SOAP call failling

Hi ,
I am using a SOAP Receiver adapter to send a message. I am getting the below error when i try to call the soap adapter.
SOAP: call failed: com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.
SOAP: error occured: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sun.org.apache.xerces.internal.impl.io.MalformedByteSequenceException: Invalid byte 1 of 1-byte UTF-8 sequence.

Hi Sneha,
Please check Target URL, enter the complete address (URL) of the Web service provider that you want to send the message to. I searched and searched this error and all i could is that there could be a problem with wsdl.

  • SOAP  Call to SAP RFC

    Hi,
    I have a scenario in which I am calling a RFC from SOAP client. RFC has been exposed as a web service. The RFC takes a table parameter. The Table param is Not Optional.
    Everything works fine except when I try to send an invalid value in the Export Param to the RFC. The SOAP Call Fails and I get a fault Message.
    If there is an invalid value in the Export Param the Table Parameter is Null. So is that the reason why the SOAP call fails??
    Any help regarding this would be appreciate. Tried searching OSS but could not find anything on this.
    Here is the Fault Message:

    Were you able to resolve this problem? I am facing a similar situation.
    After doing all the steps necessary when I try to send a request to the soap_sender channel I get a message unable to post:error 500
    ANy help would be appreciated.

  • Can I use SOAP calls to remotely access functions on a SOAP server?

    Hi,
    I've used JavaScript and SOAP with "regular Acrobat" (e.g. Acroforms) to connect to a SOAP server, followed by Acrobat automatically setting up functions that I can call from JavaScript that, courtesy of SOAP, are relayed to the SOAP server for execution.  For example, a SOAP server that implements a Temperature function.  After doing the Net.SOAP.connect, my JavaScript magically has access to the Temperature() function, which is then executed remotely on the SOAP server courtesy of SOAP protocol.
    My question is: With Livecycle Designer and it's XFA-based forms, do I have the same ability to programmatically connect to a SOAP server and automatically have JavaScript functions set up that I can call on the server?  From what I've read, there are LC Submit and Execute operations which interact (e.g. exchange data) with a specified SOAP server, but it isn't clear that LC provides the ability to end up with a set of functions that I can call from my JavaScript that are then executed on the SOAP server.
    Stated more simply: Does LiveCycle Designer have the ability to connect to a SOAP server and automatically set up JavaScript functions that I can call (that then get relayed to the SOAP server for execution, followed by the return of data to my XFA-based program)?
    Thanks.
    Dave

    Hi Varma_LC and pguerett,
    First, thank you both for your quick responses!  It sounds like I shouldn't have any trouble using XFA forms and SOAP together.
    Let me ask a related question (not about LiveCycle & SOAP, but just about SOAP).  I'm trying to return two values from one SOAP call.  http://www.avoka.com/blog/?p=998&cpage=1#comment-1692 describes how to do this.  Unfortunately, it's not working for me.
    I'm able to retrieve single values from my SOAP server just fine.  When I try to return two values, the Acrobat JavaScript debugger says both values are "UNDEFINED".  The key part of my code is:
       var IntValue =   // define an int
         soapType: "xsd:int",
         soapValue: "1"
       var NValue =
           n1: IntValue  // n1 is the parameter my SOAP server expects
       var GetTheData = service.GetAllData(NValue);  // Go get the data and populate the GetTheData object
       console.println("GetTheData = " + GetTheData.CmdError + GetTheData.CmdResults);
       Param_1V.value = GetTheData.CmdError;     // This is a text box to display the returned value
       Param_2V.value = GetTheData.CmdResults; // This is also a text box to display the returned value
    Both the console.println & the two text boxes (beginning with Param) print out the same results, namely "UNDEFINED".
    I ran my SOAP client and SOAP server on two different computers, and then used WireShark to look at the SOAP protocol.  The SOAP protocol looks fine, and contains CmdError and CmdResults XML opening/closing tags around the actual data I'm trying to read from the SOAP server. Plus there are GetAllDataResponse and GetAllDataResult XML opening/closing tags around the data XML tags.
    I'm using Acrobat 9 and I developed my SOAP server using Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) 3.5.  The same JavaScript program that is unable to retrieve two values returns one value just fine (a different service... call, of course).  In other words, it's being done in one program, not two separate programs.  So, my singular Net.SOAP.connect call seems to be working fine.
    When I do the Net.SOAP.connect, I display the returned services, and GetAllData is listed, so Acrobat JavaScript knows about this particular service.
    BTW, the WCF built-in client works fine in retrieving/displaying the two returned values, correctly detecting and displaying both returned values.  Of course, the WCF client may have different "rules" than Acrobat has in terms of processing SOAP messages.  I've seen differences before between the WCF client and Acrobat.
    Any insights either of you have or anyone else has would be *greatly* appreciated. I've never used try/catch to trap JavaScript errors, if there is some type of error I should logically be looking for, I would be interested in information on that as well.
    Thanks!
    Dave

  • Launch batch job thru SOAP call : no execution, connection OK.

    Hello,
    I am experiencing some problems launching batch jobs thru Web Services. I have added batch job "EPN_Test_Webservices" to the Web Services and enabled the Job Attributes.
    When I try to launch the job thru a SOAP call, I get a reply but the job is not executed.
    This is the SOAP envelope:
    <SOAP-ENV:Envelope xmlns:SOAP-ENV="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:SOAP-ENC="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema">
         <SOAP-ENV:Body>
              <m:EPN_Test_Webservices_Job xmlns:m="http://www.businessobjects.com/DataIntegrator/ServerX.xsd">
                   <job_parameters>
                        <job_system_profile>String</job_system_profile>
                        <sampling_rate>10</sampling_rate>
                        <auditing>true</auditing>
                        <recovery>true</recovery>
                        <job_server>JS_ict</job_server>
                        <trace>String</trace>
                   </job_parameters>
              </m:EPN_Test_Webservices_Job>
         </SOAP-ENV:Body>
    </SOAP-ENV:Envelope>
    This is the reply I get:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
         <soapenv:Body>
              <BatchJobResponse>
                   <pid>3888</pid>
                   <cid>13</cid>
              </BatchJobResponse>
         </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    When I use the "ping" operation I get the following reply:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
         <soapenv:Body>
              <pingVersion>
                   <version>Business Objects Data Integrator Version 11.7.2.0</version>
              </pingVersion>
         </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    ...which indicates the connection works. Also the "processed counter" increases, but the job does not get executed. There is nothing in the  job log, there is no result (the job is supposed to write a record in a database table). What can be wrong?

    If I run the following (on the machine I'm trying to set up the share)
    smbclient -L localhost -U%
    I got the following output
    Connection to localhost failed (Error NT_STATUS_CONNECTION_REFUSED)
    so I thought it might be something incorrect with the iptables side of things, however I haven't really touched that at all and it seems to look correct
    iptables -nvL
    Chain INPUT (policy ACCEPT 667 packets, 79977 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    Chain FORWARD (policy ACCEPT 0 packets, 0 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    Chain OUTPUT (policy ACCEPT 157 packets, 20724 bytes)
    pkts bytes target prot opt in out source destination
    So from my (very little) knowledge this appears correct (I think)... However it appears that something is blocking access somewhere.

  • ** SOAP to SOAP call - HTTP 404 not found - invalid content type

    Hi friends,
    We have one scenario SOAP to SOAP call. It is synchronous interface. We are calling the WSDL.
    For some of the messages (not all), we are getting the error in SXMB_MONI
    com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 404 Not Found
    In the sender & receiver SOAP communication channel also, same error : SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: invalid content type for SOAP: TEXT/HTML; HTTP 404 Not Found
    Friends, this error is not coming for all messages. For some of the messages it is coming. For example,
    10:50 - Message Processed Successfully
    10:54 - Message Processed Successfully
    10:59 - Error
    11:05 - Message Processed Successfully
    By looking threads and blogs, I implemented MessagesTransformBean in the receiver CC and added the  parameter Transform.ContentType as 'text/xml;charset=utf-8'.
    After implementing this also, error is coming for some of the messages.
    Can you kindly clarify friends, what could be the problem?
    Kind regards,
    Jegathees P.

    I'm in agreement with Stefan...
    If the problem is intermittent then the system is overloaded at certain times. You would probably need to do some JVM analysis to see the resource usage & look at increasing the memory.

  • Synchronous SOAP call from XI without BPM....

    Hi All,
    Is it possible to use the (File - XI - SOAP) Synchronous SOAP call from XI with out BPM. to trace the error messages. If yes then how it can be achived in XI.
    Thanks,
    Jane

    Hi,
    You will get either a system error/application error raised if there is a problem processing the SOAP request without the need for BPM.
    You can then raise an alert from the RWB if this occurs.
    If all is OK with processing, you will get the standard chequered flag.
    Cheers
    Colin.

  • Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK

    Hi PI gurus,
      Need some suggestions on one issue below -
      Scenario - proxy (SAP) to SOAP (Web based system)
      In the RWB Communication Channel Monitirong we are receiving the below error
      " Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK"
    the request from XI system is going to target system and printing the lables (as per the functionality) with no issues but the comminication channel is giving the above error and this is causing the repeated sending the same request to target sytem and the data is printing repeateadly. This issues is occuring in Quality environment.
    Strangley the same Interface with the same connectivity details is working fine in Development environment. But not working in Quality environment. Checked the firewalls settings on both in XI and Target system side and confirmed that everything is fine.
    Below are the Logs both from Quality and developement are as follows
    Quality ( Failure Case)
    17.03.2011 07:19:59 Success SOAP: request message entering the adapter with user J2EE_GUEST
    17.03.2011 07:25:03 Error SOAP: call failed: java.io.IOException: Read timed out; HTTP 200 OK
    Development     (Success ful)

    17.03.2011 07:27:58 Success SOAP: completed the processing
    When we checked with basis team on user id J2EE_GUEST,  they confirmed that they are same in Development and Quality.
    I repeat,, that the same target url and everthing is same in XI Configuration
    Thanks in Advance. Points would be rewared for the best solution.
    Thanks,
    Jitender

    HI Jitender,

  • Error in SOAP call with certificate

    Hello experts!
    I am developing an interface RFC --> SOAP
    This SOAP call is for an external system and my basis team set up a certificate into visual adm in order to be able to communicate with my external partner.
    I set up this certificate into my communication channel (key store entry).
    When this interface is executed I get the following error:
    com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: No service was found matching the request
    Does anyone know what is happening?
    Best regards,
    Diego.

    Hi guys,
    We have built another scenario to connect to a public web service (without certificates) and it connects properly. In other words the XI machine has access to the internet. Both scenarios are being authenticated in the company proxy. That's why it may not be a firewall issue.
    I've imported the wsdl file into the SoapUI (software to test web services) and I am getting the same error. But when I am trying to execute this test from outside of my company I getting a different error, as follows:
    <soap:Envelope xmlns:soap="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <soap:Body>
          <soap:Fault>
             <faultcode>soap:Client</faultcode>
             <faultstring>Validation Error</faultstring>
             <faultactor>internal-firewall</faultactor>
             <detail xmlns:det="http://reactivity.com/">
                <det:detailmessage>The message was found to be invalid.</det:detailmessage>
             </detail>
          </soap:Fault>
       </soap:Body>
    </soap:Envelope>
    I believe this can be an error of data itself. I am trying to check it with the external partner.
    What do all of you think about it?
    Best Regards,
    Diego.

  • Flash Builder 4.5 SOAP call for images using Base64 Encoding

    I am trying to load some image meta data in a flash builder mobile application by making a SOAP call to .Net service. I am able to test the web service successfully using a .Net console application. However when I make the call from flash builder mobile client I get a null result. What am I doing wrong? Hello everyone -
    Since I last posted an interesting update happened. I tested my  Flex application again, it is calling a Jetty Server that returns a JSON object, in different BROWSERS.  I disabled HTTPS for now, and the crossdomain.xml policy file is wide open for testing (ie. allowing every request to return data). So the app accessing the data using HTTP only. Browsers  -  IE, Opera, Firefox and Chrome. Each browser contained the SAME application, revision of the Flash Player (10.3.183.10 debugger for firefox, chrome, opera, safari PC; 11.0.1.129 consumer version in IE9,) take a look at the screen shot (safari not shown although the result was the same as IE and chrome)
    Note that Opera and Firefox returned successful values (i.e. successful JSON objects) using the same code generated from the Data Services Wizard. Chrome, IE and, Safari failed with an Internal error. So I am left wondering - WHY? Is it something with the Flash Player? the Browsers?  the Flex SDK? Any thoughts are appreciated. Again, the code is found in the original thread above.

  • Mapping SOAP Fault during synchronous SOAP call

    We are building a mediated service scenario where PI is brokering a synchronous SOAP call, without changing any of the information being sent or received (the mappings use the same source and target data types with no transformations).  When the service is successfully executed everything works as expected, but when the target service returns a SOAP fault, PI appears to be wrapping the fault in a separate fault before returning it to the client.  Why is this happening?  Is there a way to simply return the SOAP fault to the client without adding the additional wrapper?
    Here is the fault received from the target service when called directly:
    <soapenv:Envelope xmlns:soapenv="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/" xmlns:soapenc="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/encoding/" xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema" xmlns:xsi="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema-instance">
       <soapenv:Header/>
       <soapenv:Body>
          <soapenv:Fault>
             <faultcode>Missing_Required_Data</faultcode>
             <faultstring>**Required data is invalid : Dealer Country**</faultstring>
          </soapenv:Fault>
       </soapenv:Body>
    </soapenv:Envelope>
    Here is the fault received from the mediated PI service call:
    <SOAP:Envelope xmlns:SOAP="http://schemas.xmlsoap.org/soap/envelope/">
       <SOAP:Body>
          <SOAP:Fault>
             <faultcode>SOAP:Server</faultcode>
             <faultstring>Server Error</faultstring>
             <detail>
                <s:SystemError xmlns:s="http://sap.com/xi/WebService/xi2.0">
                   <context>XIAdapter</context>
                   <code>ADAPTER.JAVA_EXCEPTION</code>
                   <text>com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: XIAdapterFramework:GENERAL:com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: SOAP: response message contains an error XIAdapter/PARSING/ADAPTER.SOAP_EXCEPTION - soap fault: **Required data is invalid : Dealer Country**
         at com.sap.aii.adapter.soap.ejb.XISOAPAdapterBean.process(XISOAPAdapterBean.java:1161)
         at sun.reflect.GeneratedMethodAccessor948.invoke(Unknown Source)
                </s:SystemError>
             </detail>
          </SOAP:Fault>
       </SOAP:Body>
    </SOAP:Envelope>
    Why aren't they the same?

    are diferents coz the first is a fault message and the second is a exception message.
    to send back the fault message define a fault message for both structure and map them in a new message mapping. later in the operation mapping or interface mapping  (depends of the pi version) under fault message or fault mappinng (i dont remember) tab assisg the fault message mapping.
    thats all you need.
