Social Media, Muse & BC Tutorial

Hi there I was wondering if there were any good tutorials on how to intergrate Facebook, G+, Twitter, etc into your Muse BC workflow. I'm specifically interested in Blog to social media posts. i.e. I create a blog posts and it updates to facebook, twitter, G+ etc etc when I post it.

Help with Facebook and Social Media wigets (Was: How do I fix the three probs that...)

I am having problems with the facebook or social media widgets. I would like the link to send viewers to my facebook business page, but when testing it shows my pic and a 'switch' sign (see screen shot) and when I open the site the message is as the other screenshot, great, but I don't know where to find which 'asset' is the problem and why. Also why bother having child pages if the menu doesn't reflect that? I see that drop down menus are an issue, also with some other forum members.
Thanks for any help offered!, I think I have solved the first problem now but still would appreciate any help with the other 2!
For some reason the facebook widget now loads the correct page, and I give up about the drop down menu, hopefully this will be addressed in the next update of Muse??

For the "asset" issue, try locating the asset in the assets panel. It should have an icon like this: http://jingsite.businesscatalyst.com/jing/2013-12-16_0917.png
For the child pages in the menus issue, go to the menu options (by clicking the small blue arrow in the right top corner of the menu), and then change the menu type to "All Pages" instead of "Top Level Pages".

If you're a web developer, then you already know what apps to use.
If you're a designer (like me) then Muse CC is your weapon of choice.
One simple strategy would be to create your web site, include all the articles you want to distribute, then link to each specific article/web page from your pages on Facebook, Twitter, etc.
Unfortunately, there isn't a manual for Muse, so you need to watch videos: http://tv.adobe.com/show/learn-adobe-muse-cc/
YouTube is also your good friend when it comes to learning Muse.

If you want to integrate like and share button of facebook in your ATG application then you can easily use the facebook SDK javascript for this purpose.

Social media button... i'm confused?

This might be stupid question time but when you're building your site and you add a social widget from the Muse library that widget is linked to the temporary URL? When we do actually push our sites live to a proper domain, I assume that all these widgets we automatically switch over to the new page URL... right?
The one I am most confused about is the Facebook comments widget... I have the 'current page' check box marks at the moment.

It's not that I have issues with any of them at the moment. It's just not having ever actually taken a site 'live' I just wanted to know what will happen to the widgets when I do... if that makes sense?
For example, I have several Twitter 'tweet' buttons set to 'current page'... will that current page URL change to its new page URL when I actually send the site 'live' in a few days or will I have to go back into each one and manually update the new URL?
The Facebook comments widget... same question as above?
All together I have over 100 social media widgets throughout the site (many on product pages and blog pages) so it's important I know now.

Social media Icons

Hello,
I am trying to creat social media "follow" buttons that I would like to put on my A master page and have trouble trying to figure out how to link the selected buttons to my social media pages.
Can someone provide a link to a solution? I don't know if I am trying to create a link or a photoshop button? I have selected the icons that I want to appear on every page in my site for users to "follow."
I did not use the Muse widgets because I prefer these icons that I downloaded from the Muse Exchange.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

Yo only need to select each button in Design mode one at a time and use the Hyperlinks dropdown in the Control strip to link to an external website. The following videos may be helpful.

Most of us in this forum are users who volunteer on technical issues, and not Adobe employees although they do drop in from time to time. As users we simply have no control over activation and that's why you are not getting responses.
If you havn't done so,you might try the Muse forums and see if you can get a staff member to look into it. Have your case numbers and phone transcripts handy.
Last option is to keep calling customer service until you get someone who will help or ask for a supervisor.

Embed social media feeds in DPS?

Is there a good overview or tutorial of how I can embed social media feeds into my DPS app? My organization has Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube accounts from which I would love to feature content feeds. I noticed Wired magazine has a page of just their social media (see screenshot) and I want to emulate something like that, but can't seem to find a good overview on how. Any tips would be appreciated!

This is done using HTML. So first you develop your HTML page and then you embed this into your InDesign page using a Web Content overlay option.
It's not always easy to make it work though. You can check out this article by James Lockman that shows you how to embed a Twitter feed:

If I wanted a signature with a logo, I'd create an HTML document containing text and an embedded image. Adding, for example, facebook and twitter icons would be done in just the same way, by embedding their icons into the same HTML signature document.

I need to find out how to contact upeer management to try and resolve an issue before I open a complaint with the Attorney Generals Office as well as the Better Business Bureau and social media.

I have been with Verizon for 15 years. I have a family share plan with 2 smart phones a standard phone and a jetpack for wireless access. I pay for insurance on the 2 smartphones. Approximately a year ago I made a payment arrangement to continue service on my account even though I had some business difficulties. I was told that while the arrangement was in place I could not make any changes to my account. However, since then I have had the following issues and when I try and contact Verizon to try and resolve them I am place on eternal hold or disconnected.
Issue #1: My daughter lost her phone in June 2014. (The contract on this phone was up in 2013) I have been told that I cannot replace the phone even though I pay the insurance premium of $9.95 a month. I have been billed for it and have also been charged $54.87 for the monthly service as well. The phone has not made or received a call since June 4, 2014 yet I have been charged $274.38 I just was able to have the service suspended at the store today, 11/29/2014
Issue #2 My phone has intermittent flaws, locking up and reuring rests, dropping calls, failing to receive calls etc along with horrible battery life. I went into the local verizon store and they ordered me a refurbished replacement phone which was subsequently sent to me. When I received it I took it to the store to have them assist me in setting it up properly. I was told that I should NOT set it up but send it back due to some physical damage present on my old phone that would most likely result in a $150 charge...it was recommended that I just upgrade my phones as they were all out of contract and that would be the best solution. I asked the manager if that would be possible due to the "terms" on my account and she said "it would not be a problem". I was interested in an Iphone 6 which was not in stock so I sent the replacement phone back and left, to wait for the phone to become available.
Issue #3 I had a JetPack that was recently stolen from my car. I stopped in to ask what to do about it (it is no longer under contract either) They suspended the service and recomended I wait until I upgraded my other phones and then get a new Jet Pack. I just received noticed that they were going to continue billing me for it this week, even though it has been out of contract for several months??????
I recently went to Best Buy to take advantage of their Black Friday deals and was told that based on the status of my account I was ineligible for any upgrades. We called Verizon from the Best Buy and they told me that I needed to address my account status (I just made the scheduled payment on the 23rd of Nov) either with Financial Services or go to a Corporate Store. I went to the store and was told there was nothing that could be done at that level, I would need to talk to financial services (which was closed)
So, I am extremely frustrated and upset with this whole situation and wanted to make one more attempt to resolve it with Verizon before I make a full blown complaint to the Attorney Generals Office, the Better Business Bureau as well as post this incredibly BAD customer service story on social media. I hope that I hear from someone ASAP as this is critical that I get things resolved immediately. I can be reached at [removed].

Complain to the Attorney General about what? There is nothing in your story worth any such complaint. They will tell you the same.
First you have payment difficulty so credit and the Edge program are not available to you. You have to be credit worthy to get any upgrade, unless you can pay full price for all those new devices.
Can you?
You are trying to get new contract plans, but since you are having paying on time and in full issues you will not get extended credit from any carrier.
What I would do is go and port out to Boost or Virgin Mobile where you pay a reduced cost for each device and get unlimited everything for $40 to $50 a month, it is pre pay so if you don't pay you get cut off.
Verizon although with the best coverage is also the highest priced.

When I open an article, I scroll the text to keep reading it. Unfortunately, the social media stuff, which was in the left side of the screen, isn't seen anymore. I want this social media stuff to go along with text. An example is the New Yorker's App, whose image is below. Please, let me know how I can manage this using only InDesign. Thank you.

I have created a brochure and would like to post it on Facebook. How do I save a Pages document to jpeg so that I can share on social media and email? Do I have to save it as a jpeg or what other format can I save it in?

In Pages, Print to "PDF > Open PDF in Preview". From Preview, File > Export to the format or your choosing, one page at a time. For text, PNG would be better than JPG.
