SOAMANAGER for PPS CPPR SOA

SRM 7 EHP 1
ECC 6 EHP 5
Netweaver PI 7.0 EHP 2
We are trying to setup CPPR scenario for PPS.
Currently we need to setup the following SOA services in ECC & SRM (through SOAMANAGER) -
QueryCodeList
RFQRequestSUITERequest
RFQRequestSUITEAllowedBiddersByIdentifyingElementsQueryResponse
We get the following error on the consumer side -
SRT Framework exception: Error in WSDL access: Exception occurred in communication framework:Error in HTTP Framework:404Connection Failed
We do not have the WS adapter for Netweaver PI 7.0
Please provide pointers on the below -
1. Is Netweaver PI 7.1 required to configure the SOA services or can we configure using 7.0?
2. Is WS adapter mandatory?

Hello Amish,
Kindly check for the SOA user credentials and authorizations here used in the service configuration.
The user should exists in the SRM system with type as service user.
Roles to be given here :
/SAPSRM/EMPLOYEE_EHP1
/SAPSRM/OP_PURCHASER_EHP1
/SAPSRM/ST_PURCHASER_EHP1
SAP_BC_WEBSERVICE_CONSUMER
Ensure that profiles are generated properly here and the user is integrated to the SRM org structure.
May be you can delete the binding service created in the srm system , and start configuration for the same from first step to avoid issues.

However, don't you think it would be a better idea to try and figure out why Powerpoint freezes on half your files?

Error starting the SOAMANAGER for Configuration

Hi fellows,
I've created a web service from a RFC. When I tried to start the SOAMANAGER for configuration to create the an endpoint I've got the error bellow:
"Invalid index 1 when setting lead selection; context node: MAIN.1.NODE_SEARCH_TABLE"
I tried to acess the SOAMANAGER transaction to find the service description created. I found it but when I tried to create the endpoint I got the errors:
"Error: Error when reading variant "ZWS_TESTE" of servicedefinition "ZWS_TESTE": An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL oc "
And
"No service/endpoint selected"
Someone knows what am I missing?

While searching the service defintion in Soamanager i get the error.

External requirements from ERP to SRM with ExtendedClassic scenario for PPS

We are having SRM 7.01 system with ERP ehp4, and we have to do PPS ( Public sector Procurement) as part of our implementation,for that we need to activate Extended classic Scenario.
My question is whether we can have external requirements ( Material PR and Service PR) from ERP can be processed in the srm system.

We can use either the CPPR functionality which requires PI/XI to be in place or maintaining the T160PR and T160EX tables in ECC and running the report BBP_EXTREQ_TRANSFER to push the PR's into SRM. In SRM we have to maintain the entry channel to bring the PR's into SOCO.

Do I need to set system env variables for weblogic and SOA server installation?

   I already have two weblogic application servers on my machine(that were installed by others).
I observed some environment variables were also set in System variables(ORACLE_HOME,WEB_SERVER_HOME etc) section in Env variables section(Start Menu---> Computer --> properties ---).But why do we need to have system environment variables wherein we already have those variables in files like setDomainEnv.bat or/and setSOADoaminEnv.bat for each server.
And one more thing system variables will be applicable for all servers(the whole machine) right.It may spoil the installation of new servers and present servers as variables should be unique to each server.
    I want to install weblogic and SOA server installation.
So Can I remove the existing system variables(as they will applicable for every server) and install weblogic and SOA server installation without setting up the environment variables?
Especially I have multiple Weblogic servers,In that case how it would be to have environment variables(JAVA_HOME,WL_HOME,ORACLE_HOME etc)?
Please guide me on this to installl SOA suite .

[URGENT]Username and password for BPEL in SOA suite 10.1.3.1.0

We have successfully installed SOA Suite 10.1.3.1.0.The BPEL Console login screen is appearing.We can enter BPEL Admin using oc4jadmin but we cant enter BPEL console.What is the username passowrd for the console?Do we need to create a username or its created by default while installing.I have used previous versions of BPEL where we used to have domain name as "default".Is there any similar concept in this version.Please help its urgent.

When we are trying with any other username /password than default/welcome1 we are getting Authentication failed.When we are trying with default/welcome1 we are getting following error:
404 Not Found

Adapter Engine Load balancing for Messages HTTP SOA/SOE

Greetings all,
We are currently implementing our SOE/SOA solution utilizing SAP services between a .Net Application. Basically .Net -> PI -> ECC and back.
We are load testing the system and are now experiencing the CI getting overloaded.
We have upped the Thread Count (Thread Manager 350 and System Threads 120) and the Queue thread from 5 to 20.
We are using SOAP with Principal Propagation.
There is a hardware load balancer we are using which can spread the load between multiple application servers. We modified the SLDRegistration host and ports (http/https) in Visual Administrator (SAP XI AF CPA Cache) in the global server node.
In SXI_CACHE Got -> Adapter Engine Cache, it displays http://<sidms>:<port>/MessagingSystem/receive/AFW/XI
Is this where the load balancer should be placed with the port name?
Any help would be appreciated.

SICF and SOAMANAGER for using enterprise services

Hi,
I need to publish enterprise services from my ERP backend to the Services Registry on my PI server.
According to the tutorial (https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/20b723f8-a422-2c10-aca5-fe64eeda1ff2), I have to first activate the services in SICF and create endpoints for the corresponding services in SOAMANAGER.
I suppose, only after that I could publish the configured services in SR using WSPUBLISH, right?
Now, if let say I want to publish all enterprise services in my ERP backend, I have to select all the services in the WSPUBLISH, as stated in the instructions of the tutorial (http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/108ef7ba-8abd-2a10-f787-d5f29c5f1b88). But the problem is, do I need to configure every single enterprise services using SOAMANAGER? If not, only the service definitions would be published?
Hopefully someone could clear my doubts.

Hi Venu,
I could not see any nodes for end points in the SICF. So I manually created a service endpoint in SOAMANAGER and then published it to the Services Registry via WSPUBLISH. However, I was surprised to see two endpoints (one was created by me) in the Services Registry.
The service is "ECC_PURCHASEORDERCRTRC" and there are two endpoints for it in the Services Registry:
1. ECC_PURCHASEORDERCRTRC_Binding (created by me)
2. PurchaseOrderCreateRequestConfirmation_InSoapBinding
When I open the service in SOAMANAGER and navigate to the "Configuration" tab, I only see the endpoint from me (with "Manually Created" for Creation Type).
I wonder if the 2nd endpoint was created automatically during the service publishing?

WSDL version used for port creation in SOAMANAGER for Netweaver 7.01 SP-5.

Does SOAMANAGER refer to a particular version of WSDL while creating the logical ports for consumer proxies. I'm asking this because after one of the upgrades in our ECC system we find that the authentication configurations of the port are automatically done based on the WSDL now, however this was not the case earlier.
Also logical ports created manually are giving runtime exception (Soap FAult Code : 1). Does logical ports creation necessarily have to be done from WSDL.
Please throw some light on the above, if any of you have faced this issue already.

We got a reply from SAP that from NetWeaver 7.0 SP3, logical ports will be created based on Security policy mentioned in WSDL. We can however override this by creating the port manually and the SOAP fault code error can be resolved by manually entering the SOAP Action for each method of the Service in the 'Operation Specific' tab of the Logical Port details.

Steps to follow for Installing Oracle SOA 11g in 64 bit Windows 7 machine

I have successfully installed Oracle SOA 11g components in Windows 32 bit machine by following the downloading the installers for Windows 32 bit and following the steps mentioned in the Quick Start Guide for SOA Suite and BPM Suite.
Now I am trying to install Oracle SOA components in Windows 7 64 bit machine.Are the installation steps I followed for 32 bit is applicable for 64 bit too?Or are there any difference?
In the download section of installers,I could see one for 32 bit, linux and generic.Can you guide me which one I need to download for 64 bit machine?

First of all, I think that the term 'SOA project' is a misnomer. There is no such thing. SOA is a state of mind
You need to define what you want to do and then find the right tools for the job. For example, if your architecture states that you want to define all re-usable functionality as services (which is at the heart of SOA), then you need to find the appropriate tools to provide this service. You could code it using ABAP (then your tool would be the ABAP workbench) or you could code it in Java (then your tool could be Eclipse or NWDS). You would expose it as a web service... so your tool could be something like xmlspy to create the wsdl.
In an SAP context, some of the common tools you would need to enable SOA would be the ESR, along with the Composition Environment for service consumption, provisioning or even composite apps.
For service and process design, I use a tool for building UML diagrams and a tool for drawing BPMN -based process maps, and even Visio.
I also use a wiki and a mind-mapping tool for personal productivity.
But all of these could be used on any project, they don't have anything to do with SOA.
