Socket A board with 4 mounting holes (around socket)

Does MSI have board like title (or any other manufacturer)? I'm trying to find a good board where Thermaltake Sonic Tower would fit.
There should be some space between PSU and socket too, else Sonic Tower would not fit.

I use a Spire Whisperrock with a fan adapter to use an Adda 120mm fan. You wont hear it, if you have a good case. A fan could be useful when summer comes along.
If you have some money to spend, I think this one could be something to show-off  :

  • Mechanical parts with mounting holes

I have a design that needs a battery holder that is mounted to the board but is wired to the switch in a DC jack and the DC jack is wired to a pin on the PCB. Since the battery holder has no 'pins', Multisim will not let me create a part for it. Consequently whever I forward annotate any changes to the circuit over to Ultiboard it deletes the battery holder and consequently the mounting holes for it. I've created a footprint with the mounting holes (non-plated) and a silkscreen outline so the relative spacing of the mounting holes is always preserved when placing it, otherwise I would just place holes in the PCB in the right places.
Is there a way to create a part in Multisim that has no connections. Or at least create a footprint in Ultiboard that will not get deleted every time I forward annotate changes from Multisim?
I'm using version 10.1 (its what my client uses).

    Hi,
There's a trick on how to do that:
Make your footprint in Ultiboard and give it one pin (TH or SMD) it doesn't matter.
Next make your part in Multisim and give it one pin.
In the symbol editor, make that pin 'zero lenght' and 'internal pin', and make its name 'hidden'
Then both the symbol and the shape in ultiboard have 1 pin.
At the end of the symbol wizard, connect these pins (probably both called pin 1) and save it!
Next step is to ga back to your part in Ultiboard, and edit it.
There you delete the one pin.
When you will put the symbol in the schematic, and annotate it to Ultiboard, you won't get a message.
There will not be a problem...
    Succes!

  • K7T26 Pro2A Mounting Hole Positions

I know this may sound silly but can somebody please tell me if, when installing this motherboard, you only use the six mounting holes on the board (the ones with the silver ring around them).  6 doesnt seem many and it seems to me that the EIDE connections are not supported.  I've looked on upteen web sites and in the manual but all it says is there are 6 holes.  There are some more holes but they seem small and do not match any holes in my case.

If it says there are 6, thats all you get.

  • Mounting hole layer/trace visibility

Hi I am developing a design for a senior design in multisim/ultiboard.  I am trying to place mounting hole on my PCB which i selected from the master library under through hole parts->holes, however when i view the 3D version of my design i do not see the holes go through the board.  I only see an outline of it with a silver pad.  Am I supposed to place the hole on a specific layer like the board outline layer?
I am also laying out a trace that will be used for a button, a picture of an example is attached.  I have layed this trace in my deisn and was wondering if it needed to be done on a specific layer or have some option selected to that it is left visible when manufactured and not covered with the green plastic of the PCB?
    Thanks,

    Ronak,
Holes are not yet implemented in the 3D View. Our rendering engine has yet to support them. However if you check the Gerber exports you will see that they are included. Is the 3D view the one that is not including them.
On your second question... make your Soldermask layer active (top I would guess) and place the exact shape that you want to leave clear of soldermask on top of this trace. Objects that you see as the color of the soldermask layer will not have the green mask on it.

  • Square or round mounting holes for xserve?

I am preparing to install my first xserve in a new colo facility, and they are asking whether I want round or square mounting holes. It is a four-rail style cabinet, not a telco style. Anyone know which I should ask for?
    Thanks,
    Carl

If you are going to mount many XServes in the same rack, I would be wary of the cage nuts provided in the XServe packaging. Our experience has shown that if you fully populate a rack with the XServe hardware, by the time you fully populate the racks, the cage nuts will allow the servers to "sag" and put a lot of pressure on the lower servers. What this does is effectively lock the nodes in their chassis and you will be unable to remove them for servicing.
A comprimise has been to utilize the Apple hardware for the rear rails and use the OEM (cabinet manufacturer) equipment for the front rails. This configuration will allow for all nodes in the stack to slide freely in their enclosures.

  • Replace 1.2GHz iBook G4 14" Logic Board with 1.42GHz?

    Hi everybody!
I have an almost 2 years old iBook G4 14" 1.2GHz. Or better said - had. The logic board died some weeks ago.
My main point here is to find out if I can replace the faulty Logic Board with something faster, i.e. 1.33 or 1.42 GHz. I have heard some rummours that the cooling systems are a bit different and I am affraid that a faster Logic Board won't fit.
Any suggestions? I would appreciate all comments on the topic.
I also wonder if anybody else has seen the same Logic Board problem. Strangely enough, it shows the symptoms of a dead fan, even though the cooling system is passive, i.e. whe the computer is cool it may even boot the system and let me log in, while when it's already warm, it dies in the middle of the startup.
If I boot the machine in target disk mode, it may run for days. Sometimes though, it may show some video problems: after being operational for some time, the FireWire symbol may freeze. I've noticed, that if I bend the bottom of the iBook a bit the symbol may start going again. Sometimes the display may go completely black. If, in that case, I bend the bottom a bit, a strange video-check-like sequence starts, i.e. going through black, white, red, green, blue and some patterns. At the end of the sequence the FireWire image may be restored.
I have checked all detachable components, i.e. extra RAM and AirPort and I am sure that they work perfectly. It is also worth noting, that the laptop may work several days in single user mode.
Thanks in advance for all comments!
    Ventzi

Well, that's exactly what I thought first, but we are talking about an iBook here. That meens, that the 'video card' is actually only a chip soldered on the logic board and the fan turns on only when the computer has reached around 65-70°C.
And I cannot say that it boots OS X...
If the laptop is cold, i.e. has been off for a while, it may boot as far as the login screen. If I then log in, it will halt while still loading the menus.
If the laptop is already warm, e.g. booting it for a second time, it won't even get to the login screen. Usually it halts right after changing the grey screen to a blue one.
And this is NOT a software problem – I experience the same behaviour when booting from the installation DVD.
Interestingly engough, though, the laptop can run for days without any problems if started in single user mode (the text interface) or in target disk mode...
I've taken it all apart and I am certain, that the preriferal devices work.
About the AHT. If the computer is cold, the Extended AHT will pass without any problems. I the computer is warm, on the other hand, AHT will either not load at all, or will halt at some point without any error message...
    Thanks for the help!
I hope that we can resolve this issue.

  • How do I use AT-A2150 board with LV 5.1 ?

    Hi,
I'm trying to find a way of using my old AT-A2150 board with labview 5.1.
I followed some posting tips from NI knowledgeBase (1JACI8U3 and 1JO8TB2O
    ) and installed NI-DAQ 4.9.
The only problem is that now I'm getting broken arrows on my DAQ VIs. My
    platform is Windows NT 4.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Use a Mini DisplayPort adapter for that monitor type.

  • Can we replace an old serial board with a new one found available on your site?

So.. we are using Lookout 5.0 to operate a plant, and we have a PCI SERIAL RS 232/485 ISOLATED 2 PORTS board, with the code 185726C-02 printed on that board, which is used to comunicate with some solenoids modules. I search your site for a replacement for that board, and I found the PCI-8433/2 board which seems to be compatible. Question: is it ok to use this board instead the old one with Lookout 5 if we update the NI SERIAL drivers from your site?
    Thanks in advance ..

Make sure the site folder created by iWeb is named exactly the same as the site folder currently on the server.

  • I needed a 2tb hard drive for my new iMac whats the best to work with time machine for around £100

Any suggestions about the best 2 tb hard drive to work with my imac, compatible with time machine for around £100

There is no such thing as "best" and "inexpensive", you either want one or the other but you cannot get both. IMHO I'd recommend OWC's Mercury Elite Pro (www.macsales.com) however because  you are on the other side of the pond you may want to consider a Lacie product. High quality, not cheap but good stuff for the most part.

  • My screen dims and shrinks with a blue outline around the window.  It won't let me do anything unless it goes back to normal, but it won't stay that way for long.  What is wrong and how do I fix it?

When I start up my screen will rapidly shrink to a smaller size with a blue border around the window.  It rapidly goes from full screen to this smaller screen with the blue border and back again.  It seems to be affected by the use of the mouse.  My mouse was old so I bought a new one....didn't help.  When I have to tabs or two applications open they seperate, shrink, and appear simultaniously on the screen.  This just started happening.

  • After importing pictures they became grey with doted white line around

I have imported pictures (RAW CR2 format) from my camera hundreds of times and they all went well. But this time the only the import worked well (I saw the preview when each picture was imported). Then Iphoto asked if i would like to delete the pictures on the camera after import. I deleted them. But then when I should take a look at the pictures they were grey with doted white lines around all of them. When I chose a picture and check the properties I can see that the pictures use normal space. I tried to drag one picture to a directory in the finder but this didn´t work either. The export doesn't work either. When I scroll fast among the pictures I can see them for a short period but when I stop scrolling they will turn grey with doted white line around. Whats wrong? and how to solve?
    system: iPhoto11 and Lion.

The ! turns up when iPhoto loses the connection between the thumbnail in the iPhoto Window and the file it represents.
    Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Rebuild iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one. .
