    It is safe. Do not have to worry about it.

  • Just got a new IPAD3, straight out of the box, but I cant charge it, I have tried with the power plug and cable out of the box but no joy, i have tried resetting the iPad but still no joy, have tried different plug sockets, different plugs/cables, help

    Just got a new IPAD3, straight out of the box, but I cant charge it, I have tried with the power plug and cable out of the box that came with it but no joy, i have tried resetting the iPad but still no joy, have tried different mains plug sockets around the house with no joy, I have tried different USB mains plugs but again no joy, I tried using my new iPad cable into the USB port of my MacBook Pro laptop but still no joy, then, I tried using my old iPod classic cable into my MacBook Pro and that worked, so I have a way of charging my new iPad3 but its not practical as i have to take my MacBook Pro everywhere if I want to charge it which kind of defeats the object of having an iPad, has anybody experienced anything similar and how was it fixed? can anybody help me please...

    Grumpy Gator,
    Please note it did say at the store's discretion, but people have actually been able to return it to the on-line store. (I only saw a couple who tried.)
    And given the outcry, I would think Apple might have other Apple stores join in. Just in case, though, if you can, you might bring it in today.
    If it's an ARS, my guess is they can stick to their 14 day return. Apple cannot force them to do it. SO if it's not bought directly from Apple, and it's past the 14 day deal, I'd bring it in to the store today if you have one. When I gave people the cnet.com site, I gave it so people could read it and know only Apple had made the decision for Apple. And I suggested to some that an Apple reseller would probably stick with their own return policy.
    Because Arnie had just bought his, he should be able to return it to Apple or an ARS because an ARS has to have some kind of full refund or at least return for credit within 7 or 14 days of purchase.
    Hope this helps.

  • Tv aerial socket in another room - help!

    I have set up my BT broadband Hub OK and have broadband........but now struggling with the TV vision box.  I've realised it may be because my tv aerial socket is in another room!!! and my tv donated by a friend has no aeriel cable with it.
    I assume i have to connect the vision box to this aerial socket, so i need to buy an aerial.  Will i have to buy a really really long one and trail it through the house or is there a way to overcome this.
    Any advice gratefully accepted - i am not technical and have no idea what to do or where to go
    Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

    If you want to be able to watch and record Freeview TV channels then you are going to need a good external aerial to get a reliable signal. This will have to be connected to the aerial input of the BT Vision box.
    If you just want to watch "on demand" content from BT Vision, then an aerial is not really needed.
    Your TV will need to be connected to the BT Vision box via a SCART or HDMI connection.

  • Socket Connection - Character Set - Help

    Hello:
    I am creating a socket using UTL_TCP package. After making a successful connection, I have to send data in ISO-8859 format. The message should look something like this.
    STX followed by data in ascii followed by ETX.
    STX and ETX are ascii for 2 and 3.
    I have the data in STRING. example 'DOWNLAOD ME TO THE SERVER'. This string is currently in VARCHAR2 variable.
    I would like to know how can I convert the above data to ASCII string and then prefix it with STX and suffix with ETX before I send it down the socket. I think I have to use utl_encode package but am not sure where to start.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Do not understand your problem. It seems to me that you simply need to create a varchar2 string that contains the ASCII text you want to transmit via TCP using the socket connection you have creared, using the API call UTL_TCP.WRITE_LINE (write string without a TCP linefeed char) or UTL_TCP.WRITE_LINE (with linefeed).

  • Memory cleaning help

    hi i just whant to ask should i use memory cleaning and how many time a week and is clearing your event log good because it helps to make my blackberry faster

    memory cleaning does not do what most think it does it acts only on empty memory areas wiping them over and over again to get them totally clean it does not function like a PC hard drive defrag for most people memory cleaning slows their system down rather than provide any benifit clearing event logs can be good but how often cannot be stated as "normal" since "normal" depends on the unique circumstances of the individual you must experiement with how frequent works best for you good luck

  • Socket Closed error please help us finding a fix for the same

    Hi everyone,
    I have a web application deployed on Weblogic 10.3.4.0. In the application there is hyperlink to download a resouce (say an PDF document). Upon clicking the link, IE shows the Open/Save/Cancel dialog box. If the Open/Save/Cancel dialog box is not acted upon by the user within 1 min after it pops up, Weblogic is closing the socket. This causes IE to only download a part of the file say 784 KB or something. Whereas the entire file maybe 1MB in size. Please help in fixing this issue ASAP.
    Thanks in Advance

    What do you mean by "moo" ?
    Huh? You don't know about the moo? Are you livin' in a barn or sumthin'
    Sorry, corny joke.
    Seriously--if you haven't heard about the moo, then check out the MacBook forums. Nearly every third or fourth post is about the mooing problem.
    My own MacBook moos, but it's not so bad that it makes me upset. I understand, though, that others have it much worse.
    Black Macbook; Mini 1.5GHz (Late 2005); Mini 1.4GHz; PB G4 1GHz; PB Lombard; PB 2400; PMac G3; Blueberry iMac; iPod nano 4GB; and a talking Bill King bobblehead doll--Holy Toledo!

    The problem I am havin is that the listener class i have to deal with connections will creates a new socket for each connection but it says it is using the same port as the listening ServerSocket is in the case 4444. Here is the code for my Listener. Any help is greatly appreciated.
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.util.*;
    public class Listener implements Runnable {
      public void run () {
      try{
      listen();
    }catch(Exception e){
    System.out.println("Error in listener:"+e );
      public static void listen() throws IOException{
        int port = 4444;
        ServerSocket server = new ServerSocket (port);
        try{
        System.out.println("Listening...");
             while (true) {
             System.out.println("Listening....");
             Socket client = server.accept ();
             System.out.println ("Accepted from " + client.getInetAddress ());
             System.out.println("Using port:"+ client.getLocalPort());
             System.out.println("server Socket listening on port:"+server.getLocalPort());
             ChatHandler handler = new ChatHandler (client);
             handler.start ();
      }catch (IOException ex){
      System.out.println("Error in listener"+ex);
    }

    I am under the impression that this is not true a
    port cannot be used by more than one socket as this
    woould cause an exception of some kind, No ??
    (Although saying that i do not get any exceptions )Sir,
    No. And you have the proof. You cannot bind for listening on more than one socket. But once a socket is created it is unique even though the one port on the server side is shared among multiple sockets.
    Sincerely,
    Slappy

  • MacBook bottom cleaning HELP??

    Hi,
    I have the new MacBook with the rubber bottom. A few days after buying it, I notice it gets very dirty often. Some of the stains just won't go. I need help on how to clean it properly. Anyone know how?

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3226
    "The bottom case of the MacBook uses a soft nonslip material. Use a 3M Gray Microfiber or soft dye-free, lint-free cloth to clean the bottom case.
    It is safe to use isopropyl alcohol 70% or iKlear on the bottom case. Remove any surface dirt gently with your bare hand before proceeding with a cleaner and cloth. After cleaning, dry the bottom case with a soft, lint-free or micro fiber cloth."
    Generally, just apply the same rules as to any other electronic item. Avoid water and avoid paper or cotton to clean it (the mini powder they generate can penetrate the case), use mini-cloth like the ones for glasses. For the product itself it depends if your case is alluminium or plastic but in any AppleStore or Eletronic retailer you'll find specific cleaning products.

  • Cleaning- HELP!

    After cleaning a stain from my macbook there is the mark of where I have tried to rub it off ,which isn't coming of. How do I clean this?

    Hi emz815,
    If the mark is more of surface wear off, then you out of luck since the wear off surface cannot be cleaned anymore.
    But if it only a hard to erase smudge you might have luck using apple recommended cleaning solvent.
    Good Luck.

  • Normal sockets vs Datagram PLZ help

    Everybody talks about packets when talking about protocols and standards. Like: Server send packet with this in it and then you send a packet with that in it.... Can I connect to such server with normal socket and not datagram one? Can I connect to HTML server with normal stram socket? I mean, I every description of how server and clients communicate that I've found so far developers are desribing packets. So can it connect with normal streaming socket to anything else than other Java applications running server?

    With Java, you never have to worry about packets. The Socket and TCP/IP layer of the computer handles all of that stuff for you. The only thing you have to deal with is the input and output streams, which just send bytes back and forth. Most of the time, you can be sure that when you send a bunch of bytes with a socket, the computer on the other probably recieved them, and in the same order as you sent them. Thus is the magic of TCP.
    You can use a Socket object to connect to any server, on any port, using any protocol, as long as it accepts TCP connections.
    Datagrams are another thing entirely. They model discreet messages rather than the continuous communication of a TCP Socket. Think about the difference between a telephone call (Socket) and sending something in the mail (Datagram).

  • Diskpart Clean: help

    I am installing Windows 8.1 Pro from a USB drive.
    I am in the set up tool just past the product key, it then asks simple or advanced install and I selected install.
    I enter Shift + f10 to go into the command prompt.
    And I key in:
    Select Disk 0 (that is the only disk)
    CLEAN
    CREATE PARTITION PRIMARY
    FORMAT FS=NTFS
    ACTIVE
    EXIT
    Then I go back to the install setup GUI, and I select Disk 0 and when I click on next, the setup wizard gives me the error message "Cannot locate Partition"
    Any idea on what commands I need to perform to prep my disk so that Windows can continue with the install?
    Thank you

    Hi Jwconk,
    I did not find anything wrong from your command. Try using following sample.
    Select Disk 0
    Clean
    Create Partition Primary Size=
    Active
    Format fs=ntfs quick
    assign letter=c:
    Exit
