Softpaq number sp70271 version F.app bios update failed

I tried to do a HP update but got a message softpaq number sp70271 version F.34Ap1Bios update intel processor Failed a reboot is required to complete instalation . How and what does this mean please , and do i need to worry . This is my 5th HP notebook 15 that has had a random beep , i have read of another chap whom is on his second notebook with the same problem , so im concerned its because of this failed update , surely 7x HP NOTEBOOKS from two people have faulty units , can we ? , any help would be appreciated thanks gerry

I have the same problem! It looks as though the HP people who update Support Assistant have got ahead of themselves and advise an update which is not yet on the support site (F33xx being the only update for the BIOS aailable there). The 'new' one being F34xx.
Seems like HP need to get themelves sorted out!

  • System BIOS update failed

    Hello,
I need your help.  I ran HP System Diagnostics following recent BSOD incidents (about 3) on my Pavilion dv6.  I ran all the tests successfully except Memory Test as it takes 6 hours (approximately).
Interestingly the BIOS test came up with an error message "The System BIOS update failed. Failed reading BIOS image file".  I tried running BIOS driver update from th HP website for my dv6 notebook but I am not sure it worked.  During the update the computer would shut down - is that normal?
What can I do to check that my BIOS from 25 January 2013 is the current version? More importantly prevent future BSOD appearing.  I have plenty of memory, so rather intrigued.  Ran Norton and Microsoft Security and no viruses etc.
    Hope you can help.
    Many thanks,
    Barbs

    Hi,
So the system shut down is normal for BIOS update and if I can restart the computer, therefore assuming the update worked.
I checked HP System Diagnostics the BIOS test still returns with an error message "The System BIOS update failed. Failed reading BIOS image file".
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks again,

  • How to keep old versions of apps before updating

I may want to retain the old version of some of my apps. On my Mac whenever I download updates to software, I always keep the installers for the old versions, just in case. However on iOS, when you download an update, it unceremoniously erases your old version, which has caused me to lose data in some cases!
I noticed that in iTunes, "Transfer Purchases" moves the current .IPA files to your Mac. I've also noticed that when you "Transfer Purchases" again, the new versions replace the old versions, which get moved into the Trash (but not fully deleted yet). I've started keeping folders of old versions of apps. You can then manually put those older versions back into the proper folder and resync them to the iPhone if you liked the old version better
I wish the iOS let you roll back to the old version of the app, in case the new version breaks something (like Time Machine for iOS). I think I'm going to write a letter to Apple

That is correct Dancingjewel.  Migrating/transferring/copying Adobe applications is not supported and often leads to unexpected behavior.  To resolve this you will want to attempt to completely remove the current installations utilizing the CC Cleaner Tool and then reinstall.  If you need a fresh copy of the installation files they are available at Other downloads.

  • Satellite A205-S4629 BIOS Update Fail - File has different BIOS part number

I have used the Toshiba support download page to identify my model A205-S4629 Satellite laptop and downloaded the following BIOS update utility sa200f0v520.exe.
After building the IOS install disk and running the Phoenix Phlash16 utility I get the following message "File has different BIOS part number".
The utility is using the following image file MW10M520.ROM.
    Any input is appreciated,
    Thanks,

    Hi
As far as I know the BIOS package downloaded from the Toshiba US driver page contains the WinRAR 32-bit self-extracting ZIP file which includes both Windows-based and diskette based BIOS update installation options.
Did you try to update the BIOS using Win-based BIOS?
    What OS do you use?

  • Pavilion g6-2235us bios update failed - error msg on boot

I've had trouble updating to Windows 8.1, so I did a bios update, as recommended by the HP Web Site, but it failed, and now the laptop won't boot.  It displays error message "Your computer needs to be repaired:\bcd, error code 0xc0000034..."  Additional info is available by hitting escape, and I can get into a black screen with options:
    f1 System information
    f2 System diagnostics
    f9 Boot device options
    f10 BIOS setup
    f11 system recovery
I've been down all those paths, with no luck on proceeding any further.  f10 shows me all the bios setup screens and the bios version shown is F29, the version that I tried to upgrade to.
I've tried removing the big battery and pressing the start button for one minute - no joy.
    I've tried holding Windows+B+start - no joy
I guess I'm down to trying to create a USB Key with the BIOS on it, and that's where I am stumped.  The BIOS softpaq for this machine is sp66880.exe.  I've got that on a fat32 usb stick with the volume label HP_Tools,  and I've got HP tools on the stick too.  When I try to boot with the stick by pressing windows+b+start, the light on the USB stick flashes a lot, but ultimately I get the message "The system bios recovery failed. Unable to open bios image file."  I have the feeling that I just don't have the proper setup on that USB stick.  I tried to run sp66880.exe on another computer, but it tells me that it is going to immediately flash the bios, which I definitely don't want to do (on my Toshiba laptop!).
I would greatly appreciate any help you all can give me on how to create the recovery USB stick in the proper format.  Thanks in advance.

    Fixed!
It turns out that the bios update actually succeeded, but something in the hard drive boot files got corrupted.  I was able to make a Windows 8 Recovery USB stick on another machine, and finagle around to have the HP laptop reformat the hard drive to original factory condition.  Fortunately, I made a very recent Macrium image before this most recent problem started, so the next step is to restore that image.  With the new v. F29 bios, hopefully this beast will finally upgrade to Windows 8.1.

  • BIOS Update Fail - Aspire XC-603G Win 8.1

Hello,I have searched here for a couple days and read a bunch of posts - some of which I have tried.   I am NOT trying to go back down to Win 7 (though I really like Win 7)  I am trying to stick with Win 8.1. I was running BIOS P11-A1 and suddenly started having trouble with the USB 3.0 controller.I read some posts here and on other forums that stated I should see if there is a BIOS update. There are actually four for this machine and so I started with the oldest one P11-B0LTTo be honest the instructions in the README pdf file were not that helpfulbut I found soem great data on the AMI website that helped me update to P11-B0L. I ran the BIOS-DOS.BAT file first but got this error: "4 - Error: ROM File ROMID is not compatible with existing BIOS ROMID"So I went ahead and ran the AFUDOS file without all the parameters in the batch file and everything updated fine. But I am still having troubles with the USB 3.0 controller and the process just seemed to be fairly complex. Both my HP's and three other Dell's had Flash BIOS programs, or simple instructions that worked with no problems. Was I just getting lucky with them and there is some hidden UEFI and/or MS-DOS secret ritual that I am missing here ?Am I perhaps using the incorrect BIOS update file - and if so which one should I use ?  Thanks,-Bil

Thanks that makes sense.  Would of course be nice if Acer didn't offer them as options when one selects Win 8.1 as the OS.Or at least put that note in the description for each. I of course got jammed up when I forced the next BIOS version (with the "L") after B2 worked fine. She was hanging up at the POST so I cleared the CMOS by swapping the jumper pins.I then put the B2 BIOS on the USB and renamed it AMIBOOT.ROM and I am back to a functioning box. USB 3.0 controller is still DOA but I am probably going to dump this MB for one with a couple PCI slots.I have been wanting to dump the Celeron POS anyhow - and this will be my tester for Win 10. Thanks again for the info and maybe it will help the next poor soul...Consider this one resolved -bil

    Hi,
If you laptop works well, don't update it. If not, don't use HP Support Assistant or any other program for updating/downloading the BIOS!! Download it:
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp55001-55500/sp55299.exe
manually to a folder, close all running applications (browser, etc..) and then install it by double clicking on it and following the instructions..

  • BIOS Update failing to install via HP Support Assistant.

I have tried four times to install a BIOS update (Rom Family SSID 2AF7; Version 80.20Ap1) provided within the Support Assistant, on each occation the update fails to install. I get no error messages. The computer restarts, but the previous BIOS version (AMI 80.19 (2014-07-18)) remains installed.
I have tried stopping my antivirus program, but this didn't help. I have noticed that the command screen hangs with a flashing cursor, but no instructions are visible and then my computer restarts.
Is it possible that the update is corrupt? Any advice on how I should proceed would be welcome.

  • Bios update failed Lemovo H50-55

The PC is now bricked . Is it possible yo recover the BIOS? The original BIOS version was IRKT38AU S. I tried flashing with IRKT42AUS.

    hi Win10User,
Sorry to hear about your trouble.
When you flashed the BIOS (as per this readme.txt), were there any errors during the flash process or any power interruptions or the BIOS update was successful but you get No POST after rebooting the machine?
If the update was successful but you get No POST then you may want to try this AMI BIOS Recovery (the flash utility is afuwin which is used for AMI BIOS).
If you're unable to recover it then I recommend you contact lenovo and report the issue (they usually send a tech. over for service).

  • "BIOS ME update....file not found " since a P67A-GD65 bios update failed

    Hi everyone,
I've decided to post this little message after looking for a solution over the web and over the MSI forum because I've got a problem since the BIOS update of my P67A-GD65 MB.
I've followed the update process for the 4.32 BIOS using an USB key, the update started but did not continue after reboot, and since My PC is out of order
The "BIOS ME update....file not found " message is displayed after lots of booting tries, using plenty of methods.
I've looked and tried all the techniques I could find over the web, I've tried :
-PC with and without SATA drives connected
-the last 4 versions of the bios found on-line, even the original version of my MB before updating (1.19)
-4 different usb keys (from 128 Mb to 4 GB)
-all front and back usb ports
Each time, on each usb key, there were several bios versions, even one renamed to AMIBOOT.ROM for testing the recovery method.
I've also tried to make the keys bootable by using the “MSIHQ USB Bootable” tool with the 1.19 bios (after the boot fix), the usb key appears in the F11 boot menu but when I select it, the PC boots but still shows me the "BIOS ME update....file not found " message.
I've also tried a clear CMOS with several power off.
I've also tried to burn a CD containing only a AMIBOOT.ROM file, and to boot on it, but same problem occurs.
In brief, it seems that my PC does not recognize my Key's content, whatever it is.
I've you got an idea to help me ?
Last precision, the update process that failed was using the 4.3 bios version, but my CPU is a not an IvyBridge .
    thanks for your help

    HI
I've tried  with your file , that's better but not solved
the "BIOS ME update....file not found" has gone but my bios is still inacessible.
I put the usb key (with the decompressed file) and the PC starts, displays the MSI boot logo, and then shows a message for hitting F1 or F2 bla bla bla...
Whatever the key that has been hit (F1 or F2, and only the first time), the pc boots again and again after displaying the boot logo, followed by a 30 seconds black screen.
If I remove the key, I've got a message that says I have to put a key on an usb port, and when I put back the usb key , the PC starts to boot again and again.
    Once again , I'm stuck.
    thanks for your help
