SOAP Request to "XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet" or"sap/xi/engine?type=entry"

Hi,
I created a webservice whichs creates an idoc from an orders05 xml file.
I created a wsdl file and try it out with xml spy. It works fine.
However I have a question.
If I send the SOAP Request to:
http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=PARTY:PARTY_Application:CC_PARTY_Application_SOAP_SND
its working fine.
If I send the SOAP Request to:
http://host:port/sap/xi/engine?type=entry?channel=PARTY:PARTY_Application:CC_PARTY_Application_SOAP_SND
it is not working.
In the second case I can see my message in the monitor and I found my orders05 xml in the payload. However the message has no information about the sender, the application and the communication channel. So I got a lot of errors.
I thought that both are url are doing the same with soap requests, the first is the adapter engine j2ee port and the other the abap stack http port.
Could someone explain the differences to me and why the information is lost when using the abap port?
Many thanks,
Nils Kloth

Hi,
In the 2. case I think there shoudnt be two question marks.
Shouldnt it be like this:
Hope it helps (Please inform if it works)
Regards,
Arman

  • Differences between /sap/xi/adapter_plain and /sap/xi/engine

    Hello there,
Does anybody know the difference between requesting a webService to "/sap/xi/adapter_plain..." and "/sap/xi/engine..." ?
Thanks very much in advance, Raúl.

    Hi Raul,
    >Does anybody know the difference between requesting >a webService to "/sap/xi/adapter_plain..." >and "/sap/xi/engine..." ?
You wont request a webservice to the above URLs.
sap/xi/adapter_plain, this URL stands for HTTPAdapter on Sender side. So you can send some HTTP request to this URL.
/sap/xi/engine, this is PIPELINE URL of XI server. You can also directly post data to this URL.
Adapters on sender mode post the data to this URL once it forms message in XI format.
    Thanks

    Hi ,
copy the same URL  (Endpoint that you had given while generating wsdl file) to the browser and chek the status. ( http://host:port/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=party:service:channel)
See the below URL for the same i.e. SOAP adapter...http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fc/5ad93f130f9215e10000000a155106/content.htm
You should get response something like this '

  • SOAP- XI- RFC , while posting soap request thru SPY , getting exception,

    Hello friends,
I am trying <b>SOAP->XI->RFC</b> scenario. would like to explain in brief about requirement then <b>let me know if this is correct approach</b>
<i>Our client wants a pull approach from R/3 , for example lets say he wants to get Material Master data from R/3.
So he will send a SOAP request with the material number and r/3 should return back the details.</i>
<b>So we have decided to go with SOAP->XI->RFC approach
That means a sender SOAP Adapter and a receiver RFC adapter,</b>
I have done all the designing, like creating my own DataType,MessagType all interfaces etc.
then i created a Bussiness system of type third party with host name as XI host name to use for sender, and a business system of type Web As ABAP and used one of the R/3 as receiver system.
Doubts: Once i created Soap channel in my sender businees system(where Interface name i gave my Message Interface name and its Namespace), and the receiver channel in my another bussiness system, i created the entire scenario using Configuration Wizard.
    NOW THE PROBLEM STARTS.
After clicking Define Web Service , it asks for URL
    i gave following url
    http://ps3181:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=TPBS_Rohit:soapChannel
TPBS_Rohit is my Sender (third party bussiness system name), and soapChannel is the channel under it.
<b>tell me if this is right</b>
Then in the Message Interface i selected my Message Interface name that i had created in Design for publishing.
    <u><b>MAJOR DOUBT</b></u>
    <b>It Asks for
    Service :
    Interface Name :
    Interface NameSpace :
    what do i give here.</b>
this is what i have given
Service : TPBS_Rohit, Sender (third party bussiness system name)
Interface Name : MI_SOAP <again the same message interface name that i have published earlier>
    Interface NameSpace : same namespace.
    AM i right ???
I am sure somthing is wrong since when i tried sending a SOAP request using XML SPY , this is what i get.

  • PI 7.0 - Error HTTP 401 when calling XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet

    Hi experts,
I am trying to call a web service, published from our XI system. (SAP PI 7.0 SP 15).
I generated the Web Service & saved the WSDL successfully from Integration Directory.
The whole scenario is well designed and configured, because it had been working well for some time.
I am using XMLSpy to send a request (something that have been working well) but now, we are unable to log on to the system.
It doesnt matter with which user we try to log on. Its simply not possible. It raises a HTTP 401 ERROR.
The configuration channel SOAP SENDER is configured like this.
    - SOAP - SENDER
    - Transport Protocol HTTP
    - HTTP Security Level : HTTP
    - QOF - BEST EFFORT.
    Another symptom
when i call the service http://<host>:<50nn00>/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet (on DEV system) it doesnt work.
    "401   Unauthorized
      Cannot authenticate the user.
      Details:   No details available"
when i call the same service (but on QA system) it works well.
(the calls from XMLSpy work fine, and the interface executes well)
Message Servlet is in Status OK
    Status information:
    Servlet com.sap.aii.af.mp.soap.web.MessageServlet (Version $Id: //tc/xi/NW04S_14_REL/src/_adapters/_soap/java/com/sap/aii/af/mp/soap/web/MessageServlet.java#1 $) bound to /MessageServlet

I will appreciate if you could give me some advice, which configuration i need to check, or any usefull information.
    Thanks!
    Cristian.

Hi Supriya, thanks for your reply.
I ve tryed with my user, which is not locked, and also with other users, none of them locke. With SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW profiles. And it didnt work.
The url is something like that.
    for DEV:
    http://myhost:50000/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet
    for QA:
    http://myhost:50200/XISOAPAdapter/MessageServlet
Since DEV and QA instances are on the same server.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Check whether your payload message which you are passing in HTTP Client tool is correct or not, try to copy the payload from Integration Repository while testing your mapping program.
Also check the Integration Engine Configuration runtime parameters,
Open Transaction SXMB_ADM -> Integration Engine Configuration -> Change Specific Configuration
Check the values of below given parameters for runtime category, these values must be maintained:
    LOGGING, LOGGING_SYNC, LOGGING_PROPAGATION, TRACE_LEVEL and TRACE_LEVEL_PROPAGATION.
Look into this thread ... it seems something similar with your problem.
Payload of SOAP-Message cannot be read Try these solutions.

  • SOAP request error

    Dear XI Expertise,
    I am doing a scenario on SOAP>XI>System.....
First thing my SOAP Adapter is not enabled when I see in the RWB-->Adapter Monitoring
For this I searched the forum and followed almost all the blogs.......but could not find a solution......
Especially in one blog thread I found one person has faced & been solved the same problem which I am facing. But for me it is not working......
Here is the URL for that one...
how can i enable SOAP Adapter?
"In almost all the blogs, I found a solution given by some experts that when we send our first SOAP message, it will be automatically activated". But for me this is also not working.........
I designed and configured my scenario in IR & ID and created a WSDL file for my outbound interface. Actually I created outbound interface from external definition (WSDL) which I got from EP side.....
I used XML spy and created a "new SOAP request" from WSDL file which I generated from ID and given proper input in that message and sent the request.
When I sent the request I got the following error message(dialog box)....
HTTP error could not POST File
    ‘/XlSOAPAdapter/MessageServlet?channel=:LEGACYSYS_PRA_BS:WS_Sender&amp;version=3.O&amp;Sender.Service=LEGACYSYS_PRA_BS&amp;lnterIace=ns%3%2F%2Ffx.com%2Farchana%2Fwstorfc%5EPR_Out_MI’ on server ‘bcone-prd'(500).
when I click ok, In the next dialog box I got this message
    "Error sending the SOAP data"
    Please help me out............
    Advance Thanks
    Praveen Gujjeti

    Praveen ,
May I suggest a workaround till your SOAP adapter issue is not reolved?
There are 2 URL's to which a SOAP message can be posted.
    1. You post it to the Adaptee Engine and the SOAP adapter then sends it to the Integration Engine.
    2. You post the message to the Integration Engine directly.
The url you are now using is pointing to 1.
Recreate the WSDL with the following URL-->
    <b>http://<server>:<ABAP-port>/sap/xi/engine?type=entry&version=3.0&Sender.Service=<YourService>&Interface=<YourNamespace>%5E<YourInterface></b>
Click on Propose URL while defining the WSDL. More is on this blog,
    /people/stefan.grube/blog/2006/09/21/using-the-soap-inbound-channel-of-the-integration-engine
Let me know if it solves the problem partially?

  • Sending SOAP request from XI and writing a scheduler for this

    Dear XI Experts,
    My scenario is as follows.
    We have two landscapes
    1)     XI, R/3
    2)     Client System(Remote, Other than SAP)
Now we have to pull the data from client system using WSDL (There will be one method for pulling the data in the WSDL file). The WSDL is provided by the client. We are importing that WSDL as external definition in Integration Repository and implementing the scenario “SOAP to XI to RFC” and configuring it Integration Directory.
Remember the client will not send the data to XI. Only we have to pull the data as mentioned above.
    Problems:-
    (i)     How to send SOAP request to the client using XI only?
(ii)     How to write a scheduler for this?
    please help us.
    Thanks...
    Praveen Gujjeti

    Ur Suggestion
"My proposition looks like that. in R/3 you have scheduled RFC call in some program. This RFC calls XI and XI is calling using SOAP adapter your client. Then response go back to your RFC and you can handle this data."
As you mentioned, I am not scheduling any RFC call in R/3. If you go through my first query u can find two points where I am having some doubts......
How to send SOAP request to the client using XI only? Is it possible to send a SOAP request from XI?
    If so,
(ii) How to write a scheduler for this? So that it will invoke the webservice and get the data from client application(system)

  • Web Service posting via SOAP.request - Security settings prevent access...

I'm trying to call a web service via the SOAP.request object in javascript embedded into my Interactive Form.  I've successfully done this with SAP NetWeaver 7.0 trial version however now I'm having this issue on a production setup.  The PDF generates fine and I can fill out the form and everything.  I checked the properties of both PDF documents (one that works from the trial and one that doesn't from the prod box) and they are the same, expect the one that works is PDF Version 1.6, and the one that doesn't is PDF Version 1.7.
    Here's the client-side error:
Acrobat EScript Built-in Functions Version 8.0
Acrobat Annotations / Collaboration Built-in Functions Version 8.0
Acrobat Annotations / Collaboration Built-in Wizard Functions Version 8.0
    Acrobat Multimedia Version 8.0
    Acrobat SOAP 8.0
NotAllowedError: Security settings prevent access to this property or method.

Here's the snippet of JavaScript code:
    var response = SOAP.request();
Here are the security properties of the malfunctioning PDF:

How do I determine what the culprit is?

    Michael,
PDF Version 1.6 means Adobe Reader 7.0.x family and PDF version 1.7 means Adobe Reader 8.0.x or 9.0.x if I am not wrong.
Also if you check LiveCycle Designer Help (Using LiveCycle Designer ES > Working with Data Sources > About data sources > Working with data connections) it clearly says that with LiveCycle Designer 8.0 secured web services are not supported and there are additional security settings for Reader 8.0 onwards, that may be causing the issue.
