Social feeds for os6

Hi everyone
I have a curve 9300 on orange uk & have upgraded to os6 v6.0.0.448.
On the social feeds app I cannot get facebook or twitter, the only social feeds are google, aim, myspace, yahoo & windows live.
Is it possible to get the apps I want as I don't use any of these others?
Many thanks.

yes it is possible. When you are in the social feeds application, open the menu and go to the options.
You will be able to select the type of Instant Messenger you wish (I have removed AIM and MySpace for example) and add other ones (I have added FB and Twitter for example).

ttexidor, please read this thread http://supportforums.blackberry.com/t5/BlackBerry-Bold/Battery-Drain/m-p/1202765/highlight/true#M811...
There 's some information that might help you.
Also, it is not unusual for battery drain to occur when using a new OS on the device. It should become more normal after a few days. Info about that in the thread also.

  • Duplicate social feed notifications - BB OS6

I just installed Blackberry OS6 on my Verizon Bold 9650 and enjoy using the social feeds app but I keep getting duplicate notifications in my feeds list that I cannot delete.
I will sometimes get two new facebook/twitter feed notifications and one of them will delete but the other won't.
I have tried re-installing social feed, facebook, and  twitter apps...any other ideas?
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I think I may have found a way to fix this.
If you are showing duplicate social feeds notifications (including ones that will not delete), restart your phone. When it comes back up, do not delete or open the social feeds notifications, leave them as unread and then restart your phone again. Once it's restarted a second time, you should be able to delete all notifications. From then on, you shouldn't have a problem with any duplicate notifications.
    Hope this helps...

  • Social Feeds 2.0 app not loading?

    Hi
I recently started using Social Feeds and have noticed a few things about. It seems that it is having issue notifying me of new alerts unless I refresh manually. Another thing I've noticed is FB will notify in alert panel instead of Social Feeds. Its a great idea so hope they fix these bugs.
I'd love to see the app integrated into address book app so we could look up contact card & under recent activity it could display status updates similar to plans for native calendar and contact native apps on BB Playbook
    Thanx in advance
    Harold

  • Social feeds app...

I have integrated BBM, Facebook, and Twitter to Social Feeds. I love the app, but really don't like how I get updates every 5 minutes from FB and twitter (not an avid BBM user). Aside from that, I also get updates from the twitter and facebook apps themselves (along with Social Feeds). I'm all about battery power and my phone usually lasts around 4 days with push notifications set to each hour and now it lasts 2 days from all the push. Is there a way to stop notifications from the twitter and Facebook apps so I only get updates to Social Feeds every hour?

    Hello,
    Unfortunately there is not.
    Thank you

  • Social Feed on Apps being run from Home Screen on KDL65w850c (Android TV)

Hi all I've recently bought a Sony kdl65w850c, which runs on an Android platform. I love the Social feeds when I'm watching free to air or cable TV, however is there a way I can run these feeds while launching apps from the Home Screen (Netflix, Youtube etc). The feature runs fine when connected to an external device through HDMI, but does not appear to work on the Android TV homescreen?? Any workaround to this? Cheers Rai

    vazandrew,
Thank you for your reply.  I understand this is a user forum.  While Apple may not directly comment in this forum you can be sure they *are* monitoring this forum.  It may be people, it may be software, but they are watching.  The forums are a treasure trove of data about Apple products, how people use them, what's working, not working, etc.  Apple would be a fool to ignore the content in these forum posts.
I do appreciate your trying to help with my issue.  I should have added in my original post that my Apple TV is on a wired GbE connection.  I do use wireless on my home network for mobile devices (iphone, ipad, etc.) but never for permanent/static devices like a computer or Apple TV device.  Wireless can not provide nearly the bandwidth of a wired connection nor the low latency.  I'll take the quality of the wired connection over the convenience of the wireless connection every time.
I've had ISP outages during Apple TV use and never has this caused either the Apple TV to crash nor the app to crash.  When the uplink goes down, the app simply streams what's left in its buffer (usually a few minutes worth of content) and then stops playing while it tries to re-establish a connection to the source.  In my experience the app (any app I happen to be using at the time) has never crashed due to disruption of the WAN uplink.
I just checked the forums a few minutes ago and noticed that another member has just posted on the exact same issue.  You responded to that user too.  This doesn't seem like a network related issue.  I think this is an Apple TV OS bug and I think we're going to see a lot more posts on this issue in the near future unless Apple quickly fixes the problem.
    Regards,
    Griffith

  • "Social Feeds" RSS Reader problems

First of all: Hello BlackBerry Community.
Now to my problem (I hope you an understand it, my englich is not perfect)
I've written a rss feed for my homepage. The BB Social Feed didn't update the feeds / can't find any feeds. Other RSS-Readers can display th feeds without problems.
My Social Feed can also read all other feeds I've tryed, only with my own feed I have this problems.
If I open the rss feed in the BlackBerry Browser, everything is displayed correctly...
    The feed is: http://www.arax.de/rss.xml
This rss feed is checked and validatet by w3c Feed Validation Service (http://validator.w3.org/appc/) and there is no error found.
Have anyone any idea what's going wrong?
Thank you very much for your support.
    Arndt
    UPDATE:
when I try to add feeds in Social Feeds like Add new Feed -> "http://www.arax.de/rss.xml" he finds the feed but displays no content. If I ad it like "www.arax.de" he finds the feed, and displays old stuff (until june).
Because of this, I copied "rss.xml" into the "news" directory and loaded it up in my webspace (now the rss.xml-file is twice on the server, 1. in www.arax.de/rss.xml and in www.arax.de/news/rss.xml
Then I changed in the header of "index.htm" the rss link in <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"
     title="RSS Feed" href="http://www.arax.de/news/rss.xml">
If I open now the Social Feed and search feeds in "www.arax.de" it finds the feed and display it correctly. (it also works if you search "www.arax.de/index.htm"
So I added another file in my webspace, its called "test.htm" and it's the same file like index.htm but in the header I have
    <link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml"  title="RSS Feed" href="http://www.arax.de/rss.xml">
When I search "www.arax.de/test.htm" Social Feeds find the feed, I can ad it but the content, who is displayd is the old content of a file, that didn't exist any more.

Could be the preferences are corrupted ..
Go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.Safari.plist file from the Preferences folder to the Desktop.
Quit then relaunch Safari to test. If that helped, move the .plist file to the Trash.
If that didn't help, go to ~/Library/Preferences
Move the com.apple.Safari.RSS.plist file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac, launch Safari.
    See if that helped.

  • Cant find BlackBerry App World OR Rss Social Feeds

    Hi,
I have Black Berry Bold 9700, with BB OS 5, but i have updated with BB OS 6. everything works fine, and i haven't see any error.
I cannot see anything in application center, when i try to update it gives me a 404 error.
Now i cant find BlackBerry App World and Rss Social Feeds, did someone have this issue?
    Regards,
    JP.

The first thing to do is to look in your Applications list and see if either AppWorld or Social Feeds are there.  (In OS 5, it's Options>Applications from your homescreen.  In OS 6, it's Options>Device>Application Management from your homescreen.)  If they are, delete them both using the menu key and selecting Delete.
Next, plug your phone into your PC and open BlackBerry Desktop Software.  Click Applications in the left column and look for both applications in the list.  If you've deleted both of them as I suggested, there should be a '+' sign beside each.  Click that to add them and click Apply at the bottom of the software.  That will reload both of them to your phone, including icons so you can find them easily.
Let us know if that works for you.
    - If my response has helped you, please click "Options" beside my post and mark it as solved. Clicking the "thumbs up" icon near the bottom of my response would also be appreciated.

  • RSS feeds for Error Queues

We have a requirement to send RSS feeds when ever there is a error message placed in the error queeu. Any inputs on this will be very much useful.

    > Hi,  The RSS feeds for the forums are great.  Any
    > chance of having the same thing for the developer
    > areas?  I'd hate to miss any new materials....
    Hi Kenneth,
RSS feeds for home pages are on the unfortunately long list of improvements. It is high up there.
But if you don't want to miss any materials, then you should check out DevToday, which you find under Services.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/sdn/devnews.sdn?node=linkn2
It shows only the new stuff that came in within the last I think it is 30 days. You can tailor it to your information interests by rating these objects. You can even create a daily or weekly email from it.
Gone is the fear of missing good information, Mark.
P.S. If now only that DevToday page had an RSS feed
P.P.S. Of course it only works if you are logged in, which by the way everyone using SDN should be.

  • Is there a social network for iMessage users?

I do not have any contact on my iMessage and therefore rarely use.
Do not think that would be a funny a sort of portal / social network for Mac users and / or iMessage, where each member would have their profile, where would share photos, their tastes, including your apple id so we can more easily exchange messages between the Mac community and through any device, be it Mac, iPhone, iPod, iPad?

    Hi,
I would think there would be an issue with a place that was listing Apple IDs online.
With Jabber or AIM if someone gets hold of your Screen Name or ID then you can block them in the other services.
I have enough AIM screen names from people who have tested with me to worry about gathering a whole bunch of new ones.
Whether someone has set up a Google Group or similar I am not aware.
