) addressed at the Build 2013 conference this year in San Francisco when Intune and OpenMDM was discussed but the updated TechNet pages such as
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj676630.aspx show that Pro/Ent is required.
Is there another Intune service update coming that adds support for home computers, is the documentation wrong, or did I misunderstand the keynote and the answers to my follow up questions from that event?

Can you address if there is technical issue or if this is a licensing/policy issue?
I have a lot of prospects who do not have licensing with Home Use Rights - not to mention the management and licensing control of home use rights of the OS is not "cloud controlled". (i.e. nothing easily in place that offers the level of control that say
Office 365 Pro Plus - which handles provisioning/activation AND deactivation should someone leave the company).
I find the message hard to explain to customers that home computers running Windows 8 standard clients can't support/run software that Windows 8 Pro clients can. There was a body of messaging that took years to build up about the advantages of domain
joined clients needing to be "Pro or higher" but in this case the message don't ring correct given we are talking about "personal owned" rather than company owned devices.
How do I explain that as far as Windows Intune is concerned that Windows 8 standard computers and iOS tablets are the same?

Dreamspark Windows 8.1 Pro x86 and x64 Product Key Issue

I am having trouble with DreamSpark. I have an account from DreamSpark and want to use windows 8.1 pro x64 in my laptop. The problem is that dreamspark gives me only one product key for both x64 and x86 versions of windows 8.1 pro but when I try to install
x64, it asks me to validate x64 via that product key. After typing the key, it gives me an error saying sth "could not validate". However, in the x86 version, it is able to validate. It is annoying because it says "Microsoft

I agree with Yannick, both x64 and x86 should work fine, but only one is installed at a time,
for example, before you install the 64bit version, you will need to uninstall the 32bit version, even if it is on another computer.

Solaris 8 x86 and 10 x86 differences

I have a device driver that works on Solaris 8 x86. I installed this same device driver on a box with Solaris 10 x86. Under Solaris 10 x86 I get a message "WARNING: minor name <tec
_0> is not compatible network driver name <tec>". Also, opening the device under Solaris 10 x86 will cause the OS to quit responding. Where can I find a list of differences between Solaris 8 x86 and Solaris 10 x86?

Another way to install Matrox G550 is to Install AcceleratedX from www.xig.com
It supports a lot of graphic card and it also supports hardware acceleration for OpenGL

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

You will want to open iPhoto, go to the iPhoto menu and select Preferences. Under the General tab, next to Connecting camera opens: select iPhoto. Close the preferences and quit iPhoto. Reconnect your iPhone 4. iPhoto should open automatically and offer to import your pictures. Import them and then do what you want with them.

Cause and effect points to out-of-spec memory.
Run Apple Hardware Test. Run the extended tests.

If it fails the memory tests, remove the memory and re-seat it. The sockets are very "tight". Run AHT again.
If it still fails, replace your original memory. If it works, you found the problem. Buy Mac memory from Crucial or OWC / MacSales.

Cross compiling apps on solaris 8 for solaris 10 x86 and x64

We have a few applications built on Solaris 8. and we want to build the same apps on Solaris 10 x86 and x64 but the problem is clearcase does not support Solaris 10 yet.
Can we cross compile the apps on Solaris 8 for Solaris 10 x86 and x64 ? and how ?

FYI, I noticed the reply on Sun Studio General Forum:
If you build an app on one version of Solaris, the app will run on later Solaris versions. So in particular, you can build an x86 application on Solaris 8 and run it on Solaris 9 and 10.
Unfortunately, an x64 application must be built on a Solaris x64 system, which first became available with Solaris 10.

Your expectation here needs to be adjusted. No one recommended contacting support. William just mentioned that *if* you have an issue and needed to contact support, they may decline to help you because you've done something explicitly unsupported.

Additionally, I've also been in contact with the sustained engineering folks responsible for the CUs and they've reinforced the statement.
What can happen? Who knows? Microsoft does not test against unsupported configurations and features -- that's the definition of unsupported. It's not tested so no one really knows. They did find a couple of explicit issues (outlined in that post above) so
know that at least those exist and probably more since it is, as mentioned, abandoned code.
Why does it matter what can happen though? If the folks who write and support the code tell you shouldn't do it, you are simply asking for problems by doing it. Ultimately, you're asking a question that has no defined answer (except "bad"/unsupported things)
that really doesn't matter if you follow the explicit guidance. If you don't, as William points out, that's a risk for you take and an answer for you to discover.

Error when installing Ecc5.0 and IDES Ecc5.0

Hi all,
I tried to install Ecc5.0 and IDES ECC5.0 on same server( windows 2003,and Oracle9i),but when installing ECC5.0 after successfully install IDES Ecc5.0,used following two cases, there are errors.
Case one:
install IDES and ECC on different SAP system:
step one: instlling a Non-Unicode SAP Ecc 5.0 SR1 ABAP system --> installs central instance on both systems, T13 and T14, from DVD 51031149
Step two: instlling a Non-Unicode SAP Ecc 5.0 SR1 ABAP system --> installs database instance on T13, select IDES export DVDs(DVD 51031332) during the installation process, installation successfully.
Step 3: instlling a Non-Unicode SAP Ecc 5.0 SR1 ABAP system --> installs database instance on T14, select ERP 2004 export DVDs(DVD 51031867) during the installation process, there is error when installation went to Oracle database Load with something like name alreay in the database.
Case two:install IDES and ECC on same SAP system:
Base on the above error, I tried to install ECC database instance on T13 again with diffrent Schema ID from IEDS database instance.
still there is an error like "connect with sql failed, error # 257".
Could any one help me?

Pls let us know that could you able to install ECC5 IDES, if yes pls give EXPORT material no.

Win2k3 64 x86 and Appex instalation problems (missing OHS on companion CD)

Oracle guys,
I do understand that Windows is not preffered OS for Oracle...but most of us Oracle people have laptops and on them Windows OS (from Win2k, Win XP, Win2k3, Win2k364...tomorrow maybe Vista).
 So we, with new 64 bit CPU, would like to use all the potential of the hardware. I do not want to describe why 2k3 is very stable and secure platform...but after Win2k this is one of the most complete OS from MS (IMHO).
 So, please give us a note what to do if we want to use Win2k3 64 server x86 version and Oracle10gR2 64 for x86 and want to develop Appex on this database.
 Missing point is OHS (it is not on companion CD)-so any suggestion what to do is appresciated (If standalone Appache is solution please let us know which version would suite best...and do we have to install "mod" parts...
 P.S.
 I know that Win2k3 64 bit and Oracle WinNT32 is not recommended combination (I have some listener problems so I decided to quit this combination)...so I'm exploring Oracle 64 bit usage-but now I'm stucked!

How about installing HTTP server as Oracle Application Server 10g. Even if it is not supported it may work since this is just for development on your laptop.
Alternatively install Database XE which comes with Apex 2.1 ( but not the latest version 2.2).
I have just hit the same problem. I have installed database and companion 10 R2 10.2.0.1.0 with patch 4547918 to 10.2.0.2 on my MS WIN x86 64 bit laptop. I wanted to install Apex 2.2 on top but have no HTTP server. Thanks for pointing out the release notes.
The getting stated page of the documentation on the companion cd states you can install the following 2 installation types:
* Oracle Database 10g Products: Includes Oracle Database Examples, natively compiled Java libraries for Oracle JVM and Oracle interMedia, and knowledge bases for Oracle Text.
* Oracle Database 10g Companion Products: Includes Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Workflow, and Oracle HTML DB.
But as we have found you can only install Products not Companion Products on 10g Release 2 (10.2) for Microsoft Windows(x64).
